"Do you have to go?" Diya inquired worriedly, while I packed my stuff, yes I was moving in with him, but I knew he had the upper hand in this issue so I was obliging without any fight, I need to know my options, my strengths and weaknesses if I want to return the favour to him and this move-in was my weakness.
"There's no way around this, and he'll be here any minute to pick me up so we're out of time too," I answered zipping my luggage up, she was sitting on my bed, an annoyed pout plastered on her face, she was worried but she was sadder considering she'll be living alone in this apartment when I was this close to her, we have always done things together, been together, it was disturbing leaving each other in the time of help and it was most certainly for her when she knew how much trouble I was in.
"I can talk to him." She suggested, bidding her head in agreement on her own, sighing I turned to her.
"Threatening doesn't count as talking, moreover you've already annoyed him enough, I don't want you to get in trouble as well." Slipping into my heels I brushed my hair before tying them in a ponytail, my outfit consisting of all black, black jeans with Noah's black hoddie he left here for me and black leather boots, nothing special.
I heard her mutter something under her breath, it didn't sound very pleasant, when I perplexedly asked her what did she say, she waved it off saying it was nothing, shrugging at her unusual behaviour I picked my suitcase up from the bed.
"Did you arranged the meeting I asked you to?" She asked again and I smiled sheepishly at her.
"I forgot." Rubbing my neck in embarrassment, her face turned into an unimpressed one.
"I'll arrange it for you, don't worry," I reassured her, it must be important for her since she asked me twice to arrange this meeting for her. I smiled upon seeing her nodding her head.
"Shall we go downstairs?" I asked and she nodded again, wearing her slippers and following me to the front door, I dragged my luggage out of the front door and she locked it behind us before we strolled to the elevators, both of us falling into a comfortable silence.
The ride to the ground floor was silent, a frown permanently itched to her face, I observed her stance and figure.
"You have put on some weight," I stated casually but her reply was almost immediate, her face showing absolute horror.
"I did not!"
"If you say so." I joked playfully.
"You have the audacity to joke around at this moment." She pouted sadly and I felt a flicker of a hurt sting into my heart at her worried expression, this is the most concerned I have seen her in a very long time.
We both quieted down once again, exiting the apartment building, and waiting for him, he called a little before saying he'll be here soon, and soon enough his sleek black Buggati La Voiture Noire roared closer to us, stopping in front of us and an even more sleek Xavier stepping out of driver's seat, passing his fingers through his thick hair. I could feel Diya's intense glare passing me and directed on Xavier's head.
"Good morning ba-"
"I suggest you back the f*ck off." Her voice deadly calm, directed to him from behind me, so fierce that Xavier stopped in his track.

"She's my fi-"
"Did she stutter?" I backed her, he closed his eyes in response to getting interrupted twice in a row, I bet he isn't used to being talked back to. He stepped back with his hands in the air with mock surrender.
"Why don't we already get going?" He asked irritated, glancing at Diya for mere seconds.
"Yeah, you definitely should, remember to enjoy her temporary stay." She retorted calmly.
I smiled at her, hugging her close to me, she returned the favour thousandfold, patting my hair during the hug, we separated from our bear hug, I told her to eat regularly and she nodded, her gaze flickering to xavier in the glare often.
"Call me if he tries anything and I'll have him castrated," she whispered to me and I chuckled while nodding, grabbing my luggage to place it in his trunk, he opened it and offered to do it for me, I ignored him and placed my babies in there myself.
"Do you have clothes in those?" He asked casually and I huffed before opening one of them, letting him see what's actually in there.
Boxing gloves, hands wraps, wrist wraps, garters holsters, compression holsters, thigh holsters knives of all kinds, Machete, Bowie knife, bayonets, karambits, switchblades, throwing knives, push daggers, nunchucks, mouth guards, and last but not the least my babies 'heels'.
He was silent beside me, I closed it again, and snapped the trunk close before making my way to the passenger's seat, Diya waved me farewell as he silently got into the car and ignited the engine and driving us back to his penthouse.
"What was in the other one?" His voice was a tad bit lower than usual.
"You don't want to know." I asserted
casually, keeping my gaze out of the window, away from him.
The rest of the drive was silent, none of us trying to start a conversation, me minding my business and him occasionally glancing my way, driving the car looking like that, before I would've been sweating just by looking at his veiny hands and him but now it wasn't exciting anymore.

We both got out of his car as he stopped it in front of the entrance of the building of his penthouse, but just as I exited I felt like being watched, my skin felt prickly, I did a quick analysis of my surrounding but found nothing odd, shrugging slightly to myself I focused my attention back to Xavier.
He had already pulled my luggage out of his trunk, gazing at me with a look of worry itched to his face.
"What's wrong?" He asked worriedly, I looked at him for a while before swiftly ignoring him and putting my sunglasses on, leaving him behind with my luggage and making my way to the entrance. Cause why not? He wanted to help me, and his employees should see how his fiáncee was capable of having Xavier Damon King as her attendant. Shouldn't they?
