《Alpha Caine》Chapter XIII

Amira
I feel my eyes widen at the size of Alpha Daniel's estate. Caine chuckles as he helps me out of the car. The warm, tropical air of the Whitefire Pack surrounds me, and I see palm trees in every direction. It's like we've entered into a whole new world.
Security lets us in easily, almost too easily. I guess Caine is an Alpha, but based on what Brayden said, it sounded like they didn't get along too well. I guess the top dog has to be available to any Alpha at any time, though, so we breezed right in. The mansion before me has to be at least three of Caine's put together.
"It's huge," I whisper in amazement. "Way bigger than yours."
"Well, you know what they say, the bigger the dwelling the smaller the swelling," he winks and I roll my eyes, disgusted by his joke. With a chuckle he speaks again, "Come on." He leads me up the stairs and I realize there is a man standing at the top, waiting for us.
"Alpha Caine," he nods at Caine and glances at me. His eyes rake my body and I squirm under his gaze. Caine protectively puts his hand on the small of my back again, but this time I'm so uncomfortable from the strong Alpha's gaze, I don't push his security away.
"Alpha Daniel," Caine's voice drops to his authoritative Alpha range that I've become so familiar with. My eyes glance back to take in Alpha Daniel, the most powerful werewolf known in the Northern Hemisphere.
His hands are tucked elegantly into his pressed, grey dress pants. His suit jacket matches his pants and a clean white shirt peeks from underneath with a black, silk tie bringing his whole outfit together. His whole appearance portrays his power and prestige. His dark blonde hair is styled up like Caine's and his screaming silver eyes contrast against his sun-kissed skin.
"To what do I owe the pleasure?" His foreign accent even makes him sound formal, and I'm immediately hypnotized by his soft yet powerful voice.
"Maybe if you answered your phone once in a blue moon you'd know," Caine says harshly and I pinch his side. He grimaces and glares at me.
"We were wondering if you could help us, sir," I manage to speak as I crane my head to look him in the eye. Although he's not nearly as tall as Caine, he still towers over me, so once again my short stature puts me in an awkward position. He studies me again before shooting me a small, kind smile and it's as if suddenly he had a new personality, one of someone you can trust. I instantly feel myself relax.
"Well, I'm not sure, but I can try. Come on in," he motions with his head over his shoulder and walks towards the massive front door with Caine and I following him. His large mansion fills me with awe. Silver is entwined throughout the ceiling, which adds to his powerful demeanor and looks like it belongs in a museum. The floors as well as everything else are so clean and pristine I'm afraid if I walk on them they will be ruined.
Alpha Daniel leads us up the marble staircase, down a few halls, and into his office. He takes a seat behind the large desk in an oversized chair.
"Take a seat, Amira," I pause, wondering how he knew my name. It doesn't surprise me, surely the most powerful Alpha in the Northern Hemisphere has enough connections to learn someone's name. I take a seat across from him and, after a moment of hesitation, Caine joins me.

"So why are you requesting my help?" Alpha Daniel folds his hands together and leans forward on his desk. I clear my throat to answer him, but Caine beats me to it.
"Recently Malignity spies have been invading the Obsidian Pack. I disposed of one on the morning after my enthronement and another a few days ago."
"So, what? You need help patrolling your borders?" Daniel leans back in his chair as Caine shakes his head.
"We actually need you to help us find someone: Tyson."
"Tyson Stark? He's dead," Alpha Daniel states the obvious and I jump in.
"Actually, sir, he's not," I pull out my book and slide it across the table to him. He flips through the pages and looks back up at me, a questioning look in his eyes.
"What is this supposed to tell me?"
"Well, you see," I stutter, so Caine helps me.
"She dreams of the future, it's one of her talents. She always draws her dreams. Those drawings show that Trenton never changed, his enthronement was a joke, and Tyson is the true heir of the Malignity Pack."
"And you expect me to believe that a boy who was killed years ago is still alive?"
"Yes."
"They found his body, Alpha."
"Probably the body of a rogue. It was so torn up, no one would be able to tell the difference."
"Trenton's eyes are red."
"Colored contacts."
"Trenton is the oldest son. The oldest son always takes his father's place."
"Unless they are rejected by the Moon Goddess. Tyson is the rightful heir to the Malignity Pack, Daniel. We're sure of it," Caine and Daniel bickered back and forth before Daniel looked back down at the book in his hands.
"So what if he is alive? He wouldn't be old enough to replace his brother."
"He turns twenty in a month and a half."
"So let me put these details together," Alpha Daniel leans forward again and rubs the stubble on his face, "you two came to my mansion to tell me that you think a boy who died when he was twelve is still alive and that he's the 'true' alpha of a pack that already has a changed alpha."
"I know it sounds crazy," I talk before Caine can. I can tell he's losing his patience, "but please, just believe me, sir." Alpha Daniel leans back in his chair again and raises his thumb to rub his lower lip. He intently studies the desperation in my face. Minutes of silence pass before he finally speaks.
"Okay," he sighs, "I'll help you. Where do we start?"
"Well, umm, see the thing is-" Caine rolls his eyes at my continuous stuttering.
"She thinks he's on an island." Alpha Daniel glares at him.
"Let me rephrase what I said," his jaw clenches, "I will help her. Not you." Caine rolls his eyes. What happened between these two? Why do they hate each other so much?
"Can you take me to the islands?" I decide to interrupt before things get out of hand. Caine looks at me with wide eyes. This is not something we discussed before we came here, though I had always planned on asking Daniel if he'd bring me there.
"Amira, I think we should discuss this," Caine says, but ignore him and continue to look at Alpha Daniel.
"If that's what you want, then yes. I will take you," I nod at Alpha Daniel in appreciation.

