Chapter 15

I pulled my hand out from his grasp and backed away. His eyes turned a shade of dark as he sat up.

"What are you doing here?" He asked roughly. I backed away some more and played with my fingers.

"I came here to give you your sheets for your bed," I replied. All I wanted to do at the moment was dig a deep hole in the ground and jump in it and never come out. His stare turned over to the sheets then back at me. He got up and walked towards me which only made me back away some more.

He stood in front of me looking at me with hard eyes. Silence filled the room and all that was happening was some kind of staring contest, that's what it looked like to me. He stepped forward as I stepped backward, this is what happens when I'm nice. Get into trouble and don't know how to get out of it.

He continued to stare and I didn't want to say something so he wouldn't get angry or ask why I was touching his hair because I don't even know the answer myself. His eyes turned darker and he turned his face and looked somewhere else as he spoke.

"Get out," he said.

I was taken back and raised a brow.

"What?" I asked. He looked over at me and growled lowly.

"I said get out," he stated. I nodded my head and walked towards the door. I grabbed the handle but looked back to find him watching me intensely. I snapped my head back to the door and opened it and walked out as fast as I can. I walked back to my room and jumped on my bed.

I repeatedly hit my head against my pillow and screamed against it. I kept muttering how stupid I was because that somehow solves the problem.

I breathed in and sighed. I slowly closed my eyes and my breathing evened out as I fell into a deep sleep.

I placed my toys on the ground when I heard my mom call. I got up from the ground and opened my bedroom door and ran down to the living room. I saw my mom and dad sitting next to each other with Adam by them. I walked up to them and smiled at Adam.

"Yes, mommy?" I asked. My mother smiled at me and kissed my cheek.

"Adam's parents are out on a vacation so he will be sleeping in your room until they come back," my mom said. I looked at Adam and he was grinning at me. I nodded my head and looked at my mother.

"Good, now you two go on and play," my mom said. Adam and I ran up to my room and sat on the ground where the toys were at.

"Wow, you got new toys?" Adam asked with a huge smile on his face as he looked at my toys. I smiled and nodded my head.

"Yeah, mommy bought me new toys last week and what I like the most is the toy truck she bought me," I said as I showed him the truck. His smile grew and he scooted closer to me.

"You know why I like you? Because you're not like the other girls, you prefer cars and trucks and not Barbies," he said gagging slightly when he said Barbies. I nodded my head at him.

"I don't like Barbies," I said.

He nodded his head and looked at the truck I was holding.

"Give me it, I want to play with it." He said. I frowned and shook my head.

"No, I want to play with it. Play with something else." I told him.

"But I want to play with that," he said pointing at the truck. I shook my head at him again.

"Come on, Tiana. Share." He whined. I hugged the truck and shook my head for the third time.

"No, I don't want to share the truck," I pouted. He sighed and scooted closer to me.

"But you have to share with your mate," he said. I raised a brow at him in confusion.

"You mean a friend?" I asked. He smiled and shook his head.

"You don't know what a mate is?" He asked. I nodded my head at him.

"I do, it means friend," I replied. He shook his head again and smiled.

"No, a mate means someone you love and live together for the rest of your life." He said. I thought about it then nodded my head.

"You mean like a mommy and a daddy?" I asked. He smiled and nodded his head.

"How do you know this?" I asked.

"My mommy told me," he answered.

"So your mommy and daddy are mates?" I asked. He nodded his head.

"Do you want to be my mate because I want to be yours?" Adam asked. I frowned and got up from the ground.

"Let me ask mommy first," I said as I opened the door and ran downstairs as Adam was behind me. I accidentally bumped into someone and looked up to see the alpha. He smiled at me and patted my head.

"Easy there," he said.

"Sorry Alpha," I said with a smile.

"It's ok kiddo, just be careful where you run," he said. I nodded my head and ran to where my mom was. I saw my mom in the kitchen helping the cook with something. She looked down at me and smiled.

"Mommy?" I asked.

"Yes, sweetheart?" She kneeled down.

"Adam asked me to be his mate, could I be his mate?" I asked. My mom chuckled and pinched my cheek.

"Honey, you don't choose who your mate is. Fate decides who you get to spend the rest of your life with," she replied. I thought about it and nodded my head.

"Are you and daddy mates?" I asked. She nodded her head.

"Yes we are," she answered.

"Will I have a mate?" I asked. She nodded her head.

"Honey, everyone has a mate."

I opened my eyes and sat up. I looked over at the window and saw it was dark outside. I sighed and stood up and walked into the bathroom. That dream I had was a memory of when I was small. I don't know why I had it, I shrugged it off and washed my face before fixing my hair and walking out of the room.

It wasn't that late at night so there were people awake and walking around the packhouse. I really got to stop the naps I'm taking in the middle of the days because it's really messing up my sleeping schedule.

I walked down the stairs and into the living room. I saw Lina with Tyler, Ryder, and some other people who I forgot their names sitting on the couches smiling and talking. Lina raised her head up and waved at me telling me to come over there.

I smiled at her and walked up to them. They all looked at me and smiled, especially Ryder.

"Hey, guys," I said waving my hand. They greeted me and I looked at Lina.

"Sit down," Lina sat patting the seat next to her. I nodded my head and sat next to her.

"So, what are you guys talking about?" I asked. Lina smiled and shrugged.

"We were discussing the party we are planning on next week for Lina's birthday," Ryder replied. I looked at Lina and she shrugged her shoulders again.

"It's your birthday next week?" I asked her. She smiled a small smile and nodded her head.

"Yes," she answered.

"That's awesome," I said as I looked at the rest. "I would like to help with the party," I told them. Lina frowned a bit and faced the others.

