Chapter 19

I groaned in frustration when a felt someone constantly poke the side of my face as I tried to have a peaceful sleep, which might I add, I didn't have one in a long time. I growled and hoped that whoever was signing their death wish would stop and leave before I strangle their throat and not feel single remorse.

But of course, the stupid person didn't stop and instead chuckled. I growled again but louder this time when I smelt the familiar scent and knew that this wasn't the first time this person tried to disturb my slumber. I moved my head and groaned again.

"Adam, I swear if you touch my face one more time you will regret ever being born!" I threatened. He chuckled again and when I didn't feel his finger on my cheek I sighed and relaxed as I tried to fall back asleep. But the second I let my guard down his finger touched my check rather roughly than the other times.

I snapped my eyes open and growled as I looked up to an amused Adam holding in his laughter.

"You bastard," I growled as I quickly sat up and launched myself at him. He burst into laughter as I hit him in his chest as hard as I can but that only lead to me being held upside down as he threw me on my bed.

"How many times do I have to tell you to never wake me up?" I hissed as I sat up and glared at him. He smirked and shrugged his shoulders.

"You can't blame me that you're so obsessed with your beauty sleep," he told me. I raised a brow at him and elbowed him in his stomach.

"Beauty sleep? I haven't been getting this 'beauty sleep' for a while now." I said as I continued to glare at him.

"And why is that?" He asked. I averted my eyes away from him and thought about last week. So far a week has passed since Lina's birthday and I haven't seen Mason much. It's like he's giving me the silent treatment, not like I care though. But ever since then whenever I see him he looks away and turns away and walks off. Lina said that this whole week he hasn't gotten out of his office much and that he's not socializing with people as much.

This whole week I have been thinking about him and that kiss. No matter what I do I can't stop thinking about it and that has caused me to lose some sleep which gets me so frustrated. I didn't want to think about it but it's so damn hard. I don't know if him staying away from me is better or worse.

I looked back at Adam as he raised a brow.

"It's nothing really, just some stuff that has been bothering me," I replied. He slowly nodded his head but soon smiled.

"Why do you even bother waking me up?" I asked as I laid back down on my bed.

"Come on, Tiana. We haven't seen each other for a while now because of my training. Don't you want to spend time with your favorite man?" He asked while pouting. I smiled and lightly smacked him in the face to wipe that pout. It's kind of true, Adam and I haven't gotten much time to spend time with each other because of his training. He also seemed in better shape than last time when I saw him. He seemed a bit off. I don't know the reason why. Maybe it was because of his training. But I was thankful that he was his normal self now.

"Favorite man? Please, you're my least favorite man." I teased. He rubbed his check and pouted again.

"Ouch, you hurt me physically and emotionally." He told me. I rolled my eyes as I sat up once again.

"What do you want to do?" I asked as I got up and walked towards my closet.

"We can go to a park and walk around. Relax for a bit." He suggested. I smiled and nodded my head. That sounded like a good idea. Maybe that could take my mind off of things.

"That sounds good, you wait outside as I get ready," I said as I grabbed a towel and walked towards the bathroom. He nodded his head and walked out of my room as I walked inside the bathroom. I took my clothes off and took a quick shower then wore my clothes. I brushed my teeth and dried my hair before letting it fall down freely. I wore some sandals and looked at myself in the mirror then opened my bedroom door.

I caught a scent that threw me over the edge and looked to my right to see Mason and Adam standing directly in front of each other glaring at one another. They turned their heads towards me and Mason looked back at Adam and narrowed his eyes at him before speaking.

"I don't want to repeat myself." And with that, he immediately turned away and walked off before I could say anything. I looked at Adam to see he was glaring at his back as he walked off and out of our sight.

Adam averted his eyes towards me as I looked at him in confusion.

"What happened?" I asked. He took a deep breath and shook his head.

"Nothing happened," he replied. I raised my brow at him and crossed my arms against my chest.

"Well, it didn't look like it," I said. He sighed and shook his head again.

"Please let it go, it wasn't anything important." He told me. I sighed and nodded my head.

"Ok, let's go get some breakfast first," I said as I started to walk. He followed me and I couldn't help looking at him. I wonder what all that was about.

I shrugged it off. We soon made it to the dining table as food started to be served. We sat down and started to eat. After a while, we were done and walked out and into the living room. I looked back when I heard my name being called.

"Tiana!" Lina said excitedly as she ran up to me. I gave her a questioning look as she caught her breath.

