《Inumaki Toge x Reader》21

that one special grade curse was standing in front of you once again. about a solid two meters between you guys.
inumaki protectively reached out his arm in front of you and would do anything to make sure youre okay, you had the same thing with him. you wouldnt let that curse even lay a finger on inumaki.
before you even had a chance to rush towards the curse, it started speaking again. but this time you could understand it. "my name is hanami, you two dare oppose me?"
at a loss of words you stared at the curse. you could now suddenly understand its language. even though the special grade was still talking gibberish, it got automatically translated in your head.
you looked at inumaki to see if he heard it too. he looked at hanami with widened eyes while frowning his eyebrows. which was a sign that he understood the creature as well.
his arm was still reached out in front of you and he pushed you slightly back to retreat. but you wouldnt budge, and instead spoke up.
"and what if we oppose you?" you said with attitude, you were already done with this curse and it didnt even do anything yet. folding your arms in front of your chest, you looked up at the special grade curse.
who could you blame honestly, you hated all curses ever since that incident with yuuji.
the curse looked down at you with their branch like eyes and spoke up, "oh, so you are?" with a bit of interest laid in their voice.
inumaki on the other hand snapped his head back at you and wished you would just retreat with him.
he wanted to speak up and tell you how this curse was way too powerful to fight but you were already concentrating your shockwave in your legs.

right after he opened his mouth, you jumped up in the air. inumaki followed you with his eyes but snapped back as he saw the creature move too.
hanami was bending through their knees, ready to jump up towards you but inumaki wouldnt let them. he zipped his collar fully down and said, "dont move." with a slightly raised voice.
just in time, as you were in mid air, making a front flip so your leg was out to drop kick hanami with your heel. you rushed down with the gravity and came closer to the curse who was standing completely still.
just before your heel came in contact with hanamis head, you shockwaved it even more.
the impact almost hurted your heel, you felt a wave of cold wind come from where your heel had made contact with hanamis head. not even a second later, your shockwave started doing damage too.
you were squatting down and immediately jumped back towards where inumaki was standing. you looked up after exhaling deeply and widened your eyes.
there was no damage taken. only a small crack which wasnt even 5 centimeters big, right after you witnessed the miniscule crack you made, it already regenerated.
you took a step back and realized how far that curse was above your level. inumaki who already realized that now grabbed your wrist firmly and tugged at it, in hopes you would run with him.
without hesitation, you turned around and ran from the curse with your senpai. your mind was exploding from the questions, 'where did this thing come from? is it alone or are there others? if yes are they just as strong as this one?'
you tried to order your thoughts properly but it wouldnt work, you seemed lost in your head and inumaki had noticed it too while running. he looked at you while still holding your wrist and yelled out, "l/n, get a grip!"

right at that moment, all your thoughts left your head and you could think properly again. this was the first time inumaki had used his technique on you and you were glad it was for your own well-being.
not too much later, an idea shot in your head. you looked behind you and saw the curse was not too far away from the two of you, but not too close either.
you figured you had enough time to execute your plan. running closer towards inumaki, you grabbed his arm which was closest to you and swayed it around your neck.
grabbing him by the waist, you readied your technique in your legs and launched yourself along with inumaki towards a certain roof.
the two of you flew through the air, wind piercing your face slightly at the speed you guys were going. you were about to get pulled down by the gravity and tightened your arm around inumakis waist.
"brace yourself." you spoke out while the two of you rushed downwards, towards a red tinted roof.
he did so and pulled you even closer to him. not much later, the two of you fell down on a roof. inumaki rolled forward as a proper way of breaking the fall. you on the other hand landed with both your legs on the roof.
your legs wouldnt break from the impact since you still had the slightest bit of cursed energy flowing through your legs, making it like a protective barrier. the roof was slightly cracking beneath your feet.
rushing towards inumaki, the two of you didnt have any time to spare. suddenly you two were overshadowed by something. you looked up and saw thick roots from the ground forming above you.
it was still far away from you but it was getting closer at a fast rate. you figured that this was work of the so called hanami. inumaki and you were both glad you didnt actually fight it sine its power seemed to be immense.
helping inumaki stand up, the two of you started running again, your footsteps clashing with the roof and you looked down besides you, towards the open place as you saw two people staring at you.
"y/n and inumaki-senpai?" you heard a familiar male voice call out. it was megumi, he was still fighting kamo like when the two of you parted ways. you went to fight mai at that time and megumi went to fight kamo.
the thick branches and roots from the tree above you started forming in a spear like way, it went right above your head and rushing towards the open place with kamo and megumi.
inumaki who was in front of you looked back to his side where you were and spoke up while still running, "l/n, salmon cod roe." he said as he wanted to catch your attention.
you looked at him and he brought his hands up to either side of his face, motioning you to cover your ears. and so you did. you brought your hands up to your ears and did your best at letting cursed energy flow through your ears as it would cover them even more.
letting cursed energy flow through your ears was difficult as you didnt had any training with it. but you still managed. you nodded at inumaki and he looked down towards the two people in the open place.
as he continued running, he opened his mouth and yelled out towards them. "run- a-way!" he said with a loud voice while his hair was flowing in the wind.

The Chronicles of Artharian Dagworth
Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them. I plan to write 2 to 3 chapters a week, 2000-4000 words each. Might change as I get more experience and depends on my free time. Cover image from the colections of getwallpapers.com

HUD: Wargame (Sci-Fi GameLit)
★★★★★UNFRIGGENBELIEVABLE!!!!!! "HUD: Wargame is a sci-fi GameLit worth reading." -TienSwitch ★★★★★Rock-solid FPS GameLit. "Nic - the main character - is an ambitious, hyper-competitive perfectionist, and the story fortunately handles him correctly in that it does not push these traits too far." -Akaso ★★★★★This is a good one! "This is one of those stories where you read the first few paragraphs and can just tell that the author has the chops to tell a story. It's engaging and the rules are well thought out and clearly explained. The action is punchy and exciting. Anyway, read it." -HonourRae In the future, everything is a game.
