Everlyn pov
A month went by since we decided to get to know each other better and learn more about each other, they told us about what's it like to be a vampire, their life before and after, what we like and don't like, and as a result the six of us have grown much closer.
While Edward has been keeping his distance from us, only talking to one of us if it's absolutely necessary.
"Skip school with us tomorrow." Emmett suddenly said during lunch.
"Why are you skipping tomorrow?" I asked suspiciously.
"It's gonna be sunny." Alice said.
"Oh yeah, we wouldn't want anyone seeing you sparkle." I said chuckling.
"Please skip with us, it'll be a great opportunity for you to meet our parents." Alice said.
"Sure why not." I said with a shrug to hide my anxiety about meeting their parents.
"They already love you." Jasper said, putting his hand on mine.
"I can't wait until I get my powers so I can use them against you." I said half joking.
Everyone laughed before Rose said "bimbo 6 o'clock."
"HI you probably remember me, I'm Jessica, I'm having a birthday party on Friday you should stop by if you want." She said, in a bubbly voice while pushing her boobs forward.
"No." Rose said, giving her a bored look making me giggle behind my hand.
Rose looked at me obviously hearing me laugh and winked at me making me blush under her gaze.
"What Rosalie meant to say is that we already have plans, sorry." Edward said politely.
"Oh ok well feel free to stop by ." she said with a flirty look before glaring at Rosalie and leaving.
"This is gonna be so great! I can already see Leah saying yes to skipping tomorrow, it's going to be such a good day." Alice said happily practically jumping in her sit.
After lunch we split up to go to our class and didn't see each other until the end of the day.
I was waiting for my mates to come out of school when Jessica approached me.
"Are you dating Edward Cullen?" She asked rudely.
"Can I help you?" I asked kinda stund by her question and prasent.
"I asked you a question." She said folding her arms.

"Yeah I heard." I said with annoyance.
"Well are you?" She asked.
"It's none of your business." I told her, hoping to be done with this conversation.
"I asked you politely, you don't want to see me asking rudely." She said trying to sound intimidating.
I tried to hold it, I really did... but a second later I was laughing bending over with tears in my eyes.
"What's so funny?" Emmett asked, walking up to us and putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Nothing just a really good joke, are you ready to go?" I asked.
"Yeah Rose is already in the car." Emmett said, before we walked away from Jessica and to the car.
"If I don't snap her neck by the end of the year it'll be a miracle." Rosalie said, when we entered the car.
"Oh come on Rosy, you have to admit it was funny." I said, still laughing a little.
"She threatened you." She said, in a deadpaned voice.
"Oh please, I've met kittens more intimidating than her." I said.
"Where are we going anyway?" Emmett asked.
"To the diner so Leah and I could eat, than we'll go where the wind takes us." I said dramatically.
"You're in a good mood today." Rose said smiling at me through the mirror.
I just shrugged and hummed to the radio until we got to the diner.
I saw Leah talking to Alice and Jasper and walked up to her going straight in for a hug.
"Hi honey." Leah said fondly hugging me closer.
"You should switch schools." I said, in a smoshed voice not taking my head out of her neck.
"I agree." Rosalie said, kissing Leah's cheek somehow making me blush.
"I can't thought, I need to stay in case one of the boys turns and to watch over Seth." she said.
"Would you skip tomorrow?" Alice asked excitedly.
"Sure, one day wouldn't hurt anyone." Leah easily agreed to spend more time with her mates.
I finally took my head out of Leah's neck, "you're hungry." I stated.
"Yes I am, and you're eating too." Leah said, before we all walked inside and set in one of the big booths together.
"I want ice cream." I said, not even picking up the menu.

