《Farmer's Pampered Wife: Farming Crops To Raise A Bun》Chapter 4: He Cares About Her?

Lin Xiaoye turned her eyes and saw a man in gray clothes coming over. He had tied his hair into a ball with a hair band. He was quite good-looking and also had a hint of a scholar's aura on him. However, no matter how Lin Xiaoye looked at him, she felt that this man couldn't catch up to a scholar's elegance.
Is he the man that the original owner has always been yearning for?
Lai Wengui stepped forward and saw that she had taken off her socks and shoes in broad daylight. He immediately shrunk his neck and gave her a look of disgust.
"You come up quickly."
Lin Xiaoye was stunned.
Is he concerned about her? Didn't he scold the original owner yesterday, causing her to misunderstand and jump into the river for him again?
"Oh, wait a moment."
Lin Xiaoye went ashore, wiped her feet and put on her shoes before walking in front of Lai Wengui.
"About the previous thing…"
"Where's my ink and pheasant meat? Hurry up and take them out, my parents are still waiting."
Without waiting for Lin Xiaoye to finish, Lai Wengui immediately urged her. In the end, he looked through her entire body and even searched through the basin.
Lin Xiaoye was taken aback.
He wasn't concerned about her feelings, but it was all for the sake of eating pheasant meat?
What a weirdo. He's really a weirdo. The original owner still wants to fawn over him?
"Alright, stop looking for it. I've eaten the pheasant meat with Little Mochi and Huo Li today."
"You ate it?!" Lai Wengui shouted in shock. His eyes widened as lines covered his forehead.
Lin Xiaoye immediately shrank her neck back.
He looks pretty good, but his mask could still be pulled off, right?
"Yes, I was too hungry, so I ate it."
Lai Wengui immediately became anxious. He circled around her twice before suddenly raising his hand and pointing at her angrily.
"You said you..."
Wait, this ugly monster didn't send anything over today like how it used to be?
Lin Xiaoye saw that Lai Wengui suddenly stopped. She looked at his sneaky eyes and narrowed her eyes.

What other ideas will he make? Humph, I'm not that silly Lin Xiaoye in his eyes. Does he still want to eat pheasant meat? No way!
Lai Wengui suddenly smiled at her.
"Xiaoye, it doesn't matter. You really should eat more. Look at how thin you are, I really feel distressed. Alright, then remember to send it to me next time, or I'll wait for you at the same place!"
With that, Lai Wengui winked at her before turning around and walking away.
Lin Xiaoye was truly shocked.
Heavens, she had already said so. How could the original owner do such a silly thing? It turns out that she had been tricked by this man's routine. He really was a scum, a scum! This was like beating a stick to a sweet jujube!
Lin Xiaoye immediately felt that her three views were ruined. She quickly picked up her laundry and walked back.
She didn't find any herbs along the way, but since Doctor Sun and the others carried baskets on their backs, she guessed that there must be some herbs on the mountain.
Just as she was deep in thought, she saw Huo Li wiping his bow and arrows in the yard.
"Are you going up the mountain tomorrow?"
"Yeah." Huo Li replied without raising his head.
"Then when are you going? Tell me and I'll go with you." Lin Xiaoye smiled.
Huo Li's hand immediately stopped moving and he looked at Lin Xiaoye suspiciously.
"You want to go up the mountain?"
Lin Xiaoye nodded while drying her clothes: "Yes, remember to call me, don't forget."
Huo Li's eyes darkened. "What are you going there for?
In the past, she would never go to the mountains.
"Go and see if there are any good herbs and then we can sell them to replenish our family's income."
After she said that, Lin Xiaoye finished drying her clothes and entered the house with the basin.
Huo Li clenched his fist tightly.
Would she really care for this family?
Soon, the sky darkened and the surroundings became completely silent. The wind blowing the leaves and the barking of other people's dogs could be heard clearly.

Only several people in the village could afford to use a lamp, so every household was ready to go back to bed as soon as the sky turned dark.
Since she had to sleep so early, Lin Xiaoye was not used to it. She stood by the bed and looked at the old but seemingly solid bed and refused to get onto it.
Huo Li had already taken off his clothes and went to bed with ease, naturally Little Mochi was sleeping in the middle.
Lin Xiaoye tightened her grip: "Where do I sleep?"
Huo Li glanced at her and frowned slightly. In the blink of an eye, he moved to the side to give her more space.
Lin Xiaoye immediately felt a bit awkward, but she endured it. It was cold at night and there was only this bed in the house, so it wasn't appropriate for him to leave.
Alright, let's just sleep like this. He wouldn't do anything out of line at night, right?
With regards to this, Lin Xiaoye was rather at ease. After all, she wasn't even interested in the smell on her body or her face, much less a man.
Just by lying in bed for a long time, Lin Xiaoye was unable to fall asleep. Furthermore, after an unknown period of time, her stomach began to growl.
It was only then that she realized the people here don't usually eat dinner. No wonder her body was so thin. Also, what was under the bed? Just a layer of dry grass and a piece of cloth on top? No wonder she felt so uncomfortable sleeping.
However, she didn't dare to move, she worried that she would wake Huo Li up later.
Lin Xiaoye felt more and more that she wasn't living a human life anymore. It seemed like she needed to hurry up and earn some money. No, she had to hurry up and earn some money.
With that thought in mind, an unknown amount of time passed by before Lin Xiaoye finally fell asleep. When she woke up, the sky was still dark.
Rubbing her eyes, she heard a sound of friction not too far away.
"You woke up early."
Huo Li was already wiping the bow in his hands, preparing to leave. However, Lin Xiaoye didn't know that if it was a normal situation, he would have left a long time ago. He just stayed to wait for her.
However, he never would have thought that Lin Xiaoye would really wake up early today.
"Hurry up." Huo Li said coldly.
Lin Xiaoye turned around and looked at Little Mochi, who was sleeping soundly and immediately got off the bed. She quickly washed up, carried her basket and followed Huo Li up the mountain.
At this moment, the sky was still dark and there was still a chill even though they had just arrived at the foot of the mountain.
Huo Li walked ahead and glanced at her. The corners of his lips moved slightly.
"It won't be cold after a while."
"Alright."
Lin Xiaoye followed Huo Li up the mountain step by step. Only when they reached the mountain did the forest give out a faint light, allowing them to see the road clearly.
"Don't go too far. Call me if something happens."
Huo Li said.
"En, go ahead and do your business."
Lin Xiaoye flipped the basket on her back and smiled at him. She then turned around and began to look for herbs.
Huo Li looked at her back and couldn't help but tighten his grip.
She was indeed different. Could it be that she was truly awakened by falling into the river?
Regardless of her changes, if she could take good care of Nian'er in the future, he could rest assured.
Huo Li didn't think too much and turned around to catch prey.
Lin Xiaoye squatted down and paced around, looking at the grasses carefully. Suddenly, she realized that there were a lot of herbs in the mountain, but there were also a lot of weeds, so it wasn't easy to dig some.
