Chapter 10

I calmly sat down on the grass and watched the children play and people walk by. It currently has been two weeks since the ceremony and ever since then, I haven't seen Alpha Mason much and I was thankful for that. Whenever I see him things just turn complicated. I sighed and placed my chin on my knee and closed my eyes.

This was relaxing, being outside of the packhouse and sitting down on the grass without being disturbed. If I stayed in this position then I might fall asleep. I slowly opened my eyes when I saw the children that were playing outside were getting closer to me. It looked like they were playing hide and seek. I smiled softly, my favorite game. What? I'm still a kid at heart.

I furrowed my brows a bit when I saw a little girl standing out of the crowd with a frown on her face. The rest of the kids were in a circle and laughing while the girl stood outside and stared at them.

"Can I please play with you guys?" The girl asked. All of the kids looked at her and laughed. I frowned at them and slowly got up.

"You want to play with us?" A boy asked. The girl nodded her head and the children laughed again.

"We don't play with losers," a girl from the group said. The little girl looked like she was on the verge of tears.

"I'm not a loser," she told them. The same boy walked up to her and that's when I started walking towards them.

"Yes you are." He stated. I walked up to them and that's when all of them looked towards me.

"Why can't she play with you guys?" I asked. The girl looked up at me but then placed her head down.

"Because we don't want her to," a girl said in an annoyed tone. I furrowed my brows at them. Kids are the meanest creatures on earth. Trust me, I know.

Besides, who would want to be friends with them? Don't get me wrong, but they are just rude. I looked at the girl and looked back at the group.

"If you don't want to play with her then I'll just play with her," I told them. All of the kids faces turned into a disgusted expression before one of the boys spoke.

"Go ahead. But we don't want to play with her, come on guys, let's go." He said and they all turned around and started running off. I stood there and slowly turned my head to the girl, she was looking down and I sighed. I got on my knee and she looked at me.

"Don't listen to them, you're not a loser. Besides, you don't want to be friends with mean people." I told her. She pouted her lip but nodded her head.

"Then who will I play with?" She asked. I smiled at her and grabbed her hand.

"Me," I told her. She looked at me and tilted her head.

"But you're too big to play," she said. I shook my head at her.

"You're never too big to play," I told her. Her eyes lit up and she smiled a toothy grin.

"Does that mean when I grow up and become old and wrinkly I can still play?" She asked. I raised a brow at her and slowly nodded my head. Her smile grew and she laughed in excitement.

"What's your name?" I asked her. Her smile fell and she looked at me hesitantly and that only made me furrow my brows slightly in curiosity.

"You want to know my name?" She asked. I slowly nodded my head at her.

"Why wouldn't I?" I asked her. She shrugged her shoulders at me and started to play with her fingers.

"Nobody ever wants to know my name," she answered. I frowned and didn't know what to say.

"Well I do, so what's your name?" I asked her again. She smiled this time and raised her hand towards me.

"I'm Lily, what's your name?" She asked. I took her hand in mine and smiled at her.

"My name's Tiana," I replied.

"I like your name," she said. My smile grew and I let go of her hand. "And I like yours too."

"So what were those kids playing?" I asked her. She frowned and pouted her lip again. That sight was so cute and sad at the same time, I mean, why would someone not want to play with a girl like her? She's cute and funny. Well, sucks for them.

"Hide and seek," she answered. I nodded my head and got off of my knee and stood up as she looked up at me.

"Ok then, let's play that," I told her. She smiled and nodded her head excitingly.

For about an hour we played and took turns. It was actually really fun and it brought back so many memories of when I was small. She was so happy and energetic. We soon decided that it was enough for the time being and she had to go back to her parents. She ran back towards the packhouse but stopped and turned around and waved at me. I smiled at her and waved back until she turned around and ran off.

I started walking towards the packhouse but stopped when I felt someone staring at me. I know it sounds stupid but I really felt someone staring at me. I looked around but couldn't find anyone until I looked towards the packhouse and saw someone on the third floor looking at me from a window. I immediately knew who it was when my wolf started yelping.

Alpha Mason and I made eye contact and he just stood there watching me. How long was he there? I don't really know but after a couple of seconds of just staring at each other he finally stepped back and closed the curtains so I wasn't able to see him anymore. A shiver ran down my spine and I couldn't get his hard eyes out of my mind. I shook my head and started walking towards the packhouse.

Once I made it towards the packhouse I looked at the clock and saw that it was 5 PM. By now Adam would be done with training so I decided to see where he was.

"Adam?" I said through the pack link. After a while, he answered.

"Yes? Is there something wrong?" He asked.

"No, nothing's wrong. Where are you?" I questioned.

"Why? You miss me already?" He teased. I groaned and rolled my eyes.

"No, I just want to come over to you so I could slap the living daylights out of you," I told him sarcastically.

"Oh, Tiana! I think that's the sweetest thing you ever said to me," he also said sarcastically. I shook my head and chuckled to myself.

"So?" I asked.

"I'm behind the packhouse with a couple of friends." He stated.

