A body harness is a piece of BDSM gear that is worn as bondage clothing or used as a restraint. It is typically made of leather and is secured over the body through one- to two- centimeter wide straps and buckles. There are many body harness variations designed to fit the different design needs of men and women.
As it is, a body harness does not restrain the wearer. However, it comes with strategically located straps and buckles that may be used to restrain a bottom's arms and legs. Other variations include secure openings and holds for dildos, suspension gears, and other sex toys. When using the body harness, make sure to tighten the straps at a comfortable level. Prolonged wearing of tightly strapped harnesses may result in skin cuts and irritation.
