"Oh my God," Amy repeated under her breath as she stared into the full-length mirror at her wedding dress. "This is happening." I chuckled softly and nodded. One of her other bridesmaids stood up from the stool she was previously lounging on and launched forward to hug her.

"This is crazy." Amy's friend spluttered.

"Okay, okay. Let's try not to make the bride cry before she goes down the aisle." I smiled supportively at my sister as she was released from her hug. She turned to me and held my hands. "You look beautiful," I told her softly, undeniably jealous of how perfect the ceremony was bound to be.

"I know." Her voice faltered despite how confident she sounded. We both laughed loudly until a knock at the door forced us to part. "That'll be dad."

"You ready?" I asked her, squeezing her hands. She bit her lip and exhaled anxiously before nodding.

As soon as we all exited the small room and into the corridor leading to the entrance to the hall, I could see all the men dressed in their suites, waiting to accompany us down the aisle. I couldn't suppress my smile as Luke's eyes met mine. We approached them all and waited by the big double doors until we were told to approach. I linked my arm with Luke's but didn't say anything in fear that I might start crying.

"You look beautiful." He whispered in my ear, leaning down quite a bit to do so. I smiled to myself and just nodded playfully. We were the first couple to go up and I was nervous to do just that and I don't know why. Staff opened the doors for us and we were instructed to walk down and separate to each side of the arch, making sure to leave room for the bride. The music started simultaneously and before I knew it, Luke and I were walking down the aisle, arm in arm. I slowly looked around at the familiar faces of friends and family and felt overcome with emotion. We reached the end and split up into each side, watching as the trail of bridesmaids entered behind us. Robert looked like he was literally shitting himself as he watched the door anxiously.

And then she entered.

Amy slowly walked down the aisle with her head bopping up and down and a linked arm with our father. He looked just as happy as she did. She genuinely looked stunning. She used her other hand to wave at some of the people in the seats. She approached Robert with a slight laugh as he raised his eyebrows at her. The priest started the ceremony and I think the majority switched off. I locked eyes with Luke, who was staring me down. He mouthed 'I love you' to me and I felt my cheeks turn red, but I returned the statement in silence.

"I do," Robert said happily before Amy repeated the same sentence.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife." The priest finished the ceremony and the happy couple shared the blessed kissed. I cheered loudly, making everyone else join in with me. Amy laughed and started walking down the aisle again, this time with her husband by her side. I followed behind with Luke holding onto my hand while cheers continued to fill up the hall.

We were sat in the large room where the party was being held when Robert stood up and initiated the speeches. Luke and I were sat next to each other on the main table where our family and close friends were. Robert was already slightly tipsy by this point in the evening, so he was slightly messy with his words, but they were sweet none the less.

"I want to start off by thanking you all for being here. As cliche as it sounds, I feel like I've known Amy for years when in reality it's been a year; the best year of my life. Even lazy days in the apartment were some of the best days. And, of course, Amy's parents have been so accommodating and supportive of us and our decisions. I couldn't have asked for better in-laws." He rambled on, making my mum blush. "So, again, thank you." He sat back down and everyone cheered as his speech, some other members of the crowd being as tipsy as he was. Then it was my turn to speak.

I stood up and looked around the room at the beautiful people around me and took in a deep breath. I've never been good at public speaking. "Before Robert," I started. "Amy was just another mean girl to me. She didn't care about me, or, really anyone. And, my God, the boyfriends...." There were a few humble laughs in the audience, including Luke and my sister. "But I did a really...bad thing." I felt a lump in my throat as I thought more about the situation. "I was so caught up in believing that Amy was such a bad person that I couldn't even see when I was hurting her." Luke's hand gently nudged my leg to remind me he was there, like a safety blanket. I smiled softly without looking down. "But the point is, I ran to Amy when I was having relationship problems and, despite what I had done to her, she talked to me. When she met Robert she completely changed, for the best. I don't know what kind of trickery he used, but it worked, and I'm so thankful to have both of you in my life." I raised my glass of champagne in the air and grinned playfully. "To the couple of the century." I made eye contact with my sister who in return, had tears in her eyes. The crowd repeated my sentence and followed it up with cheers and claps.

The speeches continued for a while, some members of the family on each side dragging on with personal anecdotes and stories before someone would cut them off. A few of the bridesmaids and best men did small speeches before it finally came to an end. That was when people really got into the night. The music was turned up loud and the bride and groom had their first dance. It was to a soppy pop song that they both sang along to as they stumbled around the dance floor. Towards the end of the dance, the DJ invited us all to dance with them and so, we all piled on, pathetically trying to dance around like it was prom all over again. Luke held his hand out to me and smiled like prince charming. I accepted his proposal and wrapped my arms around his neck while he kept his arms around my waist.