"I got awesome news." She exclaimed.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Mason and I own this piece of land on an island where we own a mansion. We haven't been there since we were kids because of certain circumstances but I decided we should go there to have a little vacation. Doesn't that sound fun?" She asked with excitement in her eyes.

I smiled and looked at Adam and he smiled as well.

"That sounds great, where is this island?" I asked.

"It's a small island not too far from the borders. It's called Woodsgreen island. It only takes an hour or two on a plane. My parents owned it but it soon became ours. There is a small city on the island where we can explore." She answered.

"When do we go?" I asked. Her smile grew as she spoke.

"Now," she replied. My eyes widened.

"Don't we need to book a flight first?" I asked. She shook her head as she gave me a pointed look.

"No, we'll just go on our private jet." She told me. I nodded my head and rolled my eyes. Of course, they have a private jet. But I found this really interesting. Maybe it will take my mind off of Mason.

"Who's coming?" I questioned.

"I'm bringing Tyler and Ryder. You can bring Adam if you want." She replied. Before I could say anything Adam spoke.

"Oh I'm coming all right, right Tiana?" Adam asked. I chuckled and shook my head.

"Nope, I don't want him to come," I said in a teasing tone. Lina smirked as she played along and Adam gasped.

"What? Why?" He asked.

"Because you're annoying," I smirked at him. "And because you woke me up."

"Very well. Adam won't come," Lina spoke. Adam's eyes widened and he looked at me with a pouty face.

"Oh come on, I swear I won't do it again." He begged.

"You promise?" I asked looking up at him. He immediately nodded his head.

"Yes, I promise." I smiled and looked at Lina.

"Yes, he's coming. Do you need to take permission first?" I asked.

She nodded her head and was about to speak before someone else did.

"Permission for what?" Mason asked as he entered the living room. All heads turned to him as Lina smiled at him

"Oh brother," she said as she walked towards him. "My lovely brother." Mason narrowed his eyes at her and crossed his arms against his chest.

"What is it now?" He asked. Lina gave him a smile and told him about the trip. He stood quiet before looking at me.

"No," he spoke. Lina rolled her eyes and grabbed his ear and pulled him towards the corner and started whispering in his ear. I found that sight rather funny. He growled lowly and ran a hand through his hair.

"Fine, but I'm coming." My eyes widened. I didn't want him to come. I know it sounds rude but one of the reasons why I want to go is to stay away from him.

Lina shook her head and whispered some other stuff in his ear. He gave her a defeated look and sighed.

"Very well," he said lowly. "How long are you going to stay?"

"As long as we want," she replied. He sighed in frustration but nodded his head as he looked towards me.

"I'll go make the arrangements for the private jet," he muttered before walking off but before glancing at me. Lina walked up to us with a satisfied smile on her face. I raised a brow at her.

"How did you do that?" I asked.

"I threatened him," she replied. I nodded my head with a smile on my face.

"I'm going to go pack," I said.

"Yeah, me too," Adam told us. We nodded our heads as we walked off. I ran into my room and grabbed a bag. I packed shorts, shirts, dresses, swimsuits and underwear and bras. I placed some other stuff in the bag and after an hour of packing, I was finished.

I sat on my bed and thought of Mason. I was relieved that he wasn't coming but somehow I felt a little disappointed. I sighed and grabbed my bag and walked out of my room. I shouldn't be. This vacation is a perfect opportunity for me to stop thinking about this mate thing. It made me so confused.

I walked downstairs and saw Tyler and Ryder talking. I placed my bag next to theirs and looked up at them.

"Hey guys," I greeted them.

They greeted me back with hugs. They were talking about how much fun we were going to have and how it's going to be amazing. After awhile Lina and Adam came down with their bags.

"Come on guys, there is a car which is going to take us to the private jet," Lina said. We nodded our heads as Lina and the rest of us walked out of the packhouse. We placed our bags in the back and got inside the car.

After an hour or so we made it to a place which looked like a small airport. There was this jet not too far away from us. Lina smiled and pointed at it.

"That's our jet, let's go." She said excitedly. We got out of the car and walked towards it. This was my first time going on a jet and I was really excited. There was these stairs that lead us inside the jet. I looked around and was amazed by the beauty. This was awesome.

We took our seats and Adam sat next to me as I sat next to the window. Lina, Tyler and Ryder sat directly in front of us. I looked out the window as the jet started to set off the ground and I couldn't help but think of one certain person.

And that person was Mason.
