《Silent Couple// Toge Inumaki x Reader》Chapter 18: Festival 🎎

TW: One sentence about suicide.
It's been 2 weeks since my uncle Ryo-kun died and it was pretty obvious I have not been coping with it well...
I had big eye bags under my eyes since I haven't slept in days, I couldn't keep up with my studies well AT ALL, I was turning really pale since I never really got out of my room unless needed to, and I have been crying at random times of the day.
Once I even considered ending myself, but then I thought that if I did Ryo-kun would have left me for no reason so that option completely left my mind.
My friends and teachers were all trying to cheer me up by trying to make me go out or to hang out with them but I would always turn them down, and thankfully they all agree and never push me to do something I didn't want to.
And to my luck today was the festival everyone was required to attend or you wouldn't graduate or something like that, got that info from Maki-senpai.
And the worst thing is we HAVE to wear a yukata, I've really changed... I would usually be ecstatic to be wearing something flashy and pretty but now... I am just downright gloomy.
I was looking through my closet looking for a good yukata to wear so I don't look like a deformed donkey.
As I was searching the deepest part of the closet I come across a dusty box, I pull it out and try to remove the dust only to see a piece of paper stuck to it.
Dear Y/n,
You're 15 years old right now, I know one day you're going to leave me and have your own life.
But I hope that won't be anytime soon, cause I love you...

But I also know that I might have to leave you too, it's getting worse, I wish I could tell you but I don't want to end up hurting you one day...
Well, I at least want to be there for your wedding, we did promise that when you were 8 but you just gagged at the thought of you loving some other guy besides me, of course.
But if you do get married, I want to walk you down the aisle and see you smile as I hand you over to the next man that will love you forever, because I know I will.
Anyways, you're too young to get married right now, so I bought you a yukata, not a wedding dress, that I saw while I was roaming around and it reminded me of you, your beautiful face and personality.
You should wear it when we go to another festival!
I hope you like it
Sincerely yours,
Your favorite uncle Sukuna
I quickly opened the box and saw the most beautiful yukata I've ever seen in my life.
I pull it out and scan it from up to down, it genuinely was beautiful...
As I stare at its beauty I unconsciously start crying.
Thank you Ryo-kun, I will treasure this forever...
Then I remember that I had to get ready for the festival, so I wipe my tears away and run into the bathroom, and showered as fast as I could.
I step out of the shower and carefully put on the pretty yukata that Ryo-kun got me, and did my hair into a secure bun
And to the easiest part, make-up.
When I lived with Ryo-kun I got really interested in putting on make-up since I saw all the pretty models on TV and I asked Ryo-kun to buy me my first make-up palette.

And from then on I got really good at it, once I even put make-up on Ryo-kun and it ended with lipstick and eyeshadow on everything!
I slightly giggled at the fun memories I had with Ryo-kun as I quickly applied on eyeliner and mascara.
And finally, I finished, I took a look at my reflection and lazily walked to the door.
I walked towards where Gojo-sensei told us to meet up.
Once I got there I saw everyone with pretty yukatas even Gojo-sensei.
Everyone quickly noticed me and turned their heads towards me. Everyone goes silent
Nobara was the first one to speak, "Y/N! YOU LOOK SO PRETTY!"
I hear Maki-senpai clear her throat as Nobara ignores her and continues to approach me.
"Y/n... are you sure you want to come?" Megumi asks.
I hesitantly nod my head and try to form a smile.
"Waaah! Your yukata looks so pretty, where'd you get it?!" Yuuji excitedly asked
I stay quiet for a good 3 seconds debating with myself whether or not I should tell them it was from Ryo-kun...
"It's from my uncle, Sukuna, as you may know," I signed
"Oh, sorry for asking..." Yuuji says as he slightly bows.
I wave my hands in front of me signaling that it was ok, then I notice that Toge-senpai didn't say anything.
I look around and everyone seemed to know who I was looking for, they point to one of the benches.
I look towards where they were pointing to see Toge-senpai trying to fix his outfit
WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FAC.
I quickly compose myself a walk towards him.
He notices me coming and quickly finishes fixing up, and smiles.
"Looking pretty as always.." he remarks.
I throw on an invisible smile on my face as he grabs my hand and drags me towards the van that we were taking to get to the festival.
I follow him to the van as he turns to me and lets me inside first, like the gentleman that he is, then we took off.
Short chapter sorry!
Although hope you liked the chapter!

8 85The Other - a (man) called Ted
A figure, large and present through time in ways most would not understand. Seemingly uncaring about all except his own principles, the one we refer to as the Other (for legitimate reasons, lest some accidentally call upon his old name), finds his way through life. Though refusing to claim the title himself, this (immortal)'s projects have begun to leave him behind, awaiting some accident to move him back into the world. - - - - - - Initially intended to be a novella, then a project to keep me sane in busy times IRL, this will be considered the roughest of drafts. Also, IRL may prevent me from regular updates after the backlog is done. Tags with a grain of salt, items may be mentioned briefly in story so far, or in chapters already written but not published. Content warnings just in case. Some perspective switching in the first several chapters. Legitimately though, in the first chapters an explanation is provided for referencing to the MC as 'the Other.'
8 159(Old) The Time of Night is Midnight
All she has known for all her life was to run, run from her problems. Until she ran into something that would be considered a wish granted. Midnight might have found someone who could love her for being the monster she is, a monster who was forced to kill. Sideswipe was one of the first to show her kindness and love her. Hopefully, his twin follows to or she'll be left heartbroken.
8 399The Wandering Scholar
Zhou Mingzie, A young Chinese American is suddenly brought into a mythical land, similar to China in many ways, but is most definitely not. This new world appears to contain cultivation elements like the Wuxia and Xanxia stories he read throughout highschool, but he can also gain Levels and Skills, I mean Paths and Techniques. Sure he is Chinese, but he grew up in America, so he doesn't want to ascend to the heavens and fight spirit beasts, does he? But Mom wants him to embrace his heritage more...jk...unless? [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Inspired heavily by The Wandering Inn and Beware of the Chicken, as well as cultivation novels in general, this story hopes to take a Westernish approach to the standard Cultivation approach, being more subtle and changing how it approaches the standard tropes of the genre, without abandoning them entirely.
