Chapter 6
"What?" Adam growled, loudly.
I looked up at him and his eyes were black and his jaw was clenched. This was not a good sign at all.
"I'm his mate," I repeated but this time looking in his eyes. Adam growled again and closed his eyes for a moment before opening them and looking at me with his black eyes.
"You're his mate?" he asked saying the last part like it was poison in his mouth with a scowl on his face. I sighed and nodded.
"Damn it," he yelled and punched his fist on the closet. My eyes widened and I grabbed his hand and started rubbing it.
"Adam, please." I whispered, "it's not like I chose to be his mate." I told him. He sighed and calmed down but not completely and whispered some curse words in his mouth.
"I can't believe it," he muttered with a hint of anger. I sighed and made him sit on the bed then I sat next to him.
"All along, he knew you were his mate, yet he kept you in the dungeons." He growled out. He looked at me and his eyes started to turn black again. "What kind of mate does that?"
"Adam, you need to calm down. I know it complicated but just like he doesn't want me, I don't want him," I told him. My wolf was growling at me telling me to take that back. She thinks that he wants us and that I want him too and that I'm in denial.
Right, like I could ever want him.
"He doesn't want you? You're his mate for heaven's sake. Who doesn't want someone like you?" He asked with an angry tone.
"Well, he made it pretty clear when we met, and yesterday when he was about to kill us," I told him. Adam growled out and ran his hands through his face.
"And you don't want him?" He asked but this time he was calmer. I sighed and shook my head.
"You know I don't want that," I said softly. "Besides, even if I did want him, it wouldn't work out. He's cruel and evil and that isn't someone I would want." But deep down inside I wished that he wasn't like that, maybe it would make things less complicated.
"Yeah I know, he doesn't deserve you though. You deserve someone that won't hurt you," he said while looking away from me. I furrowed my brows at him and frowned.
"What do you mean?" I asked. He looked at me and sighed.
"I mean that there is someone that deserves you, it just needs time." I slowly nodded my head. So he's saying that there is someone out there that deserves me? And will be perfect for me? I wonder if that's true.
Adam looked away and my frown deepened.
"Adam?" I asked.
"Yeah?" He asked without looking at me.
"Is there something wrong? Do you think differently of me now?" I asked looking at him. He snapped his head towards me and immediately shook his head.
"No, Tiana, I would never," he said then grabbed my hands in his.
I sighed out in relief, I really didn't need him ignoring me because he is the only one I got.
"Then why are you not looking at me?" I asked. Adam looked hesitant and looked like he didn't want to answer the question.
"Uh..it's nothing really. It's just the news caught me off guard." He muttered. I raised a brow at him but slowly nodded. I don't know what's bothering him but I didn't want to push it further. The only thing that matters right now is that Adam's feelings towards me didn't change.

"Ok, so what do you think of this pack?" I asked trying to change the subject. Talking about my mate with my best friend is just weird and uncomfortable.
"It's ok, I wish we could go back to our old pack but that's impossible now so this pack will have to do even with the scary rumors," he answered. I completely agreed with him, this is way better than being rogues. But I felt unsettled about the other pack members. Are they cruel as everyone says? Will they accept us or reject us? I didn't have a slight clue on how we are going to survive in this pack.
"Do you think the rumors are true?" I asked him. He shrugged his shoulders furrowed his brows.
"I don't know, maybe they are but maybe they aren't. As far as I know, rumors are usually wrong. But that doesn't mean we should let our guards down," he answered. I smiled up at him and nodded.
"Yes, you're completely right." He smiled at me and placed an arm around my shoulder.
"We have to stick together, we only have each other," he said. My smile grew and I nodded my head again.
"Right again." He chuckled and got up from the bed and went back to the closet.
"Today is the first day of training so I need to get ready," he told me. I got up from the bed and walked towards the door.
"Ok. Besides, I need to see if anyone needs my help. I'll see you later," I said. He smiled and waved at me before looking back to the closet. I walked outside the door and walked down the hall. While I was walking I was looking around the place admiring the beauty of the packhouse.
