《Hex [h.s]》Chapter Forty-three

After dinner, we all went to the living room; well except for mom, who is washing the dishes in the kitchen. Nervously, I fiddled with my fingers at the thought of what's gonna happen later.
I tried to listen to dad's jokes about his grandmother back when he was a boy, to ease the nervousness. But it wasn't working.
Randy laughed along with my dad, while I just sat in silence. Dad must've noticed causing him to call my name , "Lucinda."
I turn to face the direction where the voice came from. "Y-yeah?" I stammered, clearing my throat. "You seem silent, you okay? Is there something wrong?" He questions worriedly.
I shook my head and weakly smiled, "No dad, there's nothing wrong." I mumbled before closing my eyes. I mean, what's the use opening your eyes if you can't even see a damn clear thing? I might as well just rest it 'till I get better. Afte all, that is what the doctor did say.
"You sure?" He asks again, and I nod. "Well, in that case then, I don't see any reason for you not to go with me tomorrow." This made me open my eyes, confused I asked, "What? Where are we going tomorrow?"
"Silent Mound High of course!" He exclaims, "You're still going to have that interview you know. That's why we're going there tomorrow, so I could enroll you."
"I didn't still agree that I would school there! In fact, I didn't agree at all." I spat, "Dad, I don't wanna spend my last highschool year here in this hideous place!"
"What do you mean 'hideous place' ? Lucy, I don't think there's anything hideous here in Silent Mound, well except the town's name of course but-"
"What? You mean you haven't seen anything suspicious? Like, people dressing the same color at the mall as if there's some dress code?" I yell in exasperation, "Or people acting weird and staring at you like you're some alien?"
"People dressing the same color of clothes?" Randy mused, "Well, that's something you don't see everyday." The urge of punching him was very high, I suggest he should shut up if he wants to live.
"Yeah, you're just exaggerating Lucy. Why would they stare at you like that? Maybe you had something in your face?" Dad spoke. "Or your hair." Randy adds.
"Shut it." I hissed at him. "I won't be going to that school or any other school here in Silent Mound. Can't we all just go back to our real home and just forget about this place?"
"Like I told you Lucy, we can't go back 'till that house that burned down is fixed, and the criminal is caught." Dad sighs, "I have a hunch that police are still looking whoever burned the house."
"Which reminds me hun," Mom added, her voice loud enough to head from the kitchen, "We have to leave, the police said they found leads about the criminal. They want to talk to us too."
This made my palms go cold and sweaty. The police are still looking whoever burned the house down, meaning they're still looking for me. What's worse, they found leads.
"You okay babe? You seem pale." Randy spoke, with a hint of amusement. "N-nothing, I think I need to retire, or those medicines I drank this morning won't cure this glaucoma of mine." I ramble, cursing myself for sounding nervous.

I stood up and slowly made my way to the stairs. I was about to climb up, when I felt an arm wrap itself around my waist. I let out a gasp of surprise.
"Want assistance?" Randy offers in a whisper, I lowered my head. "N-no need, I can take care of myself," I muttered.
"Sure babe! I'll help you." I frowned. I didn't need his help, and what's more, why does he have to yell like we're mountains away?
That question was answered soon when I felt like someone was watching us. Dad. Of course, the bastard had to show that he's boyfriend material. Which he isn't.
Anyways, I just let him help me up the stairs. I let out a small shriek once my foot slipped, but Randy's hand caught my wrisy. "Whoa, careful!" His arm around my waist, steadying me.
With a ragged breath, I removed his hand around my waist, but he doesn't want to let go of my wrist. So, we continued to climb up the stairs.
By the time we got in my room, Randy closed the door. I sat down on the soft surface of the bed. We both stayed quite for awhile, 'till I spoked first. "Well?"
Hearing him sigh, made me raise an eye brow. What is he up to now? "I-I'm sorry." He apologized, "I'm sorry what I did earlier this afternoon."
"What?" I asked, not because I didn't hear him, because I wanted to hear it leave his mouth again.
"I'm sorry Lucy, sorry for what have done," He muttered, "I didn't even know what I was doing. I guess my anger and jealousy took over me."
I can't help but ask, "Really? You weren't trying to kill me?" This made him chuckle, which is actually scary. "Kill you? Now why would I do that?" Randy laughs.
"Y-you choked me, you tried to k-kill me!" I stammered, "You were s-scaring me."
"Lucinda, babe," He mumbled, placing a hand on my thigh, making me jump a little. It breaks my heart doing this to him, but he deserves it.
"Babe," He spoke in soft voice, he sounded broken. I turned around, not wanting to look at him. Turning away from his blurred figure, he took in a sharp breath.
"Please Lu, talk to me." I almost smiled at the nickname, it was the same nickname he first used the first time we met back when we were in 11th grade.
"I-I, I don't know Randy..."
"You don't know what babe?" He questions, the next thing I said must've scared him. "I think we have to end this kind of relationship we have."
And it did. "W-what?! Lucinda, no! No, you can't. We can't. I-I love you so much," He rambles, I shook my head. "This relationship, it's not good for both of us." I spoke.
"Good for us? Lucinda, there was no problem between us, I-I was just drove by my anger yesterday." He says, "I didn't what I was doing. The thought of you with another man, was enough to drive me to the roof!"
"Another man?" I shook my head in disbelief, "You still don't beliee me don't you? I didn't have any other man! Except a demon who wanted to kill and kiss me at the same time."

