Chapter 53

I nervously wiped the sweat off of my hands with my dress. I let out a troubled sigh and bit my lips as I observed myself in the mirror. The dress I wore fit me perfectly like a glove and I thought that it was beautiful. I backed away from the mirror and slowly walked up to my bedroom door as I heard footsteps.

Once there was a knock on my door, I walked up and opened it, to see a well dressed Mason looking right at me. My lips broke out into a smile as his eyes lit up. He stepped closer to me and pulled me to his chest, wrapping his strong arms around my waist in a possessive manner. I inhaled his scent as he did too.

"Beautiful," he muttered under his breath. My smile widened and I raised my head, looking up at him.

"Hey," I whispered, looking into his eyes.

He softly smiled down at me and placed his lips onto mine. After a second he pulled away and dug his nose onto the crook of my neck. He inhaled my scent and kissed my mark, making my eyes widen. "Hi," he greeted back as he placed another soft kiss on the mark.

He then pulled away and looked at me with dark eyes. He closed them for a split second before opening them, staring down at me. "You ready?" Mason asked. I smiled and nodded my head

"Yes. I'm just a little nervous," I responded, making him shake his head. I was really nervous. I mean, what if they don't like me? What if the rumors that have been flying around will affect how they see me? Many questions roamed through my head and I didn't know if I was just overthinking.

"I told you, they'll love you," Mason spoke. I nodded my head and let out a long sigh. "Come on, let's go."

We pulled away and he grabbed my hand in his. He gave me a comfortable squeeze, making me smile up at him. We walked hand in hand through the hall and down the stairs. The packhouse was empty, guessing that everyone was in the yard waiting for the pack meeting to start. I glanced at Mason one more time as he offered me a comforting smile which relaxed my nerves before we walked out of the packhouse and towards the yard.

As soon as we walked out of the packhouse, a large crowd was in sight. Everyone's gazes turned to us, stopping whatever they were doing and stared at us. Lots of members had shock written on their faces as they saw our joined hands. Others were confused and started whispering words to the members next to them.

And others had smiles on their face, a look of happiness that engulfed their expressions, making my nerves relax a bit.

We walked closer to the crowd until we were in front of everyone. Whispering now had filled the air and I was nervous in my place.

"Thank you all for coming. I brought you all here today to announce the great news that should have been announced a long time ago," Mason started, glancing at me with comforting eyes, before turning his attention to the crowd. "Many of you guys wonder to this day why I was spared the lives of the new members that came here months ago. Some of you already predicted it and some of you created false rumors," he said the last part bitterly, eyes growing hard. I rubbed my thumb over his hand to try to calm him. He sighed out and tightened his hold onto my hand.

"It was because, Tiana, the girl who is standing in front of you is my mate," he finally stated, making people gasp. Many eyes widened as they stared at me with pure shock. Lots of the members broke out into grins and lots of them duck their heads in respect or shame. I bit the inside of my cheek as I stared at the crowd in front of me.

"She is your Luna," Mason declared. By now, everyone had their faces down, a gesture of respect. A small smile crawled onto my face and I looked at Mason, to see him staring at me with lovable eyes.

They all raised their heads and some started blurting out words of respect.

I smiled at everyone.

"I want you all to treat her the same way you treat me. Meaning, if anyone does otherwise, then they will receive a punishment," Mason ordered. Everyone nodded their head and so did Mason.

"Good," he muttered.

I let my eyes roam around the huge crowd and saw Lina, Ryder, and Tyler smiling up at me with joy. I smiled at them and Lina did a happy dance, making me hold the laughter that threatened to escape my mouth. I continued looking around the crowd and saw Crystal, who I haven't talked to for awhile smiling at me.

I completely forgot that I spilled everything to her. I let out a sigh and smiled back. I just hope she wouldn't say a word of what I told her.

I glanced at Mason and he tugged onto my hand, pulling me closer to the crowd.

