"How do I look?"
Placing my iPhone on the table, I took a step back to show my full image through the small screen, and raising my brows, I urged.
I noticed him putting his face right before the screen and giving me a full look from head to toe, "You're wearing a bright shade?" as he claimed, his voice held uncertainty.
I subconsciously smiled, as expected from my stupid brother, he too noticed that it's probably the first time in years that I have worn something of bright shade. Nodding my head, I looked down at the suit I was wearing (Sacramento state green) and shrugged, "Yeah, I thought, why not."
When the suits were sent to me, to chose from, this was also in between them. Although Nayla also knows that I don't wear bright colors, but I guess it somehow escaped from her eyes (maybe because of the change of the stylist or someone). I don't know why, but my eyes and fingers halted on it, I felt like wearing the bright colors I long ago left behind.
When I raised my eyes again toward Kai, he was still scrutinizing me with his narrowed eyes and then finally commented, "It looks...different."
With a smile, I nodded at his words, his hesitant words only mean he's finding it quite pleasant, otherwise, he would have been imitating the vomiting gestures.
"Where are you going?"
"An event," responding this, I again stepped ahead to pick my phone from the table.
"Wait...why are your hands like this?"
"Oh, these," my eyes moved toward my bandaged hands, which still haven't completed their healing procedure, with a subtle irritated sigh, looking back at Kai, I explained, "Some employee mistakenly dropped hot coffee, got burned slightly."
Now that I notice his face, his forehead creased, a line appeared between his and eyes which were fixed at me as he silently listened to my words, even after I finished he kept staring. I can feel his puerile tantrum coming, so I tried to placid him with my nonchalant tone, "It has been healed pretty much."
But it didn't work, because in the next second, he tossed the iPad aside and I only heard his voice, yelling, "What's with you not telling me about anything!"
At his words, shaking my head, I mumbled, "You're such a child," And walked toward the sofa, to sit and talk to him. I knew my words will trigger him because soon he picked the iPad again and reasoned with me.

Kai's furrowed face didn't change much, and only his tone got sharpers, "You got injured and you didn't tell, where am I child in this? In this case, every time I came home with a minor bruise, you were a child too, still a child."
He said everything so fast, that I only managed to catch the word 'minor', which he particularly put pressure on. Not intending to further flame this child, I proclaimed, "This was really such a trivial thing, that I forgot. Now leave this, okay?"
Giving me a side-way glance, and then trying to look toward my hands through the screen, after a pause, "How's it now?" Kai meekly muttered.
"Healed and better."
Not wanting him to put his focus on any such things, I tried to divert his attention, "Now let's not stray away from the reason why I face-timed you, so, tell me about your trip, did you enjoy it?"
The moment my words ended, a smile bloomed on his face as if remembering how much he needed to tell me and exclaimed, "It was amazing!" Without waiting for me to ask more, he proceeded, "I met so many people, Jackson made me learn the basics of the language and it helped in greeting and all. It felt so good to meet them, all were so polite..." He continued to tell about the games he got to watch, which I had no idea about, and some names of the people he wanted to meet that were at the tournament and then concluded, "And after the events, instead of hotels Jackson took me to wander around the streets for food, he really knows a lot, about people, their language, their traditions of greetings and everything."
Smiling at his excitement, I added, "Oh yeah? I saw all the pictures you sent me."
"I'll give you a whole lot of details when you'll come back."
Nodding my head I agreed, and proceeded to ask, "Okay, by the way, how's Jackson doing?"
"Same old, he was so energetic when we were there. As soon as he landed here, and had to go to the company, his grumpiness returned."
I know how much Jackson hates to do the office work, that's why I just told him to visit once in a while, "I told him to just visit sporadically, does he go every day?"
"Maybe every other day."

With a hum, and deciding to call Jackson the next time I got time, I proceeded to inquire, "How're your advance classes going, are you catching up fine?"
"I told you it was easy, now that summer has started I have a lot of time too," He shrugged confidently as his words, and without waiting for me to say anything, I heard him telling, "Did you talk to Elijah? He stooped by Yesterday."
"I couldn't," I sighed, I didn't even get a chance to call Kai properly, it was entirely improbable to call Elijah, with the time difference and not knowing exactly when he would be, free, I didn't want to be a hurdle in his routine and moreover, could hardly find time to contact him, but I did exchange just a few messages with him, about last week. Thinking of him, I asked, "How's he?"
"Oh, he's doing fine, we, Jackson also, played soccer for a while then he left."
With a smile, I responded with a nod. Before we could further advance, I heard a knock on the room door. Excusing Kai, I headed to open the door and found Nayla. With a smile, she looked at me, her eyes as she stared at me from head to toe, "Boss, it's looking good on you." With a subtle smile, I thanked her for his compliment, without wasting another second, she proceeded to tell me the reason she was here: "Boss, Miss Gorata, and Mr. Dineo are ready and waiting for you at the hotel's lobby."
"I'll be there in a few minutes," With that, I closed the door and once again put my focus toward awaited Kai. As I looked at him, I saw the same troubled expressions on his face and couldn't help but ask, "What?"
After a moment of hesitation, he inquired his frequently asked query, "Um...when are you coming back?"
With an inaudible sigh, I looked straight at him, "Kai...I can't say for sure, you know I have to go to Gaborone, things are chaos there. But hopefully, one and a half weeks will be enough," and tried my best to explain the situation and possibility to him. Not wanting to see his fallen face while I'm going to end the call, I tried to assert, "I will try my best to be back soon, but be prepared for anything."
At my words, seeing him silent, so I proposed, "How about, I'll face-time you more often?"
Only then did he look at me and smiled, this little drama queen.
I too smiled, "Okay then, take good care of yourself, stupid-fool," and with that, we ended the call and I proceeded to take my things and leave the room.
Yesterday, I gave him what Mr. Schmidt wanted so bad, I returned his forty percent. Without wasting time with the vain attempts of the team, I simply approached him to just put an end to our association with Mr. Schmidt. He tried so hard to hide the excitement that was gushing through his movement and through the shine in his eyes but failed. I simply stated that I don't stand with his decision of changes in the policy and felt it was better to just take a step back, he asked nothing in return, no question no objection, simply agreed and we carried out all the legal process and got done with it. Then today, we concluded our work here in Berlin.

Our last stop in Berlin is this Global charity and awareness event, where different issues are going to be raised, discussed, and build awareness. Among them, the protection of nature and wildlife is one, so I'm going there on the behalf of my organization along with my head executive and executive assistant of the organization, who are waiting for me at the hotel's lobby. Along with that, just now Nayla and Ali will leave for Manhattan, after the conference (after a reset of few hours) I will leave with Miss Gorata, and Mr. Dineo for Gaborone.
Even though I have to tell Kai I'll back soon, I just hope that things will sort out in Gaborone, otherwise, I don't know how will I convince my fool of a brother if I had to stay there longer.
Ah, and Jackson too, I can feel my ears starting hurting at just the thought of what I'll have to bear later if I told that old man to stay longer.