"Lu, how many times do I have to tell you? There are no such things as devils or ghost!" Randy's voice suddenly raise, I hope mom and dad already left.
"There are in this town. His name is-" He cuts me off, "Stop, please Lucinda, stop." He kisses my forehead, which caught me off guard, "Stop saying things that are not true."
"Randy, I-" He cuts me off again by pressing his lips against mine roughly. I tried to pry him off of me, but he wouldn't budge. He grabs both of my hands and pins both above my head. "Get..off," I manage to say, but he wouldn't listen. His lips trailed down my jaw and down to my neck.
I gasp when he sucks the skin behind my ear. He groaned while his hand made it's way up my thigh and slips inside my shirt. To say I was nervous was an understatement when I felt his huge bulge against my stomach.
"Randy, please...stop this." I whimpered, pleading for him to stop. What's making it worse, I am a virgin. I told him that one time, but it seems to me he forgot about it.
Then again, I wouldn't give it to this bastard. No, I wouldn't allow it to happen. And, he seems to be distracting me, I won't let them make me stupid again. Not anymore.
Just when I felt his hand about to kneed my breast, I lifted my knee and used it to kick him where he needed me. Where the it hurts the most. He groans in pain before I push him off of me.
I stood up and wildly look for the door, "Lucinda!" Randy yells, making me panic. I finally found the knob of the door, turning it I stumbled out.
I frantically ran down the stairs, making me stumble the last two steps. Groaning in pain when my knee hit the ground hard, I stood up slowly. The lights in the living room were turned off, meaning mom and dad already left.
Well, isn't that just great. "Lucinda!" I heard Randy yell in anger, I ran wherever my legs took me to. I ended up in a dark room, which is probably the kitchen or the dinning.
My hands clumsily toppled something metal, making it fall down to the floor with a loud noise. I crouch down, hoping I wouldn't be seen.
I gasp lightly when my fingers touched something cold, and metal. I lifted it and ran my index finger across the metal surface. Once my finger reach it's end, it was sharp. It was a knife. I am in the kitchen.
"Oh, Lu!" Randy called out in a playful but annoyed voice. "If you just show yourself, I'll probably forgive you from that little stunt back there."
I gripped the knife tightly, as I slowly crawl to my left. With no sight, there was no option but to close my eyes. My hearing senses hightening.
Hearing Randy's footsteps, I focused on it. He was outside the kitchen, probably in the living room. His footsteps, were slightly disappearing.
"Come on Lu, I'll not hurt you," He spoke, but it wasn't promising. "I'll forget that stunt you did earlier and that boy who you met after our little trip from town."
My eyes widen in surprise, he saw Harry? How? I thought Harry chooses who he wanted to see him?
As if to answer the questions in my head, Randy chuckled. "Yeah, I saw him. Is that the guy name Harry? Is he the little shit you replaced me with?" If Harry were here, he would be long dead right now. Randy's footsteps were getting closer now, making me beads of sweat to form on my forehead.
And once again, where the fuck is Harry when you need him?
I screamed once I was pulled up by the collar of my shirt. The first thing I did was to lift my knife, and hit him with it. He screamed in pain, "You little bitch! You won't get away for cutting my cheek!"
I ran out the kicthen, Randy chasing behind me. Running up the stairs, I tripped. He used it to grab my leg, "You bitch! You'll never see daylight again!" I kicked him with my other feet and crawl up the stairs.
Once I reached the top, he wrapped his arm around my neck, choking me for the second time this day. "You think you could get away, huh?" He whispers.
"L-let me go!" I choked out, trying to pry his hands away. "No!" He screams, "You will die, I won't commit the same mistake by letting you live now. I should've stop you from meeting him."
"W-who?"
"Harry Styles." He spat, how did he know his name? "But no worries, he's not here to save you now." He forced me to turn around and face him. "H-how did you know him?"
The devil can be anybody sweetheart, he can even be in your family, or your love ones. Harry's words echoed in my ear. He once told me that.
This made the devil laugh, "I looked him up, and it looks like what you said was true. And now is the time for you to join him. Die!"
He choked me even harder, making me gasp for air. But, I was quicker. The knife was still in my hands. Without any second wasted, I stab him.
The grip around my neck disappeared, before I heard a body rolling down the stair. I looked down at my hand where the knife was. There was a bright red color covering my hand and the sharp tool. It was blood.
I gasp in utter disbelief and the knife fell from my hands. I walked down the stair, seeing the body now on lying on the floor, I rushed to it.
Randy was coughing, blood coming out of his lips. "Randy!" I shrieked, "I'm s-so sorry."
"Lu?" He breathes, grabbing my hand in his. "I-I'm sorry...I-I..." He spoke, and before I knew it, he stopped breathing, his chest wasn't moving. I gasped and shook my head. What have a done? And it was official, I am a criminal. I am a killer now, just like Harry.