"Come. They want to greet you properly," he whispered to me. I looked at the crowd and smiled as I saw their eyes light up with happiness. A Luna was someone every pack wishes to have. A Luna is a person who is like the mother of the pack and takes care of the pack members like they are her children. No doubt that they were happy that they were finally given a chance to have a Luna.

We walked up to them and everyone immediately tried to grab my attention. I smiled to each and every pack member as they shook my hand or pulled me in for a hug. I greeted many members I didn't know and many that were familiar. Many pack members apologized for believing the false rumors which made me a little happy.

At least they know that they're false now.

After a long time of talking and greeting, Mason tugged onto my hand and pulled me away.

"That's enough for today," he spoke with a little amusement as lots of members frowned. "You'll get to speak with her another time, but for now, we have to leave. You may all go back to what you were doing." And with that, many turned away and left.

I received waves of goodbye and I couldn't help the feeling of happiness that overcame me. It was a good feeling. I was happy that they chose to accept me. I looked up at Mason and smiled.

"Let's go," he whispered, pulling me back to the packhouse.

We walked hand in hand towards my room in complete silence. As soon as we were in front of my room, I noticed how silent he was.

I raised a brow at him.

"Is there something wrong?" I asked. He looked down at me and let out a deep sigh.

"No." He shook his head but ran a hand through his hair. "I just want to ask you a question," he murmured.

"What is it?" I questioned, looking up at him in confusion.

"Uh.." He scratched the back of his neck and sighed again. "Would you like to go out with me?"

My eyes widened and I broke out into a smile. "You mean a date?" I asked. He shrugged his shoulders.

"Yeah. A date," he whispered. "I mean, if you don't want to then it's ok. But I just thought that you like these type of things-." I caught him off with a laugh.

"I'd love to go with you on a date," I told him. His stressed face vanished and was replaced with a relaxed one. Mason smiled down at me.

"Ok. Good," he said, satisfied, making my smile grow. I placed a soft kiss on his cheek before looking up at him.

"When is this date?" I asked.

"I was thinking tonight.." He told me, not so sure. I nodded my head at him in happiness.

"Tonight sounds good. What should I wear?" I asked. He grabbed onto my hand and smiled down at me.

"Anything you're comfortable with," he murmured, making my smile widen.

"Ok," I whispered before opening my bedroom door. "I'll see you tonight."

He nodded and I slowly closed the door after I smiled at him. Once the door was fully closed, I broke out into a goofy smile.

I was about to get out of my room to grab some lunch when my door drastically flew open, and a hard breathing Ameer stood behind it. My eyes widened as he ran into my room and slammed the door behind him, sighing out in relief.

His eyes linked with mine and I looked at him confused.

"What-"

"Hey, neighbor! How you doing?" He asked, a fake smile crawling onto his lips. I frowned and crossed my arms against my chest.

"What are you doing?" I managed to ask. He stepped closer to me and his smiling expression vanished and was soon replaced with a troubled one.

"Hiding," he answered softly before opening my door and taking a peek before immediately closing it. His eyes were wide and he ran up to me, his face written of fear. "Shit," he cursed. "She's right outside."

"Who are you hiding from?" I questioned quite loudly. He covered my mouth with his hand and shushed me.

"Be quiet. She might hear you," he whispered. I raised a brow and pulled away from him, staring at him in confusion.

"Who?" I asked again.

"A monster. No, a devil.." He answered before shaking his head. "No, Satan herself. She's after me."

"And why is Satan after you?"

He ran a hand through his hair but cringed when a loud voice boomed outside of my room.

"You, f*cker! Come out or I'll drag you with me to hell," a familiar voice yelled, making Ameer frown severely.

"I told you. Satan is right outside. Please help me, Tiana," he begged me. I couldn't help but feel amused.

"Aren't you a pack warrior? Doesn't that mean you can fight off any 'Satan'?" I questioned him. His frown deepened and he shook his head.

