Chapter 31
I watched in shock as the growling rogue came stalking towards us, making a vicious growl erupt from Mason's chest. I looked at Mason to see him carefully eyeing the rogue with a dangerous glint in his eyes, ready to pounce out of the car any minute now. I looked back at the rogue and mentally shook my head. He came growling at the wrong person. And before I could even blink, Mason was out of the car and shifted into his wolf form, running towards the rogue.
My breath was caught in my throat when Mason didn't waste any time digging his teeth into the rogue's neck. The rogue growled out in pain as blood started flowing down his body. It didn't look like Mason needed any help, he could take him down in a single second but that didn't stop my wolf from worrying. She kept growling at me to get out of the car and help him even though Mason told me not to get out before he jumped out of the car.
Besides, I wasn't that dumb. If I get out then Mason might get distracted and that may give the rogue a chance to attack him. I watched as Mason bit into the rogue once again, causing him to howl in pain. I then snapped my head towards the trees when I saw familiar wolves running towards the scene.
Nick and other pack warriors came into sight and by now the bloody rogue was unconscious. I knew he wasn't dead because of his chest that kept rising then falling. I got out of the car and Nick and Mason transformed back to their human forms. Some pack members passed them shorts and when they were fully dressed I walked up to them.
"What happened?" Mason growled out in anger. "Who is he?"
"We found him right in front of the borders. We started chasing after him until you caught him," Nick said.
Mason looked at the rogue that was laying on the ground then back at Nick.
"Take him to the dungeons. Let's see if we can try to get something out of his mouth," Mason sneered. The pack warriors nodded their heads and grabbed the rogue in a tight grip then walked off into the woods, and out of sight.
I walked closer as Nick looked at Mason with a hard expression.
"Do you think you'll get something out of his filthy mouth?" Nick asked. Mason growled which caused my frown to deepen.
"I'll make him, even if it means death," Mason said lowly. I stepped closer and that made Nick and Mason look at me. Once Nick laid eyes on me his hard emotionless eyes softened, and Mason's angry face relaxed a bit.
"Tiana," Nick greeted. I gave him a small smile. "I'm sorry about what happened. Are you ok?" Nick asked wanting to make sure everything was ok. I couldn't help feeling that he wasn't just asking about the incident that happened right now, I felt like he was asking about our dinner too. I nodded my head and turned over at Mason to see him talking to some of the pack warriors, I then looked at Nick and gave him a small smile.
"Yes, everything is ok," I replied. Nick returned the smile and then went to talk to a pack warrior. I turned over towards Mason's direction when I felt his scent get stronger, to see him walking towards me. He had a hard face on, invisible to any kind of emotions, hid from every eye that laid eyes on him. I frowned at his appearance but couldn't blame him. What just happened wasn't something pleasant, especially after the nice dinner we had.

Mason walked closer to me and sighed.
"Head back to the packhouse with Nick," he said softly but with a frown on his face. I stared at him and then back at Nick, who was waiting for me. "What about you? Are you coming?" I asked. He shook his head and his face hardened.
"No, I need to deal with that rogue." He answered. I slowly nodded my head in understanding and backed away. "Ok," I said softly and then turned around and walked towards Nick. I stopped and looked back to see Mason staring at me. I sighed and continued walking towards Nick.
"How was your night?" Nick asked, a small smile crawling onto his lips. I gave him a small smile as we started walking towards the pack house with warriors behind us.
"Surprisingly, it was nice," I told him looking at the ground. I glanced at Nick to see that smile on his face grew.
"That's good, Mason needed something like that," Nick stated softly. I nodded my head.
"It was going well, until...you know." I sighed. Nick nodded his head and sighed as well.
"Let's see if we can get something out of him, maybe he knows why we've been getting rogue attacks lately," Nick stated. I nodded my head.
"Do you think he has something to do with them?" I asked. Nick shrugged his shoulder and his eyes darkened.
"I really don't know, Tiana." He replied. I nodded my head and looked forward into the dark night as we walked towards the packhouse. Once we entered it, Nick said goodnight and told me to go to my room. I didn't have to hear him twice as I rushed towards my room.
Once I stepped foot into my silent room, a sigh escaped my lips. I turned the lights on and immediately changed out of the clothes I was wearing. By now I was exhausted so I didn't waste any time jumping on my bed. As soon as I closed my eyes a loud knock was heard outside my room. I groaned and sat up.
"Come in," I shouted. My bedroom door opened and an excited Lina came walking into my room. As soon as I saw her I knew exactly why she was here. I rolled my eyes and laid back down on my bed.
"Tell me everything," she squealed. I looked at her and rolled my eyes again at her excitement.
"Where did you guys go? What did you guys do? Was he nice to you? Did you guys kiss?" She asked as she sat on my bed. I sat up and her excited face turned into confusion. "Wait, how come Mason isn't in the packhouse? Please don't tell me you ditched him! Oh my God-," I caught off Lina's blabbering before she could say anything else stupid.
"Lina! I didn't ditch him," I said. Her confused face relaxed.
"Then where is he?" She asked. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
"You see...while we were on our way back here...," I said but stopped and looked at her. She furrowed her brows and confusion was written on her face once again.
"What happened, Tiana?" She asked worriedly.
"We encountered a rogue," I answered. Her eyes widened and a gasp came out of her lips.
"A rogue? Oh my God! You can't be serious!" She gasped. "I can't believe, that above all days, it had to appear on this night!" She said as she stood up.

