Sorry to leave you all with a crappy chapter and a frustrating cliffhanger. :( To those who wanted me dead :3 if I die, there won't be an update anymore! :P So, anyways, here's the update huns! Enjoy! :D
•Chapter Thirty-five•
I watch as he disappear into the night, into the dark forest. Everything seem to went in slow motion as he disappear, it was like, he made my time run, like he was the battery for my clock. Cheesy, but it's true, and I hate to admit it.
My arm was grabbed, that made me snap out of my thoughts, my body spun around. My eyes met the harsh light coming from a huge flashlight that was aimed directly at my face, making me squint. "Are you Lucinda May Mackenzie?" Asked an authoritative voice that belongs to a man.
"Y-yes, I am." I stammered in fear, fear of not knowing who this man is and why he's asking me if I am Lucinda. The flashlight was suddenly aimed away from my face, my eyes took time to adjust to the dark surroundings again, thanks to this guy. I was about to ask who he was, when my sight caught a familiar face, blurry sight or not, I knew who is running towards me. With her blonde hair bouncing as she ran, I was soon engulf in a hug by no other than, my mom.
"Lucinda!" She exclaim in relief as she wraps me in her arms, "Thank God you're safe." She mumbled in my ear. It took my brain for a moment to register what is happening. My mom, hugging me to death, weeping on my shoulder. As six policemen, each holding a flashlight, searching behind trees, or tall long grasses. Probably...
Probably finding for Harry.
"See anything unusual?" I heard one policeman ask the other, which he shook his head in reply. "Negative Sir, the suspect probably heard us coming and ran."
"Search the area a bit more, and tell me your findings." One ordered, probably the leader of this squad. "Yes Sir!" They all replied in unison, and scattered, searching for any clues in the forest. My mom parted from the hug to look at me from head to toe. Tears brimming in her eyes that she carelessly wipe away. "Are you okay? You look exhausted!" She spoke, rubbing my arm, trying to comfort me. But I don't need her sympathy, or her concern.
I didn't answer her, and she frowned. Probably because I didn't answer her right away, and I wasn't in the mood to give her one. "Baby, what's wrong? Your dad and I were so worried about yo-" She trailed off when I chuckled.

"What's so funny?" She questions, and this made me laugh more. I must be deranged or something, laughing when there's nothing to laugh about. "You? You were worried?" I ask, laughing a bit more when her frown deepen. "Lucinda-"
"Don't." I held up a hand, silencing her. "Don't start mom, don't start acting like you cared for me. Because you didn't!" I hissed, and she grimace. "I care for you Lucinda, you're my daughter. Don't tell and act like I am a heedless person."
"Really? You don't act like a mother to me." I spoke with virulence, making her gasp like she heard me spread a gossip about her that will disgrace our family.
"Lucy..." She wailed in anguish, wanting me to pity her, to forgive her for the lies she has told me, but I am smarter than that. "Don't 'Lucy' me, mom." I said, sorrow evident on her face and a tear escape my eye, I looked down.
"I gave you a chance to, but clearly you don't deserve it." I mutter under my breath. "Miss Mackenzie." I looked up when my name was called, a policeman stood in front of us. It was him, the one that owns the authoritative voice that never seems to make me shiver.
"Yes?"
"We would like to you about your kidnapper." Kidnapper? Did someone saw Harry? Did they see Harry picking me up and carrying me to the outskirts of town? If so, then how? "Please follow me." He orders, I took a one last look at my mom, before following him. He leads me through the forest which is now filled with policemen, and we end up in front of some kind of highway.
A lot of police cars were parked on the side walk, as red and blue lights seem to flash before my eyes, even an ambulance, and I caught sight of my dad figure who was busy talking, maybe on his phone. "Dad!?" I yelled in happiness.
He immediately turns around to face me, a smile creeping up his face. He ran towards me, with open arms. "Lucy!" He beams, embracing me with his wide arms. I buried my face into his warm chest, "Dad..." I breathed, a tear rolling down my cheek.
Oh how much I missed my dad. I doubted him, which was so wrong of me. I felt bad for thinking that he would cheat on us, my dad wouldn't go that low for that. He's too good enough for us. "I missed you my princess." He spoke, and I parted from the hug as I try to look at him clearly. I lifted my hand to touch his face.