"I can fight anyone, except for that creature outside," he responded, making me laugh. I shook my head and walked towards the door, ready to open it when Ameer grabbed my hand.

"What are you doing?" He hissed. "You're going to let her take me? I thought we were best friends?" He stated dramatically, making me roll my eyes.

"We met this morning, Ameer," I chuckled.

"Still. I was ready to get the matching friendship bracelets and you're throwing away our friendship," he pouted. I laughed out and he let out a feminine scream when a loud knock was on my door.

"Tiana? Is that f*cker in there with you? I swear on my dead grandmother's life, if you don't open the door I will drag you to hell with the both of us," the familiar voice yelled, making me wince. I rolled my eyes and Ameer shook his head. He looked like he was accepting the fact he was going to die.

"Ameer, she's not going to hurt you," I spoke.

"She already did! She kicked in the freakin balls," he exclaimed, shaking his head. I winced for him and patted his shoulder.

"You're a goner," I teased. His eyes widened and a terrified expression crossed his features.

"You're right," he whispered, making my eyes twinkle with amusement. "I'm going to die and I didn't even cross out a single thing off my bucket list. Hell, I'm still a virgin," Ameer cried out, making me burst out in laughter.

"I said open the damn door!" Lina shouted from outside the room, interrupting my laughter and making Ameer's eyes widen in fear.

"Don't open the door," Ameer whispered to me. "I got an idea. We'll jump out the window and get the hell out of here and change our looks and names and move away to Canada. How does that sound?"

"You won't be moving anywhere because I'm going to kill you!" Lina yelled, slamming her fist against my door.

Easy on the door.

"I need to open the door before she breaks it down," I told Ameer, making him run a hand through his hair.

"I'm dead," he murmured.

"What did you even do?" I asked.

"It was an accident. I swear," he pleaded, without even answering my question. I sighed out and rolled my eyes at him, before opening the door to an angry, fuming Lina. As soon as I opened the door, she glared at Ameer with pure hatred.

"You bastard!" She yelled, running up to him like he was her prey and ready to attack. However, I grabbed her before she could even touch him. "Tiana! Let me go. This bastard deserves to die!" My arms around her tightened and Ameer let out another feminine scream and ran to the other side of the room. "I'm going to kill you."

"Lina!" I yelled, making her turn her attention over to me. "What the hell is going on? Why are you so persistent in killing him?"

She turned to him and glared at him before looking back at me, raising her hand that held a wet book that I didn't notice until now.

"That f*cker," she said pointing to Ameer, "spilled coffee over my damn book!"

"It was an accident. I swear," Ameer spoke, pleading me with his eyes to save him from Lina's wrath. "I wasn't looking to where I was going."

I sighed and gave Lina a pointed look. "Lina, it's just a book," I stated, making her hiss at me.

"It's not just any book, Tiana," she exclaimed, showing me the book. "It's my favorite book." I looked at the book that had 'The Vampire Diaries' written on it. My eyes widened and I stared at Ameer in shock. Yes, he's a goner. If you haven't noticed now, then Lina is a huge 'The Vampire Diaries' fan and she'd kill anyone who messed with her books.

Rip, Ameer. Even though I just met you, you will be missed.

"I'm sorry. It was an accident!" Ameer cried, begging me to do something with his eyes. I rolled my eyes as Lina started shouting at Ameer, making him cringe and wince.

"I'll buy you another one," he spoke, trying to tame the beast. Lina went silent and placed her finger on her chin, thinking.

"Hmm," she mumbled. "No." She burst and tried to let me lessen the grip I had on her so she could attack him. I rolled my eyes at those two and tightened my arms around her.

And for the rest of the evening, I tried to knock some sense into Lina, trying to save Ameer's life. Keyword; tried. Let's just say that Ameer ended up with a black eye. It was pathetic, honestly.

Note to self; never anger Lina.
