《Mason's Impossible Prey | ✔️》Chapter 20

Chapter 20
I turned over to Adam when I heard him speak.
"Wow, it's beautiful." He whispered as he looked out the window. I smiled slightly as I also looked out the window to be greeted by the blue empty skies and the beautiful huge ocean.
"Yeah, it is." I agreed. The ocean was the most thing that caught my attention as we flew above it. I was one of those people who were afraid of the ocean. Especially if I was in a place like this. Just imagine being stranded in the ocean when you don't know what the hell is under you. For example sharks, I am terrified of them but we also don't know what else roams these waters. Only time can tell.
That's why I'm more of a pool person, not a beach type. And even if I do go to the beach I won't get in the water.
I looked back at Adam and found his eyes on me, he had a smile on his face as I raised my brow.
"What?" I asked. He shook his head and looked elsewhere.
"Nothing." He muttered as he faced away from me. After twenty minutes in the air, a flight attendant came and asked us if we wanted something. Adam and Ryder asked for food while the rest of us asked for drinks. Lina kept looking back at me with a smile on her face as she kept telling me how much fun we were going to have.
I was excited as well and I hoped that this vacation will be as good as I'm hoping for it to be.
I was looking out the window when Adam spoke again.
"I'm glad," he said. I turned to him in confusion.
"You're glad for what?" I asked. His eyes turned a shade darker and it took him a while to reply.
"I'm glad he didn't come." He claimed. I was caught off guard and I knew exactly who he was talking about.
"Why?" I questioned.
"Because he would have made things difficult, and awkward. Besides, I still don't like him." He answered me. It wasn't too hard to figure out that they aren't fond of each other. Even though Adam didn't give me a solid reason why it wasn't hard to guess. I mean, not many people like Mason so I didn't really think Adam would like him. And for Mason, he doesn't look like that type of person who will like anybody. More like everybody.
I nodded my head slowly. I didn't really know what to say. I do agree that he could have made things difficult and more awkward but I couldn't deny that I didn't agree about the last part. Yes, I'm not fond of him but I don't loath him at the same time. It's not like I had a choice.
I pushed those thoughts away and looked back at Adam wanting to change the subject.
"So, how is your training coming along. Is Nick too hard on you?" I asked.
"It's ok, Nick is a little harsh but it's only for the best of us. Especially since those rogue attacks we've been getting for a while." I nodded my head.
"What's up with all the rogue attacks this pack has been getting?" I asked Adam. He shrugged his shoulders as he ran a hand through his hair.
"I don't really know but this is the strongest pack we're talking about. I wouldn't be surprised if they had enemies. And you know rogues, they will do anything to try to take down an alpha. It's what they do," he replied.

"I guess that makes sense," I muttered.
The flight attendant came with the drinks and food with a smile on her face. I grabbed my drink as Adam grabbed his food and started chugging it down his throat like a hungry pig. If I was a human I would be questioning how he's still fit when he eats too much but since I was a werewolf I already knew the answer.
Since we are werewolves our metabolism is faster therefore that means we burn fat a lot faster than humans do so it leads us to our fit shape, another conclusion is because of our wolves. We have to let our wolves run so they won't lose their sanity. If they don't they go little nuts. They have to have control at times and because of that, we run a lot and exercise.
If it wasn't for those two reasons I would be fat like a watermelon. What can I do? I love food.
After a while of staring out the window in silence, I heard a low snore coming from next to me. I turned towards Adam and smiled when I found him asleep. I shook my head and chuckled slightly. Lina looked back and laughed when she saw Adam. I smiled at her and scooted to the front a bit to talk with Lina.
"How much till we land?" I asked.
"I think we have half an hour left. Or less," she replied. I nodded my head and my thoughts started drifting to today.
"Lina?"
"Yes?" She questioned.
"How exactly did you threaten Mason?" I asked. She smirked and shrugged her shoulders.
