《Rewind (A Hamilton AU/ Hamgelica AU)》Chapter XVII

Angelica was truly drained after everything that happened in the last few months, her younger sister, Peggy, dying, Alexander cheating, Eliza falling into depression, Phillip dying... it was getting too much for the older Schuyler women
She sat at her husband's desk, drinking a cup of hot tea and reading Common Sense by Thomas Paine for the one millionth time. The poor woman was exhausted and she couldn't comprehend what was happening anymore
"Angelica!" Peggy called her
"P-Peggy?" Angelica questioned
"Angelicaaa!"
"Be quiet, Peggy, you're not real. I saw you d-die..."
"I'm over here, Angie."
Peggy called her from the other side of the door
This is ridiculous
Angelica got up with exasperation evident in her voice and opened the door
"Alright, Peggy, I'm coming. Are you happy?" Angelica opened the door and nothing was there
"Angelica, I'm right here." Peggy said from the other side of the back door
"Peggy, I'm not fooling around. I don't have time for your games!"
"I must be going crazy, I'm having a conversation with my dead sister like this is normal" Angelica thinks to herself
Angelica opens the door, and you guessed it, no Peggy
She looked around the garden anyway, longing to find her sister even though she knew she wouldn't
She stopped in front of a well, and looked at her reflection in the water. She looked older, worn out, and just ready to quit
"Peggy... where are you? I've missed you..." Angelica called for her sister
She turns around and comes face to face with her late sister
"OH MY GOD, PEGGY?!"
"Save Eliza." Peggy told her sister
"W-What?"
"Go. Don't ruin it again."
And with that, Peggy shoved her older sister roughly into the well behind her
She fell into the water, down, down, down, and down.
"PEGGY!" Angelica tried to yell but it only came out as bubbles
When she tried to swim back up, she couldn't. Her dress weighed her down, the well was never ending. She started to cry, but you couldn't see her tears anyways. She was underwater
"Eliza...Peggy...Alexander...Anyone...?" She tried to call out, but it came out as a pathetic whisper
This is hopeless...I'm going to die now...
Eliza...I'm so sorry
Alexander...I love you
She closed her eyes and prepared for the worst but in a snap, she was out of the water. She had fallen out from the bottom of the well and was now falling in the air.
"W-What?! PEGGY!" Angelica hopelessly called for her sister, but to no avail
When she stopped yelling, she looked down and saw a bed in the distance
My old bed? The old house? What is this doing here?
She fell for two more seconds and hit her bed with a loud thud!
"Ugh...what in God's name just happened?" Angelica asked to no one
She heard footsteps running to her door and a young girl with thick, brown hair and a yellow dress popped in
"Angelica, why are you still in bed? Don't you know what day it is? You're supposed to be getting ready." Peggy informed her sister
Angelica looked at Peggy with wide eyes and gasped
Here her sister stood acting as if nothing was wrong, here she stood alive and well
"Peggy? What are you...how are you...? I thought you were dead." Angelica said
"I am dead, stupid." Peggy told her sister
"What! First of all, rude. Second of all, why am I here? What happened? What's today's date? How are you standing here? What the hell is going on around here?!" Angelica had so many questions
Advertisement
"I know you have questions, but right now you have to play along. Act like nothing is wrong. You have been sent back in time. Hear me out, I know it sounds absolutely insane. Eliza has no idea about this and neither does anyone else."
"So wait, no one knows it's not supposed to be this year? Except us?"
"Correct."
"But why am I here? What purpose does this serve?"
"I have unfinished business. I'm not allowed to do it, however, because I'm dead. I cannot pass on until I do a good deed for someone else, and that person completes my business for me. When my unfinished business is complete, I go to Heaven."
"So...you have to do something good for someone and that person has to finish your business in return, so you can go to Heaven?"
"Yes."
"I suppose the person you chose is me?"
"Yes."
"Just what is your business, Miss Margarita?"
"You have to finish John's biography in my honor."
"Is that all?"
"That's all."
