"Where are we going?" I asked confusedly when she passed the KING INC, driving past without slowing down at all, she didn't answer me and instead continued driving silently, putting her sunglasses on and answering with a smirk after a while.
"We're going shopping babe," I confusedly turned to her, noticing her pressing the child lock slowly which made me roll my eyes at her, it wasn't like I was going to jump out of the car.
You sure about that?" My conscience perked up
Definitely.
"But aren't we supposed to got to work?" I asked when she tsked at me disappointedly, shaking her head in discontent.
"I just gave you a paid holiday b*tch, enjoy it while it lasts," she answered pulling her Panamera into the parking lot of the mall, swiftly killing the engine and getting out, I did the same.
"But—" she interrupted me before I could complain.
"Do you want to make Xavier suffer?"
"Yes,"
"Do you want him near you?"
"No,"
"That's what I thought, now follow me," she hushed me for once and all, her heels clicking on the hard floor in sophistication while I not so elegantly followed her into the Versace store. The employees were very humble and ready to help her in finding whatever she needed.
"Good evening Ma'am, what would you like me to show you?" The girl asked her politely, while I stood behind her calmly for her to get what she wanted, I was a little confused when she turned to me and smiled vibrantly before pulling me closer to her by my waist.
I gaped at her in shock while she just smiled at the girl, "I want something sexy for my girlfriend, would you mind showing us some dresses, something elegant with a tinge of sexy, you know what I mean right?" She winked at the staff and the girl literally blushed before nodding and flying across the room in delight. If my jaw wasn't gaping wide enough before it did now.
When the girl finally turned around the corner I hissed at her in anger, "Are you crazy?! Do you know if she as much as gossiped or posted about this, I'm doomed!! my fake engagement that we are trying to keep real is going to end up in a total disaster! Why did you do that?!" She smiled before casually stepping away from me.
"Chill babe, nothing's going to happen, he will not let it." She stated, plopping down on their couch and pulling out her phone.
I still couldn't understand her.
"But why should I try the dresses? You do it!" I said huffing and sitting down as well, my face twisted into an irritated one.
"You'll thank me for this," I ignored her very smug and awful excuse and silently pulled out my phone as well.
The girl was back within ten minutes, clutching a lot of branded dresses, smiling at Diya who just went with the pretense and leaned towards me, kissing me on my cheek and softly whispering like she was in love with me.
"I'll be waiting for you," I smiled, nodding at her and shyly averting my gaze from her to complete her lie. I stood up and followed the girl to the changing rooms, I chose one of the dresses before entering inside to change, my phone dinged as with her message.
Diya: That was not so bad, you know what it was actually fun, let's keep it up for a while!

I lifted my eyebrow at her message and responded mischievously back. 'Is there something you want to tell me? Specifically about your sexuality,'
Diya: Like how I f*cked Aiden yesterday? yet again.
I dumbly stared at her reply, she didn't just tell me that she f*cked Aiden after threatening him to sign away his shares. I had long forgotten about the dress, hurriedly texting her back, 'He agreed to have sex with you after what you did?'
Diya: Considering him barging inside my penthouse, yelling at me for everything I did and then literally ripping my clothes away, I would say yes, he was quite sure about f*cking me and I couldn't pass on a good lay, can I?
I banged the door open in shock, rushing back to her in my own clothes, I haven't even touched the dress and there she sat, unaffected as hell.
"You didn't!" I shrieked in shock, as much as I appreciated her helping me against Xavier I couldn't let her play with Aiden's feelings. He was already in deep for her.
"W-What happened?" The girl assisting me asked nervously from behind me, Diya stood up from her seat, exhaling deeply and then smiling at the staff again.
"Sorry about the scene, she just found out I was about to propose to her," she said to the girl, how the f*ck she got this phenomenal at lying? "Babe, don't be angry, I wanted it to be a surprise," she said to me before whispering some non-existent shit into my ear to make it seem like she was explaining and then she literally shoved me towards the direction of changing room yet again, glaring when no one was looking at her and mouthing me to get changed.
She's acting weird.

I was typing on my laptop when someone knocked, diverting my gaze from my work I asserted them to enter, the door opened and a man entered, I was familiar to him but I couldn't remember his name.
"Good morning Mr king," he greeted me professionally, his stance confident as ever, he was good at this, I nodded my head in acknowledgement to him.
"You are?" I asked when he introduced himself.
"I'm Cameron Ramsay, secretary to Ms Shikahawat, Mr King,"
"Okay," I answered, going back to typing, not bothering to ask what the heck he wanted since I never called him, if he wanted to say something he should, I wasn't polite enough to ask him.
"Umm—Mr King?"
"Yes?" I replied without glancing at him.
"These are the contracts and files you asked Ms Shikhawat to prepare yesterday," he said, gently placing them on my desk making me frown at his words.
"Where is she?"
"Ms Shikhawat is trapped somewhere important, sorry about her absence Mr king, but she told me to relinquish these for you," he asserted me, only making me scowl.
