《Drunk & Sober : IN LOVE》Chapter 1

First day of junior high school and I couldn't be more nervous. I had worked real hard to get an admission in St.Vincent as it is the best school in Seattle.
I held April's hand tightly as she led me into the huge hall making our way to the reception. She waved and exchanged hello's with so many people on our way that it somewhere made me nervous to get noticed.
She has changed a lot since she shifted to Seattle a year ago i.e. in freshman year. I remember her being just like me.
Introvert, shy, studious and definitely not a party animal. A nerd basically.
Now, she is completely into late night parties, hanging out with friends and drinking too. I actually haven't asked her about her involvement in getting intoxicated but considering the vast changes in her I wouldn't be surprised if she would answer in the affirmative.
The last memory of us hanging out together before she moved here was at my place after studying for a test. We used to order some pizza and soda and this was what life was back then.
We are best friends since we both could remember. April has undergone a drastic change in her appearance also.
Back then she used to tie her long caramel coloured hair into plaids and tie a bandana above to avoid any strands coming on her face. Now she styles them into curls which fall till the small of her back.
I couldn't really understand what she was doing when she asked me to wait for like 20 minutes before bringing me here saying she needed to get ready. She applied makeup on her already perfect face and that made me scrunch my nose.
Maybe Seattle has this effect on people. Anyways I am happy for her.
She is my one and only friend and I love her so much. After we reached the reception she grinned at the brown curly haired man and to my surprise he pulled her into a hug.
"Who is this gentleman with you?", he asked April while eyeing me from head to toe. I felt a bit conscious and I quickly adjusted the hem of my shirt ensuring that all the buttons were closed.
This is a nervous habit I guess. "He is my bestfriend, Rex. He came here today in the morning and guess what?", she took a brief pause before patting me on the back and continuing, "He is here on scholarship basis."
I felt a little proud of myself and looked at the man before passing April a small smile. The man gave me my dorm room's key and April guided me into the crowded halls leading to another building where I supposed the dorms were.
We had small talks in between about how my family was back in Chicago, how I haven't changed even a bit in the past two years and how life will be different now when we are in junior year. I was already exhausted from the long journey and I just wanted to sleep for a while.
Classes were going to start from tomorrow onwards and so I had a day to relax, plan the next day and maybe study a bit. As soon as I reached the door to my room marked 101, I was about to push the key into the lock when I heard soft moans from inside.
I looked at April and she was equally confused. I knocked softly but no one answered.
So I decided to just go inside as practically it is my room too. I knew for a fact that I had to share the room with two other guys and I am sort of not ready for it.

I just hope they are like me so that we can be good friends, study together, talk about novels and go to the library every evening. But to my surpise when I opened the door there was a shirtless guy with tattoos on his back and arms, kissing a blond ruthlessly who was lying on the bed naked.
Oh my god. She is naked.
As soon as I realized this I turned around covering my eyes. "Rey", April said, sort of shouted at the guy in front of him.
"Hey hottie", he said. Flirt was evident in his tone.
Oh, she knows him, I wondered. Maybe they are her friends.
I looked to my side to see April. She was shocked but more hurt with the entire scene in front of her.
I couldn't understand why but I made a mental note to myself to ask her about this. "What are you doing here fucking some random bitch?", she hissed at him.
I turned around expecting the girl to be atleast wearing something by now. The girl gave April venomous looks but April was least bothered.
"Are you kidding me munchkin. This is my room. Where else would I be?", the boy whose name is apparently Rey said while pulling a white T-shirt over his head. I gulped when I figured out that he is one of my room mates.
Oh god! I am not ready for all this everyday. "Who else is sharing this room with you'll?", April further asked him while crossing her arms.
"Austin", was all he said while lying on the bed and taking a huge bite of an apple. April looked at me with big eyes before grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the room.
"Where are we going?", I asked her as she pulled my hand taking me out of the building again. "To change your room. You fucking can't live with Rey Bennett and Austin Gray. I am sure you won't be able to handle their level of living a good life", she said and left hold of my hand when she was sure that I was following her.
I was a bit offended by her words. "I can manage", was all I said although I desperately wanted to get my room changed.
As soon as my words left my mouth she turned behind, fuming with anger and practically shouted at me ,"Do you know what you are talking about? You want to share a room with those brats? You fucking kidding me right? There is not one single person on campus who doesn't know them. And trust me you would want to stay away from them. They are not like you and can never be. You will be pulled in problems along with them and I don't want that to happen. You are too", she paused for a second and took a deep breath to calm herself. Concern lacing her eyes.
She then continued, "Rex, you are too good for them. They party everyday, have fucked every girl on campus, are involved in a hell lot of drinking and are complete assholes. I will ask Mr. Brown to give you some other room. Come fast." I didn't say anything this time.
Definitely I am not ready to be with such people. I am here to get done with my studies and maintain a proper grade throughout the year.
I can't afford to lose all this just because of a bunch of boys who think life is all about enjoying by getting laid, drinking alcohol and getting high. I waited near the stairs while April went to the reception to request or basically beg Mr. Brown to change my room.

