"I know Jaden. I know." Chandler whispered to the crying boy on his shoulder. He walked the streets of North Carolina, practically homeless. It was worse since he had to take care of a toddler and also being pregnant. Yup, he found he was pregnant when he came to North Carolina. He took a pregnancy test in a gas station and behold, two lines.
You might wondered where the car is. The battery died on him and he didn't have enough money to repair it. He kept the money he had to get food for him and Jaden. He wished he stayed in Georgia, but Drake kept on popping up in his head every time he thought of Georgia. Bad memories always clouded his mind when he thought of Drake. Oh he wished he could-
"Excuse me sir, are you ok?" Someone's voice called out. He turned around to see a tall man with brown hair that was covered by a hat.
"No. I need help." Chandler spoke as his son cried louder. He rubbed Jaden's back and hummed softly to him.
"Well, you can spend the night at my place. I usually don't do this, but you clearly have a child and I don't want you or that child to get hurt." The man spoke. Chandler nodded and the man smiled softly at him.
"We're actually five minutes away from my place, so we can walk there. Is that alright?" The man asked. Chandler nodded and they started walking to the man's place.
"I didn't catch what your name was." Chandler asked the man who was walking next to him.
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name's Jimmy." Jimmy spoke.
"Well, my name is Chandler. And this is my son, Jaden." Chandler spoke and directed the last sentence to the boy on his chest. Jaden lifted his head up and Jimmy smiled softly at him. Jaden looked at him and waved awkwardly at him, before placing his head back onto Chandler's shoulder.

"So, sorry if this sounds rude or anything, but what are you doing out in the streets?" Jimmy asked. Chandler sighed and kept rubbing Jaden's back.
"Divorced my cheating husband and fled the state. Came here and have no place to stay." Chandler spoke. Jimmy nodded, listening to Chandler.
"Well, this is my place." Jimmy clapped his hands together as they stood in front of a house. Chandler smiled at Jimmy and nodded. Jimmy opened the door and let them inside the house.
"Thank you." Chandler spoke as he stood in living room, rubbing Jaden's back and looking around the room. Jimmy came over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"You're welcome and I will like to give you this." Jimmy spoke, handing Chandler about five thousand dollars to him. Chandler gasped and stepped back.
"No, I can't accept that." Chandler spoke and started bouncing up and down when Jaden started to wake up.
"Please take it." Jimmy spoke. Chandler shook his head and put Jaden down on the floor as he started getting antsy from not running around for so long.
"I can't pay you back." Chandler spoke. Jimmy held out Chandler's hand and placed the money in it, then wrapped his fingers around it.
"You don't have to pay me back. I'm just doing this because you need help." Jimmy spoke. Chandler hugged him and Jimmy hesitated, but hugged him back. Jaden looked at them, then went over to Jimmy's leg and hugged it.
"Sorry. Come here Jaden." Chandler apologized and crouched down to Jaden's height and picked him up after detaching Jaden from Jimmy's leg.
"Oh, it's ok. No need to apologize." Jimmy spoke. Chandler nodded at him and smiled softly. Jimmy returned the smile and they fell into an comfortable silence, with Jaden mumbling to himself about something.

"Do you want to go to the guest room, I have?" Jimmy asked after a couple of minutes of silence. Chandler nodded and walked up the stairs after Jimmy to go to the guest room. He started feeling slightly nauseous from moving.
"There you go. Hey, you feeling alright?" Jimmy asked once they got to the guest room. Chandler nodded and placed Jaden down onto the bed. Jaden whined and rubbed his eyes, signaling that he was tried. Chandler placed him by the pillows and put the covers over his body. Jaden yawned and snuggled into the covers, drifting off to sleep.
"I'm fine, Jimmy." Chandler whispered so he wouldn't wake up Jaden. Jimmy sighed and Chandler sat on the bed, hoping to calm down the nausea.
"Alright. Just tell me if you feel bad or something, ok?" Jimmy whispered. Chandler nodded. Why was Jimmy caring about him? He's just a stranger with a child who's homeless to him. Jimmy walked out the door and slowly closed it. Once Chandler heard the door click, he went to the bathroom in the bedroom. He closed the door and went over to the toilet and knelt down in front of it. The nausea came back and Chandler puked in it. He then heard a gasp and a little set of feet running out the door. Oh shit, Jaden. He lifted his head out the toilet and tried to get up off the floor, but that only made the nausea worse and he was back on the floor, puking into the toilet. A hand met his back and Chandler flinched slightly.
"Hey, hey, it's alright. I'm just here to comfort you. Let it out." Jimmy spoke, rubbing his back in soothing circles. Once Chandler was done, he slumped back against the wall and sighed. Jimmy handed him a water bottle and Chandler took it. He then crouched down next to Chandler. He put his hand on Chandler's forehead and Chandler shuddered at the temperature of his hand.
"Sorry. You don't feel warm. Do you want me to bring you to the hospital?" Jimmy asked as he took his hand off Chandler's forehead. Chandler shook his head and sighed.
"The only reason why I threw up was because I'm pregnant." Chandler whispered the last two words and looked down at his lap. He felt tears rise in his eyes. What if Jimmy didn't accept him being pregnant and kicked him out the house? Jimmy's fingers met Chandler's chin and he lifted his head up.
"I'm not mad that you are pregnant. I just want to help you. I don't care if you have cancer or anything, I just want to help you." Jimmy spoke. Chandler's tears fell at his nice words and he wrapped his arms around Jimmy.
"Thank you." Chandler mumbled against Jimmy's shoulder. Jimmy hugged him back and rubbed his back.
"Anything for you, Chandler." Jimmy whispered to Chandler. Chandler hummed and snuggled into the crook of Jimmy's neck.

Hero
Kuren is just your average boy. He's just been asleep for one thousand years. Heroes and grand epics. Kuren doesn't have the time to think about things like that, nor does he really care. Join Kuren as he wanders the fantasy land of Alurca in search of his lost memories and the reasons behind his lengthy slumber. This is sort of a reboot of Anomaly, the first novel I tried to write. I gave up Anomaly after going to college. I thought about going back to it, but... when I look at it now, it's not very good. It was very edgy and not much substance behind that edge. The story wasn't quite going anywhere since I hadn't given the main character a goal. I had planned out a story, but I forgot to to plan out the details between the beginning and end. So this one's for real. Hopefully you won't be disappointed.
