CHAPTER 39
ANGIE’S POV
“Louis?” I said quietly as I rolled into my room.
He spun around and he surprisingly looked happy. “What’s up Angie?”
“I just wanted to make sure you okay.” I said suspiciously.
“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” He flashed a toothy smile, making me laugh.
“I just thought you were a little upset to hear that Mary had a boyfriend.” I said, unable to look him in the eye.
“Mary’s cool, but I don’t think she’s the girl for me. I hope I didn’t ruin the chance for her and me to be friends.”
“I’m sure things will work out just fine Lou.” I said hopefully.
“I really hope so, she seemed super chill.” Louis said playfully.
I laughed and then thought about how lucky I was to be friends with Louis. Not because he was a famous heart-throb, but because he was nice, funny, and super sweet. I was happy to be friends with Liam, Zayn, and Niall but I’ll never be as close to them as I am with Louis.
“Lou, can I tell you something?” I began.
“You can tell me anything babe.” He said smiling.
“I love you.” I said with a goofy grin plastered on my face.
“I love you too Angie.” He said wrapping his arms around me.
“You’re the best friend I could ever ask for.” I said as he released me from his tight hug.
“The same goes for you.” He said as he stood up and pushed me out of the room and back to the TV room. Harry was sitting on the couch with his eyes glued to his phone; typical Harry. Robin and Niall were whispering about something, and Liam and Zayn were talking about horses.

“Hey do you guys want to play truth or dare?” I suggested as I was rolled back into the room.
Harry’s eyes shot off of his screen and looked at me evilly. Knowing him, he probably had some cheeky ideas for the game. Niall and Robin looked excited, and Zayn and Liam looked irritated that I interrupted there horse discussion.
Soon enough I had everyone sitting in a circle on the floor, except for me who was still in my wheelchair, and playing truth or dare.
“Okay…Angie! Truth or dare?” Louis asked me.
“Truth please.” I said smiling.
“Explain in detail about your first kiss.”
When he said this I thought back to the day when I was on my first date with Ryan Lemons. We were 13 and really liked each other. He had taken me to see a movie and then play minigolf which was like my dream date! When we were playing minigolf, I had gotten a hole in one, and he leaned in and kissed me. His lips crashed onto mine and I felt sparks fly from my toes up. When I pulled away, he and I were both smiling at each other.
I have to say it was like the best day ever.
“So, are you going to answer me, or not?” Louis asked.
I had realized I had been trapped in my thoughts, and Louis’s words brought me back to reality. I looked at him with a blank expression on my face. He looked impatient, waiting for me to answer. I was about to start telling the story of Ryan and I, when I saw Harry’s face. He looked uncomfortable and awkward. I knew that he was looking this way, because I knew that I was his first kiss, and he knew that he wasn’t mine. It always made him sad, so we never really talked about my first kiss. But now, I didn’t really have a choice.

“Angie, what’s wrong?” I heard Louis ask.
Dang, I got lost in my thoughts again!
“I was with my friend Emma and this boy named Jake, who was really gross, came over and he kissed me. It was the most disgusting thing ever. When I pulled away, I slapped his face so hard that he started crying. Then I ran into my house and washed my lips with soap. I have to say it was like the worst day ever.”
“That sucks.” Liam said laughing.
Sure enough, all of the boys, and Robin were laughing at me. Whatever, at least Harry isn’t upset now.
“Alright, well I think it’s about time you guys should be going.” I said cutting in.
“It’s only 7:00!” Niall shouted.
“I have school tomorrow. Don’t forget that you guys are my ride.” I said wheeling myself out of the room.
They all nodded and walked out of my apartment saying goodnight, and all that stuff. But after all of them had left and I was sitting alone watching TV, there was a knock at the door. I wheeled over and opened it, to see Louis.
“Come in.” I said confused.
He walked in and plopped himself down on my couch saying nothing.
“Can I help you?” I said laughing slightly.
“That wasn’t your first kiss. I could tell you were lying to protect Harry’s feelings.” He said staring right at me.
“You came all this way to tell me something I already know.” I said laughing.
“Why though, I mean what’s the big deal?” He asked as he helped me onto the couch next to him.
“It’s not a big deal; I just didn’t want to tell the truth.” I said softly.
“You’re a good person Angie.” He said as he slung his arm over me.
“I know, I know.” I said giggling.
“Where’s Matthew?” Louis asked.
To be honest, I had completely forgotten about Matthew. He said he was going to a friend’s house, but that was a long time ago. It’s now 10:00 on a school night. I know I sound like a Mom or something, but I thought he would’ve been home by now.
“I don’t know.” I said quietly.
“I am sure he is okay.” Louis probably sensed I was upset.
I nodded my head and then said, “Can you help me into bed, I’m quite tired.”
He nodded his head and helped me into the wheelchair. Then he pushed me down the hall and into my room. There, he picked me up slowly; his hands on my thigh and neck, and laid me down gently into bed. He pulled the covers up to my chin and then kissed me lightly on the forehead. “I’ll wait in the living room into Matthew gets back.” He said softly.
“Thanks Lou.” I said smiling.
“Goodnight Angie, sleep tight. I love you.” He said as he walked out of my room.
“Love you too Louis.” I said as I drifted off into a deep sleep.