A smirk contoured my face as soon as the sound of my luggage being dragged reached my ears, it was impossible to resist the urge to see the impossible sight behind me, turning my head around I frowned when I didn't see what I had expected. Instead of Xavier, my luggage was being carried by one of his bodyguards while the rest of them encircled him.
"Right this way Ms Rajput." I was pulled out of my glaring session by a deep male voice, I turned to see a man wearing the same clothes as the rest of the bodyguards.

When Xavier reached me he gently entwined out hands, smiling heartily and guiding me to the private elevators, his bodyguards behind following us, he couldn't see my eyes since I had sunglasses on but I can see his, they were glowing. The receptionist congratulated us for our engagement, I felt bad when Xavier ignored her, so instead, I thanked her for both of us. Her face shined at my reply. She probably didn't expect to get a reply back from Xavier, let alone from his profound fiáncee. Her smile was contagious and I felt my lips curl into one too.
Just as the private elevators opened, we both entered inside, his bodyguards left us alone giving us privacy which I didn't need at all. The second the doors were closed I pulled my hand away from him. He noticed my fallout with a grim expression but decided against commenting about it.
"You should greet back," I said casually, shoving my hands into my hoddie's pockets and looking straight ahead.
"If I go around greeting everyone back who greets me then I'll probably end up using my lifetime's worth of words in a day." His reply was curt and straight to point.
"Are you alright?" He asked again, slightly turning in my direction.
"I'm fine."
"How womanly thing to say." He mumbled under his breath and I snickered before removing my sunglasses and turning to him with an annoyed expression.
"You want to hear something manly, well,—goddamn! How will she look while sucking my c*ck, I want to f*ck her senseless, oops, gotta go home early, need a quick f*ck from my wife or fiáncee in your case, damn I'll shove my c*ck so deep down her p*ssy that she'll beg me to f*ck her again." I intentionally deepened my voice, mimicking what I was hundred per cent sure goes around in men's heads. He was looking like he was stopping himself from laughing, I didn't notice myself including hard hip thrusts in my performance as well. He cleared his throat to stifle his laugh.
"Men don't think about sex 24/7" he concluded, passing his fingers through his hair.
I scoffed before sarcastically retorting. "What an asshole's thing to say."
He turned to me amusedly and I glared at him, my lips twitching in irritation, tilting my head at him in mock I swiftly discarded my hoddie, leaving myself only in my sports bra, my biceps bulging and flexing for him to see, I tied it around my waist. He was focused on my body rather than my hands that were fisted and ready to punch him in the face.
"Hence proven, you're shit," I declared and he diverted his eyes back up to my face. His eyes glimmering with a little lust and I mentally rolled my eyes.
"Put the damn hoddie back on." He ordered and I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Your bodyguards are hot. I know they won't mind." I said joyfully, retying my ponytail into a bun. It was obvious he didn't want someone to eye his prized possession, too bad for him.
The elevators opened at the topmost floor, his bodyguards lining up, it was a little weird for him to have these many since he never liked anyone breaching his privacy, I smirked before swiftly untying my hoodie and throwing it at one of them, he shockingly pulled it off his face, hesitantly glancing at Xavier behind me, I smiled mischiefly at him.
"Would you mind carrying it up for me—" I trailed to get his name, he replied in a deep voice, he was the same one who guided me at the entrance.
"Luke Warner, Ms Rajput."
"Thanks, Luke. And you can call me Shana. All of you can." I said smiling at the queue of men trailing along with the front door of his penthouse.
"No. You'll all behave professionally with her." Xavier's grim voice sounded from behind me, and I smirked at my new friends.
"He'll not mind, or if he did I'll make him agree tonight." Luke cleared his throat in embarrassment and I turned to see Xavier glaring at me, I pouted confusedly before asking.
"What? You want to do it now?" He charged in my direction, picking me up in his embrace and hurling me in bridal style, resisting me from saying anything more, I encircled my arms behind his neck to prevent myself from falling, smiling innocently at him, he scowled at me, I heard his bodyguards trailing my luggage behind and Luke carrying my hoddie with him.
When we were finally in, Luke followed us inside with my luggage and hoddie, leaving his other fellows outside. Xavier placed me down on the couch, I whirled my attention around, taking in the billion worth penthouse, everything was in place.
"Baby?" His voice pulled me out of my admiring session.
"Hmm?" I hummed in question.
"This is Luke Warner, as you already know, head of my security team and he'll be responsible for your safety and requirements when I'm not around." He introduced me properly to Luke, I smiled extending my hand in his direction, he took it and greeted me professionally as his employer wanted.
"Nice to meet you, Ms Rajput."
"Likewise," I said softly tippy-toeing and placing a gentle kiss on his cheek, he was a little stunned and I smiled at his shyness. He was cute, the sound of Xavier's clearing his throat made Luke step back immediately.
"You may go now," Xavier said, and Luke nodded before swiftly exiting the penthouse, leaving us both to privacy, the second he was out my smile vanished and I grabbed my hoodie before placing it back on.
"I'd like to go to my room now," I murmured, dragging my luggage to me, he eyed me delicately, his eyes soften upon seeing me quiet, I was urging to lock myself away from him but he was delaying it purposely.
