"Oh god...ELIZA! ELIZABETH! I've found her!" Alexander, Eliza's husband, yelled

"Where is she?! Where is Angelica?" Eliza ran over

Alexander pointed to the well, Eliza peered over and saw something she prayed she would never see again

Angelica was at the bottom of the well

"ANGELICA!"

"Betsey, we have to save her! Oh god, I'll jump in and—BETSEY!" Alexander was cut off by Eliza jumping in

She frantically pushed herself to the bottom of the well, doing everything she could to reach her sister

With time running out and Eliza running out of breath, she grabbed Angelica and began to swim back to the surface

She practically launched herself to the top as she coughed and sputtered, fresh air had never felt more satisfying in her life

Alexander helped pull Eliza and his sister-in-law out of the well

He flipped Angelica on her back; needless to say, things were not looking good for the eldest sister

"Eliza, don't EVER do something so reckless ever again, what the he—" Alexander attempted to scold his wife

"Shut up, Alexander! I'm trying to concentrate." Eliza tried her best to recall the medical procedure she had learned in a book that Peggy stole from the library

Eliza put her hands on top of one another. She began to roughly pump her hands onto Angelica's chest

"Un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf, dix, onze, douze, treize, quatorze, quinze, seize, dix-sept, dix-huit, dix-neuf, vingt—"

"Eliza, I'm not sure that will—"

"QUIET! Vingt et un, vingt-deux, vingt-trois, vingt-quatre, vingt-cinq, vingt-sept, vingt-huit, vingt-neuf, trente!" She blew air into her sister's mouth three times

No response

"Godammit! Alexander , go fetch a doctor and do not question me!"

"Yes, my love." Alexander ran to go get a doctor

Eliza, being quite strong, dragged her sister to the sofa in the living room. She then began the process two more times before Alexander and a doctor ran in

"Mrs. Hamilton, step aside." The doctor said in a gruff voice. He began to examine Angelica and check for physical trauma on the body

"What exactly did you do before I arrived?" He asked

"I began that process where you push the chest and blow air—"

"Ah yes, the revival method. That was smart of you, and I reckon you did it two more times?"

"Yes, sir." She answered

"Excellent. I need you both to exit while I do the proper examinations."

"Didn't you just examine her?" Alexander asked in suspicion

"That was a little look-over. I need privacy if I'm going to see if she has suffered any real damage. By the looks of it, I'm not sure she'll make it..."

"SHE WILL MAKE IT! She's...she's all I have..." Eliza screamed

"Betsey, I know she'll be alright. She's a strong woman. She'll make it. I know she will." Alexander said, however he sounded as if he was trying to convince himself instead of his wife

The strained lovers walked out of the room, holding each other tightly

"Best of wives and best of women..."

She smiled

"ANGELICA!" A booming voice shook the entire house

"Alexander, did you hear that? I think that was Eliza calling me—"

"Nonsense, love! It was most likely nothing." Alexander said in a panicked voice

"I think she needs me, I'll be right back, love." She walked to the door, but two hands suddenly snatched her arms

"I- wha- ALEXANDER! RELEASE ME THIS INSTANT!" She shook and squirmed in his grip

"No! It's for your own good!"

"Stop it! Let me go!"

"Stop struggling!"

Angelica bit Alexander's finger and she fell to the floor. As he held his finger and cursed, Angelica was about to run out the door but as soon as she grabbed the handle, she almost fell. She gasped.

There was nothing except endless white

Alexander snatched Angelica's waist and slammed the door, throwing her on the bed

"You weren't supposed to see that." Alexander spoke in a menacing voice

"I-I—I uh—b-but—what—Alexander, what the hell was that? Why was there nothing there? What happened to our home?" Angelica asked frantically

Silence

"Alexander...you're scaring me...why wasn't I supposed to see that?"

More silence

"Alexander, please—"

"I'm sorry, but I must do this." Alexander spoke at last

"Do what? I-rmmrph!" Angelica's mouth was covered with a cravat

"I love you, my sincerest apologies."

The last thing Angelica remembered was Alexander holding a large, heavy looking book in his hand before she was knocked into unconsciousness

"Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton; come in please." The doctor asked

The two practically trampled each other trying to get in the room, along with the rest of the Hamilton/Church family

"I said, Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton. I can't have all of you in here."

"I beg your pardon, that's my wife!" John Church yelled

"And? Perhaps I didn't make myself clear enough, I said Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton. Everyone else please exit the room until I say it's alright to come back."

John and the rest of the family begrudgingly left the room, cursing the doctor under their breath

"How is she, doctor?" Alexander asked

"It's not looking too well. She didn't wake up at all after the revival method and it seems she's gone into shock. This is a problem because she hasn't gotten the water out of her lungs. That nasty well water is still sitting in her lungs, which could kill her if she doesn't wake up anytime soon."

