Three days later...

"Lex I'm about to go on break...you want me to bring you something back?" I asked walking over to her station.

"Yea just get me whatever you get I'm booked and I'm not gone have time to stop and get food." She sighed applying a frontal to one of her clients.

"Okay Mari is picking me up." I replied.

She smirked but nodded her head.

"So how you know my best friend?" Teyana asked.

I slowly turned around and squinted my eyes at her. "Long story."

"We got time." She shrugged.

I bit down on my lip and shook my head.

"We don't have nothing cause we not about to discuss it. It ain't your damn business anyway." Alexis snapped.

Jamari had walked in with Raelyn laying on his shoulder with her fingers in her mouth.

"Hey baby." I cooed walking to her.

"MOMMY" She smiled reaching for me.

"Damn I guess it's fuck me." Jamari frowned.

I chuckled and gave him a hug.

"When you had another baby?" Teyana asked making the whole shop stop.

"When you gone get out my business?" Jamari mugged her.

"Mommy." Raelyn tapped me pointing to Alexis.

"You want Lex?" I asked walking us over to her.

"Hey my booba." Alexis grinned taking Raelyn from me.

"MAID MAID." Raelyn shouted.

"Awww" Some of the clients cooed.

Somehow Raelyn thinks that Arielle is Ariel the mermaid because of the similarity in name. So everytime Raelyn wants Arielle she'll said "maid."

"She at school stink, you can see her tonight." Alexis chuckled.

"So Jamari you got two baby mama's?"A girl named Jessie asked.

"DAMN CAN YALL GET OFF MY BROTHER DICK." Alexis mugged.

"Reagan you ready?" Jamari asked.

I nodded my head and took Raelyn from Alexis.

"See you in a hour." Alexis mumbled. I could see that she was irritated at this point.

"Okay." I replied.

As I started walking to the door Raelyn started whining and reaching for Jamari.

"She just gone forget about me." I pouted handing her over to him.

"You cute when you pout." He smirked.

I blushed and rolled my eyes.

"Where are we eating at?" I asked softly.

"Wherever you and babygirl wanna eat at." He shrugged.

"Can we get Soul Food?" I cheesed.

He glanced at me and cracked a smile. "I gotcha."

"MOMMY EAT EAT" Raelyn shouted from her car seat.

"We bout to eat in a minute." I replied looking back at her.

Jamari pulled up to the soul food shack and came around to open my door.

After he helped me out he grabbed Raelyn from the back.

"She always in somebody arms. She acting like she don't know how to walk." I mumbled walking in front of them.

"FatFat somebody sounds jealous." He whispered into Raelyn's ear causing her to dramatically laugh.

I smacked my lips and waved them off.

"Welcome to Slap Ya Mama, how may I serve you?" A older lady greeted.

"What you want mamas?" Jamari asked looking down at me biting his lip.

I blushed and then squinted my eyes at the menu and smiled when I saw something I've been craving.

"Fried Chicken , Mac and Cheese , Cabbage , and Cornbread." I grinned.

He shook his head and told the lady my order.

"Oh order two of my meals cause one is going to Lexis." I remembered.

He nodded his head and told the lady his order.

"What's for the baby?" The lady asked.

"She can just get some chicken tenders and mac and cheese." I responded.

After Jamari payed for our food the lady went to the kitchen to fix the plates.

"So what y'all doing for the rest of the day?" I asked Mari.

"I was gone take her to the park but I was gone ask you first." He shrugged.

"That's fine, but sometimes she gets overheated and it can cause a nose bleed so just make sure to take her some cold water. Oh and please make sure she don't take her shoes off she has a habit of doing that." I chuckled.

"Gotcha." He nodded.

"Order number 24!"

Jamari put Raelyn down so he could grab the food. As soon as her feet touched the ground she threw a tantrum. She clung to his leg and cried her eyes out.

"Raelyn stop it." I said sternly picking her up.

"Mommyyyy." She cried reaching for Jamari.

"What did you do to my baby?" I frowned.

"She just like me, this our baby." He smirked.

"Here hold the food." He said reaching the food to me.

I rolled my eyes and we exchanged the food so he could get Raelyn.

When Raelyn was back in his arms she calmed down and put her fingers in her mouth.

"See uh uh yall starting to spoil her." I frowned.

"So." Mari shrugged.

Walking back to the car, Jamari opened the door for me and then jogged back around to his side.

He put Raelyn on the armrest so she could eat her food.

I started cutting up her tenders and making sure that they wasn't too hot for her to access.

Once she was situated I started eating my food. As soon as I took the first bite I moaned in satisfaction.

"O-M-G, this is so good."

"You so extra." Jamari laughed.

"So the food ain't good?" I asked him.

"Hell yea, but ain finna do allat moaning and shit." He smirked.

"You're an asshole." I frowned.

He bussed out laughing.

After he calmed don his face went back to his natural mug.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked wiping my face with a napkin.

He nodded for me to continue.

"Why did you help us that night? It's not like I'm being ungrateful or anything because I really appreciate you and your family, but how come you took us in?" I asked

now playing with my fingers.

He cleared his throat and put his food on the dashboard.

It was silent before he spoke up. "Honestly I can't even tell you why..I do know that I when I saw you out there it did something to me. Then I guess it was just God's plan or some shit. Shiddd I saw you at Mcdonald's, from right then and there I knew I wanted to see you again. I just didn't expect it to be in a alley. All I knew was that I wanted to help you. From when I first saw you at that restaurant I saw the pain and hurt in your eyes. And honestly I still see it. Seeing you in that alley just confirmed that it was meant for us to see each other or some shit. Behind all that pain and hurt though I see a beautiful ass independent ass woman who's doing a damn good job at raising lil mama. I knew that I had to be the one to fix you and mend you. Ion even so this simp shit but I like you, shid ain scared to admit it either."

I didn't even know that I was crying until he wiped a tear from under my eye.

"I-I like you too." I grinned.

He reached across the seat and kissed my lips. I happily kissed back but we both decided to pull away since Raelyn started whining.

"She a hater." I mumbled.

"She get it from your li jealous ass." Jamari smirked.

I smiled and blushed looking down.

"Aye what I tell you bout that shit." He said seriously.

"Sorry." I smiled looking at him.

"Let me get you back to work before your boss start blowing my phone up." He stated.

"Okay."

He buckled Raelyn in her car seat and then drove off back to the shop.

I can't believe we just kissed...