It was surely bigger than our old one, I always thought that the packhouse for this pack would be dirty and dusty, with no lights and skeletons everywhere. Call me crazy but that's what I thought, but it turns out it's the complete opposite. It's fancy yet simple and that's what makes it beautiful.
I was interrupted with my thoughts when I bummed into someone making me fall to the floor, again!
What is with everybody bumping into me?
I immediately thought that it was that girl that bumped into me awhile ago but knew I was wrong when I felt my wolf move recklessly and smelt a familiar scent. I looked up and was greeted with dark eyes that looked at me like they could see my soul.
His face was emotionless but I saw a hint of anger in his eyes. He looked at me up and down but didn't bother helping me get up from the floor. Wow, what a great gentleman. Note the sarcasm.
When I was standing straight I looked at him and he growled deep down in his throat.
"Watch where you're going next time," he said in a low voice. I narrowed my eyes at him and furrowed my brows in anger.
Me? Watch where I was going? When he bumped into me!
"Me? You're the one who made me fall," I said while looking in his eyes. His eyes turned pitch black and he growled again. Ok, this is not a good sign. He slowly walked up to me and I moved backward. Every time he would take a step forward I would take a step backward.
This went until I was against the wall with no place to go. Curse you, wall! He came closer and placed his hands on my sides while looking at me with his angry eyes.

"Never ever talk to me like that, or I will have to show you your place," he said in a hard voice.
My wolf was really happy at how close we are but all I could feel was anger.
"You can't tell me what to do-" I was interrupted by his growl.
"I can because I'm you're alpha, and you will listen to what I say without arguing." He growled. I really just wanted to strangle him but we all knew what would be the outcome.
"You are not my alpha," I hissed back. I guess he didn't like that because he smashed his fist on the wall next to me which made me gasp.
"I will be in a matter of days and I will not tolerate any behavior like this. Do you understand?" He asked.
I sighed angrily and looked away from him but he grabbed my chin roughly which made tingles erupt from his touch and made me look at him.
"Do you understand?" He growled again. My wolf was nagging at me the whole time to be obedient but I disagreed with her. No way in hell was I going to submit to someone like him. But either way, I had to be respectful to my 'future alpha'.
"I understand," I muttered angrily.
He backed away and didn't take his eyes off me.
"Good." With that, he turned around and walked away leaving me in my spot wishing I could just punch him in his handsome face.
What...Tiana, what did you just say?
I huffed and walked back to my room but decided to try to find the kitchen to grab something to eat. I walked down the stairs carefully ignoring the stares I got from others and their whispering. It was pretty clear they had so many questions about me. Like how I survived and how I'm among the pack.
They could at least try to keep their voices down.
I kept walking around till I smelt food behind big doors then opened it
When the doors were completely opened, I walked inside the huge kitchen and noticed that there were some people in the kitchen eating food.
I walked towards the fridge when a nice looking lady came up to me and smiled.
"Hello honey, do you need anything?" She asked. I smiled at her and nodded my head.
"I'm actually quite hungry," I told her. She smiled a big smile at me which made my smile grow.
"Of course, the rest of the pack members already ate breakfast but there are remaining pancakes if you want," she said. My stomach growled at the sound of pancakes, my favorite food for breakfast, or lunch, or dinner. I could eat them any time of day!
"That would be great, thanks."
She grabbed a plate and placed three pancakes on top of each other and put it in front of me. I got a knife and a fork and sat on the counter and placed syrup on it and started to eat.
When I took my first bite I moaned out from the taste. It was delicious.
"It's delicious, thank you!" I thanked her, she chuckled and sat next to me.
"So you're one of the new members that came into our pack?" She asked, I nodded my head at her and ate another bite of my pancake.
"How does everyone know about us if we only entered yesterday?" I asked.
"It's because our pack hasn't had any new pack members in years so it wasn't hard to miss, although I am quite curious as to how you were able to enter this pack it's none of my business but I will let you know that there will be people who won't give up until they know." She stated. I was thankful she didn't ask but I also knew that there will be people who won't leave me alone until they know.
