Chapter 32

A yawn escaped my lips as I opened my sleepy eyes to a bright morning. I groaned out in annoyance when I realized the reason for me waking up was because of a knock at my door. I groaned again and sat up, rubbing my eyes and a yawn escaping once again. I placed my feet on the ground, slowly standing up and stalking towards the door. I ran my hand through my hair, not really caring that I looked like a caveman who hadn't showered in years. Whoever was behind this door was the reason for disturbing my slumber, and all I wanted to do was go back to sleep.

I placed my hand on the doorknob and turned it, opening the door to see a frowning Adam behind it. I rubbed my eyes once again and looked at him with confusion written all over my face.

"Didn't I ever tell you to never wake me up?" I asked him, tilting my head as his frown deepened.

"Sorry, but if I didn't come then Lina would have come." He spoke. I raised a brow and stepped back, letting him enter my room.

"What do you mean?" I asked. He raised the bag that was in his hands and that's when I noticed that he was carrying a plastic bag.

"Lina had to do something so she told me to give this to you. She says thanks," he explained and handed me the bag. I looked at it and opened it, seeing a couple of my clothes Lina borrowed from me a couple of days ago. I nodded my head and gave him a smile.

"Thank you," I said and placed the bag on the ground. He nodded his head but didn't say anything. I frowned as I looked at his frowning face that didn't disappear. I stepped closer to him and placed a hand on his arm.

"Are you ok, Adam? You don't seem very well," I asked him. He looked at me and a sigh escaped his lips. Adam shook his head and gave me a small smile.

"Yes, I'm ok. Training is just tiring me out," he answered. I sighed out in relief and nodded my head.

"Ok. But hang in there," I told him. He nodded his head but then placed his hands in his pockets and stepped back.

"So, I heard you went out yesterday." He said. My eyes widened as I recalled the night, the night I had dinner with Mason, and the night we encountered a rogue. I couldn't help thinking of last night when Mason came to my room and handed me the bracelet I fell in his car.

I snapped my head up to Adam when a cough came out of his chest. I shook my head, snapping out of my thoughts, and brought my attention back to Adam.

"Yes, I did," I answered. He nodded his head and his frown deepened.

"And I heard you went out with the alpha," he spoke. My eyes perked up and I slowly nodded my head, not so sure where he heard that from. The only people I know who knew was Nick and Lina, but how did Adam know?

"Yes, that's true," I spoke. "But how did you know." As soon as I confirmed that a low growl erupted out of his chest.

"Dammit, Tiana." He cursed and ran a hand through his hair. I frowned and looked up at him in confusion.

"What's wrong, Adam? How did you know?" I repeated my question. He growled again and clenched his jaw.

"The whole pack knows. Apparently, someone saw you and Mason in the same car and driving off at night. And rumors erupted. Some are saying you guys are a thing, and some are saying that you are seducing him to be the luna of this pack. There are many rumors, Tiana. Tell me, why would you go out with him?" He growled.

I stepped back trying to register his words in my head. People actually thought that I was trying to get with the alpha to be the luna? I mean, the pack doesn't know that I'm his mate so of course, they would think that, but I still saw that as unacceptable, what if I wasn't going to dinner with him? What if I had some business with him and they saw? They would still have made those rumors. I shook my head in disbelief. This wasn't good, I just have to hope that it isn't such a big thing.

"Tiana!" Adam growled, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Tell me, why were you with him?" He asked again. I sighed out and stepped back.

"Adam, we went out to dinner with each other. I helped him, so it was kind of like a thank-you dinner. Nothing more, let's just hope that the rumors will fade away soon." I explained. His frown deepened but he didn't say a word. "Besides, the pack doesn't know that I'm his mate. So it's not that surprising that a person would spread a rumor once they saw a new pack member together with their alpha."

Adam growled lowly and I shook my head.

"Tiana. Was that all? Just a thank-you dinner or something else?" He asked. I furrowed my brows and crossed my arms against my chest.

"Yes, Adam. Why?" I asked. He signed and ran a hand through his hair. Adam didn't answer my question but asked me another one.

"Tiana, are you feeling something towards him?" He asked. I frowned and took a step back, not liking where this was going.

"Adam," I spoke. "What are you trying to say?" I asked. He took a step closer to me.

"Just answer me, do you feel anything towards him?" He asked. I looked down and clenched my fist.

"Adam, you and I both know that I don't want to," I said. I looked up at him but shook my head.