"By relinquish does it mean you preparing all this as well?" I asked grimly and he nodded his head unaffected by my glare.
"And why would you do so?"
"Because she's my boss and it's my job," he completed while smiling, this man was too good to be true.
I nodded my head before standing up from my chair and smiling tauntingly at him, "Then let's go and meet your lovely boss,"
Without waiting for him I exited my office, striding in the direction of Ms Shikhawat's office, I glanced at Shana's office but it was empty which only meant they were both together. I flung the door open without bothering to knock only to meet with another empty room.

I scowled and glanced at my watch to see it was already 11 in the morning, they should have arrived at 9 am and there was not a single sign of both of them, I felt anger slowly rising in myself, she is taking this all as a joke, I won't tolerate her playing around in my company.
I rounded the desk which was covered with several contracts and files and comfortably settled on her seat, deciding to wait for that b*tch to arrive, Cameron rushed in a while after, nervously looking at me and then at the office.
"Why don't you keep me company while we both wait for your bratty boss?" I asked sarcastically and he sighed before taking the seat on the couch, opening up his phone and texting someone, preferably his boss, before shoving his phone back inside his suit jacket.
It was almost 12 when sounds of laughter reached the room, I felt my heart swell at one particular of them, the door opened with both of them entering side by side.
"I will love you for the rest of my life—"
"Stop!" Shana giggled, while lightly kicking Diya dramatically, later just snorted before starting once again.
"Your eyes are the only one I want to see whenever I wake up everyda—"
"Gosh! you're so embarra—"
"Hope you both got everything you wanted," I stated making Shana jerk in surprise, some of the bags slipped from her hands and dropped on the floor in reflex.
"What the f—" she stopped herself from cursing once she eventually noticed me and Cameron sitting inside as well. Both of them were not even visible under those loads of bags they were carrying.
"I'm so sorry Ms Shikhawat, I tried to make Mr King understand," Cameron was on his feet already, helping both of them with their bags and settling them down on the spare couches.
"It's alright Cameron," Diya smiled politely at him, if her attitude wasn't so shitty then I might have considered her worthy of this responsibility. I kept staring at Shana who never even glanced at me, keeping her attention on thanking Cameron for helping her.
I avoided him and thanked Cameron for helping us, Diya was plopping her bags down on the couch when Xavier's grim voice once again resonated making me shiver in anxiousness.
"Must have been exhausting, roaming around in that huge mall for hours and shopping around, wasn't it?" I remained silent while Diya amusedly turned to him, her eyebrow raised in surprise to his taunts while his finger twitched in frustration.
"Diya—" my attempt to stop her from saying something triggering went out of the window.
"I'm sorry Mr king, but I think you're misunderstanding me, let me clarify something for you, I took the position, yes. Do I plan to take up my responsibilities? Absolutely No. So if all your questioning is done, you're free to go, I would like to have my office to myself." She taunted back in the same tone as his, glaring down at Xavier who was leisurely sitting on her chair.
I saw his lips slowly turning into a smirk as an unknown expression overtook his features, he turned his attention to me, looking me dead in the eyes and slowly ordering.
"My office. now." I stilled in my position at his obvious warning when he stood up from her seat and was about to exit when Diya stated sternly to him.
"She won't go,"
He stopped dead in his track and turned, his gaze swirling with fury settling on her and she visibly staggered for the very first time since she met him, her hands that were crossed under her breasts untangled and dropped beside her when he closed towards her, towering over her good 5'9" height.
"Say it again." He dared her and she gulped before opening her lips to reply but nothing came out of her mouth.
"I've said it before and I'll say it again, don't come between me and My Shana or you won't like what I would do to you for having her," he grimaced down at her, not touching her but it was enough to make her involuntarily step back, he saw her compliance and glanced at me before walking away.
I released the breath that was restricted in my throat and slowly nodded at Diya in consolation who was shaken by his intimidating warning before rushing out of there to go to him.
He was standing in front of his desk when I entered his office, his back facing me, I closed the door behind me. "Lock it." I tensed at his order, possible scenarios passing through my head, I sucked a deep breath before hesitantly locking the door and turning around to face him.
We were silent for a while when he turned around, his gaze settled on me in bitterness and annoyance.
"You told her," it wasn't a question, he put two and two together, I remained silent and he nodded his head to himself in amusement, silently strolling towards shelves to pour himself some whiskey, taking a sip out of his glass.
I flinched and my eyelashes fluttered when the glass whooshed past and shattered behind me, the glass shards crunching down on the marble floor, I stepped back when he came closer to me in rage, his hands clutching my wrists tightly as he jerked me closer to him.
"Was I not clear enough when I told you that I will tell the FBI about her?!" He yelled at my face and I closed my eyes in apprehension, his face was close to me that I could feel his hot breath on my cheek, I wanted to create some distance but he was clenching my wrists in a death grip.
"Are you f*cking listening to me right now?!" He snarled once again and I felt my lips tremoring at his raised up voice, he never raised his voice at me except that day and he was doing it again, I was getting bad vibes.