"No, pick something with nutritional value." Jasper said placing the menu in front of me.
I gave him a look but he just stared at me not relenting.
While we were having our little starting match Leah ordered for both of us and I gave her a betrayed look.
"I see how it is." I said looking away from them.
Emmett chuckled from beside me before pulling me closer to him "don't worry doll I'll save you from our mean mates." He whispered in my ear before kissing my temple.
I was blushing red but didn't pull away.
"A burger and a pasta, injoy." The waitress said, placing our food in front of us, I looked at the pasta it does look good but I said I wanted ice cream...
"Drop the principal and just eat. I'll get you ice cream afterwards." Jasper said.
Leah was already eating and having a conversation with Ali and Rose.
I looked at Jasper with a calculating look "2 scoops?" I asked.
"As much as you want." he said, with a small smile.
"Ok." I said before I started to eat.
After the food, I got my ice cream, 3 scoops. before Leah took me home, kissing me goodnight before going home herself.
"Hey kiddo." dad called when I walked into the house.
"Hey daddio." I answered, coming into the living room.
"Dad you know how I'm friends with the Cullens right." I said, sitting down.
"Right, friends." Dad said with a knowing voice.
"Dad, not again." I groaned in embarrassment.
"You know kid I'm cool, I'm hip, I know that nowadays there are relationships with more then just two people." Dad said.
"Please stop talking." I said face plummeting.
"Ok, ok." dad said, raising his hands in surrender.
"It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow and Dr and Mrs Cullen are taking their kids hiking and they invited Leah and me." I said.
"What's the catch?" Dad asked.
"It's on school time." I said.
"And you are going to go hiking?" He asked amused.
"Hey, I love the forest." I said offended.
"Oh I know, but you hate walking." Dad said.
"Leah will carry me." I said.
"And Harry agreed to let Leah skip school?" He asked.
"Dad between you and me, we both know Harry doesn't really care if Leah skips school." I said.
"Fine, you haven't missed a day since the beginning of the year so you deserve a little break. This is a one time thing." Dad said in a stern voice.
"Of course it is, Thanks Dad." I said hugging him before heading upstairs.
"And you know the rules, if you get another boyfriend or girlfriend you tell me." Dad called.
"Goodnight dad." I called back.
I did my night routine before going to bad thinking about what my dad said, 'he knows me too well.' I thought bitterly before falling asleep.
the next morning I woke up startled from a nightmare still feeling the phantom pain of the memory all over my body.
Getting out of bed I still felt sluggish, like the nightmare was still affecting me. I got ready for the day putting on a sweater and skirt feeling nervous about meeting my mates parents it's different with Harry and Sue I've known them my entire life. Jasper and Emmett picked me up an hour later but I couldn't bring myself to lift my mood.
"Are you alright darling?" Jasper asked, after I got into the car.
"Why, what am I feeling?" I asked kinda serious.
"I don't know... it's a little foggy." Jasper said worried.
we spend the rest of the drive in silence before Emmett broke it saying, "We're here."
'Ok... I can do this.' I thought.
Emmett opened my door, taking my hand, and started walking towards the door.
"Can we wait for Leah?" I asked.
"Yeah of course, she'll be here soon." Jasper said.
"Seriously doll, are you ok?" Emmett asked.
"I... I had a weird dream last night." I said.
"Nightmares again?" Leah asked concerned.
"Hey, good morning." I said, turning to look at leah coming out of the woods.
"don't fake a smile, what happened?" She asked.
"Can we not do this right now." I asked squeezing Emmet's hand.
"Ok but we are talking about this." Jasper said, and I nodded reluctantly.
"Let's go in." Emmett said, squeezing my hand.
'To the belly of the beast we go.' I thought sarcastically.

The Shadow Paradigm - Book 1: Project Orb Weaver

But when they encounter the mysterious Shiakar Paradigm Society, a clash of paradigms ensues. Although both groups are aiming to make humanity stand stronger, their ideals and methods could not be further apart. Between the trio's optimistic yet naive ideals, and the SPS's tried-and-true surgical methods, determining the answer which methods can better humanity is a struggle that both parties must resolve in their own ways... Welcome to the 7th revision of my 10+ years ongoing novel trilogy. This revision took out some flawed plot concepts to re-introduce a more down-to-earth, film noir-like ambience, where a battle of wits is what will determine the outcome. It also added instead more in-depth expansion into the lives and mindsets of the characters, especially the heroes (a missing factor in older versions). Third-view limited storytelling was also introduced more prominently over my favoured third-view omnipotent, with each chapters concentrating as much as possible on a single character's point of view instead of head-hopping. So I shall begin uploading the chapters as I finish them; they're edited as much as I can, but there'll most likely be some typos and mistakes. As always, I welcome your comments and critiques, and I hope you enjoy reading that story as much as I did creating it! A parting poem to introduce the story (translated from its original French version): Credit: Les Mots, Mylene Farmer & Seal Firmly, the sky writhes When a mouth begets a death There, I will give my life to hear you To tell you the most tender words When all becomes all alone I'll break my life for a song And to lives that stoop to notice mine I know I will say goodbye But a fraction of this life I would give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives You could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple If one swept the world away One could touch the universe I will tell you how the sun rose high We could with a word become one And for all those words that hurts us There are those that touches us Which illuminates, touches the infinity Even if nothingness exists For a fraction on this life We will give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives We could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple
