Chapter 27
Two weeks, it's been two damn long weeks since that day. Since the day I fought with Mason and since we encountered the vampire. So far the vampire is nowhere to be seen. Unfortunately, Mason nor the pack warriors were able to catch him. No one saw him ever again and slowly everything was getting back to normal. These two weeks Mason wasn't in the packhouse often, I guess he was in other packs discussing the issue. I'm not sure what he's planning on doing but I was happy that I didn't bump into him as much.
Our pack is still on the lookout just in case but I couldn't help thinking that maybe that was just a coincidence. I mean, if the vampire meant to harm us then why didn't he attack us that day? What if our guards are up for no reason? Either way, everything was slowly getting back to normal and people were able to get out when the sun sets more often as long as they had guards with them.
These two weeks my wolf has been whining and it's annoying me to the point I want to pull my hair out. She didn't like how I acted on that day. I didn't like how I acted either but what happened happened. Besides, I wasn't the only one that was being stubborn and rude. I guess I did start it when we disobeyed his orders but I couldn't keep my mouth shut.
I would be lying if I said I was happy where we left off. I couldn't help but feeling guilty and knew that if we wanted to be on good terms then I should face him and talk about what happened. This wasn't healthy and no matter how much I didn't want to see him I knew that I should. Maybe then my wolf would calm down.
I looked at the tv that was in front of me and sighed when I found nothing interesting. At the moment I was sitting in the living room as pack members came and go as I switched from channel to channel. Mostly everyone just ignored me as I sat on the couch. I didn't really socialize with the pack that much. I barely knew many people but I didn't really care. I was happy with the people I already got along with.
I furrowed my brows in disgust when a familiar scent hit my nostrils. Not a natural one though, one that had perfume more than the natural scent. I looked over to my right when someone that I wasn't too fond of came walking into the living room.
Chloe looked at me and a disgusted expression crossed her features. I rolled my eyes and looked away. From the corner of my eyes, I could see her and her minions walking towards me. I tried my best to ignore her but I couldn't help looking at her when she was close to me.
When I laid eyes on her caked face I raised a brow at her.
"Get off," she ordered. I frowned and tilted my head.
"Excuse me?" I asked as I glared at her. How rude. Who does she think she is? The Luna? I scoffed at that one.
"I said get off, you're sitting on my spot," she ordered as her minions nodded their heads in agreement. I raised a brow and looked down at the couch before looking back at her.
"Oh, I'm sorry. But I don't see your name on it," I said innocently as a small smirk crawled on my lips. Her eyes turned a shade darker and a growl came out of her mouth.

"Someone needs to teach you your place," she growled. I crossed my arms against my chest and stood up facing her.
"I know my place very well, but can you enlighten me where your place is?" I asked her as she growled another time.
"B*tch, you don't know who you're talking to, do you?" She hissed and I raised my brow at her.
"No, I don't really know. But let me enlighten you, I don't really care," I growled at her. She gasped and her eyes darkened with anger.
"B*tch," she repeated another time. My eyes widened when she raised her hand up in the air ready to slap me when someone caught her hand. I looked up at my savior to see the least person I expected. Take a guess, a wild guess. If you guessed Mason, then you're right.
Since when did he come back?
My eyes widened even more as he growled at her. Her eyes widened as well with fear as he glared at her.
"Chloe," he growled at her. "What did I tell you the other time?" He asked.
"You didn't tell me anything," she whined as his grip tightened on her hand.
"I did," he growled. I frowned at that and wondered what he told her, was it something about me?
"Why are you defending her?" She asked with anger. He growled again but before he could say anything she continued. "Why did you tell me to not get near her and not bother her? You don't treat anyone like that, not even me!" She growled in anger. My eyes widened at her words. Mason growled again but this time even louder. I looked around and luckily there wasn't anyone near us at the moment.
"Enough," he yelled. She whimpered and flinched from his voice. "When I tell you something you listen, do I make myself clear?" He asked.
She turned to me and gave me a deadly glare then looked back at Mason.
"This isn't you," she growled. "This girl," she said then pointed at me, "changed you. It's all her fault." She said. My eyes widened. How did I change him? Did I really? Besides, why is she acting as if she's his ex-girlfriend or something? My wolf growled at that and even though I shouldn't really care I couldn't help but dislike the idea. Just a little.
"Chloe," he growled at her lowly. "That's enough, get out of my sight." She huffed out in annoyance and soon walked out of the room with her hands clenched in anger. As soon as she was out of sight I looked over at an angry Mason and didn't really know what to say.
He looked down at me and we stared at each other for a couple of seconds in silence before he looked away and took a step back. I was debating with my inner self whether to thank him or ask him what she meant but before I could even open my mouth he was out of the room in an instant. I stared down at the ground and sighed.
Every day things get more confusing and it just makes things harder for me. I sighed again and ran my hand through my hair in frustration.
The next thing I know I was pulled to a hard chest as someone's arms wrapped around me. I looked up to see a smiling Adam staring down at me. I smiled back at them and then hugged him as well. Maybe talking to Adam will get my mind off things for now.

"I missed you so much," he said teasingly. I rolled my eyes and then pulled away.
"The last time you saw me was like four days ago," I told him. He chuckled but shook his head.
"No, it was five days ago." He corrected me. I shrugged my shoulders at him.
"Same thing," I told him.
"Even though, didn't you miss me?" He asked with puppy dog eyes and a pouted lip. I snickered and crossed my arms against my chest.
"Ha! Me? Miss you? Never in a lifetime," I spoke jokingly. His pout grew even more and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Of course you would, do I have to remind you that I'm your only best friend?" He questioned. I furrowed my brows at him and gave his shoulder a soft punch.