"Guys, I told you that I don't really need a party." She stated. I raised a brow at her and the others shook their heads.

"We are making you a party whether you like it or not," Ryder claimed. I smiled at that and nodded my head.

"Ryder is right, why don't you want a birthday party anyway? It comes only once a year," I told her. Ryder smirked at me while Lina sighed.

"Because it's nothing really special, it's just a day that I was born on, not a big deal." She muttered. They shook their heads again and Lina sighed out again.

"Lina, it's the day you were born, of course, it's a special day," I told her. She nodded her heads at me and looked at the rest.

"Fine, we'll do a party but I don't want one like last year where you guys took me out to a club and got me wasted to the part I was talking to a pole," she told us. Everyone laughed as she crossed her arms against her chest.

"Fine, how about we do it here in the packhouse?" Tyler suggested. Lina smiled and nodded her head.

"Yeah, that sounds good," Lina confirmed.

"Great, we'll talk about this later on but now I need to hit the hay," Ryder said as he got up and winked at me. I rolled my eyes at him and all the others stood up as well.

"Yeah, I need to sleep. Tiana, are you coming?" Lina asked. I shook my head at her as I got up.

"No, I'm just going stay awake for a while," I replied. She nodded her head and waved at me before walking off. I looked out of the window and decided to walk around outside for a bit to relax my mind off of everything. I opened the front door and closed my eyes as the cold breeze hit my face. I breathed in and walked out and observed the dark sky.

I continued to walk around the packhouse and there were a couple of people who were outside too so I wasn't alone. I gasped out in shock when I felt someone place their hand on my shoulder. I immediately turned around and sighed out in relief when I saw it was only Adam. He looked at me with a smile and I punched him slightly on the arm and smiled.

"Ow, what was that for?" He asked. I raised a brow as I continued to walk with him by my side.

"That's for startling me," I said. He chuckled and shook his head.

"What are you doing out here?" He asked. I looked at him and shrugged my shoulders.

"Just walking," I answered. He nodded his head at me, "me too." He told me with a small smile.

We continued to walk and talk for a while. By now there weren't many people outside. Adam kept making silly jokes that weren't even funny but I kept laughing anyway because that's what made it funny.

"Can you ever tell a joke that's even funny?" I asked. He looked at me and smiled.

"They are funny, Tiana." He said. I raised a brow at him and shook my head.

"No, they aren't, you come up with the weirdest jokes ever," I stated. He smiled and shrugged his shoulders.

"Well darling, these weird jokes make you laugh so they are considered funny." He claimed. I shook my head at him and patted his back.

"Fine, I'll let you think that if it helps you sleep at night," I told him. He pouted his lips but they soon turned into a smile.

"But you still love them," he said. I placed my finger under my chin and pretend to think about it. I looked at him and gave him a small smile as I nodded my head.

"Ok, maybe I do like them a little," I said. He smiled at me and nodded his head.

"Good, because I don't think I'll ever find anyone who will ever like my jokes." He stated. I shrugged my shoulders and patted his shoulder.

"You will, one day," I said. He looked down at the ground but soon snapped his head up when we saw a car parking outside of the packhouse. Familiar teenage boys got out of the car and it looked like from their state that they were drunk. They were laughing and walking like a drunk person.

"Damn, that was a good party." One of the boys said. They all nodded their heads. I immediately saw Kyle was among that group. I mentally gagged as he saw me and winked at me. The rest of the boys were talking about the party they were at as they walked into the packhouse. Kyle was the only one that didn't enter the packhouse and instead walked towards us.

I looked at Adam and he gave me a confused look but I shook my head at him and looked back to see Kyle trying to stay standing on his feet as he walked up to us.

"Hey, babe." He said. I cringed and stepped backward.

"Don't call me that," I said as I crossed my arms against my chest. He smirked at me and stepped forward.

"Why? Does it bother you, babe?" He asked. I growled lowly and Adam stepped up while glaring at him.

"You heard her. Get out of here," Adam growled. Kyle raised a brow and stepped closer to him.

"Get out of here? You don't tell me what to do, I can do whatever I want and that includes talking to her," he said and looked at me.

"Well, I don't want you talking to me," I said.

"Babe, no one can resist me." He said and winked at me. Adam and I growled together and Adam grabbed him by his shirt and glared at him.

"I don't want to see you talking with her," he growled. Kyle furrowed his brows and took Adam's hands off of him.

"It's none of your damn business," Kyle growled. Adam pushed him slightly and growled again.

"It is my business when it comes to her," he said. Kyle growled again and pushed him by the chest. I stepped up to prevent something bad from happening but that only made Adam push me softly aside.

"You're dealing with the wrong guy," Kyle said. Adam raised a brow and scoffed.

"Oh really? A guy that's immature and goes hitting on any random girl?" Adam asked. Kyle's eyes turned dark as he stepped further and punched Adam right on the face. A gasp made its way out of my mouth as my eyes widened. Adam immediately got up and punched him in the face as well. I repeatedly told them to stop but of course, they didn't listen.

They continued to hit each other as I stood there and didn't know what to do, it was obviously a bad idea if I stepped in.

"Kyle, Adam. Stop!" I yelled but they continued at it. Adam fell to the ground as Kyle punched him. I decided that standing there wasn't going to benefit anything so I looked around to see if anyone could help but couldn't find anyone. I was about to shift into my wolf to stop them when I heard a loud hard voice yelling at us to stop this instant.

Adam and Kyle stopped as they looked over to the source of the sound. I turned my head and my eyes widened as I saw someone walking out the front door and looking at us with hard eyes. I immediately knew who it was from the familiar voice and scent.

We stood there shocked as Alpha Mason walked towards us with a dangerous glint in his eyes. And that wasn't something good.
