Chapter 46

I looked myself in the mirror then smiled. I was happy that finally, the heat went away. It's been days since it first hit me but today I woke up feeling perfectly fine. It took me a long time to finally convince Mason to leave me and see what Nick wanted.

Apparently, Nick called him, saying he needed him for something that has to do with the Black Blood pack and Mason refused to leave my side. I told him that I was feeling much better and after ten minutes he finally gave up. I took this time to clean up and take a shower because these past few days, all I've been doing was sleeping and locked up in Mason's room.

Lina brought me some clothes from my room and I wore them. I tied my hair up and looked in the mirror again. Thankfully, I didn't look bad. I was so fed up with the pain that I was begging the Lord to have mercy on me and end this pain. And saying I was happy when I woke up today feeling better is an understatement.

I was really thankful for Mason. He was so kind to me these past few days and he would refuse to leave my side. Thanks to him, I'm all better. I don't know what would have happened to me if he wasn't with me.

I smiled to myself as I thought about his kind gestures. The Mason I saw these few days wasn't the Mason he'd show to others. I felt like I saw a Mason that will only appear in front of me. And that sort of made me happy.

My smile immediately dropped as my mind thought about that day when Adam attacked me. I frowned and let out a shaky sigh. What happened wouldn't leave my mind and my head reminded me of that day every once in a while. I felt incredibly disappointed and worried for him. From what I've known, he's been in the dungeon for days now. I tried talking to Mason about the subject but he would immediately end it, telling me not to even try.

Even though what he did was wrong, I couldn't help feeling guilty. It wasn't his fault really. Any guy in his situation would have done the same because of my scent. It was a natural instinct.

He's my best friend, and I wouldn't wish pain upon him, ever. I let out a deep sigh then turned my head over to the door when I heard it open. Mason came walking into the room and he frowned once he saw me all dressed.

"What are you doing?" He asked, walking closer to me. I looked up at him and shrugged my shoulders.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" I questioned.

"You should be resting," Mason told me. I walked closer to him then raised a brow.

"Mason," I whispered. "I'm perfectly fine. Look, I'm all better."

His eyes hardened then roamed around my body, inspecting for any signs of pain. He then cleared his throat and brought his eyes back at mine. "You sure?"

I smiled up at him and nodded. "Yes. I'm sure."

Mason nodded his head and took a step closer to me, making my eyes widened. He then dipped his head in the crook of my neck before inhaling my scent. I watched him carefully as he smelled my scent, he then took a step back, smirking down at me.

"Ok. Your scent is back to normal. So that's good," he muttered. I gulped and nodded my head. Mason took a step back before opening the door to his room.

"Come on, let's go."

I raised a brow and looked up at him questioningly. "Go where?"

"To Sam. He told me that once you felt better you should go to his office so he could give you some pills," Mason answered. I smiled up at him and nodded.

"Ok."

We walked down the hall and towards the medical room. I smiled at the sight of people. I felt like I've been locked up in Mason's room for decades. It was torture, minus the Mason caring part. Once we were in front of the medical room, Mason knocked on the door before opening it. We walked into the medical room to see Sam sitting on a chair. He got up and smiled once he saw us.

"Alpha," he greeted with a nod. He then turned to me and offered me a soft smile.

"Hello, Tiana. How are you feeling?" He asked. I smiled up at him before answering. "I'm feeling better. Thanks for asking."

He nodded his head and walked up to a shelf before grabbing a box of pills.

"That's good. Here, take this," Sam said before handing me the box of pills. "These will help delay the next time the heat will hit you, that's if you don't plan on getting marked."

Mason and I both stiffened at his words. I slowly nodded my head and gave him a grateful smile.

"Thanks, but do you know how long will it be till it hits me again?" I questioned.

"Yes, about two to three weeks."

I nodded my head and sighed. That wasn't a long time, and I didn't want to go through that pain again. It's either I get marked, or I go through that pain again.