"Hold on, no you won't," Caine pointed towards Daniel before turning towards me. "We never discussed this."
"She asked me to bring her and I told her I would. I think she's capable of making her own decisions."
"I'm pretty sure I was talking to her, not you."
"I'm pretty sure she is an adult woman and is in charge of herself."
"This is between me and my mate, Daniel. Stay out of it."
"Last I remember you didn't return me that favor," Daniel glares at Caine, who returns an equally threatening look.
"You son of a-" Caine growls and I cut him off by clearing my throat.
"Caine, why don't we just go upstairs and talk about this," This time it is my turn to be ignored.
"You know I had nothing to do with that," the tension in the room grows as Caine stood and spat words at Daniel. Daniel stands as well and they glare at each other across the desk.
"She rejected me for you."
"But I didn't touch her!" the canines poke out from in between Caine's lips.
"Caine..." I warn, knowing how short tempered he is.
"You think I don't know the truth?" Daniel's whole body is tense and a growl escapes Caine's throat before he leaps across the desk at Daniel. Daniel snarls back as Caine takes him to the ground.
"Caine! Daniel! Stop it!" They continue to fight despite my effort to stop them.
"Caine!" Suddenly Caine crumples with a scream of pain.
"What the hell?" his voice strains as his jaw clenches. Daniel stares at him with a look of fear and shock before looking up at me. His brow furrows.
"Why are you doing that?"
"What?!" I scream, worried about Caine. "I'm not doing anything?"
"Amira! Make it stop!" Caine screams again as he rakes his nails across the ground.
"I'm not doing anything!"
"Amira!" Daniel rushes to my side, pulls my face harshly to his, and stares deep into my eyes with a forced look. He isn't saying anything but I can hear his voice repeating my name in my head, telling me to stop. He holds it as I stand in shock, and Caine's screaming stops behind us. Daniel pulls away and I stand frozen.
Caine pushes himself off of the ground, breathing heavily and walks over to pull me protectively into his embrace, glaring at the other Alpha in the room.
"Don't touch her," he growls.
"I got her to stop didn't I?" Daniel rolls his eyes and walks back behind his desk and I finally snap out of my state of shock.
"What the hell?! Stop me from doing my hat? What happened?" I try to push away from Caine, but he lowly growls and pulls me closer as he keeps an eye on Daniel.
"Amira, you caused Caine pain," Daniel sits down behind his desk. "Caine, you can let her go, I'm not going to touch her again." Caine hesitantly let me go and I move to sit back across the desk. He walks behind me and places a hand on my shoulder. I don't even try to shake it off.
"What do you mean I caused him pain?"
"I looked into your mind, Amira. I could feel your power. You didn't know you could do that?" I shake my head at Daniel and he sighs before he glances up at Caine.
"Alpha, I think we should talk," Caine squeezes my shoulder as Daniel talks to him.
"Amira, go upstairs. One of Daniel's servants will show you to our room."
"This is about me, I deserve to hear it."
"Amira," Daniel says my name and the silent order immediately makes me obey and move towards the door.
"This is low," I mumble as the door shuts behind me. Caine's authority was enough for me to handle, but at least I could fight it. Whatever Daniel just did to me... there was no way I was fighting it at all. It irritates me.
I'm lead to a room and left alone. With a frustrated huff, I look around the room and notice my bags sitting on a massive, luxurious bed. With an amazed look around the room, I notice that it's probably bigger than my entire house back in the Obsidian Pack. I also notice that there's only one bed.
Good thing it's huge.
After showering and changing, I begin to build a wall of pillows down the middle of the bed when the door opens and Caine walks into the room with a sigh. He turns to face me and his face drops.
"Are you serious? A pillow barrier?" I cross my arms at him. "I am your mate, Amira."
"Yeah, so?" I shrug and he huffs in irritation.
"I can't deal with this right now." Without another word he walks to the bathroom and shuts the door. A few minutes later I hear the shower running and I continue with my wall on the bed.
When I'm finally finished, I walk over to the coffee table in front of the plush couches and unzip my bag that I had set on top of it.
Pulling my sketchbook out, I flip to the last picture I had drawn, the one with Tyson in the water, fire shooting out of his palms.
I hear the bathroom door open behind me and turn around to see Caine stepping out of the bathroom drying his hair off with a towel. He has another towel wrapped loosely around his waist and again my eyes rake over his bare chest.
"Well this hasn't happened before," Caine says and my gaze snaps back up to his face to find that annoying egotistical smirk stretched across it.
I roll my eyes at him and turn away, only to feel his fingers graze my shoulder a few seconds later as he pushes hair away from my neck. An involuntary shiver runs down my spine.
I pull away, "Leave me alone, Caine." With a groan of frustration, Caine suddenly pushes me against the nearest wall, his hands firmly holding my hips. I gasp as his minty breath fans my neck.
"I will have you, Amira," Caine's hand slides from my hip where it is grasped underneath my shirt up my side. I shiver at the sparks that trail behind his touch. His lips are close to my neck, hovering right over that one spot.
That one spot that is meant for him and only him, but I still don't want to give it to him, I still hate him. Yet I'm not pushing him away...
His breath is hot on my neck as he whispers seductively in my ear again.
"I will have you, and you won't be so damn stubborn about it," his lips dip down into my neck and my body disobeys me as I shiver again. His voice is low and gruff once more.
"Alpha Daniel penetrated your beautiful mind, your thoughts, your heart. Something that belongs to me and no one else, but that's not happening again," his head switches to the other side and dips down once again. Still, I don't push him away, even though my mind screams for me to do it, my body won't obey.
"You'll be screaming my name so loud, you won't need a mark for people to know you're mine."
Suddenly all contact is lost as Caine pulls away and I try to regain what's left of my dignity as my body stays plastered to the wall.
"So," Caine looks towards me like nothing happened, "you want right side of the bed or left?"

