《Hex [h.s]》Chapter Fifty-five

It's been a month since Matt was sent to jail, and here I am, sitting between Grace and Lyric. I finally decided to take them to my house for dinner, since mom and dad told me to invite them. And that's what I did. "This is a nice house you got Lucy," Grace complimented, staring at the neat portraits of different kinds of flowers on the wall.
It's a good thing we don't live at the old house anymore, or they won't come in due to the weird and scary appearance.
"Well, it's a bit lonely here sometimes, but yeah, it's okay." Drumming my fingers on the wooden table, I inhaled the scent of what seems to be tomato soup. That's kinda funny, I remember she told she'll make spaghetti.
I snapped my head at Grace's direction when her phone rang. Her eyes widen, beaming widely, "Shh! It's him! It's my boyfriend!" She exclaimed, standing up from her seat and accepted the call. "Hey," She greeted, Lyric began to squeal on the background, "Oh my gosh!"
Normally, I would be happy for her, but due to the incident between me and Randy, I guess romantic stuff doesn't appeal to me anymore. Grace continued to have a chat with her boyfriend, when dad came into the dining room. "Hello ladies," He somewhat teased as he strode in.
"Dad." I scold, a bit embarrassed, he just laughed and place his arm on my shoulders, "Sorry kiddo, anyways, is your mother finished with making dinner?" He questions, I shooked my head, "Nope." Dad pulled away and went straight to the kitchen. I can hear them conversing about dinner and money, which is totally normal.
"Really? Okay, I'll see 'ya. Bye!" Grace squealed and started to jump up and down in happiness. "Guys! He's coming over here! My boyfriend is coming over here after dinner, you'll finally meet him Lucy!" She exclaimed in excitement. I smiled, "Cool, can't wait to meet him Grace."
Mom emerged from the kitchen, and true to her word, a huge plate of spaghetti on her hands. "Dinner's here!" She announced, a huge grin on her face as she set the dish down. Dad soon followed with a pitcher of lemonade, "Who's thirsty?" We all sat down, ready to eat our dinner. After saying grace, we ate. The spaghetti was delicious, and the lemonade is just right.
We were soon finished, everyone is full and contented. Maybe our stomachs will explode if we continued to eat, which we don't want to happen. "Thank you Mrs. Mackenzie for inviting us to dinner, your spaghetti is delicious!" Lyric beamed, which made mom giggled. "No problem deary, we're just happy to know Lucinda here has a great company like you girls." I swear, I felt my cheeks redden due to that statement.
"Mom..." I groaned, standing up before gesturing at Lyric and Grace to follow me. "We'll just be in the living room," The three of us exited the dining and went to the living room, taking at seat on our leather couch. "Wanna watch a movie while we wait?" I suggested, Grace nod while Lyric made herself comfortable.
"Oh! Let's watch "Snow White and The Huntsman"! It's a good movie Lucy," Lyric requested, huging a pillow, "And, my favorite actress is in it!" This made Grace roll her eyes, "Please, Kristen Stewart isn't really a great actress! You just like her because she is Bella in "Twilight"! You have terrible taste in movies "

"Hey, I don't not! And "Twilight" is great! Even if Kristen Stewart isn't Bella, it's still a great movie," Lyric pouted, "And besides, it's better than "World War Z"." I just continued to search silently for the CD case as the two continued to bicker about which movie is better. Finally! Pulling the CD case out, I opened it and search for an appropriate movie to watch.
Smiling, I took "World War Z" and turned the DVD player on before playing the CD. Lyric and Grace stopped arguing once the movie started to play, "Now this, is a good movie!" Grace commented, giving me two thumbs up. Lyric became silent as her attention is at the television. I almost jumped off my seat when a zombie almost bit Brad Pitt.
"Lucinda," Dad shook my arm, I turn to look at him. "Yes dad?" I questioned softly, hoping I wouldn't disturb Grace and Lyric who are watching. "I just wanna tell you, me and your mom are going to bed now, so can you please lock the doors when your friends are gone?" I nodded, "Sure dad." It was just a simple favor, and easy to do.
"Right, okay then. Goodnight kiddo," He patted my shouler before turning to Grace and Lyric, "Goodnight to you ladies!" Both of them waved, they replied in unison, "Goodnight to you too, Mr. Mackenzie!" Dad climbed up the stairs, mom followed behind him. We were already at the part where the airplane was about to crash, when the doorbell rang.
Lowering down the volume, Grace began to cheer gleefully, "He's here! Guy, do I look presentable?" She asked, Lyric stood up and pointed at her lips, "There's something on your teeth." This made Grace panic a little, searching for a mirror which made Lyric laugh uncontrollably.
