《Gifted • Inumaki Toge》f i v e

"Ugh, why couldn't you pair me up with Toge or something." Shiro grumbled. The two had just finished exorcising three mid sized curses near the Tokyo garden cemetery. I did all the work... "At least make an effort to look like your helping." She complained.
"Well, I did help" Satoru grinned. The two of them were now in a car heading to the high school near edge of Tokyo, where Maki and Yuuta were.
"All you did was stand there."
"You wouldn't have been able to do it without encouragement you know" He laughed.
"What did I do to deserve this." She sighed as she stared out the window. They have basically arrived at the school now. "Wow look at that, is that the special grade?"
The car stopped and from a distance, Shiro could see Rika obliterating the giant curse.
"Whew" Satoru whistled. "Intense... so this is the special grade cursed spirit, Orimoto Rika, in full gear."
The two opened their car doors and walked out of the car. "Sheesh, women sure are scary."
"Oh shut up" Shiro rolled her eyes, still annoyed at Satoru.
"Looks like they're about finished." She glances up at where Satoru was looking. The giant curse that haunted the school was gone.
And soon enough, Yuuta comes through the entrance with Maki on his back.
"Eh- Welcome back~" Satoru greeted as Yuuta collapses when he reached the entrance.
"You really gave it your all huh"
Shiro felt a buzz on in her pockets. She opened her phone and read the message she received.
"Sensei, Toge and Panda just finished up on their end" She looks over at the fallen Yuuta and Maki. "I'll just tell them to meet us at the hospital"
Satoru chuckles and waves the driver to grab Yuuta and Maki.

"By the way, you still owe me a strawberry cupcake." She complains."
Satoru doesn't say a single thing.
"Hello, don't ignore me."
He puts Yuuta and Maki into the car and "Check the back."
Shiro's eyes lit up as she hurriedly headed to the trunk of the car. "I could just heal them you know" She says as she opens up the trunk.
"Yeeeaaaah but you'd age them too you know" He says as he sits the two unconscious teens in the back.
"But I can reverse age them back" Shiro picks up the small cake box from the back of the car and closes the trunk. "It's not that hard."
"You just exorcised three curses yourself and with the extent of both of their injuries, it'd completely drain you." He retorts, adamant on not letting her heal her classmates. "Do you want to end up in the hospital instead? Just let Ieiri handle it"
"This wouldn't be an issue if you had just helped me exorcise them instead of watching on the sidelines you know" She complains as opens the door on the other side and sits in the car with her knocked out classmates. "If anyone asks, I did offer."
The ride to the hospital wasn't a long one. When they arrived, Panda and Toge were already at the entrance waiting for them.
"Yahooo~" Panda called out. "How'd it go?"
"Meh" Shiro sighed. "I'm tired"
"Sensei made you do all the work huh"
"Tuna Tuna"
It wasn't any new. Whenever anyone was paired up with Satoru, the results were usually quite similar. The students would do majority of the exorcising and Satoru would only step in if he needed too. It was good practice, but it was annoying. While the three were chatting near the side, Satoru was busy calling the hospital staff over to escort Yuuta and Maki inside.

"GOD! You wouldn't believe this man." Shiro exclaims while she huffed towards the duo. "While I was busy getting rid them, he and starts eating them at the sidelines!"
Panda and Toge couldn't help but chuckle.
"What's up with Maki and Yuuta?"
"Ah- I guess their curses were stronger than expected?" Shiro shrugs. "They're probably fine tho, just tired I guess"
"Come on, lets go in" Satoru says, waving them over.
Shiro only looks at her phone, checking the time before shaking her head. "You guys go first, I'm going to pick up some bubble tea." She smiles. "I hear Milk Dream releasing a new flavor today~"
"Kombu?"
"It's alright Toge, I can go by myself. You guys can go first"
"Chopped katsuobushi"
"I said I'll be fineeee"
Satoru and Panda watched as the two argued, both unsure how to jump in.
"Tuna Mayo"
"Ugh I just wanted some me time!" She complained.
"Me time?" Panda questioned. "You literally have me time all the time Shiro"
"Yeah just take him with you, he's just going to sulk the entire time if you go without him" Satoru chimed.
"Ugh, no bodies ever on my side" She glooms.
"Be honest Shiro, you just want to skip out on going inside the hospital don't you" Satoru accuses.
"A-Ah" Caught. "It-It's not that I want to be here..." She pouts. "I just don't like hospitals that much"
She crosses her hands across her chest as she shyly looks away. "You know how Ieiri gets"
Satoru rolls his eyes. Ieiri, one of the doctors of the Jujutsu Sorcerers and Satoru's former classmate. She had been especially curious about Shiro's ability and would constantly prompt her to hours of conversation when they meet.
"Sure sure, just make sure to call Maki and Yuuta later, and take Toge with you" he turns around and starts to head inside with Panda. "Don't want you to cause any trouble while your out."
"Ehehehe," She salute his retreating back. "I'd never~"
Toge only shakes his head and skeptically looks at Shiro.
"Whaaat~"
"Kombu"
"I don't cause trouble!"
"Salmon Salmon"
"Seriously!" She argues childishly. "I just want to enjoy my free time! Is that a crime~"
Toge only sighs as he starts to make him way out to the streets. To some degree, he understood. After all he was by her side for the majority of her childhood and understood her desire to experience the things she never got to experience or see while she was younger. While other families would take their children to amusement parks or the zoo, Shiro's father thought it was a waste of time. Time that should be spent on training or studying. A common theme in her childhood.
"Wah don't leave without me!" Shiro runs after him and grabs his arm. Toge instantly felt his cheeks heat up. This has been a common occurrence recently and it seems that everyone but Shiro noticed.
Even Panda brought it up while they were together earlier and honestly Toge isn't really sure about how he feels for the black haired beauty. Specifically Panda had asked him whether or not he liked Shiro, romantically. But he couldn't give Panda nor himself an answer.
He was unfamiliar with the term love and feelings. Maybe due to the fact that he really had no other friends other than Shiro growing up, not that he minded.
He knew of familial love, and the love that stems from friendships, but is that what he feels for Shiro? Toge shook his head to rid himself of those thoughts and focus on retreating the blush that covered his pale cheeks, praying that Shiro wouldn't notice.
Maybe I should ask Panda more about it later.

Life of a Grimoire
Being a book is not a great experience. Can I see? No, I don't have eyes. Can I touch anything? No, I don't have limbs. With any luck, someone will pick me up and read me, at least. Hopefully sooner than later...