"You're not my only best friend, I have Lina. Remember?" I asked him. He shrugged his shoulder.
"Well I've known you longer," he muttered. I rolled my eyes at him.
"So how was that training thing Nick took you and some other members along?" I asked him. He sighed out and shrugged his shoulders again.
"It was ok, but tiring too. I barely got any sleep," he answered with a pout. I rolled my eyes. Since Adam was a pack warrior in training he had to go to this place which I don't know where exactly and practice. It was kind of like a camp with other pack warriors in training.
"Poor you!" I said sarcastically. He rolled his eyes but then smiled.
"I have training practice right now, you going to come and watch?" He suggested. I shrugged my shoulders but nodded my head.
"Yeah, I really don't have anything to do right now," I said. He smiled and nodded his head.
"Great!" He stated. "Meet me in the yard," he said before walking out the back door. I decided to head over to the kitchen to grab something to eat since I didn't have lunch before I went to the yard. I walked towards the kitchen and walked through the big doors and towards the fridge.
I opened the fridge and saw the leftover pizza. I took three pieces out because being the pig I am, less than three does not satisfy me. I walked towards the microwave and placed them in it then waited for them to be ready. I was looking at my nails in silence when I heard someone enter the kitchen. I looked up and then glared when I saw Kyle walking in.
Once he saw me a smirk crawled onto his lips and he strolled towards me. I tried my best to ignore him because trust me when I say this, Chloe was enough for one day. I don't need anyone else running on my parade. I turned around and grabbed a plate, I then placed my three slices of pizza on it. The next thing I know one of my slices of pizza was gone from my plate and in someone else's hand.
I glared at Kyle in anger.
Oh hell to the no. Not my pizza.
"Give it back," I growled at him. He smirked and shrugged his shoulders.
"You have two, is that not enough?" He asked. I growled again and right then and there I was plotting his death. No one lays hand on my food.
"No, hand me it right now before I make you regret it." I threatened him. His eyes lit up in amusements and he leaned towards me.
"What are you going to do? Call your sweet alpha to come to your rescue?" He questioned. "Well guess what, he's not here." He said. I growled again and stepped closer to him.
This is what he gets for laying his nasty fingers on what's mine.
"No, I won't. But do you know what I could do?" I asked. He raised his brow looking bored and I smirked at him. "This," I said, before raising my knee and hitting him right where the sun doesn't shine. He groaned out in pain as he fell to the floor with the pizza still in his hands. Right at this moment, his eyes lit up with furry and I couldn't help but feel satisfied. I took a step back with the plate in my hand and smirked down at him.
"Oh, you can keep the pizza. I don't want it anymore since you touched it." And with that, I speed-walked out of the kitchen as fast as I could before he could catch up to me.
I walked out of the packhouse and towards the yard with a satisfied smirk on my face. I knew he wasn't going to come after me when there were people around, besides, I wasn't afraid of him. I saw Adam training with some other pack members and waved at him. He gave me a smile and then continued. I sat on one bench and then started eating the two slices of pizza that were on my plate in delight.
I continued to watch Adam do whatever he did in boredom as I had nothing better to do. This went on for about an hour before I decided to head back inside to do something else, maybe see Lina or something. I said goodbye to Adam and then walked towards the packhouse before remembering what happened with Chloe and Mason and couldn't help questioning where Mason was at the moment.
I stared at the ceiling in silence. I've been staring at it for who knows long. It's like I've been doing that more often these days. I guess it's a habit. I stare at the ceiling in silence for hours when I'm thinking and get too carried away. I kept thinking about today and two weeks ago. It was hurting my head but I didn't know if I should apologize to him for being such a brat on that day or thank him for at least sticking up to me today.
Maybe both.
I sighed and sat up. If I don't do this then I'm going to be thinking about it for a long long time. Especially when my wolf is involved. I ran my hands through my hair and stood up. Let me just get over it. I opened my bedroom door and walked out of my room. I slowly and hesitantly walked towards Mason's office. While I was walking I was thinking of what I should say.
Once I was directly in front of his office I knocked on the door.
Nothing.
I knocked again but nobody responded. I tried to open the door but it was locked. I guess he wasn't here. I looked around the hallway and wondered where he could be. I started walking to see if I could bump into him because that's what we were best at doing. Bumping into each other when we least expected it.
I soon caught a glimpse of Nick and walked up to him. Maybe he knows where he is.
"Hi, Nick." I greeted him. He smiled down at me.
"Hello, Tiana. Is there something I could help you with?" He asked. I smiled awkwardly at him and hesitantly spoke.
"Ugh...yeah, there is," I answered. He nodded his head for me to continue. "Do you know where Mason is?" I asked. His smile grew and he nodded his head.
"Yes, a matter of fact I do. But why?" He questioned teasingly. I didn't know what to say but before I could say anything he spoke. "I'm just teasing you, he's in his room. Taking a break from all the work he has to do."
I smiled at him.
"Thanks," I said before slowly walking away.
Well, that wasn't awkward at all.
I slowly walked up to the floor his room was on and started walking in the direction where his room was at. I turned a corner but immediately backed away when I saw someone in front of Mason's room. I poked my head and my eyes widened when I saw someone entering his room without even knocking. But that wasn't the reason why I was shocked. No, it was because the person was the last person I wanted to see today.
And that person was Chloe. She walked into his room like she owned the place. I frowned and took another look to see her closing the door behind her. Right then and there I felt a sting in my heart and never did I hate her even more than before.
And the only thing that was running through my mind was, why on earth was she in Mason's room?