Man of Earth
Magic is a terrifying force. Logic itself is subject to this energy, which is (logically speaking) impossible for us to comprehend. Every universe requires some version of magic to exist. That is, all but one. Our world functiouns based on a powerful and intricate net of laws that act independently from magical interference. The most notable of these is the human brain, which is capable of even more than its creator had thought possible. Naturally, this prompted the question: "How would a human fare in a world of magic?" Soon, there was a bet. Next, a human was selected. Finally, an odd young man with a strange black hat was introduced to his new world, and all restraints were removed.

The Hand of Sigmar. A Warhammer Fiction.
Adebar von Bolstedt was a normal young Aristocrat once. Third son of the middling von Bolstedt line of Altdorf, capital of the prestigious Empire at the heart of the Old World, but when a quarrel with his brother escalates he decides to leave his pampered home, and soon finds himself stranded in the countryside. When confronted about his presence he claims to be led by the God-King Sigmar, but with the name of the Protector of Mankind come his responsiblities. Soon Adebar finds himself tasked with ridding a town of a mad killer, and settling some lethal family quarrels.Word from the AuthorGreetings! The Hand of Sigmar plays out in the much beloved Warhammer Fantasy setting (owned, of course, by Games Workshop). Do not fret, however, as I've made it a point to make the story digestible even to the uninitiated, and maybe even be a good introduction to the setting. This work will be shorter overall, partly because its born out of a sudden passion, partly because I thought I'd try my hand at a more comfortable story than the grim darkness of the 41st Millenium (psychotic murderer and fraudulent holyman included). Depending on how this does and my time allows more adventures may be coming. While I cannot claim the places, concepts and gods etc. mentioned within as my own, the story and all characters flowed from my own fingers.
