《Alpha Caine》Chapter XXII

Amira
"Brayden!" I run up the stairs to Caine's mansion into Brayden's arms and he wraps me in a bear hug.
"Hey, fireball. Miss me?" he chuckles.
"A ton. I have sooo much to tell you," I grin up at him and he smirks then turns to look at Caine and Tyson walking up the stairs. His arm is rested in a friendly manner across my shoulders. He sticks his hand out for Tyson to shake.
"You must be Tyson," he smiles and Tyson skeptically looks at his hand before glancing at me. When I give him a small nod, he grabs Brayden's hand and shakes it.
"And you are..?"
"Brayden, Caine's Beta," his signature friendly smile is still stretched across his face. Tyson nods. "You'll like me better than him," he winks jokingly.
"Fuck off, Brayden," Caine carries our suitcases past us on the way to our room. He argued with me through mind-link the whole way home about me moving into his room when we got back home. I lost.
Tyson smirks at Caine's words.
"Come on Tyson, I'll show you to your room," I grab his arm and drag him behind me into the mansion. After we go upstairs and down the hall, I open up a door, hoping that it's a guest room. I still haven't been able to explore the house that much yet.
To my relief, it is a guest room, with an en suite. Tyson whistles next to me.
"This place is huge," he looks around the room in awe.
"I hear the Malignity Pack's is bigger," I whisper to him and he turns to me wide-eyed. "I guess you'll have to invite me over once you take it back."
Tyson walks over and sets his suitcases on the massive bed.
"I'll let you get settled," I pull the door shut and make my way to Caine's room.
"Amira!" I hear Brayden yell my name from downstairs. "You have a visitor!" Confused, I turn towards the stairs. When I reach the balcony overlooking the entrance, I instantly hear a squeal. Brayden cringes.
"Jade!" I run down the stairs and give her a hug.
"You have so much to explain to me, you know that?" I giggle when Jade yells at me.
"Jade, as you already know, this is Brayden. Brayden, this is my best friend, Jade," I introduce them.
"Yeah, I got that from the squealing," Brayden smirks and grabs Jade's hand before raising it to his lips to lightly kiss it in a gentlemanly manner. Jade blushes and I roll my eyes.
"Come on," I pull her after me towards the gardens. When we make it to the hammock by the pond outside, we sit down.
"You bitch!" she hits me and I pull back. "How could you not tell me Caine is your mate? Caine!" she swoons after she says it and I, once again, roll my eyes. "Seriously, Amira, this is a big deal! You're the Luna!"
"You don't have to say it like that," I nervously rub my arm,
"Like what? The Luna, Amira! You're the Luna!" she throws herself back on the hammock. "And Caine is sooo hot!"
"Jade!"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you or anything," I hear a chuckle behind us.

"I think she's a beautiful Luna at that," I turn to see Caine coming up the path. Jade freezes at his voice, obviously fangirling inside.
He dips and places a light kiss on my cheek I freeze in shock at his openness. "And I appreciate the compliment," he smirks.
"I-I'm sorry, Alpha," Jade stutters and Caine laughs. He waves her off.
"No need for that, Caine is fine. Any friend of Amira's is welcome to call me Caine. What can I call you?" he sticks his hands in his pockets. His politeness is confusing me. Why is he being so nice?
"J-Jade," she stutters again.
"Pretty name," he smiles. "I actually came out here for Amira, but I see she's busy, so I'll have to steal her from you a different time," he turns towards me. "Brayden and I are running out for a few minutes with Tyson. You'll be fine here?" I nod and he leans to place another kiss on my forehead.
"I'll be home for dinner," he winks and exits the garden. When he is out of sight Jade gasps.
"Oh my- he is so sweet. You're so lucky!" I roll my eyes. "Seriously, Amira, how did you get so lucky? He's so in love with you, I'm jealous."
"He's not in love with me," I choke out.
"Oh please, he so is!" she looks at me wide eyed. "Has he not told you that yet?"
"Well, I haven't really let- like, I haven't-"
"Spit it out, Amira," Jade grows impatient.
"I shut him out. He didn't tell me at first, Jade. There was a period of time where I was going to reject him, but Brayden convinced me otherwise. I just recently let him inch his way further into my life and even now, I don't know how I feel about him," I confess everything to her. She just smiles and rubs my arm.
"He's your mate, give it time."
"That's what everyone says," I'm disappointed in myself for thinking that she would give me different answer than everyone else.
"Well, your feelings for him have been changing, haven't they?" My silence gives her the answer that she wanted. "Those feelings are just going to grow deeper, and then you'll love him as much as he loves you. And he does, I can tell." We sit in silence for a few more minutes.
"So are you going to show me around your new home or not?" I laugh at Jade.
"I don't know where everything is yet, but sure."
************************************
I huff and switch the channels as I glance at the clock on the wall next to it. Jade left over an hour ago and Caine said he'd be back by dinner, but it's 7:00 and he's still not here. I wonder where he and Brayden took Tyson.
Growing bored, I turn off the tv and make my way downstairs. On my way to the kitchen, I pass one of the maids.
"Excuse me," she quickly turns to me.
"Yes, Luna?" I cringe at the formality. Technically, I'm not Luna yet.
"Do you know where Caine and Brayden took Tyson?"
"The Alpha and Beta took the guest to the penitentiary," I scrunch my face in confusion before thanking her and grabbing a pair of Caine's car keys. What's his is mine, right?