He has aged, as I can a feel few wrinkles on his eyes, even if my blurry sight can only see limitedly, but I was sure I saw a few white hairs. "Dad, you've aged!" I somewhat joked to enlighten the mood, and he cackled.
"Me and your mom aged for the last four days you went missing, we thought..." He trailed off, his voice breaking at the end, tears brimming his eyes. I looked at dad with sorrow, he thought that I was dead. When I have been with Harry. The bastard that I thought cared for me. Demons are heedless, they know nothing about care, goodness, or even, love.
Before I could even talk to him further, I was called again. I turn to see the policeman, "Mr. Mackenzie, may we question Miss Lucinda for awhile?" The man asks, and dad nodded without hesitation, but it was clear in his eyes that he still wanted to talk to me.
"I'll be back dad, don't worry." I whispered and he nods. "Go ahead Lucy." He smiles and I smiled back before following the policeman again.

I huffed in anger once he let me go, he just asked stupid questions about me and my 'kidnapper'. I told them about Harry, but he just laughed at me, telling me that I was too mature to share them ghost stories. When, I was telling the truth.
"I have live here for my whole life, nothing wrong, things that concern ghost and other paranormal things aren't my type sweetheart." I remembered him telling me, laughing hard at my 'story'. I just wanted to yell at him, tell him that I spoke the truth, but I know I can't risk it. After interrogating me, some nurses took me to the ambulance for a quick check up, and with my dad, they told him my condition.
"You're daughter is fine, which is surprising, but once we checked her eye, it seems to me, that her sight is blurry." I heard the nurse say, "Am I right Miss Lucinda?" I nodded, and dad gasps. "Is that true Lucy? Your sight is blurry?" He questions, voice full of alarm.
"Yes dad, it is true." I answered, and I heard him sight. "We should go to an eye specialist once we head back to town, okay?" I nod, it was true that I was already irritated that I can't see clearly liked I used to, but it's the price I had to pay for burning the house down, or possibly, the whole neighborhood. Speaking of houses, now that the house is burned, where are we going to live? Are we moving to a new town? A lot of questions in my mind that I wanted to be answered, but will they be answered?
So, here we are now, we were now driving back to Silent Mound. Me, dad, and my silent mom who is just staring at the window. Dad was driving, eyes focused on the road, while I just looked at the both of them. They didn't spoke to one another, which I knew what the reason was.
"Lucy." Dad spoke, and my attention diverted at him, "Yes dad?" I asked.
"School is starting next week." He starts, "Maybe, we could enroll you here, we saw a few schools here and they look nice enough for you." What the actual fuck was that? "Dad, are you serious?" I asked, I must have heard it wrong. Here? In this twisted horrifying town? There's a school here? And, what if the students are also weird like the people I have encountered?
"Education is important, especially you. Now you are in your the last year before you go to college." Mom spoke and I mentally glared at her, who told her she could talk? Does she think I will still listen to her after she told me lies?
But before I could ask what they mean, dad gave me a look that made my heart ache. A look that causes me to obey whatever they told me to do. I folded my arms on my chest and sighed. "Fine." Since this is my last year, I better go to school, even if it's in this crooked town, in this crooked world, and my crooked life.
But one question is, will I survive even here in Silent Mound? Now that Harry is gone, and we are no longer in the house, what will I do? And, will he even show up again?
Yeah guys, plot twist! I know you're happy that this didn't end in a cliffhanger. So yeah! :D Lucinda is going to school! Hehehe, don't worry this is just milestone for Lucy that I have in mind. Before telling me that this chapter or last chapter was 'trash' please understand that I have school, a life, and I am trying to update for you all.
