Karl held a wooden box in his hands, closing the lid on the box after finishing up fixing it. He was going to surprise his lover today with a surprise he knew he would love.
He walked over to where Jimmy sat at the kitchen counter looking on his phone, the afternoon sun highlighting the side of his face. The rays were golden, making the tips of his hair gold. He smiled softly, seeing how handsome his lover was.
"Hey Jimmy. I have a surprise for you." Jimmy looked up and to the right where Karl lingered a couple feet away from him. He smiled and waved at him, placing his phone down onto the counter.
"Hey babe." He smiled as he walked closer to him, the box in his hands in front of him. He looked down at the box and turned his chair to face him. "What is it?"
"You'll see." He placed the box into Jimmy's open hands, fidgeting with his hands. He was giddy with excitement but also fear, his mind wandering to some dark thoughts but he pushed them away, not wanting to go there.
Jimmy lifted the lid and studied the contents in it. He picked up the test and held it up to look at the results a little clearer. A smile started to slowly form on his face, looking up at Karl as he lowered the test.
"You serious?" Karl nodded, feeling hands wrap around his waist and pull him in. He shrieked, laughing as Jimmy nuzzled his face into the crook of his neck. What Karl wasn't expecting was a choked cry come from him. His mood dropped, wondering why he was crying.
"Karl." Jimmy took his face out of his neck, a smile still on his face. Tears left streaks on his pale cheeks, disappearing into his beard. Karl cocked his head, wiping away his tears as he felt tears gather in his eyes.
"I'm crying because I'm happy. We're having a baby, Karl! A mini you or me will be running around this house." Karl smiled, tears streaming down his cheeks. Jimmy cooed at him like he was a baby, letting Karl climb onto his lap. He leaned back to support Karl and cradled his body like he was a fragile piece of glass.
Love filled the air that surrounded them, making anyone who would be around them smile. The way they looked at each other was obvious to anyone they were dating, so much love and happiness filled their eyes when their special person walked into their site.
Jimmy leaned down to kiss his forehead, his warm lips leaving a mark on the skin. Karl felt safe with him, always had. with his gentle holds and soft warm kisses that could warm his body up in seconds.
"Hey, I don't think this is okay for the baby." Karl took his head off his shoulder and looked at him, widening his eyes in realization. Jimmy leaned forward and let Karl get off his body safety then letting go of him. He got off the chair and swooped him into a hug, letting him get comfortable before wrapping his arms gently around his body.
"You'll make a good father." Jimmy's lips were right by Karl's ear, his warm breath making him shiver. He nuzzled his nose into the crook of his neck, embarrassment of the sweet comment taking over him. Jimmy cooed again, chuckling quietly at his reaction.
"Baby." His hand rubbed his back, the voice soft. A whine came from Karl, making Jimmy laugh. He rubbed his back and held his hips, leaning his head over onto his.

"Love you." Mumbling his words, Jimmy could barely hear it but he did. He smiled and kissed his head, leaning his head back onto his.
"Love you too, babe."

