《Rewind (A Hamilton AU/ Hamgelica AU)》Chapter III

Angelica went downstairs to the kitchen to get a late night snack. Dreaming made her hungry, then again, almost everything made her hungry. Any excuse to eat food. As she opened the pantry she is startled by a voice that belonged to the youngest Schuyler sister, Peggy.
"What are you doing, Angelica?"
"Jesus, Peggy! Will you stop sneaking up on me like that?"
"I would say I'm sorry but I'm not. So what are you doing down here?" Peggy inquired
"I'm getting a snack. I had another dream, and they keep getting worse. So, I decided food was the answer to my problems." Angelica explained
"You're still having them? The ball is tomorrow you know...maybe this IS some kind of message?" Peggy said
"Peggy, you've always had a powerful imagination. That's ridiculous. Honestly, a premonition? It sounds too good to be true..."
Peggy was a little offended by what her older sister, but she brushed it off as always.
"Angelica, all I'm saying is that it's odd for you to have these dreams right before the ball and expect them to be just dreams. Don't you read? In most books, dreams are premonitions of the future!" Peggy was trying to convince her sister, but she wasn't having it.
"Peggy, life isn't a storybook. These aren't premonitions, and I truly think you need to get your head out of the clouds and realize that what you are saying only happens in fairytales! Honestly, you can be so immature sometimes..." Angelica snapped at Peggy. She wasn't trying to be mean, but it was around 2-3 in the morning.
Now, Peggy was holding back tears.
"You know what? Fine. I was only trying to help. You asked my opinion, you didn't like the answer. That's not my problem. So, whatever happens to you, you deserve it because refuse to listen to reason. I'm tired of everyone walking all over me. Goodnight, sister." Peggy gritted her teeth as she told Angelica the truth. After all, it was never "And Angelica" or "And Eliza" Peggy was always the add-on that no one listened to and she was tired of it.
As an angry Peggy trudged upstairs, Angelica decided to stay downstairs. She felt bad about what she said to her sister and she would apologize to her in the morning. Until then, she would eat her snack and take a nap on her velvet futon.

Angelica found herself sitting in a room with a desk, a lamp, and papers.
"A study?" She thought to herself
A man with bags under his eyes and his hair down with knots. He looked to be in terrible condition and he looked more like a corpse than a person. Then, Angelica recognizes him.
"Intelligent eyes in a hunger-panged frame..."
Three knocks were heard against the door, one getting softer after the other. He seemed to not notice at first because he was falling asleep at his desk. But after the next three knocks, he snapped out of his trance and opened the door to a woman clad in red with pouty lips painted red. She was one of the most beautiful women Angelica had ever seen. Long, brown curls that stopped at her waist and dark, toffee eyes that were dull and lacked something.
Happiness
"Sir? My name is Maria Reynolds. I-I'm sorry to bother you at such a late time, b-but I don't have anywhere to go. They say you're a man of honor so I hoped you could help me. I have nowhere else to turn. I'm all alone..." Maria said with emotion that was impossible to fake.
"My husband h-he's been doing me wrong. He beats me, cheats on me with other women, and just overall mistreats me. T-then he just left one day. I have nothing. Please h-help me..." She started to cry and pulled her hair from her face to reveal a bruised eye.
"That poor woman," Angelica accidentally said out loud. But no one in the room heard her since it was only a dream. He offered to lend her money, which she took and folded into the crease of her breasts and took up his offer to walk her home. Angelica was about to follow behind them, but she stopped at the man's desk where she saw three interesting portraits.
One of Eliza and him smiling, Eliza wearing all white and he was wearing black. "This must be Eliza's husband. Is this the man she was talking about in the dream she had before? His name was Alexander, yes?" The next portrait was of Alexander, Eliza, and children looking to be aged from 19- maybe 2 or 3. One child was the spitting image of Eliza, so she inferred that these were their children. "I'm an aunt? I'm an aunt! I'm so happy Eliza had children! I knew she would, but now I know for sure!" The last portrait was one Angelica found quite odd. It was of her, but written in ink under it was "My dearest, Angelica."

"With a comma after dearest? That must be an error. He's married to my sister! He's written my dearest...Angelica." She didn't know how to feel about the kind gesture, so she decided to open the door and follow after Alexander and Maria Reynolds. Maria was clinging onto him like there was no tomorrow. She could tell Alexander was a bit uncomfortable with how close she was, but he didn't seem that bothered by it. "I guess men never change," Angelica grumbled to herself.
"This one, right here. This one's mine sir." She entered the house and tried to bring Alexander in, but he let go of her arm and backed up. "H-Hey so I think I should head home, I have so much work to do I really can't stay long so-" Alexander was cut off by Maria leading him into her room. She pulled him by his collar, so they were touching noses. Maria whispered seductively into his ear, "Stay?" Alexander's face turned red, and he looked like he was having a conflict with himself as to whether he should stay or leave. All this while Angelica watched in horror. She yelled at him, "This shouldn't even be up for debate! You are married with children! ALEXANDER I SWEAR ON MY BROTHER'S GRAVE IF YOU DON'T LEAVE IMMEDIATELY-" Unfortunately, Alexander couldn't see her or hear her. So, he looked back at the temptress who would be his downfall.
"Lord, show me how to say no to this," Alexander said as he kissed her.

Angelica stirred awake and confusion went to anger. "How could he do something like that? Poor Eliza, she doesn't deserve this heartbreak. It isn't fair," She thought to herself. "Wait a goddamn minute." Angelica sat down and recollected all of the dreams she had had so far. "I met Alexander at the ball and I let Eliza have him. Then, Eliza comes to me crying asking how Alexander could do such a thing. Finally, I see Alexander getting comfortable with a Maria Reynolds. Oh my God." Angelica finally put two and two together, and it all made sense. "Peggy was right! I need to tell her immediately! I have to say I'm sorry." Angelica ran through the Schuyler mansion and ran into a giant, yellow poof. They landed on the floor. When Angelica looked up she saw her sister looking at her.
"Peggy! Thank God! I have so many things to tell you. I wanted to apologize to you for what I said last night. I know you might hate me, but I finally understand. You were right, you were right all along. These were premonitions of the future. My dreams all connected and told a story. I tell you, Peggy, It's not a very good one-"
"Angelica, slow down! I forgive you, I'm sorry for laying all of that information on you. I'm glad you're finally seeing the real truth. I may say things that don't mean anything, but this time, I really mean it. Take my words to heart." Peggy said to her sister, with a bit more emotion.
"Oh, Peggy. I can always confide in you. Thank you..."'

Author's Note: Hello everyone! It's Kennedy, back at it again! I want to apologize for not posting more but I promise I will more often. In this story, I want Peggy to play a central role, so that's why you're not seeing Eliza in this story so often. I also plan to give a solo to Peggy in my story called Confided in Me. The song is going to be Peggy on her deathbed and singing to her sisters about how she loves them and her thanks to them for telling her everything. I will be updating again today for making you wait so long. Thank you, loves