I looked up at Mason to see him staring intensely at me, he grabbed onto my hand and squeezed it, giving me comfort. I smiled up at him before looking up at Sam.

"Thank you."

He smiled at me and nodded his head. "Anytime. If you need anything then don't hesitate to ask." I nodded my head and Mason opened the door, giving Sam a nod.

"Ok. I will," I told him. And with that, we were out of the room. We were walking down the hall when I noticed that my hand was still in his. I stared at our joined hands and bit my lip. Mason stopped in his track, making me look up at him.

His eyes were dark as he looked down at me. I stared into his dark orbs, letting them pull me into a world of him and me only.

"Tiana," he whispered. "I'm not going to let you go through that again."

I furrowed my brows in confusion and tilted my head.

"Huh?"

He cleared his throat before stepping closer to me.

"I'm not going to let you go through that pain again. I'm going to mark you before it hits you again," he whispered, leaning his head closer to mine. His words made my eyes widen in shock. My breath got stuck in my throat as I stared at him. I gulped before letting out a deep breath.

"W-what?" I asked surprised. His lips curved and his eyes lit up.

"You heard me. I'm going to mark you," he claimed calmly like he was talking about the weather. How could he say that calmly while my mind was going haywire? My wolf was purring out in happiness while I was trying to comprehend his words.

Holy hell.

"Do you know what you're saying?" I asked him.

He nodded his head, looking into my eyes. "Yes. I'm making you mine."

I paced the room back and forth, playing with my fingers. A nervous sigh escaped my lips as I ran a hand through my hair. I bit my lip as I continued to pace the room in worry.

It's been a couple of days since I completely healed and saw Mason. Mason has been out of the pack for a while, he was dealing with the other pack and having meetings, so I wasn't able to see him after that time we walked out of the medical room. During these couple of days, I was planning on how to bring Adam's subject up.

I was so worried about him and I needed to know what was going to happen.

Today Mason came back, and I currently was trying to build up the confidence to go up to his room and talk to him.

Deep breaths, Tiana. In and out.

I inhaled and closed my eyes. "I can do this," I whispered to myself before opening them. I was nervous that Mason would get mad at me for bringing up the subject, and for me wanting to see him. I shook my head and pushed these thoughts aside before walking towards my bedroom door.

I opened it before walking out of my room. I walked down the hall silently before walking up the stairs. I made my way towards Mason's room in worry. As soon as I was in front of his door, I closed my eyes and sighed before knocking on it.

"Who is it?" Mason called from behind the door. I bit my lip as I heard his voice. It's been a long time since I heard it. His voice soothed me and brought me comfort.

"It's me, Tiana," I spoke.

"Come in."

As soon as I heard that, I twisted the doorknob, opening the door. My eyes widened and the air I breathed in got stuck in my throat at the sight in front of me.

Mason, standing there in all his glory, was staring at me, in only a towel.

Holy mother of chocolates.

"Ugh...I..I could come back later," I breathed out as I tried to keep my eyes on his face. His smirk grew as he walked up to me in all his glory. I forced my eyes to keep eye contact with his, so they wouldn't roam down his body shamelessly.

"No, it's ok. I was just getting dressed." He smirked as he grabbed some clothes from his closet. I gulped and nodded my head, entering the room and closing the door behind me.

"I wanted to talk to you about something," I whispered. He raised a brow but soon nodded his head.

"Let me get dressed first," Mason spoke. I immediately nodded my head and remained quiet as he entered the bathroom. I let out a shaky breath and closed my eyes. I was too nervous, and seeing him like that wasn't helping at all.

Neither was my wolf. She wanted me to jump him at that sight.

Not helping at all.

I breathed in once the bathroom door opened. A now dressed-up Mason walked out of the bathroom and stood in front of me. He raised a brow and stepped closer towards me.

"What is it that you wanted to talk to me about?" He asked. I bit my lip as I looked at him. I let a sigh escape my mouth before I spoke.

"Adam. I want to talk about him."

