Chapter 45

My eyes widened in shock as I saw Mason grab Adam by his collar in fury and slam him against the wall. I gasped as I saw Mason throw a punch to his jaw, making Adam wince in pain. I tried sitting up so I could stop him before he ended up killing him but winced when the pain only grew.

I let out a worried breath as Mason threw another punch to his jaw in anger. Mason's eyes were pitch black, indicating that his wolf was on the verge of taking control. Adam's eyes were wide, they were full of guilt and fear as he stood in front of Mason.

Mason growled out, punching him in the jaw once again, making him fall to the ground. Adam grunted but didn't try to fight back as Mason pulled him back on his feet.

"F*cking bastard!" He yelled and slammed him hard against the wall. "If you touch a strand of her f*cking hair, I'll f*cking kill you."

I winced from Mason's loud booming voice and cringed once I saw Mason raise his fist and slammed it against Adam's cheek. I opened my mouth to say something but was left speechless. The pain was eating me up and it left me mute. I forced myself up and took a step closer to Mason.

What Adam did was wrong but he wasn't in control. And even though, he's my best friend and I don't want him dead.

"Mason," I whispered. Mason didn't stop as he threw Adam to the ground and kicked him. My eyes widened and my vision blurred once again. "Mason! Please stop!"

Mason didn't budge as he kicked Adam in his stomach. Adam's eyes were wide open as he stared at me with guilt. He didn't fight back, he didn't beg him to stop, he just laid there and begged me with his eyes to forgive him. A couple of tears fell out of my eyes at the sight of him like that.

"Mason! Stop! Before you kill him!" I yelled. Immediately, Mason went stiff and turned around, facing me with pitch-black eyes that burned with fury. His jaw clenched and so did his fist. I stepped closer to him and pulled him into a hug, hoping that it would calm him down.

He immediately wrapped his arms around my waist in a tight hold. He growled out and placed his head in the crook of my neck, inhaling my scent. His breath became steady and after a while, he pulled away, staring down at me with black eyes.

"It's ok," I whispered. He gulped and shook his head, before stepping out of my arms. He turned over to Adam and glared at him. Adam laid on the floor in his bloody state. I felt the urge to go up to him to make sure he was ok but stayed in my place to not anger Mason.

"He touched you, brought you pain. He deserves more than this," he growled.

After a second, two guards came running into the room with wide eyes. Mason snapped his head over to them and growled.

"Take him to the dungeons," he ordered, making my eyes widen. They immediately grabbed him and pulled him on his feet, before pulling him out of the room. A couple of tears fell out of my eyes. I was about to open my mouth when the same feeling of pain hit me, causing me to fall off my feet.

Mason immediately caught me before I hit the ground. I winced and closed my eyes as I felt my body grow hot.

"Tiana?" Mason whispered. "Are you ok?"

I let out a shaky breath and nodded my head.

"I-I'm fine," I gulped. He nodded her head and softly placed me on his bed. Mason brought his hand up to my face and wiped the wet tears off my cheeks. I closed my eyes as he caressed my cheeks softly, pulling me out of my stressful taste.

After a moment of complete silence, I opened them to stare at his dark orbs. His eyes were one of the most things that I liked about him, they pulled me into another world and made me feel like I'm the only one in there. I let out a breath then cleared my throat.

"Mason," I whispered softly. "Please don't hurt him."

His soft eyes immediately hardened and a growl emerged from within his chest.

"Tiana, he hurt you," he growled lowly. "He needs his punishment." I nodded my head but grabbed his hand in a tight grip.

"He already got his punishment. You almost killed him back there. Please, Mason. He's my best friend," I begged him, hoping that he wouldn't think of killing him. No matter what Adam did, I wouldn't want him dead. He was my first friend and the only friend I had for years.

"He f*cking attacked you! What kind of friend is that?" He yelled as he stood up in anger. His chest moved in and out as his breathing rate increased. "I should have finished him off."

My eyes widened and I immediately sat up. I grabbed onto his hand as my vision blurred and tears threatened to escape.