"What if we had twins?" Jimmy picked up his head to look at Karl who asked the question, his lips forming into a straight line.
"Karl, don't scare yourself. We will find out how many babies are growing inside of you in just a few moments." He wakes over to Karl and patted his knee, looking around the room they were in. Medical supplies lined the walls with models of baby in wombs with how many weeks it represented. Karl looked around the room too and stretched his arms over his head.
"But wouldn't it be cool? One mini you and one mini me? Or two mini you?" He chuckled in response, looking back over at his boyfriend.
"You really want twins?" Karl nodded, looking down at his nails, picking at the chipping nail polish. Jimmy wrapped his arm around his shoulders and squeezed it.
"You're adorable."
"Don't you want twins?" He shrugged, looking down at the boy's hands. He always wanted to have two kids, no more than that. It would get the process of waiting for two kids over with but he really didn't care. He would love them either way, single or twins.
"I don't care, Karl. Do you think you're carrying twins?" Just as he said that, the lady walked into the room and smiled at them. Jimmy kissed his head quickly and walked away, standing close by Karl who brought his head up.
"Hi. I'm Dr. Patter. I'll be looking over your pregnancy until you give birth." Karl nodded and she waved at him to lay down while she put on her gloves. "So, first ultrasound huh? Excited?"
"Yeah. I'm also nervous. I got a question to ask though." The doctor walked over to him and lifted up his shirt, setting up the ultrasound machine. She nodded and hummed, letting his ask his question.
"Can you detect twins this early on?" She thought about it for a bit, trying her best to word it.
"The earliest we can detect twins is between 10 and 14 weeks. Since you are 8 weeks I'm guessing, we can't detect them yet. In about two weeks, we most likely can." He nodded and thanked her. She grabbed some gel and positioned herself to aim right on top Karl's stomach.
"Warning, this will be cold." She squirted a good amount on it, making Karl shiver from the cold. She grabbed the wand and placed it down onto his stomach, pushing down a little and moving around. Once she found what she was looking for, she turned the monitor towards them as Jimmy got closer to Karl. What showed on the screen was a little smudge that represented the baby. She flipped a switch and a loud heartbeat started to fill the room, toning it down a little. Jimmy grabbed his hand and held it as they were both memorized by the sound. The doctor smiled at them and looked at the screen again.
"That's your baby. Sounding and looking strong." She said as she flipped a switch so the heartbeat stopped. Karl looked at Jimmy and smiled, tears threatening to overspill. Kissing the back of his hand, he smiled and looked back at the screen. She took the wand off and put it away, handing him a napkin to wipe the gel off. Karl sat up and grabbed the napkin offered, wiping the gel off.

"Here are some vitiams I want you to be taking for the whole journey of your pregnancy. Every appointment will follow every Tuesday until you give birth. Here's a list of food that is good and bad for you and your baby. Are there any other questions?" Karl shook his head as Jimmy helped him off the table. She nodded and smiled, taking her gloves off as she walked towards the door. They walked hand and hand to the door as the doctor left the door open for them as she left. They walked out the building and to the car, starting it up and driving home.

Karl walked up to his boyfriend while he was in the warehouse looking over the sets, helping out here and there. He tapped his shoulder and was met with Jimmy's face.
"Hi, guess what I found out." Jimmy smiled at him and walked with Karl as they walked away from the people. He watched his boyfriend grab his hand and pull him towards the opposite side of the warehouse where less people were working.
"Whatcha found out?" Jimmy asked as Karl turned around to face him.
"We're having twins." A gasp came from Jimmy as he wrapped Karl up in a gentle hug, lifting him off the floor a little.
"Oh my god, Karl. That's amazing." The little happy moment was ruined as Jimmy placed Karl down when realization hit him. "Oh god, we're having twins. Two babies at once. And both of us don't have experience." Karl nodded and crossed his arms over his chest, exhaling while staring at the man who started to pace a little, mumbling to himself.
"At least we have the money and time." Jimmy snorted as he looked at Karl, shaking his head. He kept pacing, fearing the boy.
"Oh right, you won't be here most of time." Karl felt guilty but why? Was it that he feared the children won't have their second father around as much, letting the children forget about him or was it that he was going to be busy too, with his countless jobs and friends that took up a lot of his time? He walked up to the man and wrapped his arms around him, stuffing his face into his neck as he started to sob. Immediately arms were wrapped around him, bringing in the reinsurance.
"Hey hey, we can do this. We will just take it as it comes." Sure it didn't calm his nerves, but he hoped it calmed down Karl's. He kept hugging him, staring off into the distance while resting his can on top of Karl's head. After a few moments, he calmed down and pushed off Jimmy's chest. He looked up at the man and smiled, showing him that he was feeling better.
"Go back home and rest. I'll see you in about an hour. I love you." He kissed his head, patting his back and pushing him forward gently. Karl nodded and waved at everyone else in the warehouse before waving at this boyfriend and leaving.
______________
While he waited for another contraction to take over, he looked around the bathroom. Empty as his soul felt without Jimmy to help him. He had been trying to call and text him all day while he had the contractions but he wouldn't pick up the phone. He left him a voicemail on his last call, begging Jimmy to pick up the phone and come home before his children was brought into the world. Another contraction started to ride his body and he groaned, pushing again.
Tears started to leave streaks on his cheeks, pain obvious in his face. He didn't want to do this alone, feeling guilty for not holding the babies in before their father got home. He wanted Jimmy to be there to comfort him and help bring their babies into the world. He hissed when the baby's head emerged from the birth canal, fire like pain licking his body.
On his last push, the baby popped out. Karl sighed and leaned forward to pick up the baby, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around the baby's body. He grabbed a tool to help clear out the guck in the baby's airways. When it was cleared, a scream started to bubble out of the baby. Squirming around in the towel as Karl leaned back to rest against where he was when giving birth. He stroked the dark wet hair on the baby's head, looking like Jimmy which stabbed him in the heart. He should've been here to see the birth but it was too late.
A contraction started to attacked his body, pushing down immediately. He forgot about the baby that was resting against his bump which held his other sibling. When Karl stopped pushing, he picked up the baby and put them on the rug outside the tub. He smiled weakly when they looked all sleepy in the big towel that engulfed him. Another contraction started to bubble up, reminding him about the other baby he had to push out. He started to push, this birth being easier than the one before.
"Jimmy." He whined, pushing again. Why did this have to happen to him? Why couldn't he give birth later when Jimmy was there to help him out? He would gladly stay pregnant just to give birth another time. He started to scream on his last push, wanting so bad to be done but feeling guilty for feeling that. He sighed when he felt the baby exit his body, pushing himself up to grab his baby. He grabbed the tool on the edge of the bathtub and started to clean up the baby.
A whine started to erupt from the baby, a warning before exploding. Crying at the top of their lungs, not used to the new environment that they were thrown into, so cold and spacious rather than the warm, tight space in their mother's womb. Karl smiled, tears overfilling his eyes and he brought them up to his chest. He laid them down, letting the baby find their comfort spot and calm down. Sitting up while cradling the baby on his chest carefully, he looked over at the baby on the floor. Karl laid the baby on his chest against his legs so they could be supported. He scooped up the baby on the floor and laid them against his chest. He picked up the baby on his legs with one hand and leaned them against his chest. Leaning back, he unwrapped the towel around the first baby and shared it with the other baby.
He grabbed a face towel and started to clean up their faces to better be able to see their cute faces. He threw the towel to the other side of the bathroom, deciding to clean it up later. He grabbed his phone and decided to call Chris since Jimmy wasn't picking up the phone.

