Chapter 8
"What did she say?" I growled out lowly. I glanced at Lina and she was shooting daggers at Chloe and let me tell you, if looks can kill, then Chloe would be 10 feet underground.
"She's always like this," Lina growled in anger. I looked back at the scene in front of me and her hands were on Alpha Mason's shoulder and my wolf wanted to rip her hands off of her body.
Alpha Mason huffed out in annoyance and got up from the seat and faced her with his arms crossed against his chest.
"Don't call me that," he growled and his eyes turned darker. Chloe pouted teasingly and placed her hands on his chest. Oh no she did not do that, I felt my temper rise and I wished I could just rip her throat out.
"But baby-" Chloe was caught off when Alpha Mason growled out and the little people that were in the dining room turned their heads in fear.
"I told you to not call me that and if you annoy me one more time then I won't hesitate to kick you outside of my pack because I do not tolerate any behavior like this," he growled out. Lina and I had small smirks on our faces and they grew when we saw Chloe's face.
She was on the verge of tears but she had an annoyed face on. She soon looked to the ground and nodded her head.
"Get out of my sight," he growled at her. She nodded her head again and ran off with her minions behind her and right at that moment I wanted to laugh so hard.
Once she was out of sight Alpha Mason shook his head and turned in our direction. Alpha Mason and I made eye contact and when that happened his eyes turned back to normal for a moment but he soon turned around and stalked out of the dining table. I kept my eyes on him until he was completely out of sight and sighed.
I looked over to Lina and she had an annoyed face on.
"God how much I hate her, she always tries to hook up with my brother to get the Luna title. She can't get it in her head that he doesn't want her." She growled out in annoyance. At her words, my wolf calmed down and I knew so did I. I didn't want to admit it but I really wanted to snap her neck when she laid her hands on him, it's not like I wanted to feel that. It's all because of the mate bond.
I sighed and shook my head trying to forget those thoughts.
"She tries to?" I asked. Lina looked at me and nodded her head.
"Yeah, like ever since she shifted into her wolf. She wants the Luna title so badly, but luckily my brother is hard to get through. And we all know she will never be the Luna," she said while giving me a small smirk. I rolled my eyes and ignored the last part.
"I can see you don't like her, and let me tell you, neither do I." I chuckled. She giggled and nodded her head.
"I hate her and her minions," she said while cringing. I smiled a small smile and nodded my head at her in agreement. We continued to talk until everybody came down. When everybody sat down in their chairs we all started to eat. I noticed that Alpha Mason didn't come back and furrowed my brows in confusion.

Where is he?
I immediately shook my head and started to eat my food. Stop thinking about him. It's none of my business where he goes. I looked at Lina and she gave me a small smile before eating. I sighed and ate my food in silence but what got me on my nerves was lots of people were looking at me. Not surprised.
After I was done eating I got up from my chair and grabbed my plate.
"I'm going to put this in the kitchen then go back to my room," I told Lina. She nodded her head at me and continued to eat. I started walking towards the kitchen and out of the dining room doors. When I entered the large kitchen I noticed that I was the only one here.
I shrugged and went to the sink and cleaned my plate. I was humming to a tune when a voice behind me caught me off guard.
"Hey there."
I yelled in shock and placed my plate on the counter and turned around while putting my hand above my heart.
"You scared me," I said while catching my breath. He raised a brow and smirked.
"Oh did I?" He asked with a smug look. I rolled my eyes at him and started to walk away but he grabbed my hand and pulled me back.
"What are you doing?" I asked slightly annoyed. My wolf was whimpering in my head because she didn't like to be touched by another male.
He let go of my hand and put his hands in his pockets.
"So what do you say about the date?" Ryder asked. I sighed and rolled my eyes once again. I looked at him and all I wanted to do was wipe that smirk off of his face.
"No," I answered and turned around and started walking away.
"Why?" He asked while catching up with me.
"Because." And with that, I walked off and up the stairs towards my room. I entered my room and laid on the bed before closing my eyes. A moment passed and I was about to fall asleep when my bed bounced up and I felt someone lay next to me. I snapped my eyes open and sighed in relief when I saw it was only Adam.
