《Hex [h.s]》Chapter Seventy-five

I groaned in pain, squinting my eyes. Clutching my stomach, I rolled over on the small pathetic bed. The sheets were thin and barely keep me warm, but I didn't need it. Hissing loudly, I began scratching my tummy, pain and irritation rising. I gasped aloud, rolling to the side as I let out another groan. Why is this happening to me? The thought about being pregnant, Harry being the father of the unborn child and that it is possibly a demon is making my head spin.
Silently screaming inside, I rolled to the right, applying pressure on my abdomen. "Shit." I breathed, the pain becoming unbearable. I should've resisted. I shouldn't have fallen to his charms, deceiving smile and devil may care attitude. Sadly I did. And now look where it has brought me.
Moaning in agony, tears slowly roll down my cheeks as I held the flat pillow in my hands, gripping it tightly. "Fuck!" I screamed as I was pushed against the wall, back aching, nails digging into the cheap paint. A inhuman growl escaped my lips as I was scraped into the wall, until I am now dangling in the ceiling. "S-stop! P-please!" I begged out to anyone who could hear, possibly even the person who is doing this to me.
I gasp once I landed flat on the bed, the pain increasing. My back arched, eyes rolling back as I ran my nails against the bedsheets. Sobbing softy, I began to relax as the pain subsided only to know that it'll come back after a few minutes. I turn to face the covered window, the clock in the nightstand ticking every passing second. He'll come looking for me, I know that. It's close to midnight, the people occupying the next room must think I'm crazy. Or that someone is fucking me. Whatever helps them sleep at night.
Seeing that the curtain suddenly moved even if there was no wind only alerted me that he is here. Harry is here. His presence begin my back made my skin tingle, I sat up and faced him. "I thought you'd come and find me." Harry stepped forward, hands tucked inside the pocket of his jeans.
"After you shot Grace, of course I would come." He replied, face void of any emotion. But I knew, I knew what he is feeling. Anger, confusion, and...suspicion. "I see Grace told you her twisted pity story, am I right?" Harry stared right into my eyes, as if doing so would unravel all of my secrets. "Why did you shoot her? I thought you trusted Grace-"
"Do you believe her?" I asked, "Do you believe what Grace told you? I'd be happy to tell you the real story if you want." Harry looked pissed, crossing his arms on his chest before gesturing for me to continue. "Do tell Lucinda. Or, should I say, Rachel Smith."
The temptation to roll my eyes at him grew but I decided against it. "What Grace told you are lies. The bitch is Rachel Smith and I don't know what she fed you for you to believe her but what I am saying is true. The lunatic even shot herself to frame me! Harry, surely of all people, you'd know whether she was lying or not!"

When he didn't say a word, I continued. "I am not Rachel Smith or the last Smith you are hunting for. You have to believe me Harry. I am not a traitor, Grace is!"
"How can I be so sure that you're telling the truth yourself? If you must have forgotten Lucinda, all you ever wanted was me out of your life. And I can say, the feeing is mutual. But even then, I shared my pain with you. Hearing you going behind my back was a fucking insult!" Harry seethed, fuming in rage, hands shaking in fists. "Grace has been my servant ever since, why should I believe a human like you who only wants to live but bemoans their very existence."
I bit my tongue back, taken away by his words. Harry is right about not believe in me. Then again, Harry is always right. And I hate it. "Why won't you listen to me Harry? I am only telling you the truth! You're walking into an enormous death trap if you would let Grace win and control you! Believe me Harry! Grace is only using her so-called innocence as a pawn in her game! All she wants is for you to die! Don't fall for her mind games Harry!"
"Don't tell me what to do you bitch!" He barked, causing me to fall back in defense. "You traitorous snake! You are the reason why I am not a human! You are the reason for my pain and misery! You are a pig and you will be slaughtered like one." The way he looked at me with murderous black eyes made chills run up my spine as I began to back away.
"Harry, please. Listen to me." I pleaded, yelping loudly as I fell to the floor. He just kept advancing, shadow towering me, in a haunting manner. "What's the matter Lucinda? I thought you're already used to the horror?" Oh, trust me Harry, I am far from getting used to it. Glancing behind me, I was close to the wall, nowhere to run, nowhere to turn to. Shit.
"You witch, if you don't tell me that you're Rachel Smith, I'll force it out of you. Probably slit your throat afterwards." Harry taunted with a tantalizing smirk, scaring the hell out of me. Run Lucinda, run! My head screamed at me to move and get the hell out no matter what it takes, but I guess my legs just couldn't process what it was supposed to do.
"Harry, please don't hurt me."
"Don't worry sweetheart," He grins, as my back hit the wall, fisting my hands on my sides. "I'll do more than just that. I'm going to make you wish you were never born." Raising his hand in the air, Harry made the motion to stab me with a knife he took out of his pocket. I closed my eyes, hands instinctively covering my stomach and sobbed. "Stop! I'm pregnant!"
The room suddenly became quiet, still. The only sound audible was my heavy breathing as drops of sweat roll down my face. Realizing what I just blurted out, I opened my eyes to see Harry staring at me in confusion, shock and disbelief. "What? What did you say?" Harry demanded, grabbing both of my arms and gripped them tightly, making it unable for me to escape. Shaking me, his nose flared and eyes narrowed into slits. "You're pregnant? To whom? Answer me!"