Eliza gasped and sobbed into Alexander's shoulder as he held back his own tears. He knew he needed to be strong for Eliza

"Please, Angelica, please, wake up. I can't live without you. We can't live without you."

Angelica groaned as she rubbed her head

"Hm?" Angelica realized her mouth was bound with a cravat

Suddenly, she remembered everything. Angelica angrily ripped the cravat off her face and swore that when Alexander came back, she would kill him and go to jail if she had to

Angelica stopped her angry mental rant and stopped to read the letter on her husband's desk:

To Angelica Hamilton:

This letter, my very dear Angel, will not be delivered to you, unless I shall first have terminated my earthly career; to begin, as I humbly hope from redeeming grace and divine mercy, a happy immortality.

If it had been possible for me to have avoided the interview, my love for you and my precious children would have been alone a decisive motive. But it was not possible, without sacrifices which would have rendered me unworthy of your esteem. I need not tell you of the pangs I feel, from the idea of quitting you and exposing you to the anguish which I know you would feel. Nor could I dwell on the topic lest it should unman me.

The consolations of Religion, my beloved, can alone support you; and these you have a right to enjoy. Fly to the bosom of your God and be comforted. With my last idea; I shall cherish the sweet hope of meeting you in a better world.

Adieu best of wives and best of Women. Embrace all my darling Children for me.

Ever yours,

A. H.

With tears in her eyes, she opened a drawer to get her box that held his letters. However, she saw a letter from a certain Aaron Burr that caught her eye. As she quickly skimmed through the words, the tears left her eyes and she felt one thing

Dread

Aaron and Alexander were not on the best of terms as of now and that letter proved that the long-time feud would end today

Angelica dropped her box of letters and cautiously opened the door. Thankfully, there was a hallway present and she ran downstairs out of the house with nothing but a night gown, slippers, and a terrible idea

The run to the boating dock was a short one and with no time, nor money to pay, she hopped on the boat and ignored the people attempting to stop her while she rowed her way to the Weehawken dueling ground

As soon as she had reached land, she had jumped out of the boat to find Alexander

"1"

"No." She thought

"2"

"Alexander, stop!"

"3"

"It's me, your wife!"

"4"

Angelica followed the chanting of numbers, running as fast as she could

"5"

She's running out of time

"6"

"I'm running out of time."

"7"

"8"

"9"

"STOP!"

Angelica ran up the hill, but she was too late

Aaron Burr has shot Alexander Hamilton

But he didn't fall, nor did he even stumble

He just stood there, staring into Angelica's eyes. Angelica ran to him and laid him down

"Oh, oh my god, my love, I—"

"Angelica, An-angelica, I don't feel so good." Alexander gripped his wife's sleeves

Angelica looked at the world around her to see that it was crumbling . Literally crumbling

The blue sky was falling apart and the trees around them began to unwind like yarn

"Alexander! Alexander, we must go! The world-the world is ending! Please—"

"Shh. Hush, my beloved. We are ok. Well, at least you will be, which is all that matters."

"Mon cher...mon—what do you speak of?" Angelica asked

"I was wrong, my angel."

Angelica was taken aback. Alexander Hamilton admitting he's wrong?

"I should've never done this to you. I should've known better than to put you through this pain and suffering."

Angelica sniffled, however, she gasped as she saw Aaron Burr fall apart a few feet away from them with a smile on his face

"OH MY G-" Alexander shushed his wife again

"Shhh...don't ruin the peace...this is the way the world ends. Not with a bang, but a whimper..."

Angelica sobbed and gasped as she looked at her husband's legs begin to fade away

The never ending White was beginning to consume the world around them

"My dearly beloved, I knew I was going to die today. However, I had no idea I would die with an Angel by my side. This is the only thing I could ask for. Now take your time, I'll see you on the other side."

Angelica only squeezed her husband tighter as the white was about to take them

"Now wake up, my Angel."

Angelica gasped and jerked awake, registering four pairs of shocked eyes staring at her. She felt immeasurably sick and struggled to hold back what she presumed was vomit

A bucket was handed to her and to her shock, she coughed up water, and lots of it

"...what happened to me?"

Everyone stared at her in silence, too stunned to react

She felt two people throwing themselves on her and man telling them to give her space

"Oh, Angelica, we thought we had lost you forever." Eliza sobbed

"Angelica, how did you even end up in that well in the first place?" Alexander asked

She looked up to see Peggy wink at her in the corner of the room

"Let's just say it's complicated."

As Eliza and Alexander rambled on and on, she smiled fondly at memory of the wonderful dream she had with the love of her life

"I will always be satisfied if I'm with you..."