"I was just kidding Gracie," She laugh, Grace gritted her teeth, I didn't know if it was Lyric's joke or she called her by her real name. "I'll have my revenge later," She whispered only for the three of us to hear. When the doorbell rang once more, we hurriedly went to the door to answer it.
Grace opened the door widely and grinned, "Hey," She greeted, I almost drop my jaw when I saw her boyfriend. "Hey babe," He smirked, oh so he is British too. He has brown eyes, staring at Grace with adoration. His hair was jet black, which was gelled back nicely. He wore a black leather jacket, and skinny jeans. "Come in," Grace held his arm to pull him inside the house and out from the cold atmosphere.
She turns to me and smiled, "This is the girl I was talking about, this is Lucinda Mackenzie." Grace introduced, I send him a small wave, "Hello." He nodded, "Hello to you too, it's great to finally meet you. Grace here talks about you all the time." I turn to look at her, she just shrugged.
"Lucinda Mackenzie, this is my boyfriend, Zayn Malik."
He grins, as he held out a hand for me to shake, and I did. "We have officially met." I laughed at his comment, "Yes, we have." Pulling away, I watch as Lyric and Zayn interact with one another, talking about how their lives are. I just stood there, awkwardly, as they chat. "Zayn, do you need anything? Water? Juice?" I offered. He shook his head, "No, no, I am fine. Don't worry about me."
We took a seat on the couch, the movie long forgotten as they talked. Zayn started to question me, I answered them truthfully. I didn't know we we're playing 20 questions tho. "So Lucinda, how old are you?" Zayn asks.

"I'm 17, my birthday is next week." Lyric sat up, "What? Your birthday I next week and you didn't bother to tell us? We should celebrate it!"
I shooked my head, "Nah, I'm not the kind of person to celebrate things. Even my birthday," I answered. Both girls sighed, "Come on Lucy! Let us celebrate it together!" Grace argued, "Zayn, go tell her it's a bad idea to not celebrate your birthday." Zayn nod, agreeing with Grace, "She's right Lucinda."
"Okay, okay." I surrendered, pouting a bit, "You win." Lyric cheered, "I can't wait!" Looking up to check the time on the clock, it was already ten in the evening. I still have, we still have classes tomorrow morning. When Grace announced that they were going home, I mentally sigh in relief. Yes, bedtime for me.
"It was nice meeting you Lucinda," Zayn smiled, I was about to return the smile when I noticed something in his eyes. Something that made me, uneasy all of a sudden. Chills ran up and down my spine, I had to look away from him, letting Lyric bid Zayn goodbye. I never felt that kind of feeling ever since...
My eyes widen a bit at my thoughts. No, there is no way. Come on Lucinda, stop thinking about that demon! He's gone and will never be back again!
I snapped out of my thoughts when someone mentioned my name, "Yes?" Grace embraced me, I was surprised but returned the embrace. "Thank you Lucy for this wonderful dinner, see you at school tomorrow!" She pulled away and patted my shoulder. Smiling, I answered, "No problem Grace."
She followed Zayn to the door after waving goodbye. "See you Lucy, and don't forget to wear a jacket tomorrow, it'll be snowing." Lyric reminded, probably for the fifth time today ever since the radio announced it'll be snowing tomorrow. I can't believe it's going to be October tomorrow. So much time has passed.
"I'll remember that Lyric, thanks for reminding me." I grinned, waving goodbye as she exited through the front door before I closed and locked it. Turning the television and DVD player off and climb up the stairs to my room. I prepared my clothes for tomorrow, a pink coat, pale blue jeans and a white T-shirt. Grabbing my boots, I am ready for tomorrow.
Ring! Ring!
Groaning, I opened my eyes, rubbing them before turning my alarm clock off. I sat up and smiled once I saw snow already falling outside. I got out of bed and stretched my back. After fixing my bed, I went straight to the bathroom to take a shower.
The warm water sprinkling at me was enough to wake me up. I finished showering, and put on the clothes I prepared last night. Brushing my hair, I walked down the stairs to be greeted by the scent of waffles. I moaned, grabbing my backpack, I followed the scent to the dining, where dad was already seated and reading a newspaper.
"Morning dad," I greet, earning a small smile from him as he went back and concentrated on reading the news. I place my bag on the floor and sat. "Hello Lucy," Mom grin, "Do you want syrup on your waffles?" I nodded and grab the bottle of syrup she handed to me. "I can't believe it's already snowing here, usually it snows in November." Dad commented.
"Nigel, please go and buy some firewood later. It seems like the thermostat in this house is broken." Mom irritably said, well that's one of the 'perks' of buying used houses.