"That sounds quite easy."
"No, because before you do that. You have your first task."
"Which is?" Angelica asked
"You need to save Alexander for yourself. You cannot give him to Eliza, or I won't go to Heaven, Eliza will be sad, and you will never be satisfied."
"Peggy, are you out of your mind? Why would you pick something like that?!"
"No one said that getting into Heaven was easy, Angelica. Imagine how hard it will be for Alexander to get here. Oh lord, he'll have so much to repent for, he's not ready!" Peggy laughed at her joke
"Ok, I get it now. I have to take Alexander, to save Eliza. Then, write John's biography. I'm fine with that."
"Good, because if you don't. You will die." Peggy told her sister bluntly
"Wait what?! What do you mean I'll die?!" Angelica shrieked
"I pushed you into a well. If you don't finish your task, you will go back to the well and drown. You. Will. Die."
"So now it's a life and death situation? Wonderful." Angelica replied with sarcasm
"Not my fault, Angie. Now, we've talked long enough. We need to get into character, you are not a mother and aunt, you are a sister and daughter. Remember what you can of this era because if you talk about things from 1801, that'll be disastrous. Now come!"
Peggy grabbed her sister's hand and pulled her through the corridors of the Schuyler mansion, a place she didn't think she'd see again in her lifetime. The halls she once knew were now foreign to her and this house she called home felt empty
"Here she is, 'Liza!" Peggy told her sister
Eliza turned her head towards the two and Angelica held back a gasp
She was much younger, a beautiful young woman. No wonder she had so many men knocking down her door. She wasn't tired and her face wasn't worn down from the trauma. She was bright, glowing...
Happy
Eliza looked like she had never cried a day in her life
"Angelica! Finally you're here. We're getting ready now, put on your corset, lazy bones. The ball is today." Eliza smiled at Angelica
"Yes, alright..." Angelica answered
"Are you excited, ladies? We've been awaiting this day for days, weeks, months! Maybe we'll find men. What do you think, Peggy?"
"Me, I think I'm leaning more towards a man, you see. It usually would've been a woman, but I've got a feeling that I'm going to find a man tonight." Peggy smiled as she thought of John, her future husband

"Alright, what of you, Angelica? What do you think?"
Angelica hesitated "I've always been a bit more reclus—OW! THAT HURT!—ive. Sorry, I meant reclusive. Maybe I will find man tonight," Peggy glared at her "no, I will find a man tonight."
"Lovely! I'm so proud of us, sisters."
"Oh yes, so proud..." Peggy and Angelica looked at each other in understanding
They knew what needed to be done
———time skip———
The Schuyler sisters walked into the grandiose ballroom
Everyone stopped and stared
"Third time's the charm, they say" Angelica said
She walked around the room for the third time her entire life, her third Winter's Ball and frankly, she was sick of it. The decorations seemed bland, the wine was bitter, and all the joy was sucked out of it the more she went. But she was a woman on a mission
All I have to do is wait for Mulligan and Lafayette to start yelling—
"Ladiesss!" Angelica was standing next to her sisters and they all laughed and scoffed at this man's behavior. Another walked in with a thick French accent, who was equally intoxicated, and was yelling "Revolution! Amenez les dames au lit pour la révolution!"
Angelica's sisters gasped at this man's vulgarity.
That's the first cue, next is Peggy finding Laurens
Another man with a ponytail was scolding his fellow soldiers for making a fool of themselves. Peggy looked at him, astonished, yet again, by his maturity. She winked at her sisters and whispered.
"Oh yes, this one's mine"
Before she left, she grabbed Angelica "You know what must be done. Don't squander your opportunity."
