《Inumaki Toge x Reader》9

after making sure nobara was alright, the 6 of you all headed back to jujutsu tech with the stuff from the vending machines.
you and nobara went to the common and put all cans you have bought on the table in the middle of the room. meanwhile the others were outside, training for the last time as the exchange event was now only one day away.
nobara stretched and you only noticed now that her uniform had all kinds off holes in it.
with confusion in your voice you asked her, "huh, nobara, what happened to your uniform?" she took a look at her uniform and then looked at you. "oh well, that is what mai's technique is." she told you.
"its basically a gun with cursed energy or something." she said as if it was nothing. you snapped your head back at her and raised your voice a little. "a whole gun and youre not hurt?!"
she laughed at your sudden change in attitude and explained. "it werent real bullets, probably rubber ones or something." she continued as she broke eye contact and furrowed her brows while thinking hard about mai's technique.
you sighed in relief. "ah im glad." you spoke eventually. you saw she was breaking her head on it a little too much and decided to reassure her. "dont worry about her technique too much, seeing youre left unscathed, it means its not completely harmful."
she looked back at you and smirked. "thats right, besides i didnt even fight back." she eventually laughed out. thinking that she could be a decent match for mai.
your little one on one moment was broken when maki slid the door open. "l/n are you coming, inumaki wants to train with you." she looked at you. then looked at nobara, "oh and nobara its better if you change your uniform, just put this one in front of my door, ill make sure they'll fix it for you."

maki finished and nobara beemed at her. "you'd do that for me maki-senpai?" she smiled out. "of course, i have to be a great senpai to my kouhais." maki smirked while now leaning against the door frame with her arms folded in front of her chest.
nobara waved you off as you went outside with maki. you realized you were the only first year on the training grounds now since megumi was at the infirmary too.
after walking to the fields, maki and you parted ways too as she went left to train with panda and you went right. you both needed enough room to fight so eventually choose two different training grounds.
you approached inumaki as he was crouching with his back turned to you. you wondered what he was doing and you tried getting closer to him in the most quiet way possible.
now standing right behind him, you peeked over his shoulder to see what he was doing. he noticed your sudden appearance and hid whatever he had behind his back and put it in his pocket.
he was now standing straight, facing you, but wouldnt meet your eyes. so you spoke up while laughing at how flustered the boy seemed. "inumaki-senpai what was that?" you asked with amusement in your voice.
inumaki walked past you to the middle of the training grounds while saying, "bonito... flakes." seeing he was out of his comfort zone, you decided to leave it alone. for now.
you followed him and stood in front of him. your face filled with determination as you genuinely thought you had a chance of defeating your senpai right now.
the both of you got into a fighting stance. "alright lets start then!" you said excitedly. you knew inumaki was not a short range fighter but you knew he was fairly skilled in almost everything. before you rushed to him, he unzipped his turtleneck in case something would go wrong.

thats why you lunged towards him and did the exact same thing you once did in combat against nobara. you were now standing right behind him and punched him, not too hard, in the back.
you had added some cursed energy in your fist earlier which meant you had shockwaved him. he got send flying forward but stopped it by crouching down and rolling on the ground, breaking his fall properly.
all he could do was fight now. he wouldnt use his cursed speech as the combat was meant for fighting. he could win the fight in a single second if he included his cursed speech.
he stood straight again in the blink of an eye and rushed towards you, he was faster than you thought and it caught you off guard.
he punched you in the stomach and placed his leg right behind yours. this time you lost balance which resulted in you tripping over his leg and landing on your back.
it was a smart move to be honest, you tried to do this with nobara too but failed as you were too slow. you placed your hands on the ground and concentrated your technique in your feet.
you launched yourself backwards while standing on your hands, making yourself do a backflip and stood again, facing inumaki.
he didnt give you any time to stand straight as he lunged towards you, striking you left and right, but you managed to defend yourself by putting your arms in the right position.
you grabbed his arm and turned around, flipping him over your back and hearing him gasp as his back made contact with the training fields.
not wasting a single second, inumaki grabbed you by the collar and pulled you down with him. he flipped himself while doing so and now you were the one on the ground.
he straddled you with his thighs while sitting on you. to make sure you wouldn't
pull anyhing else, he grabbed both your hands and pinned them down on each side of your head.
you tried flipping him over to land on top of him but he was too strong, you couldn't focus your technique either since you didnt know what to do.
he was so close to you, noses almost touching, his hair falling on your forehead and feeling his hot breath on your face. after giving up on flipping him over, you looked in his eyes. only to see he was already looking at yours.
you got really flustered at the position the both of you were in now, blush on your cheeks and on the tips of your ears. you tried to avoid his gaze but his eyes were so beautiful.
the wind blew his hair to the side slightly and you could feel it move on your forehead. you scanned his features, taking your time. you were glad he unzipped his turtleneck earlier on.
both of you were panting less now since it had been a while since you fought now. you noticed he was blushing as well as the tips of his ears and his cheeks were tinted pink.
after knowing him for 2 months now, you have gotten fairly close to him. training together and him teaching you more and more combat moves. sometimes even having dinner together.
and then, he got slowly closer to you, slowly closing the distance between the two of you. you knew what would come next and didnt budge as you wanted it to happen too.