"Does that mean-." Adam wasn't able to continue as I caught him off.

"Don't worry. I don't feel anything towards him," I told him. He sighed out and gave me a small smile. I wasn't able to clear the frown off my face because my wolf and I knew, that no matter how hard I tried to ignore these feelings, I felt something towards him, and I didn't want to admit it.

"Tiana, I don't want you to get hurt again. Especially, since he is your mate." Adam spoke softly. I shook my head and faced him.

"Don't worry about me, Adam. I know what I'm doing." I told him. He nodded his head and pulled me in for a hug. I sighed and hugged him back, knowing that he's just worried for me. We soon pulled away and the smile on his face dropped.

"What are you going to do about the rumors? I'm afraid people will start to pick on you, do you think it's a good idea to talk with the alpha about this?" Adam asked. I shook my head.

"No, I don't think it's worth it. If it gets out of hand then I'll talk with him but I don't think they'll try to approach me." I told him. He nodded his head and placed his hands back in his pockets.

"Ok, just be careful," Adam told me. I nodded my head and gave him a smile.

"Don't worry," I said again. Adam took a step back and nodded his head.

"Ok. I have to go," He said. "I have training today, if you have nothing to do then come over and watch. I'll see you later." Adam turned around before giving me a smile and walked out of my room then closed the door behind him. As soon as he was gone I sat on my bed with a frown on my face. Great, now I'm going to have to deal with whatever the pack members think about me. I sighed and shook my head. I shouldn't really care what they think about me.

I stood up and walked towards the bathrooms with clothes in my hand as a yawn escaped my lips. I cleaned up and did my business. After I was fully dressed I looked at the mirror and sighed. I walked towards the door and stopped when my stomach growled in hunger. I opened the door and walked down the stairs, towards the kitchen to get something to eat before I faint out of hunger.

As I walked through the hall I noticed lots of eyes were on me. I rolled my eyes, of course, their eyes will be on me with all the rumors around. I tried my best to ignore the stares and whispering that they weren't trying to hide. Geez, how rude. I walked towards the kitchen and heard some stuff here and there about how I was seducing the alpha and was trying to be the luna of the pack. I scoffed at that one, if only they knew.

I opened the kitchen doors and walked into them to see lots of pack members eating breakfast. As soon as I stepped into the kitchen all eyes turned to me and whispering started to float in the air. I didn't pay much attention to it and walked towards the fridge to grab two eggs so I could make myself breakfast. I opened the fridge and grabbed the eggs then grabbed myself a plate.

I was just going to make myself eggs because I wasn't that hungry, and mainly because I didn't know how to cook other things. As I started making some scrambled eggs I noticed that the whispering got louder and they weren't trying to hide it. I rolled my eyes in annoyance. How rude. I heard lots of words that made me want to head up to whoever was saying these things and slap them in the face but I held my ground, not wanting to show them that I cared.

"Slut."

"B*tch."

"What a whore."

"No wonder the Alpha never killed her, she was seducing him the whole time."

"She's not even pretty."

"All she wants is the Luna title."

"That b*tch stole my mate."

I growled lowly at all their remarks but snapped my head back as I heard the last part, knowing exactly who it was from. The one and only, Chloe. I narrowed my eyes at her as she had an angry face plastered on her caked-up face, she started walking towards me slowly as her minions walked behind her. Everyone's eyes were on us and lots of people had shocked expressions written on their faces at what she said. Others had expressions of anger, and hate. Great, now everyone thinks I'm a mate stealer.

I brought my eyes back at Chloe as she walked up to me with her fist clenched, and eyes twinkling with hatred. My frown deepened and I stepped back, not wanting to cause any sort of drama that will just end up hurting my head.

"Did she say mate?" Someone gasped.

"Yes, she did!" Someone else replied.

"Does that mean that girl," they said pointing at me, "is trying to steal her mate? How awful!" My eyes widened at that and I growled lowly. I looked at Chloe who was now standing directly in front of me with a smirk on her face.

"You see what you brought to yourself? This is what happens when you touch something that's not yours," Chloe sneered. I closed my eyes to calm myself down, I didn't really have any time for this and all I wanted to do was walk away. But that would make me look weak. I opened my eyes and crossed my arms against my chest, looking into her eyes.

"Last time I checked, he wasn't yours either," I told her. Her eyes widened in anger and a growl came out of her throat.

"Back off, he's mine." She growled. I shook my head.