"I know him, that means I know his weak spots." She answered. I furrowed my brows at her. Well, I didn't really think a guy like Mason would have a weak spot. But I guess everyone has one.
"What did you tell him?" I asked. Her smirk grew.
"Well, now that I think about it, I threatened and bribed him at the same time but I'll tell you later." She stated. I raised a brow at her in confusion.
"No, tell me now," I said. She shook her head and gave me a smile.
"Oh would you look at that, Ryder came out of the bathroom. I need to go do my business," she said and immediately got up and walked towards the bathroom. I glared at her back. I had a feeling whatever she told Mason I wasn't going to like it one bit. I groaned and laid my head against my seat.
Ryder came back and sat in his seat. He looked at me and winked. I rolled my eyes at him and kicked the back of his seat with my feet.
"Hey, easy on the chair." He said as his voice was laced with amusement.
"Don't worry, you sitting on the chair will damage it enough," I told him. He laughed then shook his head.
"It's not like I'm fat," he exclaimed. "Besides, you love my body."
I rolled my eyes again.
"Yeah, I love it to the point I would die for it," I said sarcastically.
"I always knew you couldn't resist me," he claimed with a smirk on his face.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night," I muttered as he winked at me again.
"Do you really want to know what would help me sleep at night?" He asked. I mentally gagged and shook my head.
"Please spare me from your dirty mind," I said and looked away. I heard him chuckle again as I stared outside the window and stayed like that until the jet landed.

Adam eventually woke up and we exited the jet and we were met with a huge mansion surrounded by trees. It was really beautiful and words couldn't describe the feeling I had when I laid eyes on the beautiful nature that surrounded us.
We carried our bags as we slowly walked towards the mansion. I couldn't believe that Lina and Mason owned a large part of this land. But it's not that surprising when you actually think about it. Mason is the alpha.
As we walked into the mansion Lina faced us.
"Ok, everyone go pick a room, unpack your bags and we'll decide on what to do later," she stated. We all nodded our heads and started walking around the place. I walked up the stairs and picked a room. I placed my bags on the ground and started hanging my clothes in the closet. I don't know how long we'll be staying here but I got enough clothes to last me a week or two.
After a while, I was done and decided to look around the room. The room had a bathroom and a balcony, it wasn't big but I liked it. There was a big bed that could fit two people. Lina mentioned that every room has that kind of bed. I walked towards the balcony and opened the door. As I stepped on the balcony I heard the others outside.
I looked down and saw everyone else walking out of the mansion. Adam looked up at me and smiled.
"Tiana, come down here. We're going to shift and run for a bit," he stated. I smiled and nodded my head. I ran out of the room and down the stairs. I ran outside and was greeted by the others.
"We're going to run around our land, don't go outside the borders because a couple of miles from here is a small city. We don't want to frighten them," Lina said looking at us. Right at that moment, I decided to do something else.
"You guys run, I'm going to let my wings spread for a while and fly," I said. It's been a while since I last flew. Just like how my wolf needs to have control at times and run around my wings need to spread out even though I can't fly for long periods of time. I can go a long time without flying and that's because I'm an only half-angel. If I was a full angel I would have to fly a lot just like how my wolf needs to run a lot.
"Fly? What are you? A bird?" Ryder joked. I then remembered that Tyler and Ryder still didn't know about me being a hybrid.
"No, she's a hybrid," Adam answered his question. Ryder and Tyler's eyes widened as Adam's words left his mouth.
"What? Really?" Tyler asked. Lina smiled and nodded her head.
"Yes, I even saw her wings before. They're small and so cute," Lina gushed.
"So you're saying you're half-angel?" Ryder asked. I smiled and nodded my head.
"Yes."
"That's so cool, I've never met an angel in real life. They are really rare, especially a hybrid one," Tyler said astonished.
"Yeah they are, I guess it was by luck that the genes were passed down to me from my mothers side," I said.