As soon as those words left my mouth, a small growl emerged from his chest, making me step back. He took a step closer to me, his eyes darkening a dark shade. He slowly walked up to me, making me hit my back against the wall.

"What do you want to talk about that f*cker?" He growled. I started playing with my finger as his intimidating stare made me nervous.

"Mason," I whispered. "I want to see him."

He growled and shook his head fiercely.

"No. I won't allow you to see him," Mason growled dangerously, making me breathe in.

"Please, Mason. I need to see him. He's my best friend, no matter what he does," I begged. His eyes darkened even more, another growl escaping his lips.

"Tiana. I can't. I won't allow you to see him," he yelled. I cringed from his loud voice and looked down at my hands, trying to prevent the tears from building up.

"Please. He's one of the closest people I know. He's like a brother to me," I whispered, feeling a tear slide down my cheek. I looked up at Mason to see him staring at me. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, squeezing the bridge of his nose with his pointer finger and his thumb. Mason soon opened his eyes and sighed.

"Fine, but only for five minutes."

I smiled and nodded my head, wiping the tears from my cheek.

"Thank you," I whispered. He didn't utter a word, just nodded his head and opened his bedroom door.

"Let's go," he grunted, stepping forwards. I walked up to him then out of the room. He closed the door behind him before we walked side by side. Minutes later we were in front of big doors that were guarded by two men. The men nodded their heads once they saw Mason. They gave me questioning glances before opening the big doors.

Mason walked in without saying a word. I silently followed him, scrunching my nose in disgust as the horrible stench hit my nostrils. It was a smell of blood and death, something that made a shiver run down my spine. I looked around the dark, dim place as I walked behind Mason. I gulped as Mason stood in front of a cell, looking back at me.

He opened the cell and walked in. I walked up to the cell and gasped as I saw what was in front of me. There, in the cell, was bloody, beat up Adam tied to the wall. His head snapped up and his eyes widened once they laid on me. My eyes watered and I stepped into the cell, very shocked at his sight.

"Tiana," he whispered.

"Adam," I breathed out as I walked up to him. Immediately, Mason's grip was around my arm, preventing me from stepping any closer to Adam. I snapped my eyes over to Mason and he gave me a warning look. I sighed and stopped before looking up at Adam.

"How are you? Are you better?" Adam asked. I nodded my head and smiled softly.

"Yes, I am."

He nodded his head before guilt sparkled in his eyes.

"Tiana, I'm so sorry," he whispered. "I didn't mean to do that. My wolf was in control. Trust me, I would never do that to you," he begged. I felt my eyes water and I closed them to calm myself down. Once I opened them I nodded my head, stepping closer to him even though Mason warned me not to.

"I know," I whispered. "It's ok. I forgive you."

I heard Mason growl out, making me glance at him. He took a step forward but I begged him with my eyes not to say anything.

"Thank goodness," he whispered, his eyes becoming blurry. "I was afraid that I lost you."

I felt a tear escape my eyes and I took another step forward, wanting to pull him in a hug. Adam has been there for me through the thick and thins. He's the person who experienced the pain with me when I went through the hardest moments of my life, and I didn't want to lose him. No one can ever replace the place he laid in my heart.

Before I took another step forwards, I was stopped by Mason. I looked up at him and grabbed him by his shirt, giving him a begging look.

"Mason, please. Let him go," I begged, tears streaming down my cheeks. "I forgive him. Just please, release him."

Mason shook his head in anger. "No. I won't."

"Please. What are you even planning on doing to him?" I yelled. Mason growled out, his growl echoing through the dungeon walls. He closed his eyes and sighed a sigh of frustration. Once Mason opened them, they stared directly at me.

He averted his stare from me and looked at Adam. Adam watched him in silence as he walked up to him, glaring at him.

"You have two choices you could choose from," Mason spoke to him. Adam gulped and nodded his head. He glanced at me before looking up at his alpha. "You can either get out of my pack and become a rogue." He started, making him and my eyes widen in shock.

"Or you can go to the Black Blood pack and be one of the pack warriors that will stay there."
