《Breathing ∞ Kol Mikaelson [1]》[50]

Emma wished she could be as quiet as a vampire while sneaking around, but alas, the sound of crunching leaves and twigs beneath her feet was the only one filling the air as she and Kol snuck around the farmland property. According to Kol, he could hear the vampires were being held in the barn, and so he led the way, hand holding on to Emma's as they hid behind one of the buildings.
The property wasn't too occupied by the vampire hunting deputies, but with it being an open space, that made it easy to be seen. Luckily, the two of them had the element of surprise on their side. While the hunters were out there looking for them, they were right under their noses.
"How do we get to the barn without them seeing us?" Emma whispered to Kol, straightening up from where she' d been leaning over to look at a pair of men patrolling the grounds and standing in their way just around the corner from the building behind which they were hiding.
Emma got no verbal response to her question. Instead, she felt him release her hand as he disappeared. Poking her head back around, she looked at the men just in time to see Kol appear behind them, snapping their necks before either could even notice his presence, much less announce it to anyone.
"Well that was easy." She whispered as he appeared by her side again, dumping the bodies of the two men among the bushes on the side of the property. They weren't too hidden, but with the aid of the darkness, they wouldn't be found until Emma, Kol and Rebekah were long gone.
"So's this." Kol added on, and Emma felt the wind sweeping across her face as his arms wrapped around her waist. In a blink, the two found themselves standing by the side of the barn. She looked up at his smirking face with a small shake of her head.
"Show-off." She mumbled as he released her, ready to step out of their hiding place and make his way into the barn to release his sister. However, before he could, Emma pulled on his arm, drawing him back into the shadows just as two men appeared from the other side. "And yet, I still continue saving your ass."
They silently watched as two men made their way into the barn, both carrying large amounts of vervain in their hands. Emma looked over at Kol's face once the two disappeared inside the building. She couldn't hear what was happening inside, but he could. He'd know the best time to head inside.
"Matt and Damon are here too, putting on quite a show." Kol whispered as he listened, catching the conversation going on in front of the property as well as in the barn.
"Good, they can provide a distraction." Emma nodded her head in approval. And she was proven correct as one of the men rushed out of the barn, but the other remained inside.
She knew one human wouldn't be much of an obstacle, but their plan was to avoid as many of them as possible. Just one shooting off their gun if they noticed them would alert everyone else. And then the element of surprise and stealth would be gone. The plan certainly didn't seem much like the type of plan Kol would come up, knowing how easily he could just kill them all, even if they were shooting their guns. But Emma didn't question it when they decided on it.

"Hm." Kol hummed to himself, making Emma's brows furrow as she sent him a questioning look, wondering what he might've heard. But he didn't tell her what it was. "Come on." He simply took hold of her hand and started to lead her into the barn, still quiet and careful just in case.
Only once they made their way inside, did Emma understand what happened to make him think now was the time to enter. She watched as Stefan slammed the head of the hunter into the bars of his cell one last time before letting his body fall to the floor, blood quickly pooling around his head as it spilled from the injury.
"Seems like there's no need for our dashing rescue plan after all." Kol was the first to speak, announcing their presence as he made his way to the dead body, snatching the keys of the man's belt.
"You took your bloody time." Rebekah rolled her eyes at her brother in an annoyed manner, eyes watching expectantly as he tossed Emma one pair of keys. As he reached for the other, Kol noticed something else.
"Someone looks a bit peckish." He chuckled in amusement, a cough following the action as the vervain in the air scratched at his throat. One glance at what he was looking made it clear what it was that amused him; the Gilbert girl greedily trying to reach the blood as it spread across the floor. One look at her made it clear she was in desperate need of it.
"How stupid must you be to put off feeding until the last second?" Emma wondered out loud with a shake of her head. It was a good thing Stefan did what he did or Elena would have, very evidently, died without completing her transition.
"Just let her out, Kol." Rebekah instructed her brother in an exasperated tone. She herself couldn't wait to get out of here, and so it made her quite happy as Emma made her way over to stand in front of the cell she was in. Wiggling the keys into the lock, it wasn't long before the door sprung open.
"You don't know how glad I am to see you." Rebekah announced as she threw her arms around Emma's shoulders, making the Park give out a small laugh as she hugged the blonde back. Rebekah was not only happy because Emma was rescuing her, but also because she'd heard her inside the house just as the hunters attacked. And not having seen her here with them, it made Rebekah worry about what might've happened to the human once the bullets started to fly.
"Welcome to the club." Kol's voice made them both turn to look as Elena was released from her cell, diving for the neck of the dead deputy as soon as she was free to do so. Kol simply moved on to Stefan's cell, since his sister seemed so intent on releasing both of the vampires stuck in here with her.
"How did you even find us?" Stefan questioned with furrowed brows as he waited. The question had Emma and Kol sharing a knowing look between themselves before one replied.