"Why don't we have lunch first?" He asked hopefully and I shook my head in a no, I wanted to freshen up and sleep. I was exhausted of all this, of him. I needed a break.
Why can't we just leave each other to ourselves, we both know this engagement is a sham and nothing else. He was trying his hardest to not lose patience with me and I was trying my hardest to make him see that we are just not meant to be. It's over between us, he can do nothing that can change my mind and make me forget the things he did to me, how he assaulted me, how he threatened me into an engagement I never wanted.
"Look I know this is hard. But if you just help me a little, just a little, I know, no I believe we'll work this out. I'm the same Xavier Shana, just give me a chance baby. Please." He pleaded and I miserably stared at him, his clothes sleek as ever, him handsome as ever, but the one I loved was not the one to destroy me and yet this man did.
"No, you're not," I whispered staring at him, a sad smile reaching my lips. I inhaled heavily before asking him again.
"My room, Xavier."
He nodded his head repeatedly to himself, like making himself understand that I wasn't rejecting him, his eyes clouded with exhaustion, while his body didn't show any sign of it. He didn't reply to me, swiftly passing me and I followed behind him, we entered into an in-elevator since I had luggage with me, cessation increasing thousandfold between us, I stood behind him and he never once turned to glance at me, his back tense in front of me.
I pulled out my phone from my pocket, hurriedly replying to Diya, her messages were everywhere asking me if I had arrived safely, my attention was diverted as the elevator dinged showing that we have arrived, he exited before me, leaving me to myself, I dragged my luggage behind him, he stopped in front of two rooms which were simultaneous to each other, his hands shoved into his dress pants pockets while he turned to me with a calm expression.
"This is your room, and beside yours is mine," he opened the door of his room, revealing a black-themed master bedroom, huge. I nodded my head in understanding.
"You can tell me if you need anything, your closet is filled with your necessities and you can take a few days off if you want." He continued calmly, his gaze not staggering from upon me.
"I'd like to take a few days off, thank you." I jumped at the opportunity of the free holiday, his eyes tinged with amusement in between before it was gone again, he nodded his head in agreement and opened the door of my room, it was themed of burgundy and cream colour, it was beautiful, not as large as his but it was still enough for me.
"I will see you at dinner then." He acknowledged me and entered his room, not waiting for my reply, I gazed at his door for a while before entering into mine, closing the door behind me, leaving me to myself, pin-drop silence enveloping me whole. I strolled to the walk-in closet, a gasp left my lips as soon as it opened, it was filled with clothes upon clothes of brands. Not one thing was absent in here, there were Indian wears too. Gently hauling my hands along them I settled my luggage in a corner since they were not needed now.
I moved my gaze to the different section which was filled with designer bags, branded heels and expensive lingerie, exotic to simple, everything was in there, I was a little stunned at the fact that he knew I would have my own room and still conceded to it, at least that's what I can make out of this expensive closet set-up. Out at the vanity table, all types of makeup, skincare stuff, and whatnot were already arranged, but was I surprised? No. I knew he would arrange everything that's the reason I didn't bring my clothes along, but I didn't expect it to be this expensive so I was a little stunned.
I decided to have a shower and stay in my room, I'm not going anywhere, the bathroom was just as exotic as my closet, warm lights intentionally put towards the direction of the bathtub, giving it a salacious look, it was beautiful in there, relaxing even, removing the clothes I went into the bathtub after preparing a bath, taking advantage of the warm bath bombs that were specifically placed here, I thought of having wine as well but it was better if I remained sober.
The warm bath loosened my sore muscles and relaxed them, after having a long and content bath, I came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around myself. Dressing in an oversized hoodie with panties inside, I usually take a nap after showering so I did my thing, getting into the Queen-sized bed and draping a blanket over me. I slipped into a deep slumber while thinking about how my life is all f*cked up.
•
•
•
I woke up due to the chilled air of the AC directly blowing on me, somehow I managed to kick the blanket off the bed and was left with nothing to keep me warm, rubbing my eyes to keep the sleep away I checked the time, it was already eight in the evening, I had managed to nap for frickin 6 hours straight. Yawning lightly I got off the bed to get something to eat, I am hungry and I need something in my stomach to keep me going, it was weird no one asked me to come and have dinner.
Descending the stairs I went into the kitchen only to see everything empty, nothing out of place, nothing to eat as well, I frowned at the lack of food and called Luke to ask him, he was quick to be by my side, his earpiece and suit on point.
"Did Xavier ate without me?" I asked confusedly.
"No Ms Rajput, Mr king usually orders food in instead of cooking it." I frowned at the information, obviously, he won't cook because he can't cook himself but wasn't there a maid or something to cook for him.
"But isn't there someone who can cook for him?" I asked but he shook his head as a no.
"He fired the last maid just three weeks ago and since then he has been ordering in food, sometime he does, sometimes he don't," Luke confessed and my frown deepened, that was around the time of incident but why would he fire a maid over it, and he's been skipping his meals too.