"Ok, I'm coming," I told him and cut the connection between us. I walked towards the back door and opened it. There were a couple of people behind the packhouse but not much. I saw Adam with a group of guys and walked up to them. Once I was near them Adam looked at me and smiled making all the other guys look in my direction.

Some of them looked at me normally and some had confusion written on their faces. I ignored them and walked up to Adam and gave him a hug.

"Hey," he said.

"Hi." A guy from the group went over to Adam and poked his arm with his elbow which made him look at the guy with an eyebrow raised.

"Who's she?" The guy asked and stared at me. Adam put an arm around my shoulder and smiled.

"This is the one and only, Tiana." He stated. All of them smiled at me and I smiled back.

"You're Tiana? Well, no wonder Adam always talks about you." A boy said. I raised a brow at him and Adam stiffened next to me and scowled at the guy.

"Alex." He said sternly. Alex looked at Adam and grinned.

"What does he usually say about me?" I asked. Alex looked over at me and his grin grew but soon looked over at Adam and spoke.

"Nothing much, just how you're a good friend." He said. I had a feeling that he wasn't exactly telling the truth but decided not to push on it.

"So you guys are pack warriors?" I asked. They smiled at me and nodded.

"Pack warriors in training," one guy said. I nodded my head and Adam looked at me.

"Well, we're going to the city to get a few stuff. Would you like to come?" Adam asked. I shook my head at him.

"No, you guys go. I just wanted to say hi. Besides, I'm going to go see where Lina is," I told him. He smiled slightly and nodded his head.

"Ok, I'll see you later." He waved and walked away with the others. I walked back into the packhouse and decided to go and relax in my room before finding Lina. I headed towards my room and opened the door and closed it before jumping on my bed. I yawned and closed my eyes but as usual, I ended up falling asleep.

I opened my eyes and groaned when I realized I had just fallen asleep. I looked over at the clock that was in my room and saw it was 8 PM. I slept for three hours. I groaned again when I felt my neck was sore. I sat up but snapped my head towards the door when someone opened it. I sighed when Lina came in with a smile.

"Does it kill you to knock?" I asked. She chuckled and shook her head.

"My friends and I decided to let our wolves run for a bit. I want you to come with us." She said. My wolf started to jump in excitement at the thought of us running through the woods. I smiled slightly and nodded my head.

"Sure, I'd love to come," I told her and got up. I walked into the bathroom and fixed my hair and splashed water on my face before walking back to Lina. We walked out of my room talking casually until we were outside. When we were outside I saw the same group I saw weeks ago when we first came here. Once Ryder saw me he gave me a smirk and I just rolled my eyes at him.

"Hey guys, remember Tiana?" Lina asked. All of them offered me a smile and nodded their heads.

"Who could ever forget a pretty face like that?" Ryder questioned. Lina rolled her eyes at him and punched his arm.

"Ow. What was that for?" He asked and glared at her.

"It's for being immature," she told him. He sighed and Lina looked at the others, "come on guys. Let's go." she said. We started walking towards the woods as Ryder kept complaining on how Lina was violent. I silently chuckled and shook my head at him. Once we were deep into the woods we went behind separate trees and took our clothes off and shifted into our wolves. I came out and so did the rest. Compared to the rest, I was so small.

"Wow, your wolf is so small," Tyler told me through the pack link.

"I know, it's cute," Ryder said. Tyler's wolf was brown and Ryder's wolf was grey. I looked at Lina and her wolf was silver. We walked further into the woods and started running.

At first our pace was slow but after the time went by we were running really fast. We decided to split up and run in different directions. I ran through the branches and let the wind pass right through me. This felt so good. My wolf picked up her pace and started running very fast. If a human saw us they would have just seen a light brown blur pass them.

I slowed my pace until I was in front of a beautiful lake. I didn't know the pack had a lake. I walked up to it and saw my reflection. I lowered my head and drank the water and sat down next to it. I looked around the place and found it relaxing and quiet. I stayed there for a while, just listening to Mother Nature until I thought it was about time to go back before someone got worried about me.

I got up but stiffened when I heard a twig break. I snapped my head over to the source of the sound but found no one there. I walked closer but stopped when I heard a low growl. I growled back and whoever growled at me growled again. I sniffed the air to see if I might know this person but growled again when I realized this wolf was a rogue.

What is a rogue doing in the pack? I moved closer and as soon as I did that a grey wolf with red eyes emerged from the trees. The rogue growled at me again but this time louder. I took a step back as soon as he took a step forward. I growled as a warning but that only seemed to set him off because he jumped towards me.

I immediately moved away and growled louder. I wasn't really afraid of him. I could easily use my powers and get out of here without him knowing, but I was caught off guard when he jumped at me again. I moved away and bit into his leg. He let out a loud growl and shoved me aside.

I fell to the ground and hit my head on a big rock. I quickly shook my head and got up but I wasn't quick enough because the wolf jumped on me and bit into my side. I whimpered in pain and was about to bite back when the rogue was thrown off of me by another wolf.

I got up but stopped when I smelled a familiar scent. I turned my head towards a huge silver wolf biting into the neck of the rogue. But this wolf wasn't just any wolf, this wolf was Alpha Mason.