Dad nod, taking a sip of his coffee, his attention not leaving the paper. "I will," He simply answered. I finished two waffles, before telling dad that we should leave right now if he wants me to get to school on time. This made him stood up, grab his keys and exit the house, me following him, backpack and all.
Praising that the car wasn't buried with snow, and that the road was cleared, dad started the car. "Let's go Kiddo if you want to be early," He says, gesturing me to get in the car, which I did. The short trip was filled with silence, the heater warming the car, until we arrived, "Have a great day kiddo." He kissed my forehead and I climbed out of the SUV. Waving goodbye, I watch as dad drive away.
"Lucinda!" I turn to see Grace and Lyric, both wearing jackets to keep them warm from the cold harsh weather. I walked up to them and smiled, "Hey guys." Lyric happily cheered, "It's a snow day!" Giggling we went inside the campus, ready to start our class as we normally do. That is, if anything is normal here.
"Mackenzie," My breath hitched as I sharply turned around to see no one. I swore, I heard someone called my name. "Lucy," Lyric call, "Let's go!" Ignoring the fact that someone called my name, I followed them inside.
After a few hours of torture about physics, and other subjects that are abusive to the brain, it was time to have lunch. I heard Grace sigh heavily, walking towards us with her tray of food. I coaxed an eyebrow, "Why the long face?" I questioned, joking half-heartedly hoping to cheer her up. She frowned, taking a seat beside me and across Lyric, almost slamming her tray on the table.
"I can't believe it! I have to rewrite my essay because she thinks it's so common!" Grace wrinkled her nose, "I just can't believe it." Lyric suddenly smiled, "I have an idea girls! How about, we go out and enjoy the snow after school?" She suggested, we smiled, agreeing with her plan.
"Well maybe it'll lighten up my mood," Grace mumbled softly, taking a sip of her soda. When lunch was over, we all went back to our classrooms. I was about to enter, ready to start when Mrs. Johnson called my name. I stopped on my tracks, "Hello Mrs. Johnson, what can I do for you?" Waiting for her to tell me what she wanted.
"Miss Mackenzie," She approaches, clipboard in her hand, "Can I ask you a favor?" Okay. I shrugged, "Sure Mrs. Johnson, what is it?" She stood in front of me, before looking at her clipboard, she looked up and smiled. "Can you go and find the janitor? I need him to go and clean up the laboratory, somebody made a mess back there."
"Yeah, sure Mrs. Johnson, I'll go get him." I said, I was about to go when she handed me a paper-slip. "It's a pass for you, in case." Grinning, I took it from her, "Thank you Ma'am. I'll just leave my stuff before I go." I entered the classroom before placing my stuff on my seat. "Wait, where are you going?" Grace questioned, confused to why I didn't sat down.
"Have some errand to run for Mrs. Johnson, I'll be right back." I hurriedly explained before exiting the room. After walking down halls, peeking through empty classrooms and comfort rooms, there is no sign of the janitor. Where could he be? "Young lady," I almost jumped two feet in the air when somebody spoke. Almost. It was just Mrs. Alma, a clipboard in her hand as she eyed me suspiciously. "What are you doing outside of class?"
"I-I was asked to find the janitor by Mrs. Johnson," I stammered out, pulling out my pass to show it to her. "She said somebody made a mess at the laboratory." Taking my pass, she read it before sighing. "Very well, did you try checking the driveway? I heard he was clearing snow in the driveway." She suggested, handing my pass back.
"Okay, thank you Mrs. Alma." She nodded, "You're very welcome Miss Mackenzie," She curtly said in return before walking away. Following her advice, I went out of the school building to look at the driveway. It was already cleared from snow, which means the janitor, Mr. Parkes just finished his job. Now where will I ever find him?
"Well, well, well! If it isn't Lucinda Mackenzie," I felt my body froze all over. No, no it can't be! Impossible! I turn to see Matt, grinning widely, eyes bright like fire as his friends sneered and chuckled beside him. I can hear my heart pounding inside my chest, in fear. "M-Matt, what are you doing h-here? I-I thought they wouldn't let you out a-after two month?" I stuttered out.
"M-Matt!" He mocked, trying to sound like a female, his friends chuckling. "Let's just say I got connections baby," Matt laughed darkly, his hands fisting, smiling twistedly like a mentally ill person. "Didn't you miss me babe?" I cringed in disgust at the pet name he gave. "And, I want to continue where I left off." He sneered, taking a step towards me. I did what any right minded person would do, run. "Get her! Bring that b.itch back to me!" He screams, ordering his friends to capture me as I ran from the psychopath.
