《Inumaki Toge x Reader》37

waking up as you heard the birds chirping, you opened your eyes slowly. you sat up a little straighter while still being on inumakis lap.
inumaki however was still sound asleep. he felt you shift under his touch and tightened his grip on your waist to pull you closer.
you looked up at him and smiled, he was still deep in his sleep, you turned your head to look at the time and saw it was already 8AM.
raising your head up from his chest and putting one hand on his shoulder, you started gently shaking him awake. "toge-senpai." you added on.
he groaned and his eyes fluttered open, looking at you and then smiling. he leaned forward and wrapped both his arms around your waist again.
the corners of your mouth curled upwards at the motion and you lifted your hand to lay it on his head. stroking his hair as you spoke up, "good morning."
he nodded against you and said, "kelp." he greeted while bringing more distance between you guys to look at you.
"tuna mayo?" he asked you while leaning his back in the wall. you looked in front of you and spoke up, answering him, "yes i can leave now, we can finally all train together again." you said and tilted your head at him as you neared your sentence.
but then you heard footsteps coming from the hallway to the infirmary. you froze in your spot along with inumaki, not daring to look back at the door.
with widened eyes you heard the door slide open, hearing a familiar voice. "l/n, this will be your last check-" he spoke and stopped mid sentence.
slowly turning your head to where your doctor was standing, you smiled sheepishly and held the back of your neck, opening your mouth to let out an "ahaha."

inumaki who had a light pink blush on his face spoke up too, "... kelp." he said unsure. you looked at the doctor to find his expression, but he had none. he looked at the two of you with a blank stare.
he raised his hand to look back at the documents he was holding, "looks like youre doing okay." he said while avoiding your gaze. "youre free to leave." he continued and walked back out of the room.
both you and inumaki blinked at what just happened as you guys were still processing it. inumaki was still in a daze as you looked up at him. you quickly spoke up, "i will be right back." you said as you got off his lap.
he followed your figure with his eyes, you walked with your white sweatpants and black shirt over to the table next to your bed to grab your letter.
slightly rushing, you walked over to the sliding door of the infirmary and opened it, you left in an instant. now standing on the other side of the door, you looked left and right to see where kaito went.
luckily he wasnt far yet, you jogged slightly to catch up to him while calling out to him, "kuboyashu, wait up." you said and now fully stood behind him.
he stopped in his tracks and turned around, you were slightly panting, you really had to work on your condition again. extending one of your arms towards him, you handed him your letter.
"can you please bring this to the post office." you said as you were catching your breath slowly. he held his arms beside his body, not taking it.
he spoke up, "im not your doctor anymore, l/n." he said as he ran his hand through his black hair. you snapped your head up at him and realized it too.

not knowing how to respond to that, you tried to convince him nevertheless, "i dont think its a good idea to have a recovering patient out of school grounds." you retorted slowly.
he sighed and extended his arm to grab your letter, "im going to the post office anyways." he breathed out annoyed. he held the letter close to his face, reading the back of it.
"for your mom?" he questioned as he read the name of the receiver. it wasnt very common for a jujutsu student to seek contact with their parents with a letter unless it was an emergency or such.
you nodded your head at him and spoke up, "havent spoken to her in a while." you told him and started nervously fidgeting your fingers.
he spoke up sternly, "i understand." he said as he saw you didnt want to talk more about it. he turned his back at you and continued walking, "have a nice day." he said.
"you too, and thank you for the treatment." you spoke up and turned back to walk towards the infirmary. as you walked back to where inumaki was, you started thinking.
your thoughts took control over your mind, absent minded walking through the hallway, 'it would normally take half a day, 12 hours, for the letter to reach her.' you thought.
'then she will write a letter back, which would take around 2 hours, then 12 more hours for the letter to find you.' you continued thinking. you took in account that she could be gone from home but you knew her all to well.
she wouldnt leave her house unless absolutely necessary, that is why you reasoned that you would get a letter back in about one day.
you smiled at the thought and questioned why you didnt do it sooner as you were anxious for her reply. 'it was probably because of that nightmare anyways.' you retorted to yourself.
now standing in front of the door of the infirmary, you wasted no time in sliding it open. you spotted inumaki who was walking around the room with a cup filled with water.
seemed like he was already over the shock, he noticed you in the door frame and spoke up, "salmon cod roe?" he asked you as you suddenly rushed out of the infirmary not too long ago.
"i had to give a letter to kuboyashu, he is going to bring it to the post office." you said as you walked over to your bed to gather your stuff.
he followed you as tou grabbed your belongings, "mustard leaf?" he said as he slightly furrowed his brows. you looked at him and spoke up, "oh nothing serious, just my mom." you reassured him.
he looked pleased with the answer, although he still wanted to ask you why exactly, but he left it to ask for another time.
you had all your stuff scraped together and put them in your backpack, "well lets go then." you spoke up as you smiled at inumaki over your shoulder.
he followed you to the door and nodded, "salmon." and the both of you finally left the infirmary, walking towards your room and have breakfast.
