Chapter 40

I was walking down the hall, walking towards Lina's room so we could eat lunch together when I saw Mason walking towards me. I gulped as I saw his eyes darken a dangerous shade that screamed predator. I slowed down my steps as we got closer to each other. I looked down at the ground as he stared intensely at me. I looked up, meeting his stare. I let out a shaky breath as his eyes ranked my body, before looking at mine.

"Tiana," he whispered, nodding his head as a greeting. I started playing with my fingers, nervously. I don't know what was wrong with me, but his presence was making me feel different. He was making me feel shy and nervous.

"Hey," I whispered back.

"Where are you going?" He questioned.

I took a step back, getting shaken up from our close contact, and replied to his question, "I'm going to see Lina." His eyes darkened but I don't think it's because of my answer. He didn't look too happy, instead, he looked upset. He took a step closer to me and grabbed my hand softly.

"Why did you do that?" Mason asked. I furrowed my brows at him and tilted my head in confusion.

"Why did I do what?" I questioned. He took another step closer, making me step back without thinking.

"That," he growled. "You're stepping away from me. Why? Do I make you nervous?"

I let out a shaky breath and looked down, not knowing what to say. I knew the answer, yes he does. But what would he do if he knew?

"Tiana," he growled, softly. A shiver ran down my spine at the sound of him growl my name.

Mother of chocolates, what is he doing to me?

"Answer me," he whispered softly. A little gasp escaped my mouth once he placed his head in the crook of my neck and when his mouth touches my ear. He softly brushed his lips against my skin, making a shiver run down my spine another time. I swore I felt a smirk emerge on his lips against my ear. I bit my lip to stop another gasp from coming out of my mouth.

"Tiana," he whispered again. He backed me up until I was against a wall, as his arms were trapping me, with no room to escape. I felt my wolf purr out in joy, while I was trying to control my emotional feelings.

"Do I make you nervous?" He asked, this time licking my ear. I couldn't help the gasp that escaped my lips this time. He softly licked my ear then kissed it.

Holy mother of chocolates, what is he doing?

I bit onto my lip harder, nodding my head so he would stop asking. A low chuckle emerged from his chest but he didn't say anything, instead, he started to kiss my neck. My eyes widened as he nibbled on my neck, making my legs wobble and knees become weak.

After a while, he finally spoke, "good."

He kept nibbling on my neck, giving it soft kisses, making me want to faint. I let out another shaky breath as he found my sweet spot, making a moan escape my lips without my consent. My eyes widened and I immediately wanted to dig a big hole and die. I felt him smirk against my skin and he continued to kiss me at the same spot, guessing he knew that, that spot made my knees weak.

"Mason," I breathed out.

"Soon, one day, I'm going to mark you here," he whispered, making my eyes widened. He licked that spot, making me gasp.

"Mark?" I whispered.

He let out another deep chuckle, making my insides melt. "Yes, the werewolf term that makes you mine."

I gulped and gripped onto his shoulder, so I wouldn't drop on the ground from the overwhelming sensation.

"Yours?" I questioned, stupidly. He nodded his head and pulled his face from the crook of my neck, smiling down at me.

"Yes, mine. "

And with that, he crashed his lips onto mine.

A startled gasp escaped my lips as I jolted out of my bed, sweat stuck to me like a second skin. I closed my eyes and placed my hand over my beating heart, trying to calm it down. Once I took a deep breath in, I opened my eyes and immediately face palmed myself. I placed my head into my pillow and shrieked. I shrieked as my life depended on it.

What in the world is happening to me?

How could I dream about something like that?

I shrieked into the pillow once again and hit my head against it.

Stupid, Tiana. Bad, Tiana. Perverted, Tiana. Shame on you, Tiana.

How? Why?

I rubbed my hand over my face and shook my head, trying to remove those nasty thoughts from my brain. This is bad, why did I dream of something like that? And why am I disappointed that it wasn't real? I huffed out and sat up, looking around my room.

The dim room filled my surroundings. It was dark outside. I looked at the clock and saw that it was barely past midnight. I sighed out and got off of my bed and walked to the bathroom. Once I entered the bathroom, I washed my face and look myself in the mirror.

The memories of the dream flooded back, causing a blush to form on my cheek. I ran a hand through my hair and sighed, now, I knew, I wasn't getting any sleep. I walked out of the bathroom and towards my bedroom door. I was going to head to the kitchen, so I could get a drink of water.

Maybe then, my thoughts will calm down.

I walked down the hall, silently. As I walked towards the kitchen, I looked around, wanting to know if I was the only one awake. I guess there would be lots of pack members awake, but they were in their room, doing whatever they did.

I breathed out as I remembered the dream. Things were getting more complicated by the day. And thanks to Ryder's birthday, which was a couple of days ago, Mason isn't getting out of my head. I guess it was all my fault for acting like a child. I was drunk and wasn't noticing my actions until it was too late.

