《Hex [h.s]》Chapter Fifty-four

"I demand to talk to his parents at once!" I flinched when dad barked at the cowering principal, his face red in frustration, "He almost raped my daughter! What kind of idiots let a rapist get away? You should've called the police!"
Here I am, awkwardly sitting across my dad who is snapping at the principal, I hope his voice can't be heard through out the whole school. "Sir, we did call the police after expelling Matt, he is spending two months in jail for the inapproriate actions he have done," The principal replied, pinching his nose.
Dad frowned, "Two months? It should be five years or more!" The principal shook his head, "I'm sorry Mr. Mackenzie, but I believe you don't know. Matt is the mayor's son, obviously, they can pay bail, but as I have heard, Mr. Andrews let his son spend in jail to learn his lesson."
Dad grew quite for a moment until he sighed, "I just want my daughter to be safe, I don't want her to get hurt. After all, she's my only child." He turn to look at me with a worried face, it broke my heart to see him like that. He truly cares for me, unlike my mom, who is not here with dad again.
"I understand Mr. Mackenzie," The principal nod, opening one drawer from his desk before pulling out a whute envelope. "Here you go Mr. Mackenzie," He handed it to dad, who took it, eyeing it with confusion. "What is this Sir?"
The principal grinned softly, "It's a letter from Mr. Andrews, he told me to give it to you." Dad opened it hesitantly, both of our jaws dropped when we saw the contents. It was money, lots of money. "W-why would he gives this to me?" He asks.

"Mr. Andrews said this would pay for all the trouble Matt caused Miss Mackenzie. He said he won't let you go until you accept the money, he is sorry for his son's behavior."
"I appreciate it, but I can't accept this Sir," Dad shook his head, giving the envelope back. "Mr. Andrews insist! Just take it Mr. Mackenzie." Sighing, he took it once more and place it inside the pocket of his coat. With one last hand shake, we exited the office. The hallway was empty since classes already started, I was excused since the principal wanted to talk to my dad. It's kinda weird that mom didn't want to come with us today, even dad begged her join us, she wouldn't.
But I am not surprised tho, she doesn't care for me at all. Even if I get killed here at school, she'll probably just nod at you and do nothing. That's all she have ever done, nothing. "Dad," I called, he turn to face me, knowing I have his attention, I continued, "Do you think, there's something up with mom?"
"What makes you say that?"
I shrugged, clearly he didn't expect me to ask him that kind of question. My sneakers making squeaking sounds as we walk down the hall. "Never mind dad, I guess I'll just go and catch up with my class."
"Go ahead kiddo, I'll see you later,"