After a short drive, I'm at the penitentiary and take the back door in. Caine's voice is the first I hear.
"Now I'm not going to ask it again," I peek through the small window on the steel door, my eyes barely reaching the bottom of it. Caine is wiping his hands on a towel, leaving red stains on the white fabric. Two of the pack's police officers are standing on the far wall and Brayden stands behind Caine with his arms crossed, a stern look on his face. Tyson is next to Caine, looking serious but there is a hint of scared in his eyes. In the middle of the room a young man is kneeling with his arms chained to the ceiling. His jaw, cheek, lip, and brow are all bleeding, and bruises cover his face. I lose my breath at the sight.
"Did Trenton kill his family, or did he not?" Caine gets level with the young man, who looks to be about his age.
The man glares up and meets Caine's eye contact before smirking and spitting blood to the side.
"I guess we'll never know, huh, slugger?" he winks and Caine stands up just to throw another punch at the man's face. His head cracks to the side and I gasp, my hand shooting up to my mouth as I try not to get caught.
"You're a young guy, I can feel the power in you. Let me guess, one of Trenton's higher rank soldiers?" The man remains silent, a slight smirk still on his face.
"Delta, actually," Brayden speaks up behind Caine and earns himself an angry glare from the chained man, who is apparently Trenton's delta. Caine looks to him in surprise.
"Trenton's third-in-command? In my possession? That's a lot of power that I could use," the smirk on his face is malicious, it makes me sick and I want to look away, but I can't. My body isn't letting me turn away from my monster of a mate.
"You have two choices here," Caine speaks up once again. "You can either keep this up and die, or you can help us and maybe earn yourself the position of Beta, when all is said and done." The man chuckles.
"When I got out of here, Trenton will be the first to know of what you're doing. Although I doubt what you say is true. Tyson died years ago. You have no proof, who do you think is going to believe you?"
"All those who hate Trenton like I do. They'll want Tyson too-" Caine growls.
"Tyson is dead! He was my best friend and he's dead! You're not going to find him," the man's voice raises to a yell and he glares at Caine who now has a shocked expression on his face. After a few seconds, the man looks back to the ground. "I don't know if Trenton killed him or not, but I can tell you that if he did, I'd gladly be the one to kill him. By killing his own brother, he took away mine."
Tyson stands wide-eyed next to Brayden. Everyone in the room is silent, and I try to calm my breathing, surprised that Caine has not yet caught me eavesdropping.
"Why did Trenton make you his Delta?" the man smirks at Brayden before his form starts to disintegrate and disappear. Caine quickly places a hand on the man's shoulder and his body starts to reappear as he snaps at him.
"Stop it, you dick!" the man's breathing becomes heavy and he starts to slump.
"Caine, stop!" Brayden yells and Caine removes his hand from the man's shoulder with a glare. What did he do? The man looks tired.
Tyson, who has remained silent next to Brayden, finally speaks up.
"Logan?" the man tiredly looks up to him with a confused look.
"Nobody calls me that anymore," his exhausted voice is scratchy.
"Yeah, it's your middle name. I'm the only one that ever called you that, because you don't like your first name, but you never told anyone that because you didn't want to hurt your mom's feelings. She is the most important person in the world to you, after your dad left."
"Was," Logan growls.
"You can make yourself invisible," Tyson continues, "You were my best friend. I remember you." Brayden looks to him wide-eyed.
"Come into the light so I can see your face," the man named Logan mumbles to Tyson, and when we walks closer to him, Logan's eyes widen in shock. A quiet gasp escapes my mouth.
I release my mistake when Caine instantly tenses. I'm frozen in place as he sniffs the air and turns to see me standing on the other side of the window.
"Amira?" That's my queue to turn and run out of the penitentiary.
"Amira!" I hear the door open just as I exit and run to the car, but I'm not fast enough and my body is roughly turned and pushed into the side of the car. Caine stares down at me as his hands firmly hold my arms to keep me in place.
"Why are you here?"
"What did you do to him?" I choke out, ignoring his question.
"Why are you here?" he asks more sternly this time.
"You said you'd be home by dinner," his anger makes me nervous.
"You don't ever, ever, come here. Do you understand me?" his voice is hard and serious, it scares me.
"You stole his energy, didn't you?" tears burn my eyes. "When you said you could absorb energy I didn't know you meant you stole it."
"Go home, Amira," Caine opens the driver's door and pushes me in. "We'll talk about this later. And if you go anywhere other than home, our home, I'll find you. You know I will."
"Don't talk to me like that, Caine."
"Home, Amira," he emphasizes the word and closes the door before I can object. He turns to go back into the penitentiary and as soon as he's out of sight, I break down, not caring if he hears me.

8.18 803(Un)Paralleled
Based on the novel by MGHT, Unparalleled. Things are not as they were. In this alternate story, follow our Hero(?) as he traverses the world. But, is this world really the one we know? I will be using MGHT's original story as a guideline, and applying my own touch to it. Due to there being a lack of information on the wider scope of things, I'll be throwing in things that may not adhere to the original author's plans. Then again, what fun is there in reading something that has already been done? Tags and genres stated are subject to change without notice, be it the addition or removal of tags. Cover art is a fanart I found online a long time ago. Character is Gyuki from Nurarihyon No Mago.