He turned to me and smiled while I returned it.
"Finished training?" I asked. He nodded his head and sighed.
"Yes, finally."
I nodded my head slightly and raised a brow.
"Why are you here?" I asked. He made a fake gasp and pretend to be hurt.
"I can't just come to see my best friend?" He asked. I chuckled my head and tilted my head towards him.
"You could, it's just I still didn't forgive you for what you said this morning," I told him. He pouted his lip but soon smiled.
"Is Tiana still mad?" He cooed. I scrunched my nose at him while he laughed.
"Yes," I lied and scooted closer to him until he had no room left and fell to the ground.
"Ouch," he whined while looking up at me. I started laughing so hard while he had an annoyed face on.
"You always do this," he muttered while getting up from the ground. I continued to laugh while he just stood there with a pout on his lips.
"Stop laughing!" He grabbed a pillow from my bed and started to hit me with it but that only made my laughter increase.

"How does it feel to be attacked by a pillow now?" Adam exaggerated. I stopped laughing and grabbed the pillow from his hands and threw it on his face.
"You deserved it," I said while catching my breath. He ran a hand through his hair and crossed his arms against his chest.
"It's not my fault you're sensitive," he muttered. I furrowed my brows at him and got up from my bed.
"What did you say?" I asked slowly. He stiffened and smiled a nervous smile.
"Oh would you look at the time, I have to go." He said while looking at his hand, which by the way, had no watch on then rushed out my door. I sighed and shook my head with a small smile then sat back on my bed. I felt really tired and all I wanted to do was fall into a deep, deep sleep.
I laid down and stared at the ceiling thinking about life. I slowly closed my eyes and soon enough, I welcomed sleep with open arms.
"Wake up Tiana!" A voice said. I slowly opened my eyes to be greeted with Lina's eyes. She smiled at me and pulled the covers off of me.
"Come on, get up." She stated. I raised an eyebrow in confusion and looked at the clock. It was still early. Why is she waking me up? So far it has been a week since we stayed here and I hadn't seen Alpha Mason after that scene at the dinner table. The whispering stopped a bit but I still got stares.
"Why?" I asked. She placed her hand on her hip and sighed.
"Tomorrow is the ceremony that's going to be held for you and the other new members. It's known that all new female members have to wear white dresses so we're going shopping!" She said excitedly. I got up from the bed and looked at her.
"Is your brother even going to say yes?" I asked. She shrugged and smiled.
"He always says yes to me, so that's no problem." I slowly nodded my head and went to the closet.
"Ok, just wait outside so I can clean up," I said while grabbing my clothes. She nodded her head and walked outside. I walked inside my bathroom and stripped out of my clothes and went in the shower. I closed my eyes for a moment then opened them, this past few weeks my wolf has been whimpering. She wants to see her mate and I don't really know how to feel about that.
When I was done, I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my body. I wore my underwear and bra then put on a summer dress. I brushed my hair and let it fall down naturally and dried it with a hairdryer.
I walked outside of my bathroom and wore my shoes then walked outside of my room. Lina was outside waiting for me and when she saw me she smiled.
"Let's go eat breakfast then I'll go ask my brother," she said.
"What if he says no?" I asked. She looked at me and raised a brow.
"He won't say no." She said while we walked towards the kitchen. I sighed and followed her until we made it to the kitchen.
Anna was there making food and when she saw us she gave us a small smile.
"Hey Anna, mind making us something?" Lina asked. Anna smiled and shook her head.
"Of course not, I'm made eggs and pancakes. Just sit down and I'll give you some." She said. We nodded our heads and sat on the chairs.
Anna placed two plates in front of us and we thanked her before eating. Once we were done eating we got up and said goodbye to Anna and walked up the stairs.
"I'll go in and you stay outside, ok?" Lina said." I nodded my head and we stopped in front of a door that Lina soon opened. I caught Alpha Mason's scent and I'm sure he caught mine too. My wolf was begging for me to open the door and jump in his arms but I shut her off before she could do anything.
