《To Be A Dad (Irondad and Spiderson)》36:Bad Feelings

Tony grumbled as he watched his kid land safely in the hiding spot they picked. Tony only had a couple of hours before Ross would take them, he had to help them somehow.
If they would listen. The chat was short before he called out to his son. "Underoos!" Tony smirked as he watched the kid get the shield and make a great landing. If only he wasn't that talkative.
"Does he sound familiar to you?" Rhodey asked him, looking back at the web-slinger, Tony nodded.
"Very, we'll figure it out later." He promised, looking back at the fight.
Tony wished they had Stephen there when Antman turned giant. Maybe then they wouldn't be so outnumbered.
He already thought this was a bad idea, he took Peter out of school! He brought his 15-year-old child with him. He landed near Peter, fear welling up inside him as he watched his motionless body.
"Hey kid, you alright?" Peter turned quickly, arms up, and ready to fight. Tony gently took hold of him. "Hey, Tesoro, it's alright. Just me." Peter relaxed, letting out a breathless "hey dad."
"You're done." Peter looked up at him shocked.
"What! No! I can get him back!" Tony shook his head, letting him go.
"Stay down or I'll call Stephen." He took off, following where Rhodey was going.
He panicked when his friend started falling. "Rhodey!" He called out, turning to fly towards him. Rhodey didn't answer, and Tony could feel his fear grow as he watched him fall. "No!"
But then there was a portal, and a red cloak came flying out, grabbing hold of Rhodey, helping him land safely. Stephen stepped out of another portal next to Rhodey.
"Sorry, I'm late." Stephen smiled at his friend before turning to Tony, who landed and rushed up to Rhodey and hugged him.

"Rhodes, I'm sorry, I'll fix it." Rhodey patted his back, sighing in relief.
"I'm fine, thanks, wizard." Rhodey laughed a bit when Stephen rolled his eyes and turned to the Avengers, who were escaping. "Natasha is helping them." Tony nodded.
"Well work this out, come on, the spiderling should be around here."
Stephen walked around the airport, sighing when he saw Peter laying in the middle of the rubble. "Hey, Petey." The doctor called, crouching down and grabbing his son's arm. "We have to go home."
Peter turned to him. "Tired." He mumbled and Stephen chuckled. " 's dad 'kay?" He cleared and perked up when he heard someone land near them.
"Yeah kid, I'm okay." Tony gently peeled off the mask, frowning at the bruises. "Are you okay?"
Peter nodded, snuggling into Stephen, who had brought him up into a hug. Stephen gently inspected his eye. "I think I'll kill Captain America myself if he does this again."
"He didn't know it was me," Peter mumbled, curling up into the cloak. Tony sighed and looked over at Rhodey walking over.
"So, Petey decided to join us?" They sat down next to Peter, wincing at the black eye. Peter smiled back, and the rest smiled too. Peter was a strong kid.
____
"Just call me if things get out of hand," Stephen said as Tony got ready to go out and find Rogers. Tony nodded.
"I'm trying to make amends, nothing is going to get out of hand." Stephen sighed and nodded.
"Fine, just be careful." Stephen watches him leave, swallowing the bad feeling he was getting from the plan.
He turned and smiled at Peter, who was playing with the watch Tony gave him. He sighed and sat next to him, letting his son cuddle into his side. "Dad will be okay," Peter said softly.

Stephen smiled and nodded. "Of course he will, he's Iron Man. Peter nodded and yawned.
" he's the invincible Iron Man," Peter mumbled, curling up to go to sleep. Stephen nodded and brought his son closer.
He could only hope Peter was right.
______
Tony wheezed out as his chest tightened. Friday had sent alerts out to his husband but Tony was terrified he won't make it. His chest hurt and his body refused to get up anymore.
He rested against a pillar, watching the snowfall as he gasped for breath. He won't make it.
_____
Down in the abandoned lab, something else started to awaken.
Something that was now catching up with news and catching up with what just happened to Tony.

No Easy Mode
Reincarnation isn't easy, Sure you might have a status menu but unlike a video game the training is real, the blood, sweat, and tears are real. Unfortunately for Samuel Erasi Fuller he found out that no amount of video game knowledge can prepare you for a world of skills, attributes and magic and even his top notch survival skills only go so far when there are beasts that shoot fireballs or move like a bolt of lighting. Worse yet there are no levels of skills just a name and description and a percentage display! Edit: Yes the poorly done cover is my personal work. Drawing anything using your finger and an app on your phone was not as easy as the tutorial made it look!

The Dreamside Road
Five years after the world fell into chaos, a treasure of artifacts is up for grabs. The relics of the Dreamside Road offer a power that could help rebuild or annihilate what remains. Orson Gregory is an adventurer for hire, but hunts this treasure for answers, not glory. Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.

Road of the Immortal Tao
The story is a fanfiction created based on the mobile game Immortal Taoists, following the development of Server 87, adapted to fiction, plus a backstory. You will be able to find many names of actual in-game players in the novel (yours truly included), all of which agreed to participate in this little project. For obvious reasons there will be deviations from the actual game in order to match an actual timeline and for the story to make sense. Enjoy the journey of the S87 players on their path to Immortality!