I shook my head, getting rid of these thoughts, and opened the kitchen door, quietly. I peeked my head into the kitchen and sighed when I saw no one in there. I walked towards the fridge and grabbed a cold water bottle and poured myself some water. As I was drinking, I saw a dark, huge figure walking into the kitchen. Making me spit all the water out and shriek out of fear.

My first thought was maybe it was Mason, but I immediately knew it wasn't because I would've smelled his scent and felt his presence. Instead, I smelt a scent that I smelled before but couldn't point out who it was. The figure walked into the dark kitchen, which, might I add, I didn't turn on the lights.

Thankfully, Mr. Dark guy over here turned on the lights, making my eyes widened at Mr. Buffy.

John, Crystal's mate, looked at me weirdly and raised a brow. I sighed out in relief.

Good, it's just him. For a second I thought it was the boogeyman.

"What are you doing out here in a time like this?" He questioned, then walked up towards me and opened the fridge.

I raised a brow at him.

"So the guy finally talks?" I asked. He snapped his head over at me and scowled.

"Excuse me?" He growled, looking fairly annoyed.

I shrugged my shoulders and gave him a kind smile.

"Nothing. What are you doing out here in a time like this?" I asked the same question he asked me with a sly smirk on my face. I'm not sure why, but this guy annoys me, and he makes me want to anger him. I know, bad idea.

He raised a brow, not looking annoyed, but amused.

"So the girl finally talks?" He asked. A chuckle escaped my lips and I smiled up at him.

"Ok, using my words, now, are you?" I raised a brow.

He pulled out a water bottle from the fridge and shrugged his shoulders.

"You started it," he muttered. I rolled my eyes and nodded my head, drinking from the water bottle that was in my hand.

"Yeah, you got a point."

"So, you're going to answer my question or what?" He questioned, placing the water bottle on the counter and crossing his arms against his chest.

I smirked up at him. "Question?"

He rolled his eyes at me and took another step closer to me.

"You know, you annoy me," he stated. I mentally rolled my eyes at him. Like I never knew.

"No, shit," I muttered. "I annoy everyone."

His eyes lit up with amusement and a chuckle escaped his mouth. "I can tell." He turned away and grabbed the water bottle before taking a few steps away from me.

"You couldn't sleep either?" I asked. He looked at me and shook his head.

"No."

"Yeah, me neither." I sighed out. He raised a brow at me.

"Is there a reason for that?" John asked. I looked down and felt a blush form on my cheeks.

I looked back at him and slowly shook my head, "ugh...no."

He narrowed his eyes at me, guessing he didn't believe me.

"You're lying," he exclaimed.

My eyes widened, "ok, yes I am." I confessed.

He stepped closer to me and raised a brow. "Mind telling me?"

Hell yes, I do. I'm not telling him. Why would I?

I plastered a polite smile on my face and spoke, "I just had a dream."

His lips cracked into a smirk, and his eyes lit up with amusement. "Ahh, now I understand. You had a wet dream."

My eyes widened at his words, they were wide enough for my eyes balls to fall out of their sockets. I coughed and immediately shook my head.

What in the world was he saying? I didn't have a wet dream. I just had a little inappropriate one but not a wet dream.

Straightforward much?

"What? No, I didn't." I yelled. "I just had a dream that made me wake up, and not able to fall back asleep."

By now, my cheeks were as red as a tomato. He slowly nodded his head, his smirk growing. I growled softly at him and took a step forward, wanting to walk away from him.

"Sure you did." He murmured. I growled at him and narrowed my eyes.

"I didn't."

He shrugged his shoulders. I huffed, a scowl crawling onto my face.

"You're the annoying one," I muttered, quietly, then started walking towards the kitchen door. He raised a brow at me, staring at me like I did a crime. I completely ignored his stare and continued walking towards him, since he was near the door.

While I was walking, I didn't notice that there was water on the floor and being the clumsy me, I had to slip and fall when I was right in front of John. A shriek came out of my mouth as I slipped and landed in John's arms, making his and my eyes widen in shock.

He took a step back, making him slip on the water too. And making us both fall to the ground. I let out another shriek, closing my eyes as we hit the floor. I groaned and opened my eyes, only to widen them in shock after I noticed that I was on top of a very annoyed John.

Who the hell spilled water on the floor?

I was about to get off of him, then immediately apologize for my clumsy behavior when I heard a voice yell from the kitchen doors, making us snap our heads in that direction in shock, only to look at a very, very, confused and angry Mason.

"What the hell are you two doing?" He yelled, stepping closer to us. I gulped and looked down at John then immediately got off of him. I looked at Mason and saw his eyes darken.

Shit.