"I know, Peggy, don't worry." Angelica reassured her
Back to acting normal
Angelica and Eliza looked at each other and smirked. Well Angelica smirked, Eliza smiled
"You have fun, Peggy..." Angelica said, knowing full well what she planned to do with that man tonight
"Yes, Peggy. Please, be safe! If he hurts you let us know!" Eliza reassured her sister
Peggy walked away
George Washington will be giving a speech soon
Soon wasn't the right word, it was now
George Washington, stepped in with that same sort of sophistication. Everyone looked at him and applauded, yet again. Angelica's eyes went to George's right hand man. Mr. Washington picked up a glass of fine wine and raised it to the air, encouraging everyone to do the same. He was about to give the speech
"I, thank you all for letting us attend such a formal event. To begin, an update on the war. To keep it short, we're not doing very well. We are short of supplies and weapons, but we are trying our best. We will continue to persevere through our circumstances to win the war, for the people. For the country. And for the belief that we are our own people, and we can run a nation without some "king" regulating the price of tea. Raise a glass to freedom, to the revolution!"
George Washington smiled and looked down at his right hand man. "Anything to add, Hamilton?"
"PAY YOUR FUCKING TAXES!" The short man yelled, to the shock of everyone (except Angelica) and the embarrassment of Commander Washington. He gave a nervous laugh and said, "Everyone, please enjoy your night!" He glared at Hamilton and pulled him by his forearm outside
Now!
Angelica rushed away from her sister and straight to General Washington and Alexander.
"Excuse me, Mr. Washington, my name is Angelica Schuyler. I must borrow you're right hand for a minute? Is that alright?"
General Washington looked at her then back at Alexander
"As you wish, m'lady. I will deal with you later, son. Oh, and Hamilton? Don't make a fool of yourself in front of the lady here."
Alexander scoffed and mumbled "I'm not your son..."
"I'm sure, he'll forgive you. My name is Angelica Schuyler. You are?" Angelica introduces herself, yet again
"Where are my manners? My name is Alexander Hamilton, my dear. The general's right hand man."
"Oh... I've never met the general's right hand before..." Angelica flirted. She was trying to reel him in
"Nor I a work of art such as yourself, Miss Schuyler." Alexander flirted back and kissed her hand
My God, he's good
The two started talking about the revolution and politics, it seemed they agreed on almost everything. They shared a few unscripted laughs that had people side-eyeing them, but they didn't care. Angelica knew what she was here for and she was going to get it done.
I will not fall in love with Hamilton
"Angelica, may I speak with you?" It was Eliza
Here it comes
"Of course, I'll be right back, Hamilton."
"Please, call me Alexander."
"Duly noted."
Eliza dragged Angelica away to a different corner of the room
"Angelica, Angelica! I think I'm in love! Is this what love feels like, sister? Do tell me, I wouldn't really know, this doesn't happen often for me..." she whisper-shouts at a very fast pace."
"Elizabeth, calm yourself. How would father react to seeing you make a mess of yourself? You're a Schuyler sister. Act like it." Angelica scolded her.
"Angelica please, you don't truly believe that rubbish father tells us, do you?" Eliza asked with a sly tone.
Same words. Same everything. It was driving her insane. If she heard Eliza say that one more time, she would scream. She said her lines monotonously
"Of course I don't. What does he look like? Is he handsome?" She sounded dead inside. Well, wouldn't you be if you were forced to relive the same event 3 times with a different outcome and all of them are bad?
"Oh, the man you were talking to... it's that one! Isn't he just so handsome? I tell you Angelica I've found the on—"
"This one's mine." Angelica interrupted her
Eliza froze "I w-what?"
"This. One's. Mine." Angelica repeated
"Angelica, that's not funny—" Eliza's face fell
"I'm not kidding with you, Eliza." Angelica sounded meaner than she meant
"Angelica, please, you can have the next on—" Eliza was getting desperate
"Don't you see? There is no next one! Let me have him, Eliza. Let me have something for myself."
Years of anger and bitterness resurfaced and Angelica was getting more furious by the minute. All the years of making sacrifices for people who don't do the same. It's coming out
And Eliza's the recipient of Angelica's rage
Eliza had tears in her eyes, they were threatening to spill
"Angelica, please, please, I'm begging you! You'll never have to sacrifice for me again, it's love, Angelica! I'm in love with him,—" a sob escaped her lips "y-you...you can't take him from me!"
