《Troubled // Irondad》13

Tony rushed to get out of the building with Peter limp in his arms. The boy was still somewhat conscious, but he didn't dare to move. Every bullet that flew towards the two was blocked by Tony's armor, he made sure of it.
Finally he made it out of the building and began flying to the tower where Bruce could help. "Steve?" Tony asked over the coms.
"Yeah I'm here. Did you get the kid?" He sounded out of breath.
"Yeah he's hurt really bad. I'm getting him to Bruce now," Tony said.
"Ok. We've got everything handled here so Peter doesn't have to worry about it. S.H.E.I.L.D. should be here any minute," Captain concluded.
Tony held on tight to the kid in his arms as his jets carried them to the tower.
Ironman ran inside once he landed, not bothering to take the suit off yet. "FRIDAY GET BRUCE TO THE MEDICAL WING. NOW." He yelled running to his destination.
Bruce made it to the medical wing before they did because he was already in the building. When he saw Peter, his eyes went wide. "Dear god... Tony put him on the table now," Bruce was now scurrying around trying to find what he needed.
'He didn't even see under his shirt yet,' Tony thought to himself, growing more anxious.
"Friday call any nurses or doctors we have on sight right now to come in here," Bruce said while putting a clear mask over Peter's nose and mouth.
A few moment later, 2 doctors and 3 nurses walked in. Bruce immediately got them to work.
"Give him a sedative."
"Not that one, he needs the stronger one."
"An anesthetic too."
"IV."
"Heart rate."
"Take his shirt off."
"Oh my god..."
"Tools."
Tony's mind was racing from all the commotion with the doctors and Peter. He was thankful he was still in his suit to hide his nervous hands. "Tony," Bruce got his attention.
Tony faced down towards the man and away from his kid. Bruce spoke again, "you're going to have to leave, we need to fix all the stitching. It's infected and could get worse, it needs to be sterile in here."
The anxious man didn't want to leave but he knew he had to for Peter's safety. So he left the room and went to the lab to take his suit off. Right after he was back in the medical wing, waiting in the room outside where they were working on Peter.

Three hours later the doctors and nurses left the room. It felt like a relief when Tony saw them done. Bruce took a seat beside Tony while the others went back to where they were before the incident.
"Is he ok?" Tony asked, kind of afraid of the response.
"Right now, not really. What they did to him was horrifying and-and disgusting, he went through a lot of pain. But he's stable. We found something in his system that was messing with his abilities, so when it's completely flushed out in about an hour, he should start to heal. With his healing it should be 3 days until I can release him." Bruce sounded exhausted.
"I'm so fucking stupid," Tony wanted to kick every chair in the room through the window. How could he have let this happen?
"Hey it's not your fault, there was no way in tracking him and you couldn't have known he was gonna go after Louis the first place. You ended up finding him anyways. Don't start blaming yourself," Bruce put a soft hand on his shoulder. "You can go in there now."
Tony rose from his seat and followed Bruce into the room. Peter looked terrible still, but he already looked a little better then when he found him. He started getting color back in his face and didn't look so dead. Tony felt like he could breath better after that.
He then pulled a chair up next to the unconscious teen and stayed by his side.
——————————————————————————————————————————
It's been about 18 hours now and Tony still hasn't left the same seat. Natasha came down once to give him something to eat though so he wouldn't starve. Peter still hasn't woken up yet and Bruce said the reason he's still asleep is because of exhaustion.
Peter has starting healing too, not a ton, but the progress was noticeable. It would take a little more time even with his abilities to heal all his injuries. All Tony wanted was for him to just wake up and be ok.
He also had important news to tell him. That he got adopted. Tony hoped Peter would be ok with it. The billionaire didn't mind giving the teen a place to live. And at that time Tony hasn't really realized how much Peter had grown on him, he didn't show it much either.

The doors opened to the medical wing and Clint walked in, "Hey man you look tired."
Tony leaned back in his chair and sighed.
"Anyways," Clint walked closer to Tony and the teen, "Steve told me to take watch so you could get some rest."
"Tell Steve to shut up," Tony cleared his throat after his comment.
"Well... ok I can do that but he said this wasn't optional sooo," Clint said with unnecessary hand motions.
Tony looked back down at the peacefully sleeping boy. "Look, you'll be the first person to know if he wakes up. Or second, I'll be the first, but still," Clint informed.
"Two hours," Tony said looking back up, "only two."
"Ok yeah, two hour nap is better than nothing," Clint gave a thumbs up.
Tony got up from his chair and hesitantly left the room. Clint took a seat and began bouncing a ball against the wall.
No way was Tony going to sleep, there was no time for that. He walked into the guest bedroom he gave to Peter, looking around. Well it wasn't a guest room anymore. Now it was Peter's. The room just felt so empty and plain, definitely not Peter's style. Plus Peter had none of his stuff there, it was all at his old apartment.
So that's how Tony spent his two hours to rest. He went back to Peter's old apartment and collected all his things with the help of Happy. They boxed up all his clothes and valuables. Tony and Happy had a good time looking through his collection of all his LEGO Avengers.
After they were finished packing everything into the car, Tony went back up to do one last scan of the apartment, making sure he didn't miss anything important. Right as he was going to leave something on the coffee table caught his eye.
It was a framed picture of May and Peter smiling. Tony picked it up and studied it. Peter was standing with a wide smile and May was sideways hugging him lovingly. It made Tony smile. He held the picture to his side as he made his way back to the car.
When they arrived back at the tower, Tony and Happy got to work. Tony was sneaking around because he was supposed to be asleep at the moment, but that just made it all the more fun.
The men quietly and quickly brought all the boxes up to Peter's new room and began unpacking. Happy was in the closet putting away Peter's clothes while Tony was hooking up Karen to be in his room.
"Happy I'll be right back," Tony called out getting a mumble as a response. Tony went to the garage to find some stuff to decorate the teen's room.
"Perfect!" Tony said finding something that he liked. When Tony came back to the room, Happy was finished with the clothes and now lining up the LEGO Avengers on a shelf above the desk.
When he got a good look of what Tony was holding he chuckled, "you're so full of yourself."
"Always pointing out the obvious," Tony replied, putting a nail in the wall.
When he finished, Tony stood back with a smile plastered on his face. He put a giant framed Ironman poster above Peter's bed. "It looks great," he concluded.
Happy rolled his eyes, "the sad thing is he's actually going to love that."
"Of course he is," Tony was still admiring it.
"Help me finish unpacking," Happy snapped him out of his self-loving trance.
There was one box left, which Happy was unpacking. Now Tony was setting up a computer on the desk. But he got that set up easily within a few minutes. Then he topped off the desk with the picture he found of May and Peter.
"Karen?" Tony called to test if she was there.
"Yes sir," she replied.
"Just checking to see if you are there. Friday?" He asked now seeing if his AI was still in Peter's room too.
"Also here, sir."
"Good," Tony said. "Alright that's the end of my two hour nap, thanks for the help Hap," he pat Happy on the shoulder while making his way back to the medical wing.