"His wolf was in control. My scent took him off guard! He would never do that to me," I told him, gripping onto his hand even tighter. A few tears fell down my cheek and I tried to ignore the pain that threatened to emerge.

"That's no f*cking excuse! Your scent is killing me over here and I'm not jumping on you. He just found the right time to take advantage of you!" Mason yelled. His eyes darkened severely making me shiver. I shook my head and closed my eyes, trying to prevent the tears from escaping.

"No," I whispered. "Adam wouldn't do that."

"He already did!" Mason growled, making me break out in sobs. I didn't want to believe it. Adam's like a brother to me and I didn't want to believe that he'd try to hurt me. Immediately, strong arms were wrapped around my body, pulling me into a hard chest.

I buried my face into his shirt as I cried. He ran his fingertips through my hair and whispered soothing words into my ear.

"Please don't cry," Mason whispered. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to shout. I was just angry."

I shook my head and wiped the tears off my cheeks. I took a deep breath in then looked up at him.

"No. It's ok. I understand," I whispered. "I'm just sad that he'd do something like that to me."

Mason didn't say a word. He just tightened his hold on me and continued to rub his fingers against my back. Soon, he pulled away and looked at me with slightly angry eyes.

"Where did he touch you?" Mason asked. My eyes widened at his question and I swallowed the lump that was in my throat.

"W-what?" I whispered, surprised.

"Where did he touch you? That f*cker, where did he lay his hands on you?"

Mason looked down at me with determination in his eyes. I opened my mouth shocked. Why was he asking this?

"Why do you what to know?" I asked. He furrowed his brows and leaned his head closer to mine.

"Tiana," he warned. I bit my lip before sighing out.

"He kissed me on the lips and neck. That's it," I whispered, looking down at my hands. Mason gripped my chin and made me look up at his eyes. I heard him growl lowly but he inhaled then sighed. He leaned his head closer to mine before capturing my lips with his.

My eye widened for a split second before closing on their own behalf. He lingered soft kisses on my lips. Kisses that made my head spin and heart flip kissed that left me wanting more. I softly gripped his shirt as he nibbled on my lower lip. His arms around my waist tightened, holding me in his strong arms.

"No one gets to touch these lips other than me," Mason whispered huskily against my lips, making me shiver. I tightened my hand against his chest and sighed into his lips.

What he said next made me choke on my own breath. "They're mine, you're mine."

My eyes widened as he started leaving sweet kisses on my neck, making me feel like I was swimming in a pull of warm sensations. A shaky breath escaped my lips as his lips did wonders. I closed my eyes and enjoyed this feeling. I bit my lip so a moan wouldn't escape.

He licked my sweet spot making me shudder. I gripped onto his shirt tighter as he gently kissed my neck.

"I'm the only one that can kiss you like this," he whispered lowly against my skin. My heart flipped and I couldn't help the moan that escaped my lips. Mason immediately pulled away, making me snap my eyes open. He looked down at me with a sly smirk and I felt my cheeks flush.

"I better stop because if I continue then I wouldn't be able to control myself," he said. I bit my lip and nodded my head. He took a step back and opened a drawer. He pulled out a napkin and grabbed the glass of water that stood on his desk.

"Here. Drink this," he ordered as he placed a pill in my hand. I raised a brow as I looked at him.

"What's this for?" I questioned.

"Sam told me to give you these. They'll make the pain lessen and make you fall asleep," Mason explained. I nodded my head and took the glass of water from his hand and gulped the pill down. He took the glass of water from me and laid me on the bed.

I sighed once I felt my lids become heavy. All I've been doing was sleeping but I guess that was better than feeling the pain and having to go through it. I yawned and sighed once Mason laid down next to me.

"Mason, don't you have lots of things to deal with?" I asked softly. He wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me against his chest.

"I do, but they're not important now," he whispered against my ear. I yawned again and nodded my head. I was too sleepy to ask anything else, all I wanted to do was sleep and not wake up. I closed my eyes and felt Mason kiss the top of my head before I fell into the darkness.

I slowly opened my eyes when I heard bickering in the background. I moved my head slightly, making the bickering stop for a split second before it continued.