After about five minutes, she returned back to me with a frown on her face that clearly revealed that it was bad news. I just smiled at her not expecting an answer.
She dropped me back to my room and warned me a hundred times to keep my distance from them. To my relief Rey wasn't in the room when I returned.
I took this time to arrange my clothes neatly into the cupboard and decorate my side of the room. I pulled my novels from my carry bag and laid them on the study table.
When I was finally done, I pulled my phone out of my pocket to call my mom. I decided to take a nap but was disturbed an hour later with loud knocks on the door.
I rubbed my eyes while making my way to the door as fast as possible. When I finally opened the door, it was April holding a coffee in her hand.
"Wanna grab something from the cafeteria?", she asked me while handing me the coffee. I mentally checked the remaining time I had to get my bag done for tomorrow and the schedule that I needed to prepare for the week.
After realizing that I won't fall short of time I agreed to go with her. The cafeteria was buzzing with students.
We made our way to the queue to grab sandwiches and fries. I shoved my hands into my pockets before adjusting my glasses.
I looked around and my eyes darted to a table just a few steps in front of us when I saw a familiar face. It was Rey.
I elbowed April and she followed my gaze. "Who are they?", I asked her with curiosity while my eyes took in the appearance of each one of them.
"They are known as the 6-Pack. Rey is one of them. Do you see that tall guy with curly hair who is sticking his mouth in that girl with light brown coloured hair sitting on his lap?", she took a pause while looking at me making sure I knew whom she was talking about. I nodded in response.
"Well, he is Alan. Alan Perry and the girl's name is Stella. They are in a relationship. A pretty serious relationship actually. They live together. By the way Alan's father is the Principal of this school and to be honest he is the only decent person in that group. Even Stella is kind but I guess staying in that group requires to have some type of arrogance because each one of them truly possess it." Alan actually looked innocent than the others in the group.
He had no tattoos on his body and was void of any piercings. He looked madly in love with Stella.
Who wouldn't be? She is too pretty and the way her hair covers half of her face is beyond adorable.
I was brought back from my thoughts when I heard April speak again, "Anyways moving forward, do you spot the girl with the burgundy hair. She is Talia Adams. A complete bitch. Since I came here, I have made sure never to cross paths with her. She is rude and arrogant and I just hate her." I looked at April and I couldn't help but chuckle at her getting mad just at the mere mention of Talia.
Talia actually looked way too different. She had short hair with that dark burgundy color.
Her lips were painted with a million coats of lipstick to give it such a dark look. She batted her complete makeup driven eyes to a guy on the other table before jumping down from the table and making her way to him.
The guy pulled her on his lap and kissed her mercilessly. Eww.
That was gross, I wondered. And what is with people sitting in each other's laps here I muttered under my breath.
April pushed me in the front and I completely forgot that I was standing in the queue. There were still a few students in front of me.
She further continued, "Austin is not here right now. He might be smoking outside. And the last is Rebekah fucking Williams. The want of every guy in college. Look at her. So perfectly made and maintained. But she is Talia's bestfriend and so I never attempted to talk to her." She pointed to the table again and my eyes searched desperately to put a face to April's perfect definition of a Greek goddess.
When I caught sight of her, my mouth slightly fell. She was actually pretty.
Like hotness type pretty I guess. I could feel the temperature around me rising.
She was wearing a red coloured bralette and a white sweater was hanging loose on her body showcasing her lace bralette and dark blue jeans below. She had tattoos on her left hand and her hair was pulled up in a bun.
She was sipping coke while checking her phone. I gulped the saliva and looked at April who was already looking at me.
"You like her? Don't you?", she teased me while smiling like an idiot. I was relieved to see that there was just a single person in front of me in the queue.
I took my tray and decided to ignore her but April held my hand tightly and shot me a glare obviously expecting an answer. As soon as she grabbed her meal we made our way to an empty table when suddenly we heard someone speak from the table I was focusing on from so long.
"Hey roomie!", I recognized the voice. It was Rey.
I looked behind and I couldn't help myself looking at Rebekah when I saw her noticing me. My eyes met those blue eyes of hers that were so damn beautiful that I forgot for a second that I was in the cafetaria surrounded by people.
She looked at me and for a moment I saw her smile before it was replaced by a wicked smirk. I diverted my attention to Rey and passed him a small smile before making my way to April who was shooting daggers at Rey with those sea green eyes of hers.
If looks could kill, Rey would have definitely been dead by now.

8 164Artemis
"Let them go, Dante." I whip my head to see a small boy standing the clearing with blonde hair and a green cloak hanging from shoulders. He isn't very tall however he holds his stance well. He doesn't seem to be more than Cassandra's age. Maybe 12 at most. I abruptly turn my head back hearing the man holding a sword to my throat chuckling with a sinister grin. "Oh, poor boy, what are you go to do about it?" The yellow teeth gleam as he begins stalking towards the boy who does not look the least bit fazed. I look around at the other men who are following the leader. I pull Cassandra tighter to my back as I take small steps back. I keep my eye trained on the men but also fear for the naive boy. "Do you really want to test me Dante?" He asks raising a single eyebrow. For a minute the men stop their movements. I see their hesitation for fear... Fear of what? I take the moment to stick Cassandra behind a nearby tree. She crouches down while I pull my sword out from its place. "How do you know my name?" The scoundrel raises his sword challenging towards the boy before taking a final step towards him. Then the unexpected happens. The young boy chuckles so darkly. It sounded almost... demonic. All the men instinctively raise their swords. "Oh Dante, I didn't know your name... but you know someone dear to me." "Spit it out boy!" The once grinning man is now looking around frantically. I continue my eyes scanning the small boy. He looks directly me and gives me a small nod before saying one word that caused all hell to breaks loose. "Artemis." Artemis is not an ordinary girl. She grew up in the wilderness after being shunned due to unique abilities and her different physical attributes. Blessed with an ability that scared others, she roams the wild with only her guarded one. That is until she stumbles into a situation that brings her in front of a prince.