There, he is changed and his fate diverges from what should have been his death. Now he must forge his own path in a world of great beauty and power, where death lurks around the corner and battles between veritable gods are fought. Where nations clash and ancient beings destory civilizations on whims. But unseen cogs move under the surface, events transpiring beyond simple understanding. Strange and powerful items called Artifacts have started to reappear across the land of Auren, empowering their wielders far beyond what cultivation can give. Chaos is brewing, and Kardin must survive it, all while trying to attain vengeance and understand his strange and anomalous Katra. ***Current Schedule*** I am currently releasing 1 3,000(Sometimes I end up writing waaaay more) word chapter halfs every week. If there is not some sort of notice as to why I have vanished, then I'm probably dead. Let's hope I don't die then, eh? *Ducks under flying knife* I own this cover, put my own blood, sweat and an hour of my time into it. Ahahaha! This story is inspired (I stress this word, as because most of the story is different) by Will Wight’s Cradle. I highly recommend you read it! (Please for gods sake, if you have something to say, please do it in a curteous fashion. I don’t need any more maniacs flying at me and trying to stab me with sporks, I am already insane enough to fill that role.*Winks*) **What is This Story?** Think cultivation mashed with western fantasy, put into a pot to boil and then drunk while it's pipping hot. All the while a mad man(me) cackles insanely over the pot, stirring. It draws from xianxia lightly, which means no exasperated angry young masters. No “genuis” or “prodigy” MC, one that is not OP, or anything of the like. If you don’t like cultivation novels, this might still be up your alley. MC focuses on “Life Shaping”, see poll 2 for more Info. Warning! If your are squeamish, that gore and traumatizing content tag is there for a reason. I shall dive into both bloody and disturbing scenes and the questionable ethics of manipulating life, and some of it won’t be pretty. With a dose of realism added in. I do add my own evi- I mean despic- no, sorry, interesting twists aswell. >:) Also, I HATE info dumps! *Steps out of the way of a charging semi* Still not dead! Arc 1 (Kindling): Chapter 1 - 13 Arc 2 (Metempsychosis): Chapter 14 - 29 Arc 3 (???): Chapter 30 - ??? A disclaimer, I am new author and am still feeling out my limitations. This story is my hope of bettering my writing skills and to have fun. Buckle up and enjoy the insane journey that is Katra. (Pronounced as cah-tra)

Wrong Side of The Severance
In the waning times of a costly war that spanned several firmaments, one world that was supposed to be cherished by the gods was cast to the wayside, and from everyone’s minds. This world - Berodyl - had flourished under the tender love of the gods for millennia… but no longer. Berodyl stood ready to aid the gods in their strife, but when the time came, the armies of this world never heard the call. They never even saw the battlefield. No. Instead, they found that, once the war had begun, the hierophants no longer heard the whispers of their sacred deities whom they had served so faithfully; only silence now filled the halls of their temples. Some even came from beyond Berodyl’s firmament to take to the sides of those who would fight for the gods. Alas, they soon found themselves stranded in a land abandoned— now, too, abandoned themselves. Now there is but one question weighing down on everyone: can a world such as this - a world once loved, now alone - survive with nought but its own? For an outlander such as Livia, the question seems nearly impossible to answer. The first book of The World The Gods Forgot.