"Yes. I am pregnant." I admitted softly, lowering my head, unable to stare at him any longer. "You're not answering my other question. Who is the father? Tell me!" I shot my head up, narrowing my eyes at him in anger. "Don't play foolish Harry, we both know who it is." Taken aback for only a second, he frowned. "Do you expect me to believe-"
Unable to tolerate this any longer, I grabbed his wrist and place his palm on my stomach. "The baby is yours Harry. Nobody else, Harry." When he didn't respond, I began to worry as he merely stared at my flat stomach. I wonder what is going through his mind right now. My eyes widen when he bend down and pressed an ear against my tummy, hands gripping my waist as I awkwardly stay still.
"I hear a heartbeat." He mumbled, caressing the surface with his hand. I sighed deeply, "I didn't believe what the doctor or even Grace told me. I mean, I wasn't expecting to be pregnant, by a demon no less. Especially that the two of them are plotting against us." Harry looked up, eyes hard. "The doctor? You're saying that Alex is also a traitor? That can't be right."
"Harry, it's true. Grace shot herself to frame me that I tried to kill her, to silence her for good."
"Then why did run? Why did you run when you could stay and tell me. I'm starting to believe that you're really the Rachel Smith we're looking for." I licked my chapped lips and looked him in the eye. "I was afraid that you wouldn't listen to me and kill me before I could even say a word. I knew that even if I try and reason with you, I'd end up dead. You'll treat me like I'm some enemy when all I want to do is tell you the truth."
"I wouldn-"
"Don't lie Harry. We both know that would've happened if I stayed there." I growled softly at his reply, he couldn't get it pass me. I won't let him. It was his turn to sigh, "Yeah, you're right. I would've slaughtered you right away but I didn't have to. Zayn would've done it anyways." I raised my hand and touched his cheek before he took it, placing a kiss on my knuckle. "Do you believe me Harry?" I couldn't help but ask.
"To cut to the chase, I really want to but I can't. Not yet. I have to talk to Grace before I decided." Harry replied, taking my hand and helped me up. "Harry, you know I am not Rachel Smith. I am not the last one, and even if I am one, wouldn't I know that I'm stepping a land mine the moment I entered this town?"
"You have a point, but that doesn't mean I have to believe you right away. I don't want to waste my time killing the wrong person just to know that bitch is still alive and wandering around without a care."
"And, what if Grace is the last one? What are you going to do to her?" I questioned. An eerie smirk crawled on his face and it sent shivers down my spine. "I'll show her that making a fool out of me is a big mistake."
Both of us snapped our heads to the door, someone is knocking. "Excuse me! This is the lady in charge, may I ask you to quiet down? People here are trying to sleep." Harry turned to me, ignoring the lady outside the door. "Ready to ditch this place?" I took my bag and nod, "Ready as I'll ever be."
Just as the door knob twisted, Harry and I turned into a puff of smoke before our surroundings turn into a blur. Transporting us to who knows where until it stopped and both of us landed on the snowy ground. I felt my teeth chatter due to the cold atmosphere, rubbing my arms as I tried to warm myself. "W-where are we?"
"A few miles from the house. It shouldn't take long and besides, I have planning to do while we're at it. Zayn wouldn't like to see you at this moment, leaving me a note that I should kill you the moment I see you." I looked at Harry in shock, unable to comprehend that Zayn said those words. He was always quiet, unlike Niall who always has a thing to say about everything.
"But you didn't."
"Because I needed you to explain how this ended up on the warehouse." Tossing me a white object, I caught it gingerly. "I-it's a pregnancy test. It's mine." I spoke aloud, his eyes staring at the object as if it would blow up. "And I also wondered how you and Grace ended up on the warehouse. She told me you knew about it but didn't know how."
"Believe me when I say this Harry. I don't even know you have one, and I am a bit pissed you didn't." Harry shook his head at my words, "I don't have to tell you everything Lucinda. Some things are better left unsaid, especially when it's necessary. Who knows what would happen if you knew about it. You could've used it to your advantage to escape from me."
"But I didn't." I echoed my thoughts, which made him smile a bit. "You didn't and I'm glad."

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.