"Eliza, what do you know about love? You're a child. You've never had a lover. You've never had a significant other. You have no idea what you speak of? This crush on Alexander is all it is. A crush. You will be over him in a week. Why? Because I know you." Angelica's anger was about to explode. She went outside to cool down
Eliza followed after, nagging about Alexander. Which made it worse
"Angelica, why? Why are you doing this? Do you hate me?" Eliza was now crying
"Hate you? I've spent my entire life sacrificing for you! Do you know how many times I've stepped up to the plate to be a good sister to you and Peggy? Do you?! No, you don't! Because you're just that sELFISH!
Eliza gasped and choked back more sobs
"YOU NEVER TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION HOW OTHERS FEEL! IT'S ALWAYS ALL ABOUT YOU! LIZA, LIZA, LIZA! I'VE GROWN QUITE TIRED OF IT! WHEN YOU MAKE THE AMOUNT OF SACRIFICES I'VE MADE TO KEEP THIS FAMILY IN CHECK, THEN YOU CAN HAVE HIM! UNTIL THEN, YOU CAN HAVE A LITTLE PITY PARTY AND BURN!"
Angelica gasped and realized what she'd done. She stared at Eliza and the look on her face was devastating
"E-Eliza, I—" Angelica stuttered. She didn't know where to begin
Eliza has reached her breaking point
"DON'T! DON'T EVEN START, ANGELICA! I DON'T CARE HOW MANY SACRIFICES YOU'VE MADE. FRANKLY, IT'S QUITE AWFUL TO BE IN YOUR SHADOW! IT DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE. KEEP HIM, ANGELICA."
Eliza ran away crying her eyes out
Angelica didn't know how to react
"I-I've lost my sister. That's two sisters I've lost..."
Angelica struggled to hold her tears
"Angelica?" Alexander called her
"Oh, A-Alexander! I'm so s-sorry—!"
"Why were you crying?" He asked her
"I wasn't"
"Yes, you were."
"No."
"Was it your sister?"
Angelica faced him
"How did you know she was my sister?" Angelica asked him in suspicion
Alexander was at a loss for words
"I just knew." Alexander said
"I've ruined everything, haven't I?" Angelica asked him
"Not at all, why do you say that?"
"Well, she said she loved you and I basically told her to piss off because I saw you first. Now she's all depressed and I'm the bad one..." A look of regret flashed over her features
Alexander put a hair behind Angelica's ear
"You are not at fault for this, mon chèri..." Alexander reassured her
"Mon chère..." Angelica replies
He kissed her passionately, no forbidden kiss, no betrayal
Just the two of them
Getting what they wanted
But a broken sister awaits in the shadows

DEATH While there is a difference as to when a person or object will "end," it is certain that they will all arrive at that point because death is not something that "arrives," but rather is something already contained within an object at its creation and certainly bound to happen as part of the principle of causality.

But that won't be easy when a cruel and abnormally tall skeleton dressed in mockery of Santa Claus and his suit hates Ty's guts. San wants nothing more than to best Ty and do what none of his kind has ever done before: defeat a child that has made "the choice." But Ty will stop at nothing to fight back against everything San's got in order to face his fears and grow up. Because, if he doesn't, he will end up a kid forever. Or, worse...never wake up again. This story is perfect for you if you are a fan of Coraline and Kingdom Hearts, both of those stories greatly inspired this one. I have recently added the Isekai tag after being unsure if it counts or not. I've decided it fits the description of what it is but not the current trends in the genre. If you go in with Coraline in mind I think you will have a better idea of the kind of Isekai this is. And I've also added the Slice of Life tag, that is only for the first five or six chapters though, then Ty enters the dream world and it pretty quickly becoms a progression fantasy, a mix of more traditional fairy tale like trappings alongside more anime action and acquisition of slowly increasing powers. With all that out of the way, please enjoy! Updates every Tuesday and Thursday! What time of day? It's a mystery! (For now)