"Are you?!" He jerked me to get a reaction out of me and I nodded while staggeringly exhaling my breath.
He pulled away from me and I visibly felt relief rushed through me but it was short-lived until his next words settled to me. "You knew of consequences when you told her, so what's going to happen from now is your fault," he stated and I frowned until I saw him pulling his phone out of his suit jacket. He called someone and soon the call was received.
"I have something mind-blowing for you detective—" I didn't need to hear the rest of it, leaving my anxiousness behind I rushed to him in fury, yanking the phone out of his hand and throwing it across the room before he could say anything.
"How dare you!" I snarled, my hand working on its own, and I only realized it after his face jerked in the left direction due to impact, deafening silence followed the action.
I slapped him.
My eyes dilated a little when I saw his jaw clenching and unclenching, he kept his face away from me for a while and I stepped back immediately, shocked by my own reflexes.
I shivered when he slowly turned to me and smirked, stepping towards me while I staggered back in the attempt of keeping distance between us but he yanked me to him by my arm and shoved me into his desk, my back impacting with the desk and an excruciating pain passed through my body before he settled his arms on either side of me.
"That's the best you could do?" He taunted me before shoving himself more into me.
"You know I could do more than that," I whispered back, my reply coming out meek than I anticipated.
"You think you can stop me with your childish strategies?" I felt insulted when he underestimated me.
I gave him a small smirk before closing into him, "Was Vladimir Ivanov childish enough for you or do you want me to bring someone else?" My smirk vanished when he clutched my waist in a painful hold and ceased my movement at all.
"Don't f*ck with me right now baby," he stated and smashed his lips onto mine in a painful and punishing kiss, making it pleasurable on the base of hatred and resentment, his lips bruising mine in anger and disdain, I tried to wiggle away but he clutched my hair in a painful grip in his hand to stop me from scampering around, I hissed into the kiss when I felt the metallic taste of my blood reaching my taste buds, his tongue forcefully entering my mouth, marking and terrorising me when I didn't want him to.
By the time he separated I was gasping for air, his hands tugging my hair to make me gaze at him, I glared at him in hatred and his eyes blazed with the same intensity as mine.
"I'm not going to be threatened now! You can't make me stay! I don't love you! I hate you!" I yelled in frustration and he growled over me.
"SHUT UP!!" my resistance died in my throat when his voice reached me, his furious gaze met mine, his eyes were blazing red in outrage.
"You'll do as I say!" He yelled and I anyhow shoved him back, gaining my voice back I screamed back.
"I will not!!"
He was silent for a while and so was I, my chest rising up and down as I gasped for air, it was overwhelming contending with him, his eyes were the same as before but his outraged expression slowly turned into a more calm one. I huffed in relief inwardly when his gaze softened and he slowly stepped towards me but I was so wrong to think I could tame him in his high.
He smiled at me and I exhaled deeply before starting, trying to make him understand. "Xavier plea—" I jumped a little when he tossed the glass vase on his desk down and it shattered beside my feet into million pieces.
His smile slowly turned down when he threw his laptop into the shelves, the beverages bottles came tumbling down, and smashed one after another. I scaredly stared at him havocing his office around, he picked up the chair before banging it down on the coffee table, ravaging it as well.
I felt a trail of blood flowing down my arm and I was sure I got a cut from him throwing stuff around, he didn't care if it hit me or not, he was going around like he was having one of the anger episodes, crashing everything and anything that came into his hands.
"Xav—" I tried but before I could complete he threw another vase down in force, its shards flying around, I subconsciously raised my hand to cover my eyes and face from getting hurt.
His knuckles were bleeding and the wound on his chest had opened again, smearing his white shirt to crimson red but he didn't care, throwing all the stuff around until there was nothing left except his desk, that was too left out because I was standing near it.
"You can't just—" I started slowly again, contemplating that he was done subduing his anger but I shrieked when he pushed me back on the desk, my back resting on the desk and my heart thudded in my ribcage in panic, I tried up to get the hell away before he could do anything but I was too late.
He hovered over me, his hand shoving mine down on the desk, restricting any type of movement from me, I felt a tear slip through my eyes due to panic swirling inside me.
"Leave me!" I yelled in aggression but he lashed out at me back in trance.
"Shut the f*ck up before I make you!!" I stopped my resistance, silently sobbing underneath me, ceasing myself from provoking him further.
"I don't care if you don't love me!!" His hold on my hands was tightening by the seconds.
"I don't care if you hate me either!!" I silently listened to him, whimpering under him in dread.
"I won't sacrifice what's mine! Not even fo you!" He yelled, spitting out every word with hatred, he was really angry with me telling Diya, I suddenly felt guilt pass through me when I didn't even do anything wrong.
"You don't have a choice! You either listen to me or I'll chain you up in my penthouse against your will until your pretense is crumbled and you'll be begging me to stop the pain!" He yelled and I shivered at his rough voice, I nodded my head to stop him before he repeats something horrendous, I can't go through it again.
