CHAPTER 86

HARRY'S POINT OF VIEW

I got up early the next morning and made my way over to Starbucks. Thankfully Angie was still working there so I could have another chance to talk to her.

"What can I get you today?" Her voice asked me as I made my way over to her register.

"Same thing as last night please." I responded with a smirk on my face.

She turned around and began blending my smoothie. When she was done she put the lid on it and slid it over to me. Knowing the price, I pulled out a 5 dollar bill and handed it to her. Yet again she placed a shiny penny- heads up- on the counter between us. I picked it up and slipped it into my back pocket.

Since nobody was behind me in line, I decided now was a perfect time to try and get her to be my friend. "Thanks friend." I winked at her.

"We; are not friends." She snapped.

"Who are you to say that? I'm Harry Styles!" I retorted.

"If ignorance was a bliss, you would be the happiest person alive." She laughed.

"I'm not ignorant! I'm pretty down to earth and-"

"There's no need to be humble. You're not that great." She shot me a fake smile after she spoke.

"Must you be so rude to me?" I asked quietly.

"No, it's purely voluntary." Angie winked.

"You're a brat!" I said in a harsh tone. I hadn't mean to have said that, it just slipped out in the heat of the moment. "Angie I-" I began only to be cut off.

"It's okay, I've been called worse things by better men." She turned on her heel and walked into the back kitchen where I could not follow her. This girl is sassy.

I knew that her shift couldn't last forever, so I decided I would wait for her. I had nothing better to do for all that matter. I decided to sit down at a both in the back where she couldn't see me. I pulled out my phone and decided to call Louis. He could always make me feel better.

"Hey Harry, what's new?" His perky voice rang through my ears.

"Not much, just chilling at Starbucks. How about you?" I asked.

"Yesterday Angie and I had the best day ever! I'll let her tell you what happened. It was hilarious." He began laughing at something that someone he was with said to him, and I instantly felt guilty. He was clearly busy doing something else with more important people.

"What was that?" I asked laughing awkwardly.

"Angie just told me a joke." He continued laughing.

"What was it?" I questioned.

"It's kind of an inside thing..." He trailed off.

"Oh." I said softly.

"Sorry lad, I have to go to sound check. Bye!" He ended the call before I could say anything. I regretted calling him because I felt worse than I had before.

Plus, how could he have sound check? It was 10 pm over there. Did he just lie to me?

"Thanks for taking my shift Anna!" I heard Angie yell from across the restaurant.

"No problem, I hope he feels better!" A girl I presumed to be Anna call back.

I sprang up from my seat and caught up with Angie as she walked out the door. Now that she wasn't behind a counter, I could see what she looked like. She was wearing white short shorts and a blue floral printed t-shirt. She looked nice.

"Hey where are you off to?" I strolled up beside her as she walked down the street.

"Harry! You scared me." She said as she began walking faster; ignoring my question.

"So where are you headed?" I tried again.

"Get lost." She snarled.

"It doesn't matter what I do, does it?" I stopped walking and let my glance fall to the ground.

"What do you mean?" I was surprised to meet her eyes when I looked up. Her face had softened, and she looked honestly interested in what I had to say.

"No matter what I do, you'll always hate me." I said softly.

"You need not worry about that." She whispered.

"Your not from here." I stated.

I swear fer face went blank as soon as I said that.

"Hello." I waved my hand in front of her face as if she was in some sort of trance and my hand waving would break it.

"Sorry, what?" She asked.

"I said, your not from here." I repeated.

"No." She simply responded. "But neither are you." She added quickly.

"Well of course, I've got no accent." I laughed. "You however, do." I smiled.

"Well I guess I've picked one up." She giggled.

"So you've been here for awhile? Did you move here recently?" I questioned.

"What are you, a detective?" She laughed again.

"No, actually I'm a famous singer." I joked. "But really, I'm just interested." I added.

"Why?" She quickly asked.

"Because I can tell that your an interesting person."

"Tell me something I don't know." She kidded.

"Well clearly you've put up a very strong wall." I said seriously.

"Huh?" She asked.

"I don't think that you're as strong as you play out to be." I added.

"That's the smartest thing you've said all day." She turned on her heel and began walking away.

"So what is it?" I asked as I caught up to her.

"What is what?" She challenged back.

"What is the reason that you keep a wall up for?" I requested.

"That is for you to find out, and me to hide."