Rise of an Undead in a Fantasy World
Have you ever wondered what would happen if an undead being that doesn't know what it is like to be alive got free will? What would that undead creature do? How would they think? How would they view the world around them? Would they see life as futile and conquer the world, making it a lifeless danger zone to all living beings? Well, none of that matters, because that's not happening. Our main character is your average gamer from the modern world, yada yada yada... gets transported to a fantasy world through obscure means, blah blah blah... you know how this works. What separates him from the masses, however, are his views on ethics, and world politics. ... Oh, and the fact that he doesn't need to breathe. Message From Author! Accept?: Yes No This is only my second novel, so keep that in mind. I will try to keep the quality of the story to an acceptable level. This means something that I, myself would read. The quantity, however, may put some people off. Adding onto the whole "villainous lead" thing, I will make sure to have the character develop into that perfect little villain over time, instead of starting him out as a bloodthirsty murder-hobo. Of course, there will still be a lot of murdering and he may be a hobo for some of it, but it will mostly not be out of malice in the very early chapters. Last but not least, I have decided there will not be a defined release schedule for this, as I have lost interest in forcing myself to upload x amount of times a week. I will upload whenever I get a good idea, and take my time. That is, if I even feel like writing in the first place. Instead of taking breaks from this novel to do my own thing, I will take breaks from my daily life to post on here. Also, I'm lazy. Thanks for reading, and if you're alright with everything above, feel free to give it a read, and without further ado, have a good one! - Your Author P.S.: I will have little to no romance in the story, as I can't bring myself to writing it, so you don't have to worry about harems.

An eye that serves a purpose but nothing in exchange for his freedom. Will he remain as a tool of his adversary or escape from his own shackles of fate? This is a story of two old men trying to free from the shackle of their destiny set in a future only to await their impending doom. This is a story of a dead god, and of a storyteller, trying to break from the bonds of the past. And as their stories go, one of them will face the events that unfold in their distant past, as the other one will unveil its mystery predicted by its future. Is it a mistake to challenge fate, after all? *** The world-building is set upon on the universal scale, with dungeon and old-style fantasy. It has a progression that follows with the consistency of a dungeon setting, although it's not what you call a dungeon, but a function of a crystal. There's a lot to take in this novel, but that's all within my intention. I have always enjoyed challenging conventional ideas. The cover is not mine, it's just temporary.
