《Dr. Fate》Do you love her?

The surgery went well. I was able to fix the brain bleed and I will know more when she wakes. After washing up, I make my way to the ER to help with the incoming trauma.
Car accident and possible brain injury, one of the nurses informed me. They need me to check and make sure she is ok.
When I get down they are already rolling the woman into the room. Letting out a breath I step in and pick up a chart as the paramedic tells me whats happening.
"Female, Jane Doe, unconscious on site, has yet to regain consciousness. She was t-boned at the intersection on Walburg. Possible head injury her, a few scrapes and bruises, but as far as we can tell nothing is broken. We believe most of her injuries have are located above the neck. The police are searching the wreckage for identification."
I look up from the chart to the injured woman on the table. "I want a full body scan and --"
My heart stops and the room seems to shrink as I recognize who's on the table. People in the room stop and look up at me seeing as I cut off mid sentence. Forcing my mind to work I walk around the table and stand next to Lana, gently pushing her hair out of her face.
"Her name is Lana Davis, 24. She'll need a full body scan. And get Nathan in here he will have to take over."
I notice from the corner of my eye, one of the nurses picking up the phone and placing a call to Dr. Graham. Gently, I pick up a towel and wipe away the blood on her cheek as I wait for Nathan. Lana's stable right now.
Less than two minutes later, he arrives and pats my back relieving me from my duty. I don't move.

"Dr. Fate we need to take Ms. Davis for a full body scan per your request."
I nod. "I will be going as well."
"I can handle it Ashton."
I shake my head and glance at Lana before turning back to Nathan. "That's my fucking girlfriend on the table and I'm going to be by her side to find out what's happening."
I trust Nathan and I admit that I'm not thinking reasonably. He tells me to take a breath, assuring me that he will take care of Lana before suggesting that I get in touch with her emergency contacts. After Nathan assures me one more time that he will keep me updated I walk to my office and personally call Lana's parents.
The second I get off the phone with them, I get a page from Nathan to come down. Immediately I make my way to the second floor and into the room where Nathan is.
"She woke up and we can't get her to calm down. I would drug her but I decided to try you first," Nathan offers.
I know he's trying to help me and I take it as I walk into the scanning room where nurses try to calm Lana down. Her eyes fall to me and relief floods through my blood. She says my name, tears streaming down her cheeks. She's scared and disoriented.
Cautiously, I approach her and take her hand in mine. "Hi, Baby."
"What's going on, Ashton? Where am I?" She questions holding onto me as if her life depended on it.
I gently push her hair behind her ear and place a soft kiss to her lips. "You are in the hospital. You've been in a car accident. I requested that you got a full body scan."

She visibly relaxes. "Don't leave me."
"I won't, I'll be right behind that glass wall."
After another kiss, I walk behind the glass and watch as Nathan does the scan.
Out of nowhere he smacks me in the stomach. "The stripper Ashton?"
"Shut the hell up she's not a stripper. It was her first day on the job and she quit the next day. She's the girl from the one night stand."
Nathan freaks out. "That's the girl the one who wouldn't give a name?"
"I can hear you," Lana sighs.
Immediately Nathan cuts off the intercom. He's such an idiot. He looks at the scans and makes sure Lana can't hear before asking me if I love her. Honestly, I have no idea. She makes me feel something that no one else has ever accomplished. Every time I'm around her I feel like I loose my self control.
Nathan just chuckles, standing to his feet and clapping my back. "You're girl is surprisingly fine after the wreck she went through. Her ankle is sprained and she has a severe concussion so I want to keep her here overnight. Other than that she's fine. And I can tell the guys that I know who your mystery girl is."
Sometimes I question my friend choice, sometimes I couldn't ask for better ones.

At the District One Invitational, a rookie eSports team defied all odds and reached the finals. Their underdog story and humble beginnings elevated them to worldwide acclaim. 8 126Journey Towards Dao
What is infinite, possessing no beginning nor end? What is imperceptible, appearing both indistinct yet intelligible? What is indecipherable, unable to be interpreted or understood? What is quintessential, unfathomable, eternal? What is Dao? The main focus of this story is detailed cultivation, professions, and combat systems. It's a slice-of-life with a cultivation system that delves into psychological aspects (including minor psychopathic/sociopathic elements). Protagonist is the low-key sort. Be prepared for a slower start. This is my first ever experience writing fiction. I'm trying my best to put out quality content initially, but my main goal is to improve. Comments, ratings, and reviews are greatly appreciated!

Elizabeth Wilson commits suicide. She was the golden girl among her peers in Darkwood, Washington who stood above the pressure of her drug-ridden town. Explore the summer before her senior year that triggered the domino effect of Elizabeth's emotional and psychological breakdown that lead her to take her own life. This is the prequel to the main story, Petrichor and was never intended to be made. I wrote this because I wanted to explore Elizabeth's character and show how the main characters have changed since this event. I decided to release this first because Petrichor is undergoing a full rewrite. In the meantime, I'm writing a side story called Mourning Glory that takes place between the second and third act of Petrichor. Development is going rather fast so I suggest to to read that if you like this story
