•Chapter Forty-one•

I blinked once the thunder claps, followed by the lightning flashing. It was raining here in Silent Mound, and there was nothing to do at the moment. Mom and dad went to the market, while Randy's asleep upstairs in his room. Sitting down on the couch for two hours was already enough to make my butt sore. Yawning in complete boredom, I stood up.

Mom told me to just relax or sleep, which is easy for her to say. It's not her who's bored and craving for something interesting to happen. If she only knew what life is for a woman who's eye sight is blurry. Oh, how would she know? She's a complete airhead, and she's not the one who is suffering from poor eye sight shit.

After my encounter with Harry yesterday, I didn't come out of my room. I didn't even came down for dinner. Let's just say that my day was stressful, due to Randy's unexpected topic about marraige, and that Harry's visit made my day worst. I thought he was going to 'leave me alone'? Maybe yesterday was his last visit, since he never appeared again after my recent encounter with him.

The blurriness of my vision seem to slowly disappear after taking medicines that the doctor prescribed, the blurriness seem to fade. But then again, I am not sure if this disadvantage of mine will fade or will stay. After all, who knows?

"Fuck it." I hissed in pain once my foot collided with something hard. I guess my foot has been attracted to things since the day I got this blurred vision. I continued walking, cautiously trying not to hit my foot again, maybe if I'm lucky, I'll make it to the kitchen in one piece. If only I am lucky.

I maneuvered my way, 'till the bright color of the kitchen's walls greeted me, much to my delight and relief. I extended my hand and reached for the fridge's handle. Opening it, I grab a cold box which I suppose is milk. After closing the fridge, I open the small box and drank it's contents. Yup, it was indeed milk.

My drink was almost empty, when I heard something heavy rolling down, probably the stairs, and dropped somewhere in the living room. I stopped short and listened. I waited for any sound to come, but none came. What the hell was that?

After disposing the empty drink, I made my way again back to the living room to inspect what made that noise. "Curse this." My ears picking up Randy's voice right away, he sounded pissed off. "Randy? What happened?" I ask worriedly.

"This box, it came from the attic and your dad wants me to throw it away." He spoke. "He says it's probably trash. I woke up from my nap, remembering what he requested, so I took it out from the attic and carried it down here. But it turns out, it fell out of my hands and rolled down the stairs." I looked down, seeing a wooden box. It didn't look heavy, considering it's size, but sometimes looks are deceiving. Even boxes.

"Did you try opening it?" I asked, kneeling down to touch the box. My fingers came contact with the dust covering its surface, but what capture my attention was the engravings carved on it. "Randy, can you look at these engravings?" I asked, and he looked down. " It's vines, and a huge heart is carved in the middle. And look, there are letters in the center of the heart, it looks like initials Lucy."

"Initials? What is it then?" I question, eager to know what it is. This seems interesting.

"It's J.S. Lucy."

J.S.? I wonder what that means, it could be anything. It could be Jennifer Stans, or Jonah Stanley. It could anybody. "Can you open it?" I question. Randy was silent for a split second, I can tell he was finding a way how to open it. "Nope, it seems this box needs a key. Too bad, I wanted to find out what's inside that caused it's heavy weight."

"Well, without a key we'll never know." I sigh, "I guess there's no use, but let's just place it back in the attic, the owner may come and find it sooner or later." I suggested, but there was another reason behind why I wanted to keep the box. I want to find the key and perhaps find something interesting about this town, or the old owners of this house.

"You want to keep this old thing? Why? It's old and useless, and your dad wants it thrown away. What would he do if he finds out I didn't do his request and you kept it?" He sounded nervous. Well, I can't blame him. Dad is sweet and all, but you don't want to see his bad side.

"Nothing, he won't do anything. I'll do the explaining to him, you just have to act cool." I reassured him, standing up straight, he followed. I heard him sigh, "Fine, fine. If that's what you want." He picks up the box and slowly place it somewhere dad wouldn't find, my room.

While waiting for Randy I looked out the window, the rain seem to have stop, but not the thunder. Back when I was a child, I used to be afraid of thunder. Mom often brings me hot chocolate and my blanket to calm me down. I smiled at the memory, it wasn't so hard back then. I was carefree back then. When mom wasn't a b*tch.

I almost jumped out of my skin when I felt arms snaking around my waist, feeling plump lips kissing below my ear. My spine tingled both in nervousness and pleasure. "Hi babe." Randy whispers closely. My eyes close in pure ecstasy when those plump lips sucked the skin under my ear.

"Tell me who I am." He orders, playing with my hair, while his tongue licks the sensitive spot that I didn't even knew that it existed. "Tell me babe, who I am to you?"

Without warning, his name fell out of my lips. "Harry..."

Stay beautiful guys. :)