"Yeah that's true," I nodded my head.
"By the way, what's you're name sweetheart?" She asked.
"I'm Tiana, what about you?" I asked back.
"My name is Anastasia but you can call me Anna." I smiled at her and raised my hand.
"It's nice to meet you, Anna."
"It's nice to meet you too." we shook hands and smiled at each other. Well at least I know not everyone here is bad.
After I was done eating, I placed my plate in the sink and turned towards Anna.
"Would you like some help with anything?" I asked. Her eyes perked up and she smiled.
"If it isn't any trouble, I would like some help with cooking lunch for this evening." She said.
"Of course," I nodded my head with a small smile.
"Thank you, dear."
"You're welcome Anna, so where do I get started?" I asked. She took out some stuff from the fridge and told me what I had to do. I helped with the salad and some other stuff which was quite fun may I saw. After I was done, I excused myself and went to my room so I could clean up.
Once I made it to my room I grabbed a summer dress because it was getting really hot. I took off the clothes I was wearing and wore the dress. When I was done I sat on my bed and sighed. Somehow no matter how much I try to forget those dark eyes I can't seem to forget them. God, how I hate him so much!
Oh, and can I say that my wolf is so annoying? She keeps bringing him up and purring in my mind. It's really annoying.
I snapped my head up when I heard my room door open. Adam walked in with a huge smile on his face and sat down on the bed next to me.
"Don't you have training?" I asked. He looked at me and nodded his head.
"I do, it's just now we have a break." He told me. I nodded my head in understanding and raised a brow.
"Well don't you look happy?" I asked. His smile widened and he nodded once again.
"Because I am," he said.
"And the reason is?" I asked.
"Well, the beta thinks that I'm really good at fighting and he said with practice I might be in charge of the pack warriors." He stated happily.
I smiled up at him and patted his back.
"That's wonderful Adam," I said.
"I know. You know how long I always wanted this," he claimed.
"I know and I'm happy for you, did you make any friends?" I asked. Ok, now I just sound like a mom who asked her son that question on his first day of school.
"I met a couple of people who were nice, I guess you could call them friends." He chuckled. Adam then looked at me and raised an eyebrow.
"What about you? Did you make any friends?" He asked with a grin on his face. I rolled my eyes at him and huffed while looking away.
"I met this nice lady and helped her in the kitchen," I muttered. He then started laughing. I snapped my head at him and scowled.
"Why are you laughing?" I hissed. He stopped laughing and wiped a fake tear from his eye.
"Oh Tiana, poor Tiana. Never able to make real friends other than me," he teased. I growled lowly and punched him in his arm.
"I am capable of making friends," I stated. He looked at me and shook his head.
"No you can't, just admit it." He continued to tease me. I growled at him which made him laugh again.
"Shut up," I growled. He raised a brow and grinned.
"Or what?" He asked.
"Or this." I started to throw pillows at him but he got up from my bed and ran towards the door.
"Is that all you got?" He asked.
I threw one more pillow at him which made him run out of my room and closing the door behind him. I sighed and laid on my bed.
I jerked my body up when I heard my room door open once again and grabbed another pillow.
I threw the pillow again but this time my eyes widened when I heard a feminine gasp. Oops, that wasn't Adam. I looked at the person that came into my room and was shocked when I saw it was a beautiful girl with an amused expression on her face.
"Oh my God, I am so sorry. I thought you were someone else." I apologized while getting up and walking towards her. She smiled at me showing her perfectly straight teeth.
"It's no problem, was just shocked. That's all," she said. I sighed in relief and smiled.
"Is there anything you need?" I asked wondering why she was in my room.
She smiled a huge smile and walked closer to me.
"I just wanted to meet the new pack members everyone is talking about," she answered. I chuckled at her and raised my hand towards her.
"Well, I'm Tiana Sparks," I introduced myself. She looked at my hand but shook her head and pulled me into a hug. It caught me off guard but I hugged her back. When we pulled away she smiled a huge smile and introduced herself which made my eyes widen and mouth hanging open.
"And I'm Lina, Lina Wood."