A ringtone interrupted the recording, Jimmy groaning and turning to Chris.
"Answer the phone." Chris nodded and fished his phone out of his pocket, looking at the caller ID.
"It's Karl." Jimmy looked at him, waving at the camera men to stop filming. Chris answered the phone and put it on speaker phone, hearing rustling on the other side.
"Hello?' Chris asked, looked at his phone. Jimmy was close to him, practically side by side with Chris. He heard more rustling before a sigh.
"Is Jimmy there?" Karl asked.
"Hey love, what do you need?"
"Why weren't you answering your phone?"
"It died a while back and no one has a charger. Why, what happened?"
"Well, just a few minutes ago our babies was born. You're a dad." They could hear the smile in his voice as he said that, Jimmy looking at Chris and gasping. Chris's mouth was agape, looking at Jimmy.
"I'm coming home, okay? I'll see you in about ten minutes." They said their byes and Chris congratulated Karl before hanging up. He hugged Jimmy, patting his back.
"Congrats man. Go home and spend time with Karl and your new babies." Jimmy nodded and ran out the warehouse, getting pats on the back and shoulder as he went. He grabbed his stuff and made it to his car, throwing it into the back seat. He drove himself home rather quickly, grabbing his stuff and turning his car off. He ran to the house and let himself in, closing the door and throwing the stuff onto the couch. He ran to the bathroom and met the scene. His lover laying in the bathtub with their babies on his chest, looking at the their faces. He went over to them and sat down next to the bathtub. He looked at his children, deciding to live in the moment rather than talk.

A young, talented, and aspiring archer makes his way to the Olympic Archery Qualifiers; however an accident prevents him from ever making it. An accident which took the final years of his adolescence, his dream of ever becoming an Olympic Gold Archer, and most importantly someone who meant the world to him. Rehabilitating for a year in a hospital, the despair and dread of being alone and having nothing left worth living for finally got to him. Finding his way to the rooftop, he decided fall, but where he expected death, something else appeared; a blue message. A chill and simple LitRPG story that I just wanted to write. Note: I write with the Dark Theme setting, so if I make a colour mistake it’s probably why. I also strangely prefer using the Imperial System to measure Height, while I use the Metric System for almost everything else (Canadian by the way).