The sound of their fast footsteps on the snow encouraged me to ran faster, hoping, praying that they won't catch me. Goodness knows what'll happen if they do. I yelped when I tripped, the cold snow made my cheek freeze. I sat up, touching my ankle, pain shoot up my legs making me hiss in pain. Shit, this isn't good. "There she is! Get her!" I gasped when I turn to see they were getting closer, I mustered up all my strength and stood up, ignoring the pain from my sprained ankle, I hop away in fear.
I let out a gasp when someone tackled me to the ground, groaning when my sprained ankle caused me pain. I turn to on my back to see Matt just as he pinned me to the snowy ground. "You're not getting away again you little b.itch," He snarls, grabbing my jaw to make me look at him. "F.uck you!" I spat, clawing my nails on his face.
He hissed angrily and let my hands go, before lifting my uninjured leg and kicked him where it hurts so bad. A string of profanities left his lips, I pushed him off of me as he curled his body in pain. Wasting no time, I fervently stand up and scurried away.
Looking back to see Matt friends trying to aid him, I bit my lip in determination and used all my energy to find a way to escape. I ended up at the back of the school's building where a lake is frozen due to the cold climate. Students always hang out here after school. "I'll never forgive you for that stunt back there you s.lut," I gape, turning around to see him and his friends, anger written all over their faces. Great.
"And you think I'll just let you go after that? You thought wrong," Matt took a step forward, which made me step back. "You should've been smart not to mess with me Mackenzie, if you know what's good for you." I was absolutely horrified when he pulled out a gun from his coat, I can feel my face turned white as sheet. "Come with me, or this won't end well."
"M-Matt, let's act like the mature adults we a-are and put the gun down. We can s-solve this problem w-we have."
"Shut up! Shut up you b.itch! I will kill you!" He screams, the vein in his neck appeared, face red in anger. My hands are shaking, palms sweaty as he continued to advanced towards me, I also continued to step back. "Matt, please c-calm down." I whimpered, chills running up and down my spine.
"Hey Matt, dude, I think you're taking this a bit far-" One of his buddies spoke but was cut off by Matt. "No! Five if you just quite down! I'll enjoy this," He said, the sound of him cocking the gun was enough to make me mad. "Dude, I thought we are just going to scare the girl, not kill her-"
Matt turn around to face his friends, "Shut up!" He roared, "I'm gonna kill her whether you want me to or not!" I look down to see I was already standing on the frozen lake, the thin ice reflecting my terror-stricken face. Matt faced me once again, this time a crazy grin on his face, the boy is really mental. His gun pointed at me. His eyes alone expressed one thing: kill. I silently gasped when I heard a crack underneath me, the a small rupture appeared on the ice.

Dip$h!+s in Space
An eccentric comedy novel (that thinks it's a TV show) about space, and the Dipsh!+s that end up stranded in it. This hyper-self-aware comedy of stupid proportions, centers around Captain William T Lawg (no relation) and his adventures as a guy who managed to afford a refitted soft-top ice-cream truck, in space. Explore the universe with his trusty crew of valiant randos. Marley, the tech-bro, stoner spacebunny, who just wants to get away from his home world and the bullies it harbors. Duffy, the plump and sassy female mechanic, who has had every job in existence totaling far more years than possible. Roy, the frigging fabulous, flamboyant android, and former spy…or possibly current spy. (dun dun, daaaa!) And lastly, but certainly leastly, that other chick the captain keeps trying to bang. Ride with the crew of the notorious Tast-E-Chill, to a world of wonder that a lot of other space travelers have already been before, but probably not Lawg, so it's still exciting. This satirical joke on itself and every sci-fi trope ever to exist, will be sure to either thrill you or disappoint you, because COMEDY…IS…SUBJECTIVE! With a crew of 3-10 and an IQ of also probably 3-10, The captain putters along to uncharted lands, where history, loot, drama, innuendos of the sexual verity, and various Technicolor hoes shall surely be waiting, usually with some form of trap. Each season brings new and interesting crewmen, like: Menace: the adorable genderless frog-child-thing with the heart of gold and the dialogue vocabulary of a slightly trained parrot. Greg: the 8 foot tall, ancient, thermonuclear, semi-retired alien overlord who just wants to prove he still has a purpose…and also to rule the galaxy. Izzy: a 3rd generation, age-reversed reboot, accidental clone of her own mother/sister/older self, who happens to be Greg's daughter-in-law…and much, much more. Prepare yourself for shallow adventure, moderately-to high offensive dialogue, and overwhelmingly childish scenarios. Tag along as the crew battles, fierce enemies, lack of food and survival tape, and occasionally their own incompetence. Teen Romance, current politics, subtlety, dignity, this sucker has none of those, and it darn well knows it. Raise the sails and grab the rails as a bunch of dipsh!+s find themselves...IN SPACE. (Roll dramatic tapering credits, to royalty free trumpet music)
