《Farmer's Pampered Wife: Farming Crops To Raise A Bun》Chapter 16: Don't You Dare Try Scheming

Lin Xiaoye hurriedly smiled, "Of course, if there's anything good to eat, I'll definitely think of Grandma first."
Hearing this, Sun-shi rolled her eyes at Lin Xiaoye as she said coldly: "Don't you dare try scheming."
With that, Sun-shi turned around and walked out the door while swaying her butt.
Lin Xiaoye felt relieved and didn't think much about it. Suddenly, Huo Li carried a wild rabbit from the kitchen to the yard and was coincidentally seen by Sun-shi's sharp eyes.
Sun-shi immediately looked at Lin Xiaoye.
"You money losing thing, what are you still standing here in a daze for?
Lin Xiaoye felt that her head was about to explode, she thought that Huo was a godly assist. She didn't really expect him to become a pig teammate now.
Thinking of this, Lin Xiaoye hurriedly went forward, pulling Sun-shi to stand aside with a look of horror on her face.
She walked in front of Sun-shi in a deadpan manner and started to talk nonsense.
"Grandma, you still want to get that wild rabbit in Huo Li's hands?
Seeing Lin Xiaoye's flustered look, Sun-shi suddenly frowned.
"What's wrong with the wild rabbit? I can't even eat it? Hurry up and bring me that wild rabbit, I still have to cook for those losers when I get home!"
Lin Xiaoye immediately slapped her thigh and said anxiously: "Aiyo, grandma, don't throw away your life. How can you still think of eating that wild rabbit? Do you know how I managed to survive after jumping over the river this time?"
Upon hearing this, Sun-shi suddenly thought of this matter and retreated a step.
This money losing thing really came back to life. Didn't they say she drowned in the river?
However, Sun-shi was a shrewd person, how could she be tricked so easily?
She immediately rolled her eyes at Lin Xiaoye in disdain.
"Humph, look at your moral character. If I were Lord Yama, I wouldn't also take you in, you unlucky bastard."

Hearing that, Lin Xiaoye immediately jumped up and clapped. This time, it scared Sun-shi into a daze.
Lin Xiaoye said in shock: "Aiyo, grandma, you're really amazing. How did you know that after I died, I saw Lord Yama, who doesn't even have a face and mouth?"
After saying that, she immediately looked around, then moved closer to Sun-shi.
As for Huo Li, he immediately frowned when he saw Lin Xiaoye's surprised reaction, which caused Sun-shi to be stunned.
What was his unlucky wife up to now?
Lin Xiaoye hurriedly whispered into Sun-shi's ear.
"Grandma, you don't know, but the underworld is full of demons and ghosts, and there were also the two evil monster guards beside Lord Yama and the two deities, Heibai Wuchang, that specifically take people's soul, how scary is that?"
As soon as she heard Lin Xiaoye's words that sounded so impressive, it frightened Sun-shi, causing her entire face to go pale. She suddenly felt a wave of cold wind blow past her back and quickly stood to the side.
"You...you unlucky bastard, why are you telling me all this? I don't believe in those things."
Seeing Sun-shi getting scared to the point that she was even stuttering, Lin Xiaoye immediately smiled.
You still don't believe it? She was well aware that these village wives really believed in the theories of ghosts and gods.
You still want my rabbit meat? Even if she gave it to this old woman, she wouldn't be blessed, right?
Thinking about that, Lin Xiaoye immediately shuddered and jumped behind Sun-shi and shouted out loud. This scared Sun-shi to the point of shouting as well and she immediately ran forward a few steps, then stopped and patted her chest before turning around.
"Unlucky bastard, why are you shouting? Do you really want to call those demons and ghosts over?"
Lin Xiaoye was stunned.
"Grandma, why are you talking about demons and ghosts? Aren't I talking about the underworld? How could there be one in the middle of the day? If there really is one, then he must be here to capture those people who did evil things all day and had their minds in disarray. Could it be that Grandma really has a guilty conscience?"

She naturally knew what she had done. Sun-shi looked around immediately and felt a bit panicked. She quickly took a few small steps back.
"You money losing thing, stop saying crazy things here. I think this house of yours is not clean."
With that, Sun-shi looked around again. She felt that the house was filled with a dark aura and her entire body shivered. Then, she quickly left.
Lin Xiaoye didn't stop and shouted from behind, "Grandma, you haven't taken this rabbit meat!"
Looking at Sun-shi's desperate fleeing look, Lin Xiaoye truly felt overjoyed. She immediately clapped her hands and smiled happily. However, she didn't expect to suddenly feel a cold light coming from not too far away, causing her smile to freeze.
Huo Li was staring at her.
Lin Xiaoye smiled awkwardly, then patted away the non-existent dust on her body.
"That old woman is so superstitious when she's getting older."
"…"
After being frightened by Lin Xiaoye, in the next two days, Sun-shi stayed quiet for a while and didn't dare to come to her house again. However, something troublesome had arrived.
Although Sun-shi didn't come, she had to take care of her instant mother and sister. It wouldn't be good for her to blatantly send them food, right?
Today, Lin Xiaoye woke up early and made quite a few steamed buns. These steamed buns were big and were covered with white flour. Not only were they full, but they also tasted pretty good. They were really delicious.
The most important thing was that it was very easy to hide!
After making the steamed buns, Lin Xiaoye took her basket, a few steamed buns and then carried the shovel up the mountain. She didn't go with Huo Li today, mainly because she needed to steam the steamed buns and it took her some time.
Once she reached the top of the mountain, Lin Xiaoye came to the place where Xiaoya often cut pig grass. As expected, she saw a small figure squatting in the forest.
"Xiaoya!" Lin Xiaoye went up and shouted.
Just as she was about to happily hand over the steamed bun, she saw a pair of red eyes and a large palm mark on her face.
Immediately, Lin Xiaoye felt a pang in her heart.
It was not because of anything else but because of such a little girl, who was still young, yet she got beaten up. No matter who it was, they would feel sorry for her.
Lin Xiaoye immediately frowned: "What's going on?"
Xiaoya rolled her eyes at Lin Xiaoye in annoyance, then pouted: "What are you doing here? What's the use of telling you?"
After saying that, Xiaoya turned around and wiped the tears off her face and continued cutting the pig grass.
Lin Xiaoye's palm immediately tightened.
The original owner was truly devoid of conscience, conscience and conscience. Her brain was full of shit and she actually helped that wicked old woman deal with her own sister. It was really hard to tell the difference between them two.
It was normal for this little girl to misunderstand her. However, she had already decided that she would treat Xiaoya and her instant mother well in the future.
"Xiaoya, stop doing that for now. I brought some steamed buns over for you. While you're eating, tell me what happened. Also, why didn't Mother come over today?"

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