"We got lucky." Emma said simply. She knew better than to tell the truth. If you have a secret which can be used against someone in a fight, well... You don't reveal it for no reason, even if there does seem to be a ceasefire at the time.
Both Stefan and Rebekah could see that the two rescuers were hiding something behind that very vague response, but before they could question it, Elena rose back to her feet. With her first taste of human blood, she was now fully turned into a vampire, as could be seen by the bloodshot eyes and veins spreading out beneath them. And they didn't seem to be going away.
"Elena." Stefan called out her name in a warning tone, watching as the brunette stood to her feet, a faraway look on her face. However, she was turned towards Emma, the only source of her new diet in the room.
Rebekah carefully eyed the Gilbert, gently pulling on Emma's arm so she was now standing in front of her. Even Kol abandoned the keys to Stefan's cell, leaving him trapped inside while he continued to call out to Elena in an attempt to get her to snap out of whatever she was in. And then, just like that, she was gone.
"Well, she knows how to make a dramatic entrance." Kol said jokingly, obviously having heard wherever Elena went or what she did. With her gone, none of the three really cared what she was doing anymore.
"Says the Mikaelson." Emma sent him a teasing look.
"Come on." Rebekah suddenly spoke. "Stefan can release himself now that he has the keys. I want to get out of here." The blonde said in a determined tone, and neither Kol nor Emma had any reason to object. By the sound of another cough coming from Kol, it was clear he was eager to get away from the vervain infested air as well.
Walking outside, they saw another dead guard lying not far from the barn, one not of Emma or Kol's doing. And with the pastor hiding away in his house as his protective detail had been slaughtered, there was no need to rush or run away.
"I have both good news and bad news, all rolled into one." Rebekah spoke first as they walked along the property and towards the road. Her words made Emma turn to her with a curious look. How could there be more bad news on top of the council starting a town wide vampire hunt?
"Give me a moment before you share it, sister." Kol, however, seemed to be focused on something else entirely. Rebekah wanted to scold him for dismissing her, but he was gone, speeding away before she could.
He didn't go far. Appearing by one of the bushes and dragging a person out of their hiding place within them. Emma was expecting him to just snap the man's neck, but instead he held the man up by his collar and seemingly started up a conversation. Although, by the terrified look on the man's face, it wasn't a pleasant one.
"What's that about?" She asked Rebekah who also had her eyes glued to the scene. At least until she rolled her eyes in a bored manner and turned back to look at her friend.
"Kol's playing with his food." She said dismissively, choosing to tune out the conversation she had no care for overhearing. However, she didn't realize that was exactly what Kol hoped for. Because once she did, he could ask the questions he really wanted.
"What about you? Are you okay?" Emma questioned. Aside from some vervain inhalation, Rebekah did look fine, but the brunette didn't want to just assume.
"Nothing some blood can't fix." Rebekah said reassuringly. "When we get home." She added quickly, not even wanting to give Emma a moment to offer her own as she knew she would.
"I didn't tell anyone!" The sudden exclamation interrupted their conversation and had them looking back to Kol and the deputy just in time to see Kol's fangs sink into the man's neck, having obtained all he wanted from him. It wasn't long before the man's body went limp and the blood completely drained from it.
Releasing it to slump to the floor lifelessly, Kol started to head back to Emma and Rebekah, wiping the blood from his mouth while a pleased smirk coated his lips. And it didn't disappear even once he saw the questioning look in his sister's eyes.
"He shot me." Kol explained, like he had no other need or reason to kill the man. With one glance back at the body, Emma realized that Kol was right. It was one of the two men who'd cornered the two of them back in the Mikaelson home earlier that day.
"Now come on, we can go home and you can tell us what your big news is, sister." Kol reminded, easily changing the topic and knowing Rebekah would be eager to share whatever she had to. He threw his arm around Emma's shoulders as the three started to move again, entirely ignoring the presence of Elena and the rest of the group as they took their leave.
"Our brother is alive." Rebekah announced without hesitation, the words making both Kol and Emma freeze in surprise, eyes turning to the blonde in disbelief.
"I'm sorry... What?!"

8 263Nameless Hypocrite
"Bastard, surrender yourself!" "You think you can escape our encirclement?!" "An omnicidal fiend like you can only atone in death!" Despite his precarious situation, a young man ignored the union's provocations. His violet robe was in tatters, showing the incredible number of attacks he received, yet there was no sign of injury. Noticing the light smile tugging at his lips, the pursuing heroes warily watched him, cautious of a final attack. It was only by working together that they could corner a monster like him. An arrow pierced the air, beelining towards the young man. A malicious gleam revealed itself in his eyes; he unsheathed his sword, a long, curved blade, and deflected the projectile, spiking it into the ground. The archer's eyes widened before being split in two. He died suddenly and indignantly. The group backed away; their former confidence diminished greatly by the invisible counter. It was then that the young man sighed, his voice full of lament and self-pity. "Being a saint truly is difficult, even the world cannot understand my righteous actions." The expressions of the surrounding heroes turned ugly. Such blatant hypocrisy! Yes, the protagonist is a villain. We don't do morals here. New chaps when I write them
8 177New Job (Jensen X Reader)
I finally got the job that I have been dreaming of since I was a child. But I couldn't admit it to my parents because they don't like actors. I was going to auditions in secret, despite the fact that I'm 28. I got the role of a demon who is demon Dean's 'girlfriend' and I have to say that I'm going to enjoy it a lot because the actor that pictures Dean is really good looking. I'm going to be as professional as I can and I hope he does do.