"What can you do? I heard that every angel has their own powers," Ryder asked.
"I can do three things but since I'm a hybrid everything has its limits. I can fly, obviously. Heal injuries and turn invisible along with another person." I stated. Ryder and Tyler started telling me how cool I was. I rolled my eyes as we started walking towards the trees.
"Well, we are going to shift. We will be running underneath you." Lina said. I nodded my head and they all went behind trees and shifted while I let my small wings appear. They soon came out from behind the tree and stared at my wings. I smiled before lifting my feet off the ground and flew.
They were running behind me as I looked around the island. I was able to see the sea and it was beautiful. From the distance, I saw lights and I guess that was the city Lina talked about. I lowered myself so no one would see me and continued to fly.
After half an hour my wings gave out and I landed back on the ground. Ryder, Tyler, Adam, and Lina shifted back to their human forms and walked up to me.
"I'm tired, let's head back to the mansion," Lina said. We all agreed with her and walked towards the mansion.
"So, what else are we going to do today?" Adam asked. Lina smiled as she looked at the time when we entered the mansion.
"I was thinking about looking around the city tonight. I heard that the lights are really pretty at night and we could go to a club or something." She replied.
"That sounds great," I told her.
"Yeah, it does. When will we go?" Tyler asked.
"After a couple of hours, I need to rest from all the running." She answered. Tyler nodded his head as I excused myself to my room.
I applied a coat of mascara and lipstick then backed away and looked myself in the mirror. I was wearing a simple dress as my hair fell down loosely. I wore heels and ran my hand through my hair as I opened the door and walked downstairs. Adam smiled at me when he made eye contact with me and gave me a hug.
"Beautiful as always," he told me. I smiled at him as a thank you.
"Where's Lina?" I asked.
"She's in a car with Ryder and Tyler," Adam replied.
I nodded my head as we started walking out of the mansion. As we stepped foot outside we saw Lina, Tyler, and Ryder in a car. Adam and I walked towards the car and got in the back.
"You ready guys?" Lina asked as she started the car. We all answered yes then we drove off. I stared out the window as the car moved. This was one small island but that city did not disappoint me at all. Lina was right, the lights were really pretty and there weren't many buildings since it was small but there were lots of cars and lights everywhere.
After awhile Lina finally stopped the car and looked back at us.
"We're here!" She exclaimed.
"Where are we?" Adam asked looking around.
"We're in front of a club. I thought it would be nice to stop here and have some fun," she answered. We all smiled and agreed as we exited the car. There were people coming out of the club and going in. I wouldn't really expect a club to be on an island like this but I guess I was wrong.
As we entered the club the loud music hit my ears and the smell of alcohol hit my nostrils. I cringed when I saw two bodies literally on top of each other. I immediately looked away and Adam placed his hand behind my back. We got lots of stares from people as we walked inside the club.
"You guys stay here while I go get some drinks," Adam yelled through the loud music. We nodded our heads and sat down on a spare table. It didn't take long for Tyler and Ryder to pull in women as they pulled them towards the dance floor and started dancing with them. Lina sat next to me as we talked about random things through the music.
"I have to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back." She told me after a while of talking. I nodded my head and she walked away as I started to look around for Adam. I didn't want to be left alone as I felt lots of stares burning right through my back. I stiffened when I felt someone place his hand on my waist. I turned around to be greeted by a man who was staring at me like I was his lunch.
I moved his hand off my waist as he spoke.
"Hey, beautiful." He said.
"Don't hey me," I said clearly annoyed. I mean, how come every time a girl goes to a bar or a club a guy has to hit on her? I mean it's expected. "Shoo, leave me alone," I said and turned around. The guy placed his hand on my waist again and pulled me closer to him this time.
I huffed out in annoyance and was about to use my werewolf strength to push him away when a deep familiar voice spoke out which made me immediately turn to the source of the voice and my eyes widened in shock.
"Step away from her before I bury you alive."
