《Here With Me (MrBeast x Reader)》Chapter 12

The next day was passing by so slowly. By the time that I woke up, Jimmy had already left to go film the upcoming video.

I was bored, but I also didn't want to intrude on everything that Jimmy did, so I had declined going along with them. Luckily, I was working a bunch of shifts later this week, so that would keep me busy.

Christmas was also a little over a week away, which was exciting and terrifying. I had been thinking about gift ideas for Jimmy for the past few days and kept coming up empty-handed. What do you get for someone who has enough money for anything?

My Google search history consisted a lot of: "what gifts to buy rich people when you're poor" and other similar variations of the question.

Eventually, one of my friends from back home offered--and came through to the rescue, honestly--to make a digital painting of Jimmy, me, and the rest of the guys. Jimmy had so many pictures and posters on his walls that it seemed like the perfect gift. She was an insanely talented artist, and she said that I just had to pay for the printing cost... on the condition that she got to meet Jimmy one day.

Deal. I'd definitely pay her more than just the printing cost anyway, but I'd literally do anything if it meant not having to stress about his gift anymore.

She was going to make the portrait in the next few days and then send it to me with priority shipping, so it should get to me with time to spare before Christmas.

At least the other guys weren't as rich, so their gifts weren't as difficult to figure out--I also had a huge crush on Jimmy, so his gift had to be special after all that he'd done for me. I spent the rest of the morning on my laptop, browsing through Amazon to figure out some gift ideas.

Before I knew it, it was already the afternoon, so at least online shopping made the time pass by a lot more quickly.

Jimmy had said that the tickets for Spider-Man were for 4pm, and we had dinner reservations at 7pm.

What do I wear for a not-sure-if-this-is-a-date "date"?

I still had some time to figure it out; he had said to dress casual, but since we had dinner reservations, it was somewhat fancy at least, right? It wasn't like we were going to Chipotle or Burger King.

It did make it easier, though, now that I was staying in the same house as Jimmy for my winter break. I could just wait to see what he was going to wear and dress accordingly.

I decided to start getting ready since Jimmy would probably be back soon, so I went to take a shower. When I had dried off, I blow-dried my hair and then decided that I'd wear some makeup for our "date"; luckily, I had brought some makeup with me from my apartment, so I started applying it.

Just as I finished up with my makeup, Jimmy came in through the front door.

"Are you ready for some Spider-Man?" he exclaimed excitedly.

I chuckled. "I'm always ready."

He was definitely dressed very casually in his hoodie and jeans, so that made my life a lot easier.

I made my way over to my clothes and picked out a cute sweater and some skinny jeans.

Jimmy had been standing in the doorway of my room, so I told him, "I need to change."

"Okay," he responded. He didn't move, so I don't know if he was just being cheeky or he didn't realize that I was saying for him to leave. He was grinning, so I had a feeling that it was the former.

I walked over to the door and then slammed it right in his face, laughing. I could hear him laughing from the other side of the door as he finally walked away.

When I finished changing, it was about time to leave for the movie. I looked at myself in the mirror, quickly touching up my hair and makeup.

I walked downstairs, and I saw that Jimmy was sitting on the couch, browsing through his phone.

He looked up as he heard my footsteps coming down the stairs. "Wow."

I was confused. "Wow?"

He almost looked mesmerized. "You look amazing."

I could feel a blush starting to spread across my cheeks. "Thanks."

That was different. He'd never really commented on how I looked before--well, unless you include the time that he said I was beautiful, but then changed it to saying that my laptop was beautiful. I don't think that counts, though, since I'm still not sure whether or not he was referring to me.

When we got to the theater, everything at the concession stand smelled incredible. I wasn't sure if Jimmy wanted popcorn, but I kind of wanted popcorn.

"Do you want any snacks?" he asked. It was like he was reading my mind.

I grinned. "Maybe a small popcorn... we can share if you want. I probably won't eat that much if we're getting dinner after, but it smells so good."

He laughed. "You got it."

I didn't want to assume that Jimmy was paying for everything, so I went to reach for my wallet to pay for the popcorn and drinks.

He grinned. "No, no, I got it. I can't let my date pay for anything."

It took a few seconds for my brain to process what he just said. When he had asked me to the movie and dinner, it sure sounded like a date, but he didn't use the word "date", so this was news to me. He was a freaking nervous wreck when he had asked me last night, so I wondered if he didn't even realize that he hadn't mentioned this being a date.

Or maybe: was he just joking about me being his date? It was hard to read.

I mean, I was hoping that it was a date, so that was fine with me. I was also screaming inside as I came to the realization that Jimmy possibly felt the same way about me that I felt about him.

How had this become my life?

I'm sure I'd been standing there like an idiot for a while. "Thanks... date," I said.

I mentally slapped my forehead; saying "date" at the end made me sound so stupid, but it was apparently my turn to be a nervous wreck now.

He chuckled. "Anytime."

The Spider-Man movie was so cute, and it was so good.

At some point in the middle of the movie, Jimmy had put his arm on the back of my seat, so his arm was basically around me. I didn't notice it for a while, so I wasn't sure exactly how long his arm had been there, but I decided to lean my head against his shoulder, which felt nice... It felt right, and I was hoping that he felt the same.

When the movie finished, we headed back towards the car to head to the restaurant that he had picked for dinner.

"Did you like the movie?" I asked as I sat down in the passenger's seat of his car.

He started the car and then put in the address on his phone GPS. "Yeah, it was good! How about you?"

"I loved it! I love Spider-Man and MJ. They're so cute!" I exclaimed.

"They are! I also loved Mysterio in the movie..." He continued talking about the character, comparing it to what he knew about the comics.

He was such a dork, and I loved it. We spent the rest of the car ride over to the restaurant talking about the movie.

When we finally got to the restaurant, I was happy to see that it was a really trendy, popular Spanish restaurant. There were a ton of people there, many of them waiting for a table, which explained the need for a reservation. Luckily, everyone else was dressed casually, too, so we fit right in.

I loved Spanish food, so the food was absolutely incredible.

During dinner, we talked about everything and anything; when we had finished eating and the server brought the check, we were still sitting there for a while, just talking.

I just loved being around him, since he was so sweet and so genuinely fun to be around.

Eventually, we left the restaurant. Jimmy gave our server a crazy high tip, but we got out of the restaurant before they even noticed.

On the car ride back to his house, the panic started to set in as I wondered if he was going to try and kiss me.

I wasn't sure if he would, though, since we were both going into the same house. He couldn't even use it as an excuse of a "goodbye" kiss, since we were going to see each other inside, anyway.

~*~

He didn't end up kissing me, which made me feel a little disappointed. I briefly wondered if I did something wrong or that he didn't enjoy the date, but I tried not to let those thoughts take over too much.

I had a lot of fun, and he said that he had a lot of fun. He was so cute and sweet, and the fact that he (I think?) admitted that it was a date...

This was all so crazy. My mind was spinning, and I had no idea where things would go from here.