"You and I both know that that's not true," I whispered in her ear and gave her a small smirk as I saw anger flame up in her eyes. "He's not your mate."

"How dare you say that?" She growled. I looked at the people that were in the kitchen to see everyone watching in silence. "You mate stealer." She said even louder and before I could say anything else a fist flew right towards me and landed on my cheek, making me fall down to the hard ground. My eyes widened as a felt my lip throb in pain. I looked up at Chloe to see a satisfied smirk on her lips and everyone else had smirks on their faces. I furrowed my brows but before I could get up and lay a punch on her face, a loud growl erupted in the air, making all stares moving towards the source of the sound.

My eyes widened as I saw an angry Mason walking towards us, making the smirk on Chloe's face vanish and a frown replacing it. Everyone in the kitchen stood there staring at us with wide eyes as Mason stalked towards us.

"Chloe," Mason growled dangerously low.

"Babe, I can explain. She attacked me first-," Chloe started but was caught off by Mason's growl. He glared at her and his eyes turned black, indicating that he wasn't happy, nope. He was mad. She gulped and Mason's attention went on me. I immediately got off of the ground and his eyes went down to my lips then back at Chloe. He stepped closer to her and his glare on her hardened and another low growl was heard in the thick air.

"You made a wrong move, Chloe." He growled lowly. "I'll deal with you later," he sneered. And with that he turned over to me and grabbed my hand, pulling me out of the kitchen, making all eyes staring at us widen in shock. I was shocked as well as we walked down the hall and when he pulled me towards the medical room. I remained silent as we entered to see no one inside. He didn't say anything but turned around, looking for something.

"Sit," he ordered. I didn't say anything and sat down. I stared at him as he grabbed a small cotton ball and something that looked like medicine. I didn't know what to say, what to say after he saw all that. It was quite embarrassing to know that he saw someone punch me that easily, if only he didn't intervene that earlier, and I would've shown Chloe that she was messing with the wrong person.

"It's ok," I told him, knowing that he was going to help me with my bruised up lip. "It will heal fast."

Mason didn't say anything and walked towards me. His eyes went down to my lip then up at my eyes.

"We don't want these lips of yours to be infected, now do we?" He asked lowly. I shook my head but remained silent. Mason started cleaning my lips in silence. And I looked at him to see him putting all his attention on my bruised lip.

I tried not to wince as my lips stung when he placed the cotton on my lips. Mason's eyes went up to mine and he pulled the cotton away from my lip.

"I'll deal with her, she won't bother you from now on," Mason spoke out. I shook my head.

"It's ok, you don't have to," I said softly. He shook his head and placed the cotton back on my lips.

"No, she needs to learn her place." He told me. I slowly nodded my head but didn't say anything else. He looked into my eyes as he rubbed the cotton on my lip. I thought about Chloe's behavior ever since I came into this pack and decided in asking him the question that always roamed my mind.

"Chloe hates me, and I'm guessing it isn't for no reason. Were you and her a-," I started but stopped when Mason growled. I looked at him to see his eyes darkening. Mason backed away and shook his head, looking into my eyes.

"No, we were never. She's just trying too hard and can't get that I don't want her." He spoke, "I've never even been in a relationship." My eyes widened and a cough escaped my lips, immediately followed by laughter. I laughed like that was the funniest joke in the world. As soon as my laughter died I looked at Mason to see him staring at me seriously. I inhaled and stared at him.

"What's so funny?" He asked.

"The joke-," I started but stopped when I saw that his face held no amusement to it. Wait, was he serious? "You weren't kidding?" I asked out in shock. Mason frowned and shook his head.

"Does it look like I'm joking?" He asked. My eyes widened and I stared at him in utter shock. He wasn't joking? I couldn't believe it. Mason never dated before? This was so surprising to me and even though I couldn't believe it, my wolf was happy that her mate never dated another girl. I stayed silent and watched as he went back to cleaning my lip. The whole time he was doing that I was thinking of what he said. It was too hard to believe.

After a while he backed away and looked down on it, inspecting it. A smirk then crawled onto his face which caused a confused expression to crawl on mine.

"All done," he said. "But there's one more thing that I got to do for it to be completely healed." He stated. I raised a brow at him.

"And what's that?" I asked. He leaned closer and amusement perked up in his eyes as his smirk grew.

"This."

And with that he placed his lips onto mine, causing my eyes to widen in shock.