I couldn't exactly hear what was happening but I started to guess things weren't going right when their voices got louder.
I heard growls and complaints but soon the door opened and an angry Lina walked out and slammed the door. I winced from the sound and raised a brow.
"What happened?" I asked.
"He said no!" She whined.
"I thought you said he always says yes to you?" I told her. She huffed and ran a hand through her hair.
"Because he does, I don't know why he didn't agree this time." She stated. I nodded my head but she soon smiled and I looked at her in confusion.
"Come with me," she said while grabbing my hand and pulling me down the stairs.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"To the mall," she said in a duh tone. I furrowed my brows at her and stopped.
"But didn't your brother say no?" I asked.
She smiled and nodded her head.
"Yes he did, that's why we're going in secret." She whispered. My eyes widened and I slowly smiled.
"Great idea." She smiled back at me and we went towards the front door. It's a good thing no one was here at the moment.
"We will shift into our wolves and try to cross the territory without us getting caught." She said. I nodded my head and we opened the door and took off before anyone can see us. When we made it to the woods we went behind trees and striped and shifted into our wolves.
We ran for a while until we were almost near the borders. Lina tilted her head indicating we should shift back so we went behind trees again and shifted and wore our clothes. I walked towards Lina and she placed her finger on her mouth then she came up to me and frowned.
"There are lots of guards guarding the area, how will we cross now?" She asked with a sigh. I smiled at her and grabbed her hand.
"We will. Just don't make a sound." She looked at me in confusion but slowly nodded her head.
"How?" She asked.
"You'll see," I said then concentrated on my powers. I opened my eyes and saw Lina looking at me in shock. We were now invisible. I placed my finger on my mouth and we started walking towards the borders.
Lina's face held surprised and amazement. We walked until we crossed the borders then started running. After a while of running my powers wore off but we were nowhere near the borders.
"H-How did you do that?" She asked looking at me with wide eyes. I smiled at her and shrugged.
"It's in my genes," I answered.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I mean I'm a hybrid, half-werewolf, and half-angel. It was passed down to me from my mom's side." I told her. Her eyes were still widened and her mouth hanging open.
"You're a hybrid?" She asked while I just nodded my head at her.
"Yes."
"Why didn't you ever tell me?" She asked and I shrugged my shoulders at her.
"Because it never came up," I said. She slightly nodded her head but soon smiled.
"You'll tell me about that later, let's go." We walked and soon enough we made it to the city.
"Let's find you a dress fast before my brother finds out," she said. I nodded my head and we walked to a mall that was nearby. We entered it and walked to many stores but didn't find anything. We went from store to store but none of the dresses caught our attention.
About a couple of hours passed yet we didn't find anything. We decided to look at one more store so we entered a store and looked through the dresses.
"Oh my God. Tiana, try this one." Lina said excitedly. I looked at the dress and smiled. It was beautiful. It was a short dress that was tight up the waist but loose down the waist. I took it and entered the fitting room and wore it.
"You done?" Lina asked after awhile.
"Yes," I said then opened the door. Lina gasped and nodded her head.
"You're totally getting this one," she said. I agreed with her on that one. It looked good on me. It looked great!
I closed the door and wore my other dress and got out of the fitting room with the dress in my hands.
"Let's pay for it so we can go home fast," Lina said. I nodded my head and we went to the counter and paid for it then walked out of the store. We walked for a while until we reached the woods.
"We'll shift and before we make it to the borders we'll shift again," Lina told me.
"Ok," I said. We soon shifted and started running with our clothes and the bag in our mouths. After a moment of running we stopped and shifted back into our human forms and wore our clothes.
"Come on, before anyone noticed that we're gone," Lina said while holding my hand.
"Oh, we noticed." Said a familiar voice behind us. Our eyes widened and we turned around to find an angry Alpha Mason standing with guards by his side. I looked at Lina and she had a shocked face on and all I could think of was one thing.
We're in big trouble.
