《Fire and Ice》Chapter 38: Our Ending

I refuse to forget anything about my wedding. We had finally joined the Cullens with the Quileute pack for eternity. I'd kept my word and asked my brothers to walk me down the isle.

My dress was a little on the extravagant side, using lace and other materials to mimic the leaves and trees around my bust and shoulders before blending into a velvet and flowing skirt. There were some small diamonds scattered all over, they were so small you'd barely notice them until I stepped into the sun. Then it looked like I too sparkled like the rest of the Cullens.

At the end of the isle stood my Paul waiting for me, he had his pack brothers standing as his groomsmen, I'd had Leah and Emily, along with my sisters as my bridesmaids, their blue dresses matched my eyes. Renesmee was so excited to be my flower-girl. All our friends had come back for the wedding, everyone from the field; the pack, Charlie and Sue, even Bella's mom and her husband. Everyone looked amazing, but in that moment I was only focused on him.

And his eyes never left mine, I saw him fighting back tears, not wanting to cry. But when I smiled at him, I saw a tear fall.

Carlisle smiled at me when I'd joined them at the alter, being a pastors son in his past life, he was more than happy to be the one to perform the marriage when I asked. When it came time to the vows I was an emotional wreck.

"Cathrine, from the moment I saw you, my world changed. You changed me for the better. You've become the one person I never want to be apart from, the one person I see myself spending forever with. The old me would've been terrified to be with only one person for the rest of my life, but with you I couldn't be more excited. The way you love, is unlike anything I've ever seen, you are the most open and accepting person I've ever known. You've accepted me with my flaws and I can't thank you enough for that. I know I've made mistakes, and many of which I can't take back. But you deciding to forgive me and letting me stay in you're life is the biggest blessing I could have. I love you so much and I promise that every day for the rest of my life I will never let you forget that."

There were tears, from me, from the audience, hell even Quill and Embry were crying. Though they wouldn't admit it afterward.

I stifled a bit of laughter, "I don't know how to top that," I started, "I lost my family. I thought I'd lost everything until I came here. Where I was quickly welcomed into not one family, but two. And in that I learned the meaning of love. It's not just blood, or who you knew growing up. It's the people who openly accept you for who you are and still want you in their life. I never believed in mates or imprints. With my luck I'd figured I would just end up alone again. But you, and everyone here proved me wrong. You showed me that love is not only real, but that it's so much stronger than people think. You are one of the best things that ever happened to me, and we're going to be together as long as we both shall live."

I could see Carlisle beaming at me from the corner of his eye before proceeding with the "I do's". My eyes never left Paul's when he told me "I do".

I'd barely finished saying it back, when he impatiently kissed me, Carlisle laughed, "I now pronounce you man and wife."

Everyone applauded as we continued to kiss. This one felt different than the others, I guess since I could then say I was kissing my husband. And it felt amazing.

Our reception was really rowdy, considering all the pack boys were hooting and hollering together on the dance floor as the music played.

Paul and I were standing together talking to Billy who was congratulating us, "So where you guys heading?" He asked.

"Egypt, we have a friend who's letting us stay with him for a little while," I smiled over at Benjamin who waved.

"You should wear sunscreen," Beth teased as she joined us, "You've always been pretty pale."

We laughed. Then Jasper and Alice came rushing with our bags, "You don't want to be late for your flight!" She told me.

We nodded saying bye to everyone, At the end of the line was Carlisle and Esme, "Have fun," they smiled at me.

"We'll be back soon," I promised hugging them, "You know. I feel like I haven't thanked you," they looked at me confused, "Thank you. For taking me in. You're the best parents a girl could ask for."

I saw them beam at me bringing me in for one final hug, each of them kissing my cheek, "Let's go! She's only going on her honeymoon! They still live with us!" Emmett teased.

I chuckled hugging him one more time before waving to everyone else and hopping in the car with Paul. We drove away, I watched as the familiar faces faded away. We'd see Ben in Egypt but coming home would be different. Things changed again, and this time I welcomed it. Kissing Paul's cheek we started our eternity.