"Calm down, Lina. Everything's ok. We were coming back home anyway and Mason dealt with him. He's now in the dungeons," I explained. Her face relaxed and she signed out in relief.
"Oh. Well, that's good. At least no one got hurt," she spoke.
"Thankfully no one," I reassured her.
Lina nodded her head and then smiled once again.
"You didn't tell me. How was the date?" She asked excitedly, her worried state completely vanished, like it was never there. I rolled my eyes and stood up, facing her lit up face.
"Lina," I groaned. "How many times do I have to tell you that it was not a date?" I asked her. I crossed my arms against my chests and raised a brow at her. She rolled her eyes and then nodded her head.
"Ok, ok. Just how did it go?" Lina asked. I recalled the night and gave her a small smile, which leads to her smiling as well.
"It was actually nice. We went to this diner. Ate some good food and we were out. Nothing special, but nothing bad either." I explained to her. She started squealing and I couldn't help rolling my eyes again.
"Oh my God! You loved it! Didn't you?" Lina gushed. A chuckle escaped my lips, finding it funny that she was happier than me.
"I would be lying if I said I didn't like it," I said then turned around and sat on my bed. Lina started squealing some more, like a fat pig that was excited about food. I chuckled again and shook my head at her.
"Calm down there, Ms. Piggy." I joked. She laughed and sat next to me.
"I'm like so happy. You and my brother are finally getting along," she said out in happiness. I smiled at her reaction and shrugged my shoulders. I wouldn't know if those were the right words but I couldn't deny the fact that something was changing. I didn't know what to feel, I was still confused. But my wolf was a hundred percent happy, and I was happy that she was happy.
Lina stood up and a sigh of relief came out of her mouth. She gave me a smile and ran a hand through her hair.
"I'm happy that things went well." She told me. I smiled up at her and she looked at the clock before looking back at me. "I should go now. Goodnight, Tiana." She said as she walked towards the door.
"Night, Lina," I said back. And with that, she was out of my room as her scent lingered in the air. I sighed out, exhausted as I fell on my bed that felt like fluffy clouds. After this long day, all I wanted to do was sleep. And I didn't want anyone to interrupt my slumber. I closed my eyes and a yawn escaped my lips. Feeling like any minute now I was going to fall into the deep, deep abbess. Where I can not think about my worries or my problems, and just relax for a short period of time.
Unfortunately, I can't just have that because someone knocked on my door, making my eyes jolt open and my body jerking off of the bed. I sighed out in annoyance as my sleepy state vanished like it was never there. Can I ever get a goodnight's sleep without anyone interfering? I groaned out and placed my feet on the ground, standing up and glaring at the closed door, not just glaring at the door, but at the person who was behind it. I sighed again and walked towards the door as a frown crawled onto my lips. Did Lina come back? I wondered.
My frown deepened as I caught onto the scent that was behind my door. I frowned in confusion, what was he doing outside my room? I shook my head and placed my hand on the doorknob, twisting it gently and opening the door to face a silent Mason.
I stared at him as he looked into my eyes. Mason had a hard face plastered, not visible to any emotions. His hard face relaxed a bit and he placed his hand in his pocket.
"Is there something wrong, Mason?" I asked. "Did something happen to the rogue?" Mason shook his head and stepped closer to me.
"No, the rogue is still unconscious, so we're waiting for him to wake up. Then we'll see if we can get something out of him," Mason explained. I nodded my head.
"Oh. Ok. So why are you here?" I asked him, confused as to why he was here at a time like this. His eyes widened and a cough escaped his lips as he looked down at the ground. I furrowed my brows in confusion as he pulled something out of his pocket.
"You dropped this in my car," he spoke, showing me my bracelet that I was wearing. My eyes widened and I looked down to my wrists to find nothing around it. Nothing was there. I must have fell it without noticing. I looked back at Mason and gave him a small smile.
"Thank you," I whispered. I grabbed my bracelet in my hand and Mason's hard eyes relaxed, showing a glint in them.
"You're welcome, Tiana." He whispered back, so soft that if I wasn't a werewolf then I would never have heard it. I cleared my throat and looked into his dark eyes, ones I could get lost in forever.
"I want to apologize." He spoke. I frowned at his statement. "The rogue ruined the night for you," he said. I immediately shook my head. Disagreeing.
"It wasn't your fault. In fact, I had a nice time." I told him with a smile on my face. Trying to reassure him that indeed, it was a night to repeat. And he was not at fault for what happened. At my words, a smile appeared on his lips. Making my breath caught in my throat.
"You had a nice time?" He asked, his smile turning into a smirk. I scoffed and rolled my eyes.
"Don't make me repeat myself," I told him. A chuckle escaped his lips and his eyes lit up in amusement.
"I'm glad you liked it." He said as he placed both his hands in his pockets. "Maybe, one day, we could repeat it," he spoke softly. My eyes softened and I gave him a small smile.
"Maybe," I whispered. And with that, he turned around and walked off. I couldn't break my gaze away from him until he was out of sight. A sigh escaped my lips and I ran my hand through my hair. A smile made its way to my lips and my wolf was purring out in delighted. I stepped back and closed the door, then walked towards my bed, placing the bracelet that was in my hands on my desk.
"Maybe," I repeated again to myself. And with that, I laid on my bed and fell into the deep slumber that was calling out to me.