"We're not playing this song for our first dance," Luke said casually, getting close to my ear so I could hear him over the music and chatter. Once again, my heart skipped a beat and I felt myself overheating. "Ooh, what if we play Mr Brightside? You love that song." Why was he talking so casually about our wedding when he hasn't even proposed yet?

"Well, you need to propose before we can dance to Mr Brightside, don't you?" I said smugly. At that point, we were both fully aware that we wanted to get married and it was just a matter of waiting. I felt him take in a sharp breath as if a rush of anxiety had just hit him. "Are you okay?" I moved my head back and moved my hands so one was resting on his shoulder and the other one was pressed against his forehead. He looked me in the eyes with a serious expression before just nodding. No words, no movement. Not until he leaned forward and kissed me. A short kiss that only lasted for a couple of seconds. I furrowed my eyebrows at his strange behaviour. "You're not going to propose are you?" I joked, even though half my heart hoped it was true. He softly laughed and shook his head, finally letting some life back into his soul.

"Stop being so needy, princess." He whispered into my ear before walking away. I scoffed, but let a small grin rest on my face. To be honest, we hadn't really been into all that stuff recently. We just didn't care for it anymore; we had experienced it and had fun with it but we were both just done with it. If anything, it was more of a joke than anything else by then.

Later on in the night, after dancing a lot, drinking a lot, and talking a lot, Luke and I decided to head back to the hotel room. The reception venue wasn't that far away from our apartment, but we thought a change in atmosphere would make things more exciting. It was pretty hard to walk down a couple of hallways in stilettos while drunk and holding onto your equally as drunk boyfriend. In all honesty, I don't know how we managed to find our room, let alone actually get in, but we did it. From our room, you could see some of the city lights beyond the construction site that sat happily directly outside. I idled by the window, swaying slightly from the effects of the alcohol, while Luke took his shoes off and sat on the king-sized bed behind me. I turned around and tilted my head as I watched Luke do seemingly normal things like take off his watch and put his phone on the bed side table. He was so good at seeming sober.

I giggled and stumbled forward until I was somehow straddling Luke who seemed startled by my actions. He gently rubbed his thumbs back and forth on my thighs as I started to kiss Luke; a kiss completely different from the one on the dance floor. Neither of our breaths smelt or tasted nice, but we were distracted enough to not care. I used my hands to my advantage, dragging them up and down his torso to turn him on. I started rocking my hips in a circular motion in the heat of the moment, receiving multiple moans from Luke. He pressed his lips and waist against mine even harder, wanting no air left between us. He travelled from my lips to my neck, using the front of his teeth to graze the surface. I hummed blissfully while he did his thing and I did mine. Things suddenly intensified, going from zero to one hundred within a matter of minutes. We both ended up half naked- Luke with his bottom half off and me my top half off. For some reason, Luke stopped kissing me and took a second to catch his breath. The panic set off in me, thinking I had done something wrong or maybe even hurt him, but it was all just paranoia, not fact. We were both lying down on the bed in strange positions, so, I moved over so I was facing the ceiling in silence.

"I don't get it. Did you come already?" I asked half-seriously.

"No, no." He quickly denied. "I got distracted." He was also facing the ceiling, but he felt around the bed to find my hand and lifted the connected hands up in the air so we could see them in the moonlight that had snuck in through the window. Neither one of us were sober yet, so not everything we said made sense. "We should have a baby." He blurted out. I was completely silent. "I mean, we'd make great parents." His voice was really high-pitched.

"Okay, what?" I slurred drunkenly, laughing slightly at the same time. "I love you more than anything in this world but I want to be married first."

"Stop pressuring me!" He groaned and rolled over so he wasn't facing me or the ceiling anymore.

"Luke Hemmings," I started gently nudging his shoulder so he would turn to face me, which he did faster than expected. "I hope you know that I wouldn't say no. You have nothing to worry about. You're the first guy I've ever seen a future with and I-I..." I suddenly started to stutter.

"What?" He encouraged me, but I didn't want to talk anymore. I sat up as quickly as I could.

"I'm gonna throw up-" I floundered to the ensuite, trying to keep all the vomit inside before I reached the toilet. I heard a distant curse and then worried footsteps seconds later. Before he had the chance to hold my hair back, I was vomiting my stomach out, wretching and all. Luke still held back my hair, though, despite the fact there was literal vomit in it. He used his spare hand to rub my back and squeeze my shoulders in support. Once I felt like I wasn't about to imminently bring up the night's appetizers, I sighed and leaned my weight on the back of my heels while I was kneeling. "Do you remember that time I told you to never let me drink again and you promised me never?" I asked in a rough voice.

"I do." He nodded.

"Let's promise not to make stupid promises."

"Promise."