"Dammit, Lina. Get out before you wake her up," I heard Mason growl.

"Mason, I've been wanting to see her for a long time now!" Lina argued loudly, making him shush her.

"Be quiet," he growled. "And you'll see her once she wakes up. She needs her rest now."

"She's been sleeping all day. I want to see my best friend," Lina whined, making me open my eyes. I let my eyes roam the room to see it was dark outside. I frowned as I looked out the window. How long was I asleep?

"She's either sleeping or in pain? Which sound better to you?" Mason asked her, his voice laced with annoyance and frustration.

"Ok, fine. I'll come back and see her when she's awake. But I see that you're taking the opportunity to be close to her," Lina told him. I had a strong feeling that she had a smirk on her face this instant. Knowing her, she'd take the chance to annoy Mason.

"What are you talking about?" He growled at her.

"I'm talking about how you're glued by the hip with her. You're not even leaving her side. I walked in here and you guys were cuddling," Lina explained. I remained still so I could listen to what they are talking about. I just had the urge to know what Mason would say.

"Lina," Mason warned. "She's going through pain, and the only person who could take that away is me."

"I know, I know...but you like cuddling with her, don't you?" She said the last part with a giggle.

I felt Mason get off the bed and then heard Lina's shriek in the air.

"Shhh, you're going to wake her up," he growled at her.

"Ok, ok. I'll go. I get it, you're mad that I got in between your cuddling-."

"Lina!" He growled, stopping her from continuing. She let out another giggle and that's when I stirred and turned to the other side, meeting Mason's and Lina's stare. Mason's eyes widened and he turned to Lina, glaring at her.

"Dammit, you woke her up." He accused. Lina raised her hands up defensively. Her eyes widened in happiness and she ran up to me, pulling me into a huge, crushing, bear hug.

"Oh my God. I'm so happy to see you ok! You got me so worried back there," Lina squealed, pulling away from me. I smiled up at her but winced slightly when the wave of pain stung me.

"Sorry," I smiled sheepishly at her. "I didn't know that this was going to happen to me."

"Don't worry, just a couple more days and this will end," she soothed me, rubbing my shoulders. She then looked up at Mason and smirked. "But if certain people did certain stuff, then you wouldn't be in this state."

My eyes widened at her words and so did Mason's. Lina was grinning from ear to ear as she watched our reactions.

"Are you saying it's my fault?" I asked her, slightly amused by what she was saying. She looked down at me and immediately shook her head.

"No, Tiana. I'm saying it's Mason's fault. If he wasn't a p*ssy all this time then you wouldn't be in this state," Lina stated, making my eyes widen even wider. Mason growled and walked closer to us, glaring at his sister.

"Lina," he warned. "Watch what you say."

Lina looked over at him and smiled, shrugging her shoulders.

"Hey, I'm only stating the fact."

Mason growled, making a laugh escape her mouth. She looked back at me and sat next to me.

"How are you feeling?" Lina asked.

"I'm feeling a little better," I whispered gratefully. I was dying for this pain to end, and thankfully, I was feeling a difference. Now, the wave of pain was only a stinging sensation. That's only when Mason's around. When he isn't, then it's too painful to bear.

Lina nodded her head and rubbed her hands over my back, "that's good. I guess we have Mason to thank for."

Mason didn't even try to argue. He just rolled his eyes and crossed his arms against his chest.

"Yeah, we do," I whispered, looking up at him. His hard eyes softened and his face relaxed, he gave me a small smile but immediately wiped it off when Lina looked towards him.

"Well, I'm glad you're ok. I'll come back to check up on you later. I have to go," Lina spoke as she stood up. I nodded my head and she kissed my cheek before pulling me into a hug.

Lina soon pulled away, smiling at me, "I would say take care, but I know Mason's doing that job perfectly."

I nodded my head but remained silent. She was right, he is. She took a step back and turned around, walking towards the door. Before she walked out the door, she turned around and faced us, a smirk plastered onto her face.

"Bye! You can continue your cuddling now."
