《Silent Couple// Toge Inumaki x Reader》Chapter 19: First Word👄

Festivals, one of my most favorite places ever, and now I'm here at the Annual Kyoto-Tokyo Sister School Festival, and as Megumi explained it is where the students from Kyoto and the students from Tokyo come together every February and enjoy a day together.
But as you know, the students from each school hate the students from the other. But we still had to in order to graduate...
So here we were in front of the festival's gate with Akito and Megumi glaring at each other, Toge-senpai beside me looking at the big sign, Maki-senpai and Nobara doing their thing, Panda-senpai talking with Yuuji, me standing behind Megumi because there were quite a few people invited, and the Kyoto students just standing there looking at us.
"Uhh hello? We're here too yknow!" a girl flying on a broomstick says.
"Oh, sorry we didn't notice you there, you're too irrelevant." Maki-senpai retorts while Nobara giggles.
As each of the students from each school find someone to argue with besides me and Toge-senpai since they didn't know he could talk normally and since no one noticed me yet,
'I feel like I'm the irrelevant one now' I sarcastically thought.
Toge-senpai looks at me and I look back at him, we both nod and run inside the gate leaving the arguing lot.
As the Kyoto and Tokyo student argues at the front gate Gojo and some of the other teachers come towards where they stood.
"Now, now children please refrain from arguing since I don't want to get scolded by Utahime-san again for not disciplining my students!" Gojo warns in his usual cheery tone with a hint of seriousness at the end.
Everyone instantly stopped at the hearing of the man's voice.
And at the exact moment, Utahime, Yaga, and Yoshinobu appear from behind Gojo.
"Oi, what's with all the shouting!?" Utahime asks with irritation evident in her words.
"Eto, we just had a misunderstanding! right? yeah..." Panda says with a please-just-agree voice

Fortunately, everyone caught on and agreed to his statement.
"We're missing 2 students..." Gojo points out.
Everyone looks around and notices that people are missing from the group.
"Only one, Inumaki, can't your sensei even count?" Mai remarks.
"Where's Y/n-chan?" Itadori asks no one in particular.
"Huh!? Where is she?!" Megumi frantically asked.
"Calm down porcupine, who is she to anyways? your girlfriend?" Mai curiously asks, "Is she tall and has a big butt?" Todo adds
"Does it look like he could get himself a girlfriend?" Kamo asks with a very stoic tone
"This bit-" Megumi starts but immediately gets restrained by Akito
"Please shut up and focus on finding my sister?" he says with gritted teeth
"Fine fine, and it's MY sister if you didn't know," Megumi says as he puts his left hand in his pocket and walks towards the entrance of the festival.
"OI! Where are you going?" Maki asks the retreating male.
"They probably already went inside..." he replies while raising his right hand as a sign of saying goodbye.
"Eh, Chotto matte! I wanna see N/n-chan too!" Akito says as he darts towards Megumi.
As I and Toge-senpai walk around the brightly lit festival he suggests we go to a long red and white tent-like booth and of course I agreed.
We enter the tent together only to see that it was just a pathway, we just shrugged and started walking across.
As we set foot onto the stone pathway music started playing, we both got startled by the sudden sound but quickly calmed down once we realized that it was just music.
As we went further in we saw a sign that said, 'Please step on the marked area and close your eyes. We looked around and spotted 2 marks with feet silhouettes on them
We stood on the marks and close our eyes curious for what was about to happen, a sense of presence behind me as the person places something on my head.

"Open your eyes" I hear Toge-senpai softly says, at first I was confused but still complied.
I open my eyes and see him with a pink tint and a sheepish grin and a bouquet of flowers in his hands.
My eyes widen as he hands me the bouquet while trying to cover his face with his free hand.
"Happy Valentines Day..." he greets, as the realization hits me that I forgot about Valentine's day.
I replace my shocked face with a grin, as I happily accept the flowers.
As I was about to pluck out one of the flowers Toge-senpai grabs my wrist and drags me through the exit, "Come, I'll show you something..." he says.
Once we exit the tent I feel the cold air hit my face as I inhale the sweet scent of pastries from the other booths close by, I look around and see that it was getting pretty dark.
He pulls me through the crowd still holding on to my wrist softly to make sure that I wouldn't get lost.
We successfully escape the massive crowd and head towards a fairly high hill that a couple of people were heading to, saying how excited they were about what they were going to see up there.
As we followed a cute middle-aged couple, Toge-senpai grasps my hand and takes me up higher on the hill.
He finds an isolated spot and points over to it, "Let's go over there".
We make ourselves comfortable as I wait for whatever was going to happen.
We sat in comfortable silence until Toge-senpai speaks up, "So, how are you today?"
I look at him confused but then realized he was talking about that incident. "I don't know" I lie in sign, I definitely know I'm not okay at all.
But I guess it showed as clear as day that I wanted to talk to someone about it, "Y'know it's not good to lie, especially to your senpai. I'm not going to pressure you into doing anything but seriously, if you want to cry on someone's shoulder I'm always here." he says in a worried but calm voice.
I couldn't take it anymore, I knew I needed to talk to someone but I never did, I knew I wanted to let my emotions out, but I kept them all locked up and I threw away the key in the ocean of my stubbornness.
I give in I let my emotion take control of me as I start to cry but they were all silent since I refused to let anyone hear my cries as I lean my head on his shoulder
"I know what you're feeling, I've been through the same, losing a loved one all of a sudden, with no one to talk to, but I don't want you to go through the same thing I went through, I want someone to be there for you at your times of need, I want to be there at your times of need..." he says
I don't know what feeling washed over me but I felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders as I did something I had never done in years, "Thank you... Toge..." I mutter with all the courage I had left in my body as my sobs lessened, and as if right on cue fireworks started going off in the distance.
you always do idiot!
of shut up will you Megumi! I could have you make out with Panda-senpai if I wanted to!
hah! not like you have the guts to do that!
bet.
sh*t never mind, don't!
pick on someone in your level next time
I could kill you in 3 seconds, powerless idiot
so can I. *hair flips away*

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
